Review Eggspectation - Montreal

Hasan Ashkanani
The food was ok. I had the avocado toast, and my friend had the Montrealer. It wasn’t perfect. The waiter was terrific though, and the service was great. The iced tea was good as well. Overall, I would not come here again, unless there is no other option

This is literally my favorite breakfast place in Montreal. The staff is so friendly and kind! The food is just so amazing and fresh. the sitting area is really nice. I came here so many times and the service remained really good. I am definitely coming back another time.I highly recommend

Welcoming staff! Tasty breakfast! Good prices! If you ever end up in Downtown and happen to be walking in the area. Make sure to stop by! Really loves the Benedictine with Salmon. Fresh and delicious!

Used this restaurant for a group of 28 and they were amazing!! All the tables were ready when we arrived, they allowed us to pre-order so all the food came out quickly, service was friendly and efficient, prices were very reasonable. We'll be back!

Compare to the one in Richmond BC, this one is on another level. I can see why people in BC would like one. Crepes, and the Benny were both good, service was great. Top notch for a chain/multi location restaurant, but just above average for a breakfast spot

Nothing exceptional. They don't have an alternative for pork, you have to add extra if you want to switch pork with chicken or beef. The pancakes were good.

The staff is friendly and courteous. I was a little disappointed in the food. The roasted potatoes were soggy and they didn't have cretons :(

Got here around 2pm and the service, food, and atmosphere is fantastic! Definitely recommend the eggs benedict, can't go wrong with any type! Go here!!

I’m quite shocked to see this place rated at 3.5. I ate breakfast here during my stay at Montreal and let me tell you it was nothing short of fabulous.

What did I have?
Eggs benedict & freshly squeezed orange juice

What did I like the most?
To kickstart my day with fresh juice :) nothing could have made me happier.

What I thought?
I really wanted to go back here for breakfast before leaving Montreal but didn’t get the chance. Their eggs benedict was totally delicious. Until next time I guess!

ordered a beef burger with bacon, was very tasty.
the staff were extremely nice and the manager was willing to help and make you feel welcome.
would totally go there again!

I didn't know eggs could be made in soo many varieties. For me an egg is just a shell with a yolk in it, so that's why I was really surprised with the menu. It took me about 15 mins to decide what I wanted to order. I usually tend to order coffee at the end but I changed my mind and ordered the cappuccino instead. Unfortunately, it wasn't great, I was expecting it to be better.

My friends and I ordered the Meat lovers omelette, Rosemary chicken sandwich, sweet delight crepe, Lobster mac and cheese, Strawberry blonde and last but not the least, I got myself the Lobster Omelette.

We were happy with what we ordered, especially the Lobster Omelette. I think out of everything we ordered the Lobster Omelette stood out, because of its flavour and taste. On the other hand, the Lobster mac n cheese was very bland and I couldn't really taste the lobster.

I loved the service, the server was prompt and friendly.

I would definitely come back for the Lobster Omelette.

Had a lovely meal there with superb service. Everything was so good. The brunch items were top notch. Our favorite was the lobster mac&cheese. Must try!

Check out tis place for awesomeness. Had my brunch here n couldn't ask for more than a 3 egg omlette with toast n potato wedges n fruits. Truly heart warming n content meal within normal budget. Must try on when you are in montreal. Was seated promptly and the dish came out in fraction of seconds within the time I had ordered though the place was buzzing with people. That was like wowwww!!!!! So fast... tats a service. Kudos to the team. Of course coming to the real king... the taste and it was goooooddd yummmmm... just like Ego in ratatouille on having his ratatouille. Must try...

Lobster omelette had plenty of meat and the French toast flambé was as delicious as it is beautiful to look at. It wasn't too sweet-- it was very tasty.

One clear sign that spring is amongst us and that winter is finally over is the sign of terrasses popping up on sidewalks along with pedestrians walking around with 50% of them in shorts and the other 50% still wearing their gooses. Is it cold? Is it hot? or should we just take a leaf from the wise Katy Perry and say that spring, “you’re hot and you’re cold.”

this is one of my favorite places in Montreal.
i'll be honest and say i never ordered anything other than the bravocado, which makes me drool. the eggs are poached to perfection, and sit perfectly in the little hole left in the avocado by its seed. the sauce is very well balanced, not too heavy but just enough to mix the tastes. also, the siders go great with the egg and avocado.
other than that, my friends always try different things and they never had anything bad to say about the dishes.
the service was just fine, and the place looks nice and clean.

Happen to stumble upon this place just wandering looking for a quick late breakfast with my travel compatriots. The setting was modern looking on the outside but rustic on the inside. The chairs weren't very comfortable but we'll live. I had the All American, the portions were adequate. The food was cooked well but the potatoes are sliced and deep fried, possibly even too long, which gave it a crispy outer but extremely dry in the middle. You don't expect much from an American chain, it's comparable to Denny's.

A Classic Breakfast Restaurant!. For those of you from eastern Canada, you may have heard about Eggspectation, a chain restaurant specializing in breakfast. The restaurant had started in Quebec, and have now ventured out to the Americas, India, and Dubai!

