Beautiful atmosphere, location, and decor. The server was very pleasant and nice. The food wasn’t impressive for the price.
Started with the Caesar. The house made croutons were very hard and tasted stale.
The Lobster Linguine has very little lobster and the sauce tasted fishy.
The VP Burger was very good. Juicy and flavourful. I would recommend that!
The bread rolls arrived after the main meals and that’s after asking for them twice.
The martini had to be returned the first time and it still wasn’t done right the second time.
It’s too bad because it’s a beautiful place and the patio outside is gorgeous.

We ordered the Santa fe chicken , the lobster bisque and the VP burger.
The chicken dish I highly recommend. Also you cannot go wrong with ordering fries here. The fries are like an elevated version of McDonald's fries cooked and seasoned to perfection. The lobster bisque was average. The restaurant is conveniently located in a great area which allows for walking afterwards.

Offers classic steakhouse dishes with good service and ambiance.
While the meat was cooked well to our requests, the food generally was on the plain side. Everything from the salad, french onion soup, and side vegetables were as much inoffensive as they were bland.
Come here if what you're looking for is a decent steakhouse. Unfortunately your imagination might need to fill in the gap to a good steakhouse. The good ambiance may help with that.

The ambience was beautiful, we were on the second floor and it was very aesthetically pleasing. The food on the other hand was very bland almost tasteless. We went for #HappenjngGourmand so we had the 3 course meal the best part of the meal was the appetizers we had the soup and the crab cake the rest of the meals were subpar at best. The portion soze was above average but the food was to bland to finish. The service was slow. There were some larger groups around us so they were probably more busy with them but still unbearably slow but at least they were nice. Wouldn’t go back to be honest, not worth the price.

Great spot for groups and Its a must try steakhouse in Old port, great vibe, multi floor and antique decor.
For people not eating red meat, you have good seafood choices.Their salmon I tried was over cooked and presentation was flat.Crabe cake was delicious.Little bit Pricey $$$ for what you get.If you order any of their great steaks make sure to ask for their Black Pepper sauce as it’s not given by default…Great wine card and Dessert cart is stacked with good choices.

Great ambience and good service. We didn't have a reservation but got couple of seats when we arrived. Its a huge place so it was easy to get seats. We ordered lamb chops and hangar steak. Both were served with mashed potatoes and some veggies. Both were perfectly cooked. The selection of wines were good too. We tried a Spanish one. For anyone looking for a good steak this is the perfect place.

We went for a special even call happening gourmand and had a fantastic two course breakfast. It was nice to see their quality of food hadn't gone down since the pandemic.

A disappointing steak experience and we will absolutely come back! Confused? Here's the story...we booked online and were seated outside promptly at our request. We ordered a bottle of wine, crab appetizer, I had the Porterhouse and my wife had the Filet medallions. Our server was Rodrigo (sp?) and was very pleasant. We never touched the wine bottle as he was continuously topping us up. Now for the meal...
The crab was dry and overdone so we didn't finish it.
The steaks came, we both ordered our steaks medium. My wife's was perfect but mine was bordering on well done. I mentioned it to the server and he wisked it away for a replacement. The new one came...very rare...not wanting to complain again as I'd already done so twice, I just sucked it up and ate about half. The manager came by, looked at my plate and asked how I had ordered it. I told him medium but I didn't want to complain. He said "my friend, that steak is blue, for $54 you should get exactly what you wanted".
The bill came...only thing on there was the wine! I know kitchens can get busy and mistakes do happen, and because of the tremendous service we received, we will absolutely be back when we are in Montreal again!

We were dining a week ago, everything was spectacular, the food was delicious, from the bread, the onion soup, the meat and the cream bulet ... Angelo was our server and he was very nice and professional all the time...it is a place that I recommend to everyone who visits Montreal. Excellent food and excellent service !!!

There are not enough words I could use to describe how happy I am with the service I received from the Vieux-Port Steakhouse! We were a group of 30 people for a corporate event and we were there from morning till evening. Our event coordinator Beatrice was so fabulous at making this day perfect for us. The restaurant is stunning and perfect for accommodating any size group. The food is delicious!! The staff were attentive and friendly. All in all, it was a perfect day and I highly recommend for any corporate functions or just a dinner on their gorgeous terrace. Thank you so much!

Nous étions un groupe de 15 pour le repas du midi. Nous avons eu accueil chaleureux à notre arrivée et le restaurant est super beau et propre. Jusque là, tout va bien. Notre serveur était sympathique également.
Mon choix s’est arrêté sur le hamburger steak... la viande était dure avec quelques croquants (ce que me dégoûte au plus haut point), la sauce en quantité minime et les frites ultra salées! Ceux qui ont mangé le même plat ont également eu les mêmes commentaires.
Après le repas principal, on aurait dit que notre serveur s’était volatilisé... On nous a jamais offert le café ou thé qui était pourtant inclu avec notre repas. Après une attente interminable, nous nous sommes levés pour montrer que nous devions partir. Le temps du service aura duré deux heures, de notre arrivée à la réception de notre facture.
Je ne suis pas une cliente exigeante et c’est rare que j’émets un commentaire de la sorte. Ça me fait mal au cœur d’écrire ces mots, car je suis convaincue qu’il y des employés dévoués à leur travail dans ce restaurant.

I am thrilled with my experience with this steakhouse and will be back the next time I come to Montreal. It's my boyfriends birthday weekend so we drove from Sudbury, ON to Montreal to celebrate. I made a reservation this week for his birthday and let them know in the special requests it was for a birthday. We arrived and we're seated promptly. Our waiter, George, was magnificent. Funny, charming, & even gave us some great tips for some secret montreal sight seeing. The food was incredible and came out quickly. The manager came by our table twice to ask how our meal was going, and at the end they brought out a piece of cake with a sparkler in it for my boyfriends birthday. Bathrooms are nice and they were clean. Honestly a great experience and we'll worth the money. Until next time. Merci!

We booked on open table and were seated the minute we walked in. We had a great round table on the second floor. I started with a lobster bisque. It was good, but I’ve had better. I did not see any pieces of lobster in the bisque whatsoever. For an entrée I ordered the bone-in ribeye, medium. It was perfect-perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked and perfectly rested. I also ordered a bottle of French rosè which was quite delicious. My husband and my family enjoyed their meals as well. Our waiter was very attentive, and the manager came by a few times to ask how everything was, and to help clear some plates. My only negative, and the reason for four stars, is that the men’s room was filthy. There was literally toilet paper and paper towels everywhere, and some of the toilets needed to be cleaned. I know they were busy, but I expected it to be maintained. We will definitely go back. It was a great meal, with great service, in a great location.
