Review Daal Roti - Mississauga

Absolute gem of a place. One of the best Indian restaurants in Canada. The naan here is the best I've ever tasted. Food looks, smells and tastes amazing! 🤩.The service is top notch, ambience is comfy and very calming. Will definitely visit again, hopefully very soon!

Both me and my wife are a all time foodie and we keep exploring for the best available indian food option in GTA. This time while browsing on the google maps we located this spot and decided to give it a try. We checked if prior reservation was required or not and it turned out it was first come first serve basis. After reaching the restaurant and the staff quickly verified our vaccination status and got us seated. I observed that they were ensuring that other customers keep their mask up until they were seated. The menu was via a QR code installed on the table. We asked the server for his suggestion and then order for a Vada Pav, Kadahi Chicken, Paneer Kalimari (or paneer kalimirch), laccha paratha and naan. The vada pav was a complete disappointment as it wasn't close to an authentic vada pav. It was a fried vada inside a burger instead of pav with some garlic chutney inside and a green chutney on the side. The Vada also didn't seems to be fresh. The paneer dish was good however we had to ask for some extra salt. Kadahi Chicken was also good with all the masala and chicken was cooked very well. The chicken pieces would break easily and was very soft. The Naan and the laccha parantha was also good but were very small in size. The combined portion of the both the curries was enough for two people dinner. The prices were omitted from the menu which was quite strange for such a restaurant. There was a significant difference in the prices shown on menu in Google Maps photo and what they actual charge. The prices were a bit on higher side compared to the quality and quantity of food served and compared to the other restaurants in similar category. Would I go again? I would maybe if I don't feel like driving far for a better restaurant or If I were bring in some friends for dinner.

‘ Five stars ke baad char Chand milate hai apko’ ie this restaurant deserves and earns more than five stars. Food is wholesome, tasty, delicious and above all top notch. Only an chef can decipher the ingredients used as just can sum up as worth your time and money. Just go and have food anytime with friends, family or groups. Takeaway options available. Ample parking. A fine dining restaurant, courteous staff and service with best food items. Enjoy.

The service is amazing and love that everything is more up to date with the pandemic. The portions were perfect and the spice level was great for kids. Definitely recommend to come to this place. Has many authentic Indian dishes and some have a modern twist to it. Very clean.

I found plastic in my food! The service and taste of food was good but it’s hard to believe that a piece of plastic passed through quality check! I had the weekday lunch buffet and the variety of food was good.

This is our go to spot for Indian Food in Mississauga. There Daal Makhani is to die for 🤤. Pav Bhaji was really good too, but we felt like pav was less as compare to bhaji which was served. Otherwise, amazing food.

NOTHING IS GOOD HERE. I will start from restaurant, the entrance door area stinks which make ugly welcome. The table had sticky residue from cleaner which caused unnecessary attention. Staff- when I went there, they had only one person who was serving all the tables hence extreme delay even to get water Food- ugh!! Nightmare, blend. I tried cheese butter masala, butter roti, lassi and vada pav. Nothing was worth to try. Let me give you comparison, SWad’s frozen vada pav is better than this. Cheese butter masala was very blend and lots of garam masala you can clearly see kasuri methi which was not crushed that will literally burn your chest. Please try to avoid this restaurant

Ordered Biryani from here with high expectations since their rating was 9+ on online ordering app. I did regret my decision once I had the first bite. A very spicy biryani. I like spicy food so Spice with flavor would still have been a plus for me, but each bite just gave burning sensation. To top it there were lots of garam masala chunks which added to the hotness. Even adding ghee did not cut out the spice. Also for some reason it had too many long strips of half cooked onion.. Not sure if it was due to weekend rush, but I expected much better. Experience was not at all worth the money & rating.

Is someone going to come and take our order or should I stand up from my table and place the order myself? Even if this is the last place on earth , I'll suggest my friends to try cannibalism !

We had ordered for Corn fritters for starters and paneer lababdar for main course. Starters was good but maim course was horrible. Too much flavour and salt too. The portion was good for one person only.

This restaurant gave my friends and family all food poisoning on New Year’s day. We came to dinner on New Year’s eve night, and the food seems fine until hours later my sister felt horrible and she was hospitalized after finding out she was fun. Early morning I felt horrible and later on in the day I got messages from Friends and family that they were feeling horrible all night and one of them is going to urgent care right now. All I want to say is I am just disappointed. You ruined many peoples New Year’s Day, this is how they are in 2019 started.

I visited the place on November 23, 2018. It took them 15 min to give us a table in an empty restaurant. The butter chicken had absolutely zero chicken in it and the goat curry had zero goat in it. When we asked the staff they said they are aware of it but no change or apology at all. The food tasted great otherwise, the nan was good.