We visited on Saturday and Sunday for a late breakfast during a work trip. Hotel breakfast is just standard but this is a real breakfast! Since it was summer we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. The Lobster Benedict is decadent and rich. Goes perfectly with the Grande Mimosas! A traditional omelette with their Lyonaise potatoes pairs well with a spicy Bloody Mary. Service was good. Food was served promptly, plated well, and served hot, even during the weekend rush. I'd have it every day except for the calories!

Excellent service and food. We ate here 5 mornings in a row including during the weekend rush. We ordered different things from different waiters each day. Everything was great.

I also tried different fruit smoothies each day which were fresh and tasty. Fruit plates are huge. Eggs can be messed up but they were able to cook them properly each time. There is no gluten free bread option.

We ate inside and out. We preferred inside, downstairs. We walked upstairs once and it was too hot for me.

Got to the restaurant and was seated right away. Host wasn't that friendly. Beautiful atmosphere in the restaurant. Menu was great and had great descriptions of food. My waitress was amazing! She catered to all my needs and I am a high demand woman! Haha. Great food. Especially the french toast. She didn't ask to fill my water which was somewhat annoying. Good price,
Good service, great food! A nice family breakfast joint for all :)

Rude little hostess. Average food. Refused to give a banquet even though 5 were available upstairs because of a projected lunch rush, which never happened. A plethora of empty tables surrounded ours as we the EXISTING customers were seated at a table which I actually verbally protested against. I understand the whole principle of saving larger tables for larger groups when the restaurant is busy. I sat there from 11:20am-1pm and it was about 1/3 full. Rule number one, cater to someone who is already spending money in your establishment. The hostess was incredibly rude and took a tone that a bratty child would use and even graced me with an eye roll. Luckily this restaurant is well located because the food leaves a lot to be desired. Can't really screw up eggs, but everything else they did a pretty good job of.
Marina
Needs a change. This place has acceptable but not extraordinary food. What bothered me though, was its seating layout. We were seated literally 6 inches away from the next occupied table so we had to overhear their conversation. You have to inch your way into some of the seats too. Annoying enough to never come back, as convenient as the location may be.

Great food, poor service.... Had breakfast one morning loved it! Next time was extremely Dissapointing. Ordered a Blt with a 1/4lb of bacon...1/4lb of bacon was on 3 strips, I let my server know and he argued that bacon shrinks when it's cooked. Haven't been back since. Probably won't wver go back

Do not expect too much from eggspectations! The food is nothing special. The fries taste as if they had been frozen. The eggs benedict tasted too acidic. On top of it, serve is bad too. Took at least 10 minutes for anyone to aknowledge our presence. Disnt offer a menu or anything. I had to go get it myself

I went there.for a late.breakfast on a sunday there was alot of staff working. I got sat down by a host an didn‘t get any service (not even a menu) for at least 15 minutes , after that I went to see a manager told him i was going to leave and he sat me down right away and i got my food in 30 seconds. I was surprised that I has to go to such lenghs just to get attention from the employees. The food was dry and tasteless. I will never go back, I much rather spend 20$ at Chez cora any day!

Sunday Breakfast. Ordered the California Dreaming benedict eggs which were overcooked and the potatoes were cold. The waiter at the end ruined it for us when he complained that we didn't tip him enough and went into a long winded rant about how he only earns $8/hour (which isn't true). We gave him slightly less than 15% because of the overcooked & cold food but he claimed we need to tip 15% on the total with the sales tax.

Fulll good!!. I always have the Yolk around the clock when i go there. friendly place, okay servive.

I've been to this location a half dozen times and each time I am under impressed. This past time I ordered Californian Dreamin which was so so. But service was terrible. Our server was the most lifeless drone I'd ever seen. I figure the other reason the restaurant is still there is because it's close to crescent and hotels. Definitely not worth the visit.

Nice place inside. Great menu. I ordered eggs Benedict. Food presentation was nice but the eggs were cold. Potatoes are really good. Coffee is good. Our waiter was stressed and rushed. Another group of waiters were rude to us as we were leaving. I like the concept behind this restaurant, but they need to manage their staff better.

Breakfeast at Eggspectation. Nice breakfast, fun, modern resto - ...decent menu choices. I decided to have the BLT - decent amount of bacon, came with the option of home fries or fries or salad. Had the home fries which were very good. $10.95 (without coffee) for the sandwich is a little steep but I guess it's as good as you're going to get being at a downtown prime location. We were six of us, and we all agreed that the coffee was coloured water. Our very accommodating waiter eagerly brewed another pot with the same exact results. According to their menu, they use high quality arabica beans, I guess jut not enough of it. We had to get our caffeine fix elsewhere afterwards!!!
Overall the food was nice, and my company was even better.

