Review Salon De The Cardinal - Montreal

I had higher expectations of this place. Lets talk Tea salon vibe: check!! Its 10/10 in regards to the place decoration, tables, tea pots etc.. its Antique and authentic. You really feel like you are in a 1800 tea party! The lavender tea is a must! What I didn’t like: the tower that has desserts and mini sandwich was not worth it. Too little quantity for an expensive price! The cream cheese sandwich wasn’t delicious tbh and the cones were too dry. I felt like the quality of these items could be improved. I could smell too much burnt butter in the kitchen which is near. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You will need reservation before you go!

I fell in love with the vintage vibe of this cafe. It has many cozy corners and unique antiques. Can easily spend the afternoon here with a book, tea and delicious treats - especially the scones. Will be back!

We had been meaning to go to a tea room for a while and found this one had a good reputation we were not disappointed it was a very good experience for me and my family. The food, the service and the ambiance were all excellent. You can make reservations despite what their website says we arrived without one but luckily we arrived early and they accommodated us without issue.

Extremely cute aesthetic and the afternoon tea was so good. It looks on the smaller side, but it’s definitely a satisfying portion! Quality of the food and tea were great. Afternoon tea for two is $50, which is a very reasonable price. Waitresses were also very kind. Would highly recommend!

Such a nice place! The decor and service were great. Tea for 2 was about what you’d expect. Food good overall except for the sausage rolls. Would definitely return!

Lavender Earl Grey and Oolong were very nice, but the selection was pretty disappointing for a tea room. Afternoon tea for two was alright, but not great. Service wasn't particularly attentive, didn't even refill our water. Decor was very pretty.

It has a very nice ambience and great staff. Super friendly. Good for instagram pictures if you are up to it. However, I dont recommend the brunch. It was meh, tea wasnot on point, pastries were cold. I guess I will give it another try but with different menu.

Cosy vibes for an afternoon tea. I liked the tea and the tea set, but service was subpar (waiters just standing there talking to the ‘cooks’) and the desserts were not tasty. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh but the sausage rolls were rubbery and cold. Overall, I would not return, but appreciated the experience nonetheless.

My daughter and I stumbled upon this place today - fabulous! Stunningly beautiful, super friendly staff, lovely piano player, comfy couches and chairs, cut outdoor patio, and yummy tea and treats. A great place to unplug and while away an afternoon. Can't wait to come back next time we're in Montreal!

Excellent high tea! Atmosphere was bookish and classy, though casual attire was fine Bang for your buck getting the tea for 2 deal ($40 total for 2 small pots of tea and decadent treats). Blueberry scone with clotted cream Spent a fine rainy evening with good company and yummy tea. Couldn't ask for better!

Honestly I've been searching for a place like this for years. The 1920's charm, amazing music, delightful tea and delicious food... I've died and gone to heaven!!!! All ur missing is high tea time platters/trays (tea sandwiches and tea cakes) for 2. That would definitely put things above and beyond!

The place is very beautiful. The food was delicious. Service wasn't the best. Our waitress acted that everything was an inconvenience to her. I made the reservation beforehand. We are 7 people, not everyone got the equal amount of the sandwiches. It seemed a pain for her to separate the bills. I am sure if we had someone else to serve with better hospitality then our experience would have been perfect.

I love the Cardinal Tea Room. The setting is divine, the staff always kind, attentive and competent, and the tea and food delicious. A perfect setting for special occasions or... teatime anyday! It is one of my favourite places to meet friends, take my grandchildren out for a special treat, or have a meeting.