The menu was very amazing and delicious as they serve your dish fresh from the kitchen. The service at the restaurant is very good as they come to you the second you need them.I would rate this restaurant 10 stars if I can!!👍😀

We been there yesterday for birthday party, i loved this place so much, i loved their food most of all presentation of food, their menu.. <br/>ok ok lets come to reviews now,<br/>We were 6 people,<br/>Order was appetizers- tikki chat with chana, lady in pink, dahi tikki n vada pav.<br/>Tikki chat with chana tastes like backhome authentic taste, presentation was so good.<br/>Lady in pink is beetroot patty filled with creamy cheese so different and delicious, must try(they say they serve in heart shape but it was round, ignore it but must try)<br/>Dahi tikki is kinda another different think hung curd patty, loved it<br/>And drinks sweet lassi, mango lassi ,pop and sweet lime soda, every drink was worth ordering especially mango lassi n sweet lime taste so good<br/>For main course navratan korma, bhindi masala, special kadai paneer, dal tadka and raita.<br/>We find servings are small especially raita serving is so small.<br/>But it taste good, i loved bhindi masala, dal tadka were really good, i dont like navratan korma much. Kadai paneer was little spicy for me. <br/>They have different variety of naans to we ordered like mix of everything garlic, spicy, aloo naan and plain naan. I liked aloo n spicy naan.<br/>Here comes desert paan kulfi, mango kulfi, rajbhog n sizzling brownies.i am telling you sizzling brownie n paan kulfi are in my list for everytime i visit there. Amazing food ! This was my first time at the restaurant , I loved the food. Place added to my favourites. Sizzling brownie with ice creams was excellent .Hoping to visit again soon

We went here on a friend's recommendation for the amazing "Daal" and it lived up to every single word of praise. <br/><br/>We started off with the appetizer of "Sev Puri" which was totally amazing. The spice, the lime and the crunchiness of the sev and the puri were great. For the main, we went for their signature Daal Tadka and Achaari Baigan along with some Rotis. Daal Tadka truly lived up to the reputation. The smokey flavor provided that extra bit of heat to the Daal along with all the spices. Absolutely loved it. Achaari Baigan was also amazing. The similar smokey flavor was found in Achaari Baigan too but due to different ingredients and a few different mixes of spices, it didn't really become a repetition. <br/><br/>The ambiance of the place is good. Very family friendly and have a decent seating capacity. The staff was nice in general although we had a bit of incident at the beginning as we entered the restaurant and for a couple of minutes none of the staff members came to attend us and get us seated - contrary to common practice. Later on, we were told that it would have been fine for us to come and just grab the seat - something not expected in this type of restaurant. <br/><br/>Overall, it's a great place to have a meal with family. Definitely, the place to go if you are a Daal-lover!!

Decent food at reasonable prices. They carry most of the Indian dishes you can think of . Service is something that can be worked on. Will be back sometime to try their buffet!

Be careful with takeout if you don't want "chicken" biryani with only 3 small pieces of chicken and "fish" curry with only 2 small pieces of fish. Their quality of food and service has slowly but surely deteriorated. At this place, customer is not king so don't bother to complain. Clearly, success has gone to their heads. There are lots of other/new Indian restaurants in Mississauga/Brampton so go ahead and explore and give this one a skip.

I visited Daal Roti for the first time and had a decent experience. I did not really enjoy the paneer tinka as it was too dry and wasn't succulent as it is supposed to be. The daal tadka was nice but a bit spicy and the chicken main course we ordered was nice and flavorful. The chicken was tender and of good quality. I'll visit again and give this place another try sometime in the future. Hope to have a better experience.

Best punjabi food i ever had in GTA. Good ambience with great food. Staff is friendly but in terms of service they are very slow especially during busy days. Must try paneer kalameri and tawa pulav.

The wait is always long but that just lets you know the food is amazing !! Their Pan Kulfi is to die for .. I have not been to their buffet yet and only tried ala carte .. a perfect mix of all Indian cuisines and various options to chose from . A must visit place if you like to try Indian !!

Great place, great service, great food. We liked almost everything. We celebrated our daughter's bday there and it was a memorable experience. All the dishes in the buffet were amazing. Our guests appreciated the place, food and service. All thanks to Hitesh and Payal for making it a special day for our family. Kudos to all and thanks again for a good experience.