Crap, simple eggs and sausage what could go wrong? Well simple service was inadequate... Was it too much to Bering a glass of water? And what is it about a place that takes 10mins to bering the bill? Simple not worth the $10.50! Plus tip

I went to eggspectation a few weeks ago with a friend and ordered eggs Benedict with asparagus and smoked salmon. while the hollandaise sauce was pretty tasty and arrived fairly quickly, the asparagus was a little soggy and lukewarm. the waiter was very friendly and engaging. the place itself was pretty nice, warm and "homie" decor.

Low eggspectations. So mediocre. i had an eggs benedict with guacamole which sounded like two of my favorite foods in one and i was SO disappointed. the guac seemed like some kind of powdered mix put on with an icing tip, really weird. everything was kind of cold and bland. worst breakfast i've ever had in montreal. nice terrasse/ location but that's all it has going for it.

Awesome, but!. I like the place, cyou can see them cocking your order.
However, some orders were so oily. And service quality vary from water to another.
Nilu
Not too good. I don't really understand why people eat here. I find they have become more focused on growing their restaurant chain as a pose to growing in their food quality. Everything is half assed. The service is good though, that's about it.

Pass. The food is what you would expect from a chain restaurant and everything else is much worse. There is almost always a ridiculous line (only because of the location, the food is nothing worth waiting for). The upstairs is a SAUNA. It is disgustingly hot, the windows don't open, they don't seem to have air conditioning except for a few fans that do nothing. This is understandable, its a huge restaurant with a lot of windows, but I wouldn't go back because of the service from our waitress, I never got my drink and she never came back to our table after taking our order. We were dying of thirst because it was 100 degrees, we wanted to ask for at least a glass of water and we had to call her from across the restaurant to ask for our bill after waiting for what felt like an eternity. After another extended period of time we asked again, this time she cleared some of the plates off our table, not noticing that she dropped some napkins and a sirop-covered cantaloupe. Finally we cornered her by the cash register to pay as she was never going to make it back to our table with the bill. Obviously Saturday breakfast is a busy time but this was incredible, she didn't even have very many tables. All we could do is laugh and not go back.
Alphabet Diner
It wasn't the cleanest place I'd ever been. It took me three tries to get a clean fork and there was grunge on the menu. The fruit on the plate looked like it has been out fir a while. Aside from that however, the eggs benedict may have been the best I ever had and the wait staf were fast and friendly.

Dissapointed. We arrived hoping to have an enjoyable brunch on a Friday around noon and instead found ourselves with over-cooked eggs, bitter coffee, and a staff who wouldn't utter a word to us. After having been lead up the stairs (with a notable limp) by a rushed hostess and left for a good 20 minutes before a waiter came to us, my boyfriend asked if we could have some bread while we awaited our meal (as many of the tables around us had). We were told bread was not included in our meal, and it turns out, polite service was not either. No one ever came by to ask how the food was or if we needed anything, or to give a coffee refill. The meal was adequate, we got what we asked for but later my boyfriend was hungry and complaining of stomach cramps. If you're looking to spend a little extra for a treat, it might be a good idea to keep looking. I suspect that service may have been better on the first floor of the establishment.
This review is for the 1313 De Maisonneuve West Location

It was so busy when I was there, but it was definitely worth the wait. The staff was rushing around providing A+ service. The food came within ten minutes and was both beautiful and delicious.

15 min wait worth it. Incredible service, coffee always full, great portioned food on table ten minutes after ordering. Delectable cuisine.

Great food and service. Had my food less then 5 min.!!

My family and I always enjoy Egggspectation in Maryland. We found out on our recent trip to Montreal that it's the birthplace of the franchise. Some menu items were the same as in the U.S, while others were pleasantly different. There were several restaurant locations in Montreal to choose from. Charles ordered the Eggspectation Bagel Breakfast Sandwich - decked out with a fried egg, bacon strips, tomatoes, raw onions, Swiss cheese and lettuce. This sandwich combines breakfast and lunch to form the ultimate sandwich. It's a huge sandwich and it's even bigger taste. I selected the Western Wake-Up. The omelette was thick and filled with assortments of ham, sautéed peppers, and onions. I am completely enamored with their seasoned Lyonnaise-style potatoes ( Charles' dish also had these potatoes). Who can resist their thick, well seasoned taste and an insanely soft bite. I think these potatoes are one of the best potatoes I have ever tasted! My mother chose the French Toast Flambé which

I like the idea and atmosphere of this place a lot more than the food. There’s something special about going to a place called ‘ eggspectation ’.
Tips Are Included!
Before we left Montreal the following day, we had breakfast at Eggspectation. This was a cute and inexpensive restaurant close to our hotel.

Eggspectations’ Second floor is wonderful in its atmosphere, with a industrial like feel but modernised. However, I found their service though is a bit sparse. Food-wise, the dishes were about average which was a slight disappointment for one of our few breakfasts’ in Montreal but you never know until you try.
BiteMe
I had a Construction Pancake, a layered high rise of pancakes, sausage, bacon and grilled potatoes. It looked pretty cool, although I was wishing it was an even higher stack. It is not much different from having pancakes w
