Very pretty food. Some nice kitchen work. Lively ambiance. Trendy. Good service. We had the Wednesday special tasting menu. Crispy rice was a bit too hard. Cocktails were very tasty

I based my 5 stars judgment on to aspect for this experience: service and food quality
Service was impeccable, very friendly and professional from the moment you step in to the restaurant until you leave. Our waitress Mila recommended me an excellent wine that was matching my expectation. She also accommodated the tasting menu so we could have the dessert we wanted (passion fruit Paris Brest)
Food: Tasting menu will fulfill you for $75 - wine pairing $125 with original and funky wine we would have not ordered normally. Very surprising in a good way. One of the dishes, beets ruban, would deserve a “little flavor kick”
I also need to mention to finish that before hand, they will ask you if you have any food allergies/restriction. I forgot to say that I’m not eating raw meat and it was into the tasting menu. The chef was adorable and prepared me the langoustine dish.
We will certainly come back

A very beautiful simplistic looking restaurants that will blow your mind away with their dishes. We took the tasting menu and was very intrigued on the carrot cake...sweet and mysteriously savory as well - amazing flavors. Probably one of the best dishes I had this year. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

No doubt one of the most creative restaurant in Montreal. A must do. So tasty, so fresh, so delicious. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is smooth.

Ambiance was really nice. The service was good. The plate are super well presented, however the taste wasn’t as good as it look.

I was traveling to Montreal to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriend and another couple (with whom I share a birthday), so I had originally wanted a traditional French pick (Au Pied). I was duped into giving up my original reservation and the four of us went to HVOR. I cannot express how happy I am that this change was made. The service was excellent – we made friends with every server in the place, the bartender, and the manager; the chefs heard us and how much fun we were having and kept sending more food to keep us there! The food was magnificent – I have never had better food in my entire life. The quality was outstanding, the presentation was incredible, and I cannot begin to describe how much we all enjoyed the wine pairings as it was as if the vintners were only in business to work with HVOR. We turned what was quoted as a 2.5-3 hour dining experience into an outrageous, amazing, unforgettable 6 hour evening.
Yes, we were those loud Americans, but we were also the Americans who took the time to get to know our servers, the bartender, and the manager. All of them kept fighting to come to our table, at some point we ended up having the entire staff surrounding us answering questions about the food & wine. We stayed for drinks after the meal had officially ended for at least another hour, as not a one of us wanted the evening to be over.
This has to be one of my top 3 dining experiences, and the other two were similar restaurants in the States where I knew the executive chefs and they decided to show off. I would recommend this to everyone. Shout out to our favorite server, Anna-Rose, and to the manager Freddie, who were truly terrific.