This was the perfect dining experience, every aspect was amazing. The food was wonderful, service was great and the ambiance of the place is just fantastic! recommended to friends and they had the excellent experience too. (To be remembered- great experience)

Absolutely the best indian restaurant in the city. Prices are surprisingly very affordable too. Especially given the quality of the food and has great friendly staff to boot. They seem to take pride in their work.<br/>Will visit again soon.

I went here post new year and the food was okay but need to tell that all of us at home had stomach flu after our lunch on 02 Jan 2017. My friend had experienced similar issue in this place.

This was my second visit at Daal Roti, first time dining in. I remember meeting the owner Payal who is very pro active and attentive to the demands of most customers. We ordered butter chicken, chicken lababdar, baingan(eggplant) patiala, chicken biryani and lachcha parathas. I remember relishing the Tadka Daal(tempered lentils) last time and that is also highly recommended. Food and service were both very good and reasonably priced. Please do not go there without a reservation as it's really busy. Thanks to Payal and her team for looking after us and giving us an amazing dining experience.

Disappointed by food and service.<br/><br/>Went there on weekdays, there were only three tables occupied, the service was worst ever.<br/><br/>The food took for ever, we had to ask multiple times to get it served.<br/><br/>We ordered paneer kadhai, and they served worse paneer dish ever.<br/><br/>It looked like an over fried paneer with onion and garlic!<br/><br/>Over hyped place, I have been to many restaurants in Brampton which are far better than this place.<br/><br/>Don't ever go to this place, unless you wanna spoil your dinner plan.

Had excellent food in a long time. Kofta masala is amazing. Staff is very courteous. Will go again to try other dishes. Recommend everyone to try at least once.

A nice place. They have elaborate buffet items which are good in taste as well. I tried their Indian dishes including the desserts and also the cheese fries they had was fantastic.

I have been to first Indian restaurant in Toronto. Food was good in terms of quality. Quantity was not that grt. Service was good and staff was very good at service. Don't expect food you get in India but you can enjoy it. Don't go in rush hours you might have to wait for long.

Daal Roti at the new location is great for the food and service. The place has great decor and lighting. Staff is attentive and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend. Try the methi muttar malai or paneer kalamiri in veg and all the chicken  dishes are great. Enjoy!

Amazingly Passionate Food.. I and my wife went in for a causal dinner, but hadn't figured we'd be eating such amazing food. The dishes we ordered were " paneer tikka, cheese butter masala, masala papad, chicken tikka and paan kulfi. You could literally feel the passion put into our dishes from a unique dynamic duo "Husband and Wife". Simply remarkable a must eat place!!!! Pls enjoy!!!

**** PLEASE DONOT GO HERE**** Poor Service. I bought some starters for lunch today and was surprised to find a silver thin wire inside the food. They were ready to replace the food but was not at all happy with the quantity they provide for that price. This little place needs to be renovated and you will never get the quantity for the price you pay for. The lady here needs to work on customer skills, Very poor service. Buffet is good but again sometimes they rip off people by saying different lunch buffet prices. Lunch Take out price is at times less and at times they charge you more. I am definitely not going here again in my life and donot recomend anyone to go here.

Pickup Time 6.00 p.m. - We call at 5.30 p.m : Does Food Ready ? Answer : Yes it's all ready to take. We reach there sharp at 6.00 p.m.<br/>surprizingly people like user there were few more waiting in line!!! some get their half of food and some waiting for one item... and we reach that wtih the hope of food ready!!! but it was totally garbage arrangement - Not a single person food was ready to delivered.<br/><br/>We haven't had choice as people gather @ our house for party. We waited almost one and half hour but at the end of day it was rush time ... and they didn't give us one of the item "Raita" with Biriyani!! <br/><br/>Long Story in Short for "THE WORST UNMANAGABLE WE EVER EXPERIENCE SERVICE".<br/><br/>I will not even give them single star rating!!! As they are losing customer because of such im-professional approach.

Horrible, place is dried out, that shows how great it is. And the customer service lady not a smile in face at least. I bought one sev poori, shame on that name horrible some cold potatoes and 4 puris and tamarind water like plain tea.<br/>Not recommended.

"Methi Chicken and Masala Naan" Guy. I think its absolutely fabulous that we have a restaurant here in GTA that is true to its quality in terms of authenticity. I have seen multiple restaurants claiming to be authentic Indian cuisine but they do not match the authenticity to which Daal Roti does.. I am now known for my Methi Chicken and Masala Naan order at DR. I need to try more dishes at this place.. Their butter chicken was awesome too!

