Review Ramen Misoya - Montreal

Eve L
Pretty decent ramen, a little on the salty side but overall good. The service and ambiance was really great. I enjoyed the noodles the most, the meat was a little hard and chewy. My friend had one with shrimp and it was a little pricey for what they got. Overall an ok experience, I’m looking forward to trying other ramen restaurants in Montreal.

The ramen was very tasty, and I loved the bao! Service was friendly and helpful. I couldn't give a 5 star review as three things we were planning to order; they were out of. We were really looking forward to shrimp, and I have never tried authentic kimchi, so I was disappointed that there was none. First time eating ramen, and I really enjoyed it.

The ramen was very tasty and spicy. I didn't like something in the broth though, maybe the cumin. They were extremely generous with toppings. The pork pieces were way too fatty tho, like 50-60% pure fat which was a little too much for my taste. The noodles tasted very good. Would recommend.

The ramen tastes...really bad. I mean, I can taste the old iron taste of the meat and bland vegetables (except green onions: they were fresh) whereas usually the saltiness of Ramen base would cover that taste, it just didn't here. There was cabbage in here that didn't go well with the entirety of the dish. The waitress was nice and they have great service (forgot water but apologized afterward). But the food...it made me realize I rather spend 17$ on a ramen than 13$.

The ramen was very salty and greasy.. would not recommend it. Plus the service was very slow and the waitress showed her mood of being tired when she was taking our order.. If the food was great I would have not complained.. 😕

100% WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I wish I could give 0 stars 😪 I usually like their ramen, but everything has been getting worse each time I go. Tonight I went to eat with 2 friends and we were more than disappointed with the service and the food quality. First, when we arrived, we were made to wait longer than we should have with only two tables of customers. The servers saw us but kept ignoring us until they either finished drying spoons or finished getting change for a table. Even after that they ignored us to do other things and then decided to greet us. After about 10 minutes of putting down our menus and looking around, waiting for a server to take our order, we called on one of the servers, to which she asked if we were ready to order. What else would we be calling them for? The server was okay when taking our order, but it wasn’t great. Just took the order and left. We were also dissatisfied with the quality of the broth. We are all Japanese. My two friends were born and raised in Japan and know what decent ramen tastes like. This was far below the quality of basic ramen. The broth was more thin and oily than I’ve had, the past times I’ve eaten at Misoya. It tasted lacking in flavor. On top of that my noodles were undercooked and clumped together. I’m not sure if you can see it in my photo. The ramen was edible but below par. Finally, although 1/3 of was still eating and the rest we’re talking, the server came and asked if we were ready for the bill. I thought people asked for the bill after everyone is finished eating, but I guess not here. We paid full price but believe it wasn’t worth the price. Also, one of us ordered a ramen combo that comes with a basic ramen, a small karaagedon and a coffee. The server who took our order asked if we wanted a drink with it, to which we replied « no » because it came with a coffee. We did not get the coffee and was charge for the individual ramen and karaagedon. When we asked the waitress about it, she explained that the combo is « just a collection of things and she asked if we wanted anything to drink and we said no ». Is it us? Did we get it wrong or is the server unknowledgeable about their menu? Because the combo did not give any option of drinks other than the coffee. So naturally we said « no » when she asked if we wanted anything to drink, knowing that the only option given was coffee. Safe to say that none of us will never go back to this extreme disappointment of a Japanese ramen restaurant.

Nice and cozy place I tried an appetizers, a pork dish (silver shiro cha shu) and a vegatable dish. Main pork dish is just ok. Vegetable dish was really good. Tried Poulet Kara-age for appetizers. It was good. Staff is really friendly and supportive. Our waitress didn't know anything. She had to ask everything from another person that person had to assit her. (Maybe she is in training) Overall experience is ok. Food was just ok.

Tantan Miso never fails to satisfy my taste buds. If you are looking for something spicy and not too crowded in your bowl, tantan miso does justice to it :)

The Tan-Tan Ramen was simply a revelation to me. Having that meal is a small part of joy in my life. That's how I would describe it. I have tried other Ramen places but never found any other that was good like the Misoya tan-tan ramen. I would buy the restaurant to keep this ramen in my life. ;)

I usually go to this place and I really like it, the last time that I went to noted that the menu had changed, and the waiter wasn't any patient with me, so I leted pass because I really was looking forward to have my soup, when I got my soup I noted that they didn't put the meat so I told to the waiter and with a very bad attitude he brought (or almost throw) on the table the meat, overall I didn't enjoy my meal, I felt really disrespected and definitely since the beginning this waiter was really rude. (not only with me) so please I hope that this situation could be addressed. Thank you

I've been going to Misoya ever since their opening. I've always had great service. The food is always really good, and they serve the best Karaage in town (in my experience). Noodles are awesome, and the ingredients are good as well! Highly recommend it!

I take the tan-tan spicy ramen: Nodles where sticky and pork was over-cooked, and the soup was very salty ! At least the goyza were excelent and save the dinner.

Their fried chicken is amazing! The ramen is also pretty good. If you go here get fried chicken tho!!!

It is salty. Less salt would be better. People can add more salt if they want to.
