Super friendly owners and we always enjoy the food when we’re in the area! Our go tos would be the hokkien mee, hor fun and satay! Don’t skip out on the wok hei, as it makes the dishes. A little taste of home in the GTA :) Also, would highly recommend coming with a group to get in on their chilli crab!!

This is the first time back ever since the old owners retired and the place looks nice after some renovations.
I find the food lacks consistency now unlike before.
We ordered a few items to share.
- Ngoh Hiang (minced pork rolls with beancurd)
- Thai Fried Chicken
- Char Kway Teow (Dry fried flat rice noodle)
- Hainanese Chicken Rice
- Hokkien Mee (Wok fried yellow and rice noodle)
- Laksa
- Sago Gula Melaka (Sago pearls coconut cream and palm sugar)
Right now dine in is cash only and if you want to pay using credit card you need to order through their website and pay through there.
Service is good staff is friendly.
Hopefully the food will be mor consistent the next time and we will be coming back more often for sure.

Finally tried Lion City restauarant and it was really worth it. We ordered the Hainanese Chicken, Beef Satay, Lion City Meehon Noodles and also the Grilled Fish in Banana Leaf. It was our first time, so we ordered just this 4 items. I love the juicy chicken, complemented by their ever famous scallion-ginger sauce. The Meehon Noodles was a first time for me and it was actually a good call. It looked so simple but packed a lot of flavor. The highlight for us was the grilled fish, twice cooked.....crunchy goodness and packs a punch in terms of spice level. Service is fast and cordial. Super highly recommended folks!

Ordered delivery last night via UberEats. The order arrived hot and bursting with deep aromas! We haven't been here in a long time, so it was like trying everything new. We got: Rendang (with bone-in goat), Hainanese Chicken, Grilled Fish in banana leaf, and for dessert: Sticky Rice with mango.
Review of each:
1. The Rendang was super flavourful! The other protein option is boneless beef BUT if you like game-ier meats I highly recommend the goat! It just adds even more flavour to the dish.
2. Hainanese Chicken was delicious. Comes with house-made sauces and the chicken was very fresh and tender. We wanted more. Next time will order the larger portion.
3. Grilled Fish in Banana Leaf: THE BEST DISH of the meal! Incredible flavour, spicy, and the texture is crunchy on the outside, with tender and moist meat inside. Bones are edible.
4. Sticky Rice with Mango: classic pairing of sweet and sour/tart flavours! A bit smaller portion than I expected but the sticky rice is super filling.
Can't wait to come back and try other dishes!

One of the most Traditional places to have Singaporean food. We ordered Laksa which is a coconut curry broth soup with egg noodles. We also ordered the Carrot cake extra crispy. The food and service was absolutely amazing!!

Been before pre-covid, came back again Saturday around 4pm. Quite surprised it was empty with one other family. But I enjoyed the peace and quiet along with good food
Ordered the laksa and beef rendang with coconut rice. Laksa flavors were great, well spiced with a tiny kick. Wish it was more but that's just me. Also noticed the toppings are prepared separately and placed on top as opposed to integrated in the soup
Loved the beef rendang. Perfect comfort food with the rice and could eat all day long.
Service and team are extremely nice. Environment felt like a nice home. You pay by cash or "order online to pick up" but they just deliver it to your table. Not a big deal but just worth noting

Some very tastsy and authentic Singaporean foods! The Hokkien Mee and Satay were especially goood. And service was fairly quick for a rather packed and busy long weekend. Would come again! 🤤🤤🤤

We went for lunch and were pleased with the dishes: the Sayur Lodeh was flavourful, the Char Kwey Teow was authentically delicious and the Beef Rendang was tender and well spiced. We finished with Kopi Tarek, traditional Singapore style coffee. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a lovely Singapore food experience in an unpretentious location. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

I went there to celebrate a birthday with my family of 7. The food was good. The service was terrible. We seated ourselves, they only had a single waitress who didn't speak English at all and kept having to refer to her boss . This was the first restaurant where I actually had to ask to get plates and water. They brought out the dishes one by one some 15 mins apart.
The good news I heard, is that this place is coming under new management and will be closing on March 1st to renovate. Hopefully the new owner will make the necessary changes to improve the food and service. Best of luck.

Born Malaysian and raised in Singapore , I have an acute taste for what is authentic and what is not.
Lion City restaurant was equal as authentic food when Vivian and her husband owned it BUT NOW ITS NOT !
New owner ! New cook ! Not authentic Singaporean or Malaysian !
The food taste same as local Chinese food . And the price is expensive ! You should spend the money at Mandarin buffet for more varieties !
If you are Malaysian & Singaporean ,I won't recommend this place anymore !
I m very disappointed
Why this new owner misusing the restaurant name !
It not more Singaporean restaurant anymore !
Thumbs down

Singapore Chili Crab.
That's pretty much all you need to know about this place.
Order it. You won't regret it.

Food taste has gone down since I last visited. This new place looks like a plain canteen. No decos to show that it is a restaurant setting from the Lion City (Singapore).
Suggested tip is 15%? Bad and greedy and no service was provided too.
