Review Zaaffran Kitchen - Mississauga

Helmi Ansari
Very average food. Not well seasoned , and quite oily. Limited breakfast menu. The chick pass (cholas) were very oily and hard to eat. The naan was good but that's about it. Even the tea was not well made lacking flavor. It's a very messy place and could use improved housekeeping. Not worth it. I'm not going back. Two stars as service was friendly , price was low, and naan was good. Rest was not so good at all. My drink glass had a lipstick stain on it. Disgusting.

Absolutely loved it. Wonderful service and the food was amazing. Halal food with essence of pure Pakistani Lahori food. Very courteous staff and clean. They even served complimentary salad.

First time been to this restaurant, orderd Nihari, while waiting for my order, I was checking reviews, surprised to see number of bad reviews which includes bad customer service and food quality, I had to wait there for 25 mins for one nihari and two naans, asked the guy how long, he replied making naans. Some other customers came and wait time increased. Two new owners were there busy in gupshup, apparently did not care why customer are waiting. Came home, tasted nihari and guess what, so much disappointment. What a tasteless Nihari. Now I know why there were so many bad reviews. Hope they improve the food quality and service. For sure not going there again.

Ordered take out food on Jan 26th around 4:50pm from Zaffran Kitchen because the reviews looked pretty good. Poor service We waited in the restaurant for 34 minutes and received cold butter chicken with two bare drum sticks worth of meat, terrible. No apologies or nothing. Quantity For $10.99 on butter chicken, I I'm paying for the meat not the sauce. To hide how little meat was there, they filled the container all the way to the top with sauce. The amount of chicken was the size of a baby food container. Quality Flavours are there, but nothing to rave over. The fish tikka was extremely salty, and the food was cold like it came fresh from the freezer Conclusion I would not recommend this place with a two-foot poll.

So I went with my family because its fairly new. I believe its only been a year and we were recommended by my local Pakistani grocers because they went too. The food is very good. It's not that pricey because the quantities are generous. I would recommend the chicken Karahi. And for a dine in, they have it down pat. The waitress was very nice and kept her attention on us if we needed anything. And my little sister likes their zinger combo. Overall great dine in experience especially family friendly, good service and would recommend to anyone.

I can not believe why some the review was very low. Weekend breakfast Buffet is simply supper. Food is excellent and very taste. customer service is friendly and fast. This is one of my favourite Indian restaurant in Mississauga. I definitely recommended others try this place at lease one.

This place, quite simply, sucks. Even the one star is more or less charity, and is the minimum I could give. In actuality it deserves no Stars. So we ordered biryani for 16 people, what we got was a tray over flowing with rice. First of all the rice itself was not cooked properly, and was extremely cold. There was little-to-no chicken in the entire tray. I felt quite embarrassed as I had several guests over who I had ordered for, and they were left scouring the entire tray for chicken and couldn't find any. After seeing this I called the restaurant and informed them, but their customer service was absolutely horrendous. The individual went on to tell me that he had confirmed with his colleague (who had prepared the Biryani) that he had indeed ensured that there was a fair amount of chicken in the tray. Short of calling me a liar, he was extremely rude, and didn't even apologize. The only thing worse than this food was the customer service. And to make matters worse while I was still on the phone this incredibly rude and despicable excuse of a human being just hung up. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save yourself the guaranteed disappointment and headache, lots better Pakistani food restaurants around to order from for sure.

This is my go to place for Pakistani food. If you want fresh and delicious authentic Pakistani food this is the place to go. I have never been disappointed in all my times coming here. The food is always tasty and they are always willing to change up the dish to your liking. My 6 year old will only have butter chicken from here because they will make it to suit her spice level. You will not be disappointed if you come here. I have gotten to know the owner Asif and you cannot find a more genuine and humble person. I can assure you will not be disappointed if you try this place out.

They do not stand behind the quality of their food. Terrible customer service, took over 45 minutes for the food to come, and the food was under cooked, and the biryani had too much salt. When confronted, they completely disregarded anything we had to say, knowing full well that they served us less than adequate food. Anyone wanting to go to this horrible restaurant, do so at your own risk. There are many other South Asian restaurants in Mississauga that far better in service and quality than this horrid restaurant. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !

Went here for Suhoor (around 2am), we were about 7-10 guys so we ordered quite a bit of food. The various dishes came 15 minutes apart, some cold. The quality of the food was poor, it seemed like old/unfresh food they had partially heated up. Portions were quite small as well.

Overall experience was pretty poor unfortunately

Went to this restaurant with friends for breakfast buffet, price was $11.99 and for that you get Halwa/puri, pays and nihari breakfast with unlimited Paris & naan.

Taste was good and they were able to handle large crowds at a time. Place is small so got kind of tight with large number of people, however the wait staff were fast and responsive.

Overall it was a good experience.

Went to Zaaffran Kitchen on recommendation from a colleague. I loved the kadahi chicken. Its definitely worth every cent. My veggie friends suggested even dal makhani and paneer kadahi is nice. They take spl care of guests, we were offered Kheer as a complimentary sweet dish!! Thanks for that. One suggestion for improvement- please make washrooms cleaner.

FOOD:
I had come here on a Monday evening at around 6:00 pm for dinner; I had settled on the Butter Chicken With Naan ($11.99). I noticed that the dishes, cutlery, and cups were all placed on the table when I had sat down. I was then given a pitcher of water by the server, whom poured it into my glass, and left it on the table for me to drink from (the only downfall was that the water was room-temperature, with no offer of ice to add to the glass).

I was impressed with how large of a dish the Butter Chicken came in, along with the many pieces of Naan that I was given along with it. The only thing that I found about the Butter Chicken was that the chicken pieces were a bit small, and there weren’t too many of them; also, some of them tasted a bit bland. Otherwise, the sauce was quite good, and the Naan was equally as delicious, warm and doughy (just the way I like it). Definitely a large portion size which kept me full for many hours afterwards.

ATMOSPHERE:
When I had walked-into this restaurant, I was the only guest there. There were many tables that had ‘Reserved’ signs on them. When I was greeted upon walking-in by a kind younger gentleman at the front, I had asked him if I could sit anywhere I liked. I ended up sitting in one of the booths with the ‘Reserved’ sign as I was told I could sit there. The restaurant seemed to be a bit overcrowded with tables and chairs however, it was manageable since I was the only one there. There were also people coming-in and out for take-out as opposed to dining-in.

SERVICE:
When I sat down, the younger gentleman whom greeted me upon my arrival came to take my order (the menu was already on the table when I had sat down). He then brought me the water first, then my food items after about ten minutes. He also came to ask me how I was enjoying my meal as I was dining, something which I thought was kind of him to do. When I was finished however, I kept looking in his direction as he was talking to a co-worker however, he didn’t notice me, with the co-worker noticing me, and me having to say that I was finished. Definitely pretty-good service for the most part.

COST:
1 Butter Chicken With Naan: $10.99 + Tax = $13.55 (Taxes Included)

WOULD YOU RETURN?
I found the food to be pretty-good however, I probably wouldn’t return anytime soon.
