One of the best sushi restaurants in Mississauga! The food is always fresh and the service is prompt. We always feel welcome when we go there since they personally greet you as you walk in. It’s small but that’s what I like about it. Love this place!
The food here was the best tasting sushi I’ve ever been for. I we’ll define each back again.
Go here. Order Dundas roll, miso soup, and green tea. Outstanding! Tried a few other things too and they were all good. But Dundas roll is tasty and unique. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Very fresh everything. We had shashimi, rolls, and soup and everything was so good. We've lived in the area for 7 years and this is our fist visit. We won't go anywhere else.
My favourite sushi place, whenever I am in the neighbourhood I always eat there.

The Double Dragon Rolls are to die for!
Amazing sushi! I stop by all the time, the only thing that beats the sushis quality is the costumer service!
When it comes to celebrating special occasions, my family is fairly predictable. We always end up at either our favourite Szechuan restaurant, dim sum or with platters of sushi at home. All three restaurants being spots we’ve been visiting for over 15 years. Sehmi Sushi, located in a strip mall on the north west corner of Dundas and Winston Churchill, has been my favourite spot for sushi in Mississauga since high school (a long time ago).
This is the 2nd time we visit here this year. The food was good and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Because we brought our 2 kids, we were asking the Bento to be splitted into 2 smaller pieces. They got it done in the nice way. Everything was splitted including the soup and salad. We had a good family dinner.
I recently started working in the area and was looking for a good sushi place so I tried Sehmi Sushi. Pretty good place with a good selection of bento boxes. I like getting meals that have a sampling of lots of things, tempura, sushi, teriyaki chicken or steak etc. This place fits the bill.
We've tried a ton of sushi places in Mississaga and found our 'go to' place at last. Love the sushi pizza! We ask them to go easy on the rice, as is our habit, and everything is delicious. We find the prices reasonable for the quality, service & ambiance.
Good Food, Bad Service. Food was great but the service was TERRIBLE. Had to CALL the waitress 30 min since we got menus so she would take our order.. Waited another hour to get the food.. Had to remind them 3 times to get our drinks.
Hidden Gem. Let me first start off by saying this - you don't go to AYCE place for true experience of Japanese cuisine.
So stay off from those AYCE joints if you want to try something that's really good.
This place does things right.
I've tried almost all things from sushi, rolls, sashimi plates, rice dishes, noodles, etc.
They will use fresh ingredients that were available from the market during the week - a good evidence is that they don't always carry the type of fish you like, they will only serve if they have a fresh piece in stock.
I am an Uni addict - that is sea urchin roe for those who don't know - and sometimes I have to call ahead to find out if they have them or not.
When they do, I would order as much as I can and dive right in.
Try their grilled salmon head or belly.
You'll get a big chunk of fish that is BBQ-ed just right.
Squeeze some lemon on it and dig away with a cold beer on the side.
There's nothing better.
Was craving jap food so came here after reading reviews on urbanspoon. My bf and I ordered the grilled mackerel, chopped scallop roll and sashimi bento box b. For Toronto standards, we definitely think it's above average for the price range. We liked the chopped scallop roll the most (generous proportion of scallops and roe within the roll with crunchy tempera bits outside of the rice). The shrimp tempera from the sashimi bento box was a little on the small side but was it was freshly fried and didn't have too much batter so it was at least satisfactory. Sashimi was fairly fresh. Grilled mackerel was pretty good too.
Amazing!. I live across the street so calling for take out is what I do!
I'm also gluten free and dairy free so coming here is great when I'm starving and I don't know what to eat.
I get the avocado cucumber roll. They are very polite!
The food is delicious and the price is pretty good!
I definitely recommend checking it out.
Delicious!. I was reluctant to go in (it kind of looks like a strip plaza sushi place...the kind you stay far away from) however, after reading all the great reviews we gave it a go. What a pleasant surprise! The sashimi is the very best I've had in a long time - always fresh and great quality. I highly recommend this restaurant!
I waited 20 mins to get a maki set b & a spicy salmon roll. Very average maki set and decent dragon rolls. We waited 20 minutes with only 3 other customers. Will not come here again. Food is delicious but not worth the wait
Love This Place!. We decided to visit this place after reading reviews on here. Upon walking in, we were guided to a table in the far right hand corner. The place had a few tables filled with customers. The decor was very sleek and appealing, I loved it! The server came to greet us and gave us menus. We ordered the chicken and beef bento boxes. First, we were given bowls of miso soup. The soup were in medium-sized bowls and tasted incredible! After we finished our soup, our meals came within 15 minutes. The bento boxes were filled with food, and it cost only $12.95 per box! Each box had chicken (or beef), salad, eight pieces of sushi, and mixed vegetables. We were stuffed after all that we ate! The food tasted incredible! Everything was fresh and moist, I wasn't disappointed with anything that we ate. I would definitely return to this place and I would recommend it to anyone.
Food was amazing. Very nice people, gave us free salmon sashimi. Nice atmosphere, definite recommend.
My fiancée and I eat sushi 1-2 times per week and we absolutely love Sehmi. The sushi and sashimi is always fresh and the soups and salads are done well. They have the BEST volcano roll in the entire city and I would reccommend it any day of the week. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the chef is generous with portions!
I stumbled across this restaurant by accident. It is the BEST sushi I have had in years. The restaurant decor is a bit simple/ plain, but it is nice and sunny with a calm, peaceful environment. Met the owner-she was lovely. Have been back 3 times since - all 3 times were peaceful, yummy and at a super price.
The food was very tasty but it was a little expensive.

Delicious specialty rolls. If you like specialty rolls, then this is definitely where you want to be. The menu is affordable and all of the food is prepared with great care. The rolls come out displayed as pieces of edible art. Although I have never been during a particularly busy period, the service I received when I have been was always polite and quick. I've been going on and off for 6 years now (even when it was previously a different-named sushi place), and I have no reason to stop.
Small interior but very friendly & prompt service. Food was good and bill was reasonable. My only beef would be that aside from the size the interior decoration is very plain compared to some places. I would definitely come back though.
Been going here for 5 years now, recently bought out by semhi but still has the best service, not a long wait for your meal and the most delicous sides ever, ebi sonomo or however u spell it is so good. One of my favourite restaurants in sauga no doubt!
A Delicious Mess. This place has been through a couple iterations as a sushi place and I recently went back for the first time in maybe three years. I used to love eating the sushi here, and was ready to love it again. I was not disappinted. The sushi is still excellent--fresh, well-constructed and well-balanced.
The problem, at least on this Friday night, was the slow service and long wait times for food. An inexperienced waitress was the only server, and as much pep as she had, she couldn't easily navgate the poorly laid-out room ( portable walls divide it length-wise, which is unnecessary in such a small restaurant) and she wasn't familiar with the different types of fish when ordering sushi a la carte.
I would return to Sehmi in a heartbeat, but perhaps during off-hours.
