Review Deville Dinerbar - Montreal

Great modern diner - family owned and locally sourced/supported food. Overpriced $$$+ to be expected in downtown Montreal, however food portions and taste was not mind blowing. Drink menu was great! Fun cocktails that tasted delicious. Seating was mostly booths and comfortable. They have tables/chairs upstairs. Server was fun and personable knew the menu well.

I really cannot praise this place enough. I first discovered it many years ago and it is always my first supper in Montreal spot when I return ALWAYS the best food, the best service, fun ambience. The cocktails are fun and creative. The food though, my gosh. Such a fun twist on American classics. Probably good I don't live in Quebec or I'd weigh a lot more bcuz of this place 😅

We went to Montreal for a weekend trip and found Deville Dinerbar while walking to find a restaurant to eat at. Great selection for their dinner menu and they also have a great cocktail menu. We ordered some burgers, mac and cheese, chicken with fries, the hanger steak and of course a strawberry milkshake and some cocktails. We also couldn’t pass up trying their famous beignets. We were so impressed by the service and food we went back again for dinner but were so disappointed they were closed on Sunday. Our server was so friendly and amazing! My family still talks about Deville Dinerbar and look forward to when we can come back to Montreal to eat here again!

The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is the first star for the place decoration which is very nice and the other one for the service more specifically for the waiter Jay Z who was very nice and professional with the service. The place is overpriced and not worth it at all, I ordered steak sandwich which was barely done that I couldn’t chew it or even cut it with my teeth! Which is annoying considering the price I paid! Drinks are not bad but still pricey. not recommended

The service was outstanding, our waiter named Sam took great care of us. He gave us suggestions which turned up to be amazing. The fat cat burger, calamari rings and pain perdu are some of the many must tries. The food was delicious and the presentation was top-notch. Also I’ve heard that they are about to have new items on the menu can’t wait to try them out.

Ahi tuna tacos so recommended! Southern fried chicken salad, huge portion and very tasty sauce. Cajun salmon, comes with the best rice i ever had, the pobano rice is just so good you must try. La porchetta burger for roasted meat and onion marmalade lovers. Dinerbar club if you like chicken, very good portion. Texas toast steak sandwich, very good simply. Roscoe’s house of chicken and waffle, chicken is tasty but not the kind of combination that satisfies you. Pain perdu was kinda overfried so it was disappointing it wasn’t tender on the inside, also too much cinnamon. One cocktail certainly recommend is MIAMI VICE ! They have very nice cocktails we saw that when we were first seated at the bar, short story here: Visited without reservation in a group of 6. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks while trying to find a table, one of the hostesses was insisting that we can’t get a table even after another table left when we asked to get it for us she still said “No surely its reserved” as if she didn’t even want to try and find us a table. No problem it’s our first time. While waiting for food we were trying with the manager and waitresses, until the hostess approached us saying there will be a table available in a bit. So we got our drinks transported and finally had our seats on a table. I totally understand since we came walk in, but the feeling that the waitress didn’t even want to try and find us a table, as if she didn’t like us I mean at least that’s what she showed. She looked to have a managerial role as well, she wasn’t in black uniform like others. Overall totally worth every penny if you plan your visit and call for reservation beforehand. Your first look at the menu might make you think its overpriced, but once you get the food and the good service at the table you understand its totally worth it.

Great food (seriously, I'm usually reluctant to try new burgers but the "black label" one was juicy and tasty). We were a large group, and the staff was super friendly and patient. Cocktails looked so pretty.

This is a place you MUST go!! Perfect for a cute date night! Nice environment, nice music ,perfect food , perfect drinks , they put enough alcohol in each cocktail ; one glass can make you tipsy 😵‍💫😍 i ordered a drink it was so strong i asked to change and the manager so kindly offered me some other drink i recommend these DRINKS 🍹: -SNOWBALL - PRETTY IN PINK - KILLER KOOL AID - FIERO SPRITZ ( it has sparkles ✨) see the picture below 🤤 They were sooooo good in my opinion, I also ate the “ bad girl pasta “ was amazing And my bf ate “steak American” i really recommend to try this place .

Absolutely love this place, amazing food, service and drink selection. The reason I am putting it at 4 star (I'm sorry) is that I do think it's slightly overpriced. $25 apetizers is a bit much, and $14 cocktails that taste like pure sugar is a little disappointing. Apart from that, keep up the good work it's a great place and I'll always recommend it!

Awesome ambiance. Sharp looking and courteous staff. The Black Label burger � is a must for any burger fan. Made with well aged and tasty ground beef�, served with perfect julienne fries. Generously dosed cocktails and good milkshakes. The person that doesn’t like this place has to be a tofu lover... �

I decided to pay a treat for my girlfriend's birthday. I booked by phone the week before. When we got to the restaurant it was quite busy but our table was ready within a minute. (as it should). The waiter (Gabriel) was great and personnable, he was friendly while still being quite professional. He was great at making sugestions. The food was delightful, My girlfriend had the ribs (which we highly recommend) I had the honey glazed chicken, although the rice was not to my taste I'm sure others might like it. It's not your everyday restaurant, although expensive the food was worth it. Will definitely keep it in mind for out next special occasion.

Visited from Ontario, this restaurant was a recommended to us and I highly recommend. My son had the pork belly sliders and I had the tuna tostada bowl, both were amazing. My son ordered a banana cream pie to take back to the hotel and WOW, the best banana cream pie, so glad I asked for a bite. Wish we had this restaurant in our city.

Very good food, nice presentation , excellent service and classy casual restaurant concept. I would strongly recommend this restaurant and will surely go again!!

We just had the greatest dinner last night - I recommend the Macho salad, with the champagne dressing - huge and delicious. The chocolate cake is to die for and can be shared by 6 people! The staff is EXCELLENT!

Absolutely love this place! Yes it's a little expensive but definitely worth every penny! The menu is creative and fun and very shareable! The ambiance is great for an intimate dinner or a more social bar feel! Definitely going to be coming back to try out the different menu items. Only downside I guess would be that my burger's bun got very soggy and wet underneath which made it very difficult to eat. It did taste great though so I wasn't too unhappy about it!

Awesome spot! We came in last night to get dessert and you guys totally nailed it! We were sitting at the bar and were recommended by Jin (bartender, who is awesome by the way!) to try your homemade doughnuts. They have to be one of the best we've ever had!! Place was gorgeous and nice atmosphere. Absolutely coming back!

OMG! The Black Label! Best burger I ever are in my life! The Bone Marrow mayo is to die for! Our waitress Lisa was just perfect! We'll definitely be back very, very soon! Just wow!

Beau resto, belle ambiance, bon choix dans le menu, portions très généreuses, personnel agréable et intentionné, nous y retournerons. Essayez les beignets au dessert, les won ton mac& cheese, la paella, les calmars frits et mon steak etaient parfaits. Merci au personbel et plus spécialement à Normand Malo et Ryad.

As a visitor from Australia I stumbled upon this place last night for dinner and as a solo dinner I was seated upstairs at a quaint little table and my waiter was very friendly and when time permitted always checked up on me to see if there was anything I needed and asked questions about Australia. I was very happy with both the food and the service and if time allowed I'm sure I would have returned for another meal ��

Im not one who writes reviews for restaurants, So that must mean this place was really good.. I had a wonderful experience, the food was amazing and extremely unique. The drinks were delish and the atmosphere was a great! Highly recommended!!
