Review Restaurant Douro - Montreal

Amazing food! Amazing service! Thank you to the team for making my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary such a perfect night! The best grilled octopus and calamari I've ever had! The pork and clams (alentjana) was out of this world! We will be back again and again!

Excellent Portuguese restaurant. Among the best in Montreal! Food is really good and is prepared with high quality ingredients! It is on the high end side and the prices follow, however it is really worth if you like Portuguese cuisine. Ambience is also very nice and the service super efficient.

I wish my stomach was larger. The paellas, the wine, the desert… natas do céu are my fav! A travel to the region of Douro while staying in montreal!

Amazing place to eat, best Portuguese cuisine in Montreal. Portions are great and the food is absolutely fantastic. If you're a seafood lover this is the place to go.

Upon walking into Restaurant Douro, I found it to be very reminiscent of Café Ferreira on Peel Street when it first opened many years ago. With its blue & white tile mosaic wall, it felt like more like a sister restaurant but at affordable prices. In the evening the restaurant is well lit and bright; it has a clean crisp fell to it with its white walls, trimmed with yellow and splashes of blue. A fine dining establishment with white linen covered tables and wooden chairs; it takes us to the lands of oceans and sun. The menu boasts a good mix of fish, seafood and grilled meats and all the Portuguese favorites starting from Tapas to Grilled sardines, Bacalhau Potato Croquettes , Lobster and Shrimp, Caldo Verde soup , Pork and Clams, Grilled steaks ,chicken and heavenly desserts to boot, and of course the proverbial Portuguese favorites natas. We received copious amounts of food and everything tasted on par and authentic.
The seafood Casserole was amazing. Served in a steel dish casserole, the seafood rice was a stunning dish served in a portion that would easily satisfy two people. The broth was heavenly, the rice was flavorful, and the amount of fresh seafood was outta this world. Topped with a two scrumptious lobster tail, the dish included pieces of tender codfish, small scallops, clams, shrimp, squid and mussels. The dish is pricey ($44.95), but the portion size and the amount of seafood was a deal, especially if shared by two.

Came her for our valentines date! We had the grilled squid tapa, then I had the Valencia paella and my husband had the braised lamb shank. The service was great. They took our jackets. We had our mains within 45min (which is great b/c I know how long fresh Paella can take). The only complaint I had was the restaurant was too loud (there were three 8+ parties) so we couldn't really talk, and the chicken in my paella was too dry. Everything else was perfect.

On St-Laurent boulevard near Montreal’s Little Italy, lies Douro restaurant, a little corner of Portugal serving authentic Portuguese food in a casual, yet refined ambience. Douro is a hidden gem with its minimal signage, but once inside the bright and airy space it feels as though you’ve discovered something quite special.

Leave room for dessert!!. What a great restaurant to bring a date, a friend or simply to enjoy a great meal! Friendly service, excellent food! I had the sea food platter: lobster tail, blue mussels, clams, giant shrimp, scallop all grilled to perfection with a house blend spice it was combined beautifully together on a bed of rice! Absolutely delicious! But no matter what you order you have to leave room for dessert the ''natas do ciel'' is to die for! ill be back for sure! Happy eating!

Great Food. Wonderful Decor. We waited about 30 mins for our food, while there was another party of 45 people going on. Servers were friendly, food was absolutely scrumptious. I give it a 10/10.

Almost Perfect. From the moment you arrive, it is evident that you are entering a very different world. The decor is subtle, elegant and highly enhanced by paintings of a Mexican artist who combines the beauty of a woman's face with the esthetics of the sea.
Once at your table, the service is impecable. It is not very often that you find the owners so passionate for their job that they really enhance the experience.
The food almost perfect if only the chef would use less salt).
Take a very close look at their wine list, specially the private imports. The quality is excelent and the prices fairly reasonable.
No matter what you orderm do not miss the home made prosciutto and leave room for dessert (natas do ciel are really from Heaven).

They serve tapas style dishes or you can stick to the classic appetizer/ main course format if you’d like. Each time I’ve gone, I have stuck to the tapas menu. Amongst the tapas options on this evening, we went for chorizo sausage, grilled squid, grilled calamari, garlic shrimp and cod cakes. Every item is cooked very nicely without overdoing the ingredients – simply allowing the natural favors of each items shine through with some slight enhancements. The grilled squid is of particular note here.