Delicious Fresh Food. I am so happy to have found this perfect Little family restaurant. I have been coming for quite some time now because i LOVE their butter chicken! Amazing and the flavour cannot beat any I have tried yet! So no more looking around for my Butter Chicken. Daal Roti is the #1 and i recommend this place to everyone! The paneer and garlic naan and rice and so on LoL It is all so good! :)

Lacked Flavour. We went for the buffet and were not impressed as we thought we would be from reading the other reviews. The food was fresh no doubt about that but there was a general lack of flavour. The Goat Curry was just bones with no meat in it at all. The Tandoori chicken was nice and not dried out like most other places but it lacked flavour. Overall there was this monotone type of taste over all the dishes. <br/><br/>The place also like previously mentioned could use a good cleanup as there is no ambiance at all.

Best i ever had. Went there couple days back on my friends referral ... I must say this is the best restaurant i had ever been to ... The food has great taste and staff is very friendly... I have tried mostly all restaurants in Mississauga but this one tops all. <br/><br/>P.S : If you do visit DONT forget their one of a kind PAAN KULFI :D

Don't judge a book by its cover. Daal Roti is a perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. It is small. It is not fancy. It may not have the best decor. But what it does have is amazing food. We tried various appetizers, various entrees and dessert. Every dish left us "licking our fingers". I have tried the same dishes in many other restaurants and I can confidently say Daal Roti was one of the best! Definitely will go again.

It is a mid-sized family run restaurant. They have lunch buffet on the weekdays with a decent spread (3 non veg dishes , around 5 veg dishes & sweets). <br/><br/>Service was very good (we didn't have to wait for bread or for plates to be cleared). <br/><br/>I would rate food 7 on 10. Pretty good. <br/><br/>Cost - $10.

Won't be returning. The place is small, washroom was very dirty, it was not a good experience. I would definitely not be returning.

Prove me wrong if you dont like the food.. First of all we were reluctant to go at this place. The name Dalroti didnt sound like we will get great food.We were not expecting much from the restaurant but we were wrong .It was excellent food. I dont know what superlative degree should i use to explain how great the food was. Till now i liked food from Avani but now dal roti is my prefernce and price for each curry is not more then 8$ wow.And see the way on the website, they serve their ala carte menu absolutely like five star. By looking at the food ,you know this is definitely tasting good. We tried paneer lababdar, navratna kurma , biryani, everything was excellent. This is teh first time I am writing a review on urbanspoon. I just registered myself for writing the comment as the experience was too great to share. Hospitality too good. We met the chef personally to thank him for the lovely food.

Great place. We went after a convention and ordered palak paneer and a fish curry. The paneer was beautiful! I would order any paneer dish just to get that soft delicate paneer again. The fish was the best fish curry I have ever eaten. It was cooked perfectly even though that is a challenge with fish in sauce. Fresh, flaky and the coconut curry sauce was spicy but fantastic! We then got ulab jamun and their special pan ice cream to eat in the car on the long ride home. It was a revelation! It was spicy and sweet with rose and ginger and fennel. Surprising and addictive. We even found ourselves talking about it the next day. Wish I was there so I could get even more. Recommended for sure.

Perfectly spiced to Delhi/punjabi food. I like their food very much, this is my favorite place for Indian diner in GTA Everytime I go there i order different things, but trust me it never disappointed me. But the best of all I like is Malai Kofta, Kadahi Paneer and Paneer Tikka. The service is really good and food quantity is more than expected. Chatpata, spicy, desi, homey, karara, mast....... call it by any name but you won't forgot the taste soon. I recently moved to Calgary and miss this restaurant here. Will definitely visit this place whenever I visit GTA next.

Excellent food. The food is superb. Service is outstanding. Owners / managers are friendly. The decor needs some improvement but slowly they will get there. I would say it is the best choise for Punjabi food in Mississauga.

Nav ratan Korma and Paneer kadhai. The chef is creative and innovative. You put your request in front of the chef, he will take it as a command and WILL surprise you. He can make any dish with the taste you want. We ordered Nav Ratna Korma and Paneer Kadhai, Wow... what can we say. Just amazing. Normally Nav Ratna Korma is a sweet dish but the chef turned it into a nice, spicy (masale daar), tasty and delicious vegetable that we cannot ever forget. He got magical hands, creative mind and an amazing heart. Plus he can make Paneer dishes with different added variety. When ordering any food, do take his opinion.Thank you daal roti.

The best indian food. Authentic bombay food. All the dishes r excellent. perfectly spiced. keep going regularly. even when we have guests over we order from dal roti, so far all my guests throughly enjoy the food.

Nilesh. Excellant food.... Awasome taste. <br/><br/>We had been there with no expectations and we request them to give us their best dishes. They made an excellant Masala Nan and ChilieChese Nan. Vegetables were awasome at reasonable prices.
