Review Pho Mi 89 - Mississauga

Tenn Reyes
This pho mi has been our favourite for almost 15 years, food is always fresh, people are very friendly and the taste is just so good. We ordered for take out today and this is the first time that I was disappointed by their beef egg noodle stir fry (608B) the noodle amount was way less than how we usually get it and it had less meat than before. I don’t know if there’s a new chef or something or if it’s because of the pandemic but I am hoping that this is just a one time thing. The wonton egg noodle soup (107) is superb as usual (dip your noodle soup in hoisin sauce for extra flavour) and I love how they separate the soup and noodles; that is why I still have 4 stars for the review. Still highly recommended! Update: (July 3, 2022) I’m making my review a 5 star now because the food has gone back to more portions. We also ordered the lemongrass grilled pork with rice (521) which has a very delicious marinade and char taste, pork is always tender and rice portioning is just rice, the veggies are so good too, pickled carrots and radish, cucumber and tomato. We also ordered soursop shake, my goodness, the freshest fruit shake you’ll ever have, it’s not too sweet and you can taste the freshness of the fruit. Its the perfect consistency, not watery, It’s very refreshing for a hot summer day like today. Highly recommended as always!

The Pho Mi 289 place by Meadowvale Town Center is our go-to pho place in Mississauga. Nothing like a simmering hot pho noodle bowl on a cold fall day. Try the Stewed Beef Soup with Rice Noodles. The beef brisket is just heavenly and mouthwatering. Pair this soup with their famous Deep Fried Spring Rolls and I can assure you that you wont go hungry for the rest of the day. My wife loves their Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken Wings....just cant get enough of that dish. Also try their vermicelli bowls....toppings include pork bbq, sugarcane, shrimp... etc. This Pho place is highly recommended 👌

We ordered Pad Thai and Chicken and Salted fish fried rice. Both dishes were total disaster. The Pad Thai was nowhere near the actual pad thai look and tasted. Pad Thai should make with flat rice noodle but this pad thai used the wrong basic ingredient. Pad thai should be pretty saucey but It was extremely dried. The Pad Thai does not have all the basic ingredients of Pad Thai. Fried rice does not look like fried rice and it did not taste like fried rice. In fact, no taste at all. Furthermore, it had very strange smell. There were no salted fish at all in salted fish fried rice. The worse meal i have ever eaten. Totally disappointed with this meals. I will never order again.

One of my favorite viet place in the area. I always grab their fresh roll without vermicelli noodles and meat on rice platter. Sometimes the meats are a little dry but the seasoning is really good. Pho, you can never fail.

Consistent service, quality of food, and value over the decade I've visited Pho Mi 289. Definitely the go to Vietnamese restaurant in the area. The condensed Vietnamese coffee is a must. Spacious restaurant - ideal for those that still prefer socially distanced tables and environment.

We decided to give this place a try. Ordered the hot & sour soup, the red beef curry and the beef & udon noodles stir fry. While we were a party of two, the table got set up with a single plate, a single napkin and flatware for two which we found odd. The soup was served in a medium size bowl, with no individual bowls, soup spoons or a serving spoon. The portion size was good. Moving onto the mains, which got brought to the table at the same time as the soup (this caused our mains to go cold while we had our soup), we found that the beef & udon noodles were good in taste and portion size. The issue we had was with the red beef curry. There was absolutely no curry in the dish. It was served in a flat plate versus a bowl which would be ideal if there was any curry at all. Our server did her best to accommodate us, took the dish back and brought us a fresh portion. However, the kitchen just missed the point. The dish was served in a flat plate again and there was hardly half a ladle of curry splashed onto the top of the dish. At this point, we had lost our appetite. We paid our bill and walked out. If a place advertises 'curry', then it would do well to understand how to prepare and serve that dish.

Came here for lunch today and ordered a grilled chicken vermicelli. It was a very light dish, with some salad, tangy broth, and a whopping load of grilled chicken. It was pretty good, although relatively low-key in flavour. My sister ordered a chicken pad Thai, which was not oily at all, and tasted decent from the mouthful I stole. Pretty all right!

Pho is good but don't bother trying anything else on the menu; it's bland. It's a typical Vietnamese restaurant, nothing out of the ordinary.

Essential part of my childhood. I grew up eating at this place on a regular basis. The atmosphere was welcoming, especially for families.

The service is always on point: extremely fast and attentive. There are a variety of foods to choose from and the portioning of each dish is substantial.

They are crooks, and they don't care.. We have been going to this place ever since it opened more than 5 years ago. Service has always been consistent, until the last 6 months, or so. Not sure if it's a change in management, or them trying to find ways to cut corners, but it's not the same. We always order fresh rolls, and large and x-large #203. When our meals arrived last night, we were comparing the amount of food we were given. While the bowls were a different size, they pretty much gave us the same amount of noodles and beef.
When we confronted one of the staff members, their reply was that the only difference is you get more broth, but the noodles and beef amounts should be the same. They are robbing their customers, and they do not care. When you pay $2.00 more for an x-large, you expect more of everything... not just the broth. They did not offer to do anything with the bill, even though, we were very frustrated with the experience.

We will never set foot in this place again.

Awesome Pho. This is definitely one of the best Pho restaurants in the West End. Very fast and speedy service. The soup broth is one of the tastiest in the city. But what makes this place stand out the most out of any other Pho restaurants I've been to, is the great customer service. I've overheard the staff explain to Pho newbies how the menus work and give their suggestions on what to order based on their likes and dislikes. I know that sounds like basic customer service but you don't get that type of service at other Pho's out there. I come here on a weekly basis and will continue to #EatHearty

Great Food!. We came here late one evening during the week. It was quite busy however, we were still able to get a table as soon as we walked in. We were given menus (which were basically the size of a book) and chose our meals. When we first sat down, they provided each of us with a cup of red tea. It was a nice touch however, the tea wasn't hot and it would have been better to have some water. We ordered our meals and waited about fifteen minutes for it to come. We all settled on the Pad Thai dishes, some of us had it with chicken, while others had beef. The Pad Thai was very good, there were a lot of noodles, vegetables, and meat. The only thing that was missing were the peanuts. It was a large portion size which definitely filled us up. Throughout our meal, we had to ask for water as we were thirsty since we weren't drinking the tea. It took about ten minutes for the server to bring us water which we found to be a bit long. It cost about $50 for five people to dine which wasn't too bad. Would definitely come back to this place if I am in the area!

Simple and fast. They won't be handing out Michelin stars here, but this is not their goal. Simply, fast, inexpensive food. Good taste and you can be in and out in 30 minutes easy.

Cheaper than doing to Mcdonalds or Subway and, in my opinion, much better.

Quick and cheap but that's it. This is a run of the mill Vietnamese restaurant. The food is quick and simple but it is really stingy on anything of substance. The soup is decently flavourful but it's mostly filled with cheap rice noodle with a tiny piece of beef. The vegetarian soup has maybe 2 sprigs of brocolli and 3 slivers of tofu. Is it worth the $7 per bowl? Nope! The service is cold and forgetful. I don't recommend it.
