Review Sweetindia Restaurant - Mississauga

As soon as we entered the restaurant , the people working there gave us a weird look . We greeted them and asked if we can dine in, and girls working at the restaurant started whispering in each other’s ears when we asked this question. And did not responded to us properly. It was really weird. For food we ordered samosa chole, spring rolls , panjeeri and tea. Samosa chole and tea was good but spring rolls tasted pathetic. It felt like they gave us stale and burnt food. Overall we did not have a good experience.

Are you serious guys????? 😡 I found piece of metal in my vindalo goat. I chewed it by mistake and hurt my teeth. Very unprofessional. You people are going to make someone die with your food. It is very dangerous. I am going to sue you guys.

I went with high hopes for samosas. Potatoes were a little hard and the filling was overall tasteless. The outer layer was very thick i could taste the dough. I saw the gujhiya and they looked so tempting that i ordered 4 pieces. Bad decision. It was stale and so hard i had to throw it away. Never going there again

We have been coming here for years and we are big fans of the food. Our fav dish is the butter chicken but also the aloo gobi and the samosas are delicious! The owner is a very hardworking man who is almost always in the store when we are there. We drive from the other end of Mississauga regularly to visit this place and have never been disappointed.

If you're ordering the goat vindaloo, DON'T! We ordered 3 goat vindaloo last week. All 3 were cooked unevenly. Some pieces of meat were soft while others were hard (not biteable). Last time I visited them was couple years ago when the owner was manning the cash register. It appears that quality has dropped.

We bought biryani and butter chicken for take out last Friday and all of us had a bad case of food poisoning. It was brutal. We tried to complain about it but was told manager wasn’t there. Beware! You have been warned. We will not order from there again and have warned everyone we know.

The place was super busy on the weekend we went well after the lunch hour. The place is fairly clean. The staff not knowledgeable about what goes in their food, was extremely hard to get what had dairy in their dishes. Most dairy is quite obvious as many dishes have paneer. However if the Mixed Vegetable Curry or the Chickpeas (Chole) has butter or not, it took a long time. The food for the rest of the family was good. I had to get a roti (a West Indian item) in an East Indian restaurant. The prices are OK and the food generally tasted good. Would love to go back, however if they knew and come up with answers it would have been so much better.

The quality of samosas has gone down badly. As soon as you eat u will get heart burn..throat burn and acidity. 1 year before it was good not now.most possibly they are refrying the samosas which u can see from the colour .. and also they might be reusing the fried oil. Me and my husband , we both got severe throat burn and upset stomach after 1 hour of eating. Will never try again. Please dont re fry your samosas. ..

If you wanna try very affordable Indian food on the go- this is the place. Variety is good. Food was good too. Value for money for sure. Seating arrangement isn't the best though. The tables are bit crowded for the space available. If you don't care about people eavesdropping on you while you munch, then this is the place for you.

Let's come to the reason I visit most of the Indian restaurants- CHAI. Masala Chai to be precise. Desi Masala Chai to be precisely precise.

This place would have been a 5 on 5 if tea didn't disappoint. No other place in Toronto serves Masala Chai for as low as $1.50. It was the desi style made chai. (Boiling water and milk along with other ingredients) The quantity was huge.
BUT BUT BUT... They poured me the tea from a jug. The tea wasn't that fresh. Appeared to be re heated and stagnant for bit longer. Disappointed bit. Had it been freshly out of pot it would have been amazingly delicious. But I understand the outlet is too busy all the time and making one cup tea when tons of other people are waiting for food is bit difficult. But again... that's why you are their for service and if chai is not being treated with same respect then disappointment is inevitable.

Sorry I was bit harsh. Food was delicious and in plenty for the price I paid. Improving tea serving quality can definitely help. Thanks.

Happy Eating.

I and my wife visited this place. The lady host at the counter looked tired and had a grumpy face. No smile at all. The menu card on the website is outdated and all the items are priced much higher. The portions they serve are very stingy and not worth the price. My wife ordered a Veg thali which cost around $10 but the quantity of the 3 vegetables served was too less. The taste also was not at all good. We would have rather visited another place and enjoyed a sumptuous buffet at the same price. We will never visit the place again. There are many better options in Mississauga & Brampton.

This place is an AVOID at all costs.

Thinking about this place makes me nostalgic; it's been over 12 years since I have been there...fast food style indian sweets & selection of savoury items...their bhatura used to be awesome & is what made us frequent the place when my Dad was around...

Good and OK. Went to Sweet India for the first time. The owners / employees are very nice. They are opening a new location in the same plaza in the next few months. The samosas, pakoras and sweets were delicious. I enjoyed the sweets as they had much less sugar than other indian sweet places I've tried. I found the naan bread to be soft and "humid" and did not tear easily. The dishes had decent flavour to them but could not compare to the quality at tandoori time on Albion. I will be back for samosa's/pakora's/sweets as they were great.

Great food @ an unbeatable price, friendly staff and owner!. The food and restaurant was basic but well prepare. Tastes authentic and simple, and the prices are hard to beat. The portion size was good - no cheaping out here. The sweets were also very nice and fresh.
The best part is the owner and staff - they were very nice and warm. Even though this is really a fast food joint, it felt like family. I'd definitely reccommend this place and will go back!!!

Best samosas!. Been going here with my family since I was a kid! I love this place! I've never tasted samosas that even came close to how good these are.

We love Sweet India. Very reasonable and fast. Best Chahna and 30 samosas frozen for take out $9.99. Can't beat that!

Great butter chicken!. Title says it all! The low price does not reflect the quality and taste of the food, which was incredible. Excellent portion sizes too, when they say 1 serving, they mean it!

I have been going to this place for almost 15 years. They have amazing food for low prices.
