Review Le Poke Bar - Montreal

Food itself looked amazing, the toppings were yummy but honestly the bottom half of the bowl didn’t taste as good. I got the shrimp and crab bowl, my friend got the veg bowl. She was so excited to eat it but found a hair in her bowl :( that ruined her appetite. So overall, I’d recommend hair nets, and for myself I don’t think it was my cup of tea. Pro: the portion size is really good for the price.

I like this place. I often choose to customize my own poke bowl and it’s good. Fresh and tasty. Staff is nice. The sitting area is good distance.

They make the ordering process easy and it tastes delicious. Easily best poke bowl I’ve ever had

This is the first poke restaurant I've found that makes such customizable poke bowls. You can start from scratch with base choices such as brown or white rice, quinoa, in addition to choosing toppings and sauce. Although there are main menu items as well, including one vegetarian option, these are also super customizable to change the base and add more. The price was awesome for how much you get and how great it tasted. The customizability of the menu also means we'll be coming back to try different options!

Great portions and delicious. The reason why I didn’t give 5⭐️ is that when you pass an order online, you do not get a confirmation email like most restaurants so you’re not really sure what time to go, if they got your order, etc

Tasty and big portions. You will either be super full or need a take out bowl. No skimping here. Friendly staff. Lots of sauce choices. Could use a little more spice but that’s personal.

Huge portion sizes and good variety of ingredients! I guess the only vegetarian option for protein is tofu, and it was a touch over-seasoned when I had it. But overall great food, and nice clean atmosphere.

Man it’s so good - best poke bowl I’ve had in town!

Ate here with friends and vas very disappointed. Myself and one of my friends both took the salmon and tune poke bowl with white rice. The fish was NOT fresh!!! We both felt sick after eating it. Not only was the fish not fresh but the rice was tasteless and super watery! All in all not a great experience! Would not recommend.

Went with my daughter who has gone on many occasions. My daughter introduced to me saying it was better than sushi shop, where my other daughter works! It was “ok” the fish was off to tasteless and even with all the condiments added, I was over it 1/2 way through. Asian cuisine is more intricate and complicated than any “fast food” can produce. It is what it is...

Loved it, everything was fresh and yummy! Affordable prices. First time i went, i chose the "create your own bowl" and we could add any ingredient and i fell in love with the place! I came back a few days later and even brought my crew and told them that this was the best place ever! Unfortunately, you can now only choose 6 ingredients to add to the "create your own bowl". I was a little disappointed since i couldnt get it all like the last time. This is why im giving it 4 stars. I would suggest to let us have all the ingredients again but only smaller portions of each! That would be great :)

Your poke bowls are bland and tasteless. Both my husband and I were very disappointed. Sushi shop has way better poke bowls. At least their spicy mayo is delicious and oh yeah spicy.

I ordered Poké Bar from Foodora and had a horrible experience..First of all they called me to say they had no more avocado. They shouldn't have accepted the order since Avocado makes the whole dish. Secondly, when our food arrived, one of the bowls had opened, spilling the food all over the rest of the order. Disgusting! We could clearly see that the bowls weren't sealed properly. Cmon! Thirdly, there was barely any fish and no sauce. We felt we were only eating dry rice, stiff kale and carrots. Very very disappointed.

Diner entre amies très agréable ! Le service est super rapide et le Poké est très bon. Le choix d'accompagnements est varié. J'y retournerai certainement:)

the best poke place in montreal by far. Always fresh and you customize your plates at your liking.

I bought lunch here once and the fish wasn't fresh, it had that weird fishies smell and the service was terrible,

I'm always greeted by very friendly staff. I've brought a few friends for lunch at different occasion and they all loved it! The ingredients are always fresh and delicious P.S.: I like to ask the employee to not mix my bowl, so I can take a nice picture of it for IG! Thanks again for featuring one of my pictures

Just had the freshest salmon! I love the consistency and taste of this place. Only custom bowls for me though

C'était ma première fois et j'ai adoré le concept!! Les ingrédients frais et variés mais surtout très gouteux!! Je vais y retourner

Excellent service, the staff was very patient with me explained the whole process to me and even offered suggestions based on popularity. This restaurant is a good healthy alternative than eating fast food. Fresh vegetables and tuna with a spicy sauce can't get no better than that!

