I stopped by Charlie’s while out in Mississauga. I got the lunch special jerk chicken for about 9 bucks with tax. It came with rice and peas and a bit of coleslaw. I saw a couple of reviews that said the chicken was undercooked so obviously I looked out for that. What I got was at a minimum yesterday’s chicken and rice that resembled steel cut oats clumped together. It was a totally gross. The flavour is still making me gag, it tastes awful. I cannot believe they kept a straight face while they served up that food. I’ll bet they are laughing their behinds off back there wondering why anybody would buy their food, and let me tell you I never will again. This is a no go zone. #petfoodtakeout.

we use to go to Charlies often prior to the pandemic. Food was always great. This weekend we ordered 2 large orders to go of ox and rice and curry chicken. Spent over $40 but we were disappointed. Prices are higher food portions smaller and it was dry. I like this place and hope that it does go back to the quality it once had. Will try it again and decide if it will be a restaurant of choice.

We ordered several large trays of food from Charlie’s for a family party! The food was excellent, the service was excellent…they had everything ready to go on time and packed up. The pepper shrimp was a huge hit. Will for sure order from here again.

Bought 2 beef soup today also an order of blackpudding. The soup had no taste whatsoever. Absolutely no salt nor any meat. All i got was a big chunk of bone in it. The provision are all hard and undercooked. The blackpudding is very few pieces with a tiny amount of pepper sauce in it. Not worth the money at all. Drop in quality.

I got the curried goat with coleslaw and a side of rice and gravy. I was so shocked that the food had no taste. The goat was moist and juicy but there was noooo flavour. Not even the rice was salted yaaaaaaw. Why was I under the impression that Charlie’s was good. They are not seeing my money again. Stinkfoot

Went here today round 5pm to buy some dalpourie, thyme, scallions, salt beef and some curry. I was planning on Cookin some stew peas. Walking out I could smell the food cookin next door at Charlie's restaurant.
Ordered up a goat dinner and chicken roti.
As a chef that trained under a Jamaican chef, I'm no stranger to great Jamaican meals.
We LOVED EVERY BITE! You can taste the pimento berries, the Thyme, the coconut milk... the goat fell abart with tenderness. The chicken was beautiful. Whomever cooked these dishes loves their food and it shows in their talent! I asked when they'll open up their dining room again and the sweet woman that served me said "soon I think". Soon I think, I'll be back with enough friends to fill that dining roon!

Charlies has amazing food and excellent service. They catered for both my hindu wedding and reception for over three hundred people in 2013. Everything was amazing and people still comment and rave about how good the food was at both events. Their high standards , timeliness, great value and top notch service are second to none. They are my family's go to restaurant not just for lunch or dinner but any function we have. They helped to make my wedding a memorable event and great success and I cannot thank them enough!

Very disappointed with staff and manager!! Staff is not aware of catering menu and I was completely misinformed. Food is extremely overpriced and catering menu is a rip off. Disgusted!!

Came here today and got mixed veggie roti to go. Took a while to get it but at least it was hot and fresh. Now as far as the food quality - I found the roti pretty bland and the veggies were just not really my thing - altogether I wasn't too crazy about it - but it wasn't terrible I just am not a huge fan of Caribbean food in general just thought I would try something new... Might try something else next time

Good Food. I just came to the resturant wanting Caribbean food this is the best place by far to get it. They have reasonable prices and their food is not disappointing. I ordered rice and curry chicken and i loved it everytime i go there i order something different because they have good varieties of good food.

Horrible food,purchased doubles and phulorie. The doubles smelt and tasted sour clearly it was sitting out for a long time and went bad. When I called the restaurant to give feedback I was told "that's how we make our food and if you don't like it dont come back here". Clearly this establishment knows nothing about customer service. This restaurant needs to be investigated by the health authorities.

Foodie. Ordered ox tail with rice with veg and fried fish as take out. Ox tail was very tasty, but the ox tail portions were scraps at best. The fried fish was a very small portion and very salty that I had two bites. Had better Caribbean food in kensington market.

Heard about this place through urbanspoon, decided to try it out. It's not in the best area on Mississauga but don't let the location fool you. My Jamaican friend was really impressed by the quality and freshness of the food. Had the jerk chicken and curried goat roti, they were incredible, will definitely be going back!

Went here today at about 12:30 pm, there were quite a few ppl coming in for lunch. I ordered the Goat Roti with Dahlpuri and Oxtail stew with rice & beans, and it was very tasty and well seasoned. Roti was hot & fresh, and the meats were succulent. Will definately recommend and visit again!!

It is worth the drive. It is worth the ride from downtown Toronto out to Mississauga to eat here. I grew up eating Guyanese cooking but aside from "the black pudding lady" the food at Charlie's is much much better. The service is really nice too.<br/><br/>I really like the doubles (not oily at all) in addition to the fresh roti.

Best curried chicken roti!. This unassuming restaurant is located on a strip plaza in Mississauga. If it weren't for my sister's suggestion, I would never have discovered it. Food is made to order and because it's family owned, the service is warm and personable. <br/><br/>The curried chicken roti is seriously the best I've had. You have the choice of having it with prata or daal puri; I chose the prata. The prata was fresh and the chicken pieces were tender and flavourful. I am usually not a big fan of doubles, but the doubles sold here are exceptional. The fried dough manages to be fluffly and non-greasy. <br/><br/>This place is a revelation; will definitely return to try other things on their menu.
