This resto is family-style, often crowded, & it's appeal is obvious. The moderate prices, the reasonably expansive menu, the good service, & unpretentious atmosphere make it a neighbourhood fave.
Planning to go there again soon!
Although service isn't the best... The Peking Duck, General Tao Chicken are to die for...
Great comfort food. Great staff !!generious portion!!! their general Tao Is a must... Ill go back soon for my chowmein craving
New Years Eve - 2013. The Mall was blocked for underground and outdoor parking to the restaurant - a challenge to find outdoor parking in a busy Cote des Neiges area in itself. Being seated with a table reservation for 7 people at 7:30 P.M. did not happen until 8 P.M. and aside from that, we were totally ignored by the staff until we went to the counter and complained. We sat for over 30 minutes until we got served and that was only when we let them know, in no uncertain terms, until a waiter of sorts finally appeared. We were kept waiting for the soup once again, and when any of the food was finally served, it was either cold, overcooked and certainly not up to par and we had to keep reminding them to get our food.. The waiter never cleaned our table, one of us had to keep removing dishes and place them on another small table nearby, while we saw our waiter walking around, laughing and being totally ignored and not serving until another waiter took over. After being ignored once again, we informed the counter to bring our bill. Our comment: Terrible service - terrible food.
Yummy shrimp. My mother swears by this place... for one dish... salt and pepper shrimp. So much so that Kam Shing is her first recommendation for any dinner outing. The other dishes are all-round decent and inexpensive. The atmosphere is family friendly, but I certainly wouldn't bring a first date here.
Food are amazing!!! general tao n the fish soup !!!!
If you're fan of Asian food, go to this place!
BEST schezuan food in Montreal. Decor and service are average at best but you'll love the food.
My go to order:
General tao chicken
Beef and tomotoe
Won ton soup
Hot and sour soup
Delicious :)
Been going there for over 15 years. You don't go for the service of the decor. Te food is delicious and the prices unbeatable. Shrimp in lobster sauce, crispy duck, salt and pepper shrimps, ginger beef. Hmmmmmm. Great place to also call ahead and pickup a dinner to eat at home
Best is the neighborhood. If you live close, this is the best Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. The service is a bit quirky, the atmosphere is not so great, but the food is really good. The spring rolls are huge and yummy. The beef stew is always good, pork fried rice, beef with Chinese broccoli, fried noodles, won ton soup... I've never been disappointed but the menu is huge and confusingly laid out. Still worth it.
Craving worthy. Mmmmm .... Kam Shing is a no frills gem. The decor is absent, the service is adequate but the food is delicious. I lived on their hot and sour soup for the duration of my first pregnancy ( my daughter is now a huge fan of chinese food :) ). Another favorite is the chicken with black bean sauce -and the won ton soup is the best I've ever had.
The service is rude but the food is solid. Always a good place to calm my Asian cravings!
This Is Why We're Fat
+4.5
The food isn't consistent, service can be slow at times and waiters aren't always friendly. In spite of all that, we gather here to celebrate birthdays, special occasions and sometime