I love this restaurant, they have the best poke in town. Great food, fresh fish and nice ambiance!

Nice place, good food! Only thing is I believe you need someone on the floor cleaning tables more often as they get dirty very quickly! No one likes to touch other people's dirty napkins and used chopsticks. Please take this as positive criticism, to better yourselves!

Great concept. Very friendly & helpful staff, especially for first timers & English speakers. Good good, prices & location!

It was just OKEY. A bit disappointing comparing to the expectations. The portion is big BUT mostly rice ... the plate just didnt look the same as the pictures, i didnt see any avocado there. Also she had forgotten the sauce so taste was plain and blunt ... employees are a bit lost

I visited Le Poke Bar with a friend last week for dinner and was craving some good raw fish and vegetables. I enjoyed the fact that you can pick and choose what you want in your poke bowl, however I found the quality /taste so so. Note: The watermelon in the bowls was great

This weather is giving me major Hawaiian vibes & poké cravings. Good thing for me, Le Poké Bar is just a short walk from McGill campus. The Aloha bowl (depicted here, pre- & post-stir) is comprised of salmon, carrots, cucumber, edamame, and tempura. Despite being a fresh & delicious bowl, it lacked a certain flavour due to the restaurant's minimal use of dressing, prompting me to douse the dish in sirracha sauce. That issue didn't stop me from returning to the restaurant on two more occasions, as I'm a big fan of the concept & their use of healthy ingredients. Now this problem, on the other hand, really needs rectifying: My only other complaint is that, during all three dining experiences, the restaurant's employees had to inform me that they've 'run out' of quinoa, forcing me to opt for rice. I don't know if it's just bad timing, or if the restaurant no longer serves quinoa bowls, but the menu should be updated (and supplies, regulated more carefully). That being said, Le Poké Bar is still hip & relatively new, with more than enough time to improve and make me fall in love.

One of the first Poke Bar joints to open in Montreal, and still one of the best. Their portions are fairly big and always leaves us full for quite some while. There are a wide range of toppings and bases (white rice, brown rice, vermicelli etc) to choose from, and also pre-set combos to choose from. The fish is fresh and the fruits are too. The interior decor is vibrant and takes you straight to Hawaii :)

Went here for lunch and enjoyed it. Seafood was fresh and options were plentiful. Flavours were really well balanced in the poke bowl and it's nice knowing you're eating healthy. Go try it.

This place is amazing..i saw a few bowls on Instagram during summer '16 and i always wanted to try one but never got the time to hop there. So i took the Kahuna Bowl wich his tuna, kale, seaweed, sesame seeds and a little bit of fried onions. Danm it was delicious. You can creat your own bowl with differents ingredients..next time that's what im doing 😁.

Always wanted to try Poke, a healthy seafood bowl that originates from Hawaii. You basically can create your own bowl or pick a pre-made one. I went for white rice, tuna chunks, yuzu soy sauce, edamame, mango, avocado, carrots, cashews, red onions, pickled ginger, etc. You get a choice of 6 toppings from the veggie selection - it wasn't easy to choose! While it was yummy to eat and a fun experience sharing a bowl, it wasn't very filling and it needed more flavour (hence we were dousing siracha). May go back and try different combinations. About $17-18 per bowl if you make your own.

The latest foodie trend in Montreal are traditional poke bowls which is a Hawaiian method of seafood preparation. Similar to deconstructed sushi bowls, poke bowls are customarily filled with raw fish in a soy sauce marinade with vegetables and rice. Now trending in Los Angeles, it has inched its way to Montreal and become popular amongst the healthy eating hipster 20-something year olds.

Happy to see a poké bar opening up in the heart of the city. Lots of different bowls to choose from, and you also have the option of creating your own. However, I regret to say that some of the ingredients could have been fresher; the salad was soggy and the tuna looked as though older pieces were mixed in with fresher ones. This place has the potential to become great once it works out a few kinks.
