Review East Tea Can - Mississauga

A beautiful restaurant on the inside with delicious food and a great ambiance. The chicken cigars were the stand out dish to me! So yummy. The restaurant was also very well staffed, something you don't see too often these days. I will definitely be going again! Cheers 🥂

First time here on a date night. The atmosphere was lively and well lit. Service was impeccable and the food was absolutely incredible. To drink we had the summer special lemonades which were a bit pricey but very delicious. We started with the Labneh which was delicious! Then we had the shared mixed plate with 4 skewers and roasted veggies with a side of fries and rice. It was so delicious and highly recommended! Will definitely be back to try more food!

Came here on a Saturday evening. My first experience at a Middle Eastern, full service restaurant. It was fantastic! We ordered the Dip Platter, Falafel Starter and the Mixed Grill for 2. The dip platter came with 3 types of hummus and babaganoush with pita bread. The dips were all amazing! Having said that, the roasted red pepper hummus was the favourite between myself and the person I was there with. Note: the dips were FILLING for 2 people. Because of the dips, we were no where close to finishing our main course meal. The falafel was also the BEST falafel I’ve ever tasted (take that with a grain of salt, because I’ve only tried a handful of other falafels). The mixed grill platter was good as it came with 4 skewers of meat, onions, pickles, rice and French fries. I would definitely visit again but would order much less (ie: one hummus and a smaller dinner platter).

Exceptional food and drinks. Interior aesthetics were amazing. Had to wait for about 45 minutes which considering Saturday evening is not that bad. Got some time to browse the menu and look around. The bread is fresh (baked in front of you). The menu is balanced and everything has a clever fusion of sour, sweet and savoury. Guest services are also on a par! Will definately be visiting again very soon!

Good option for Middle Eastern brunch in Mississauga. Very cute decor inside with an option for outdoor patio. The breads were very fresh and piping hot when it came to our table. The manakeesh was also very good, just slightly too salty for my taste. The flavour of the Arabic Sujuk was very nice. Would have been nice to have the eggs a bit runnier (or at least an option of) so that it's easier to dip the bread into the egg, and the potatoes could be crispier for an extra level of texture to the dish. Overall not bad as a brunch option outside of downtown Toronto.

Loved the buffet they offer at Iftar in Ramadan. They have a good mix in the salad bar, main dishes and dessert! The seating area is spacious (thank you for not crowding it like most other restaurants!!) beautifully decorated with lovely middle eastern vibes Good service with available parking spots 👍🏻👍🏻

Changing my previous review from 5 (still down below) to 2: Freekah was tooooo greesy (I can’t even describe, picture is uploaded) tasted like mac Donald oil!!! And the cheese on the side of the dolma was disgusting (tasted like cheese being in the frizzer for 2 years), the salad was too watery. ————— Everything was awesome!!! The hummus was the best hummus I’ve ever had, they serve it with warm bread that they bake in the restaurant. The decoration of the restaurant is super beautiful and unique. Nice experience overall, highly recommend.

FOOD:
We had come here on a Tuesday afternoon at around 12:00 pm for lunch. We had settled on a few dishes to share, which included the Dip Platter ($12.00), 6 Falafels ($5.00), East Tea Can Signature Chicken Skewer With Fries ($22.00), and Saffron Rice ($3.25). We had decided on the Dip Platter after seeing it on someone else’s table when we had first walked-in. We were surprised to see that there were four different dips included; Hummus, Bummus, Dummus, and Mutabbal.

Each of the dips were placed in glasses, which were then placed onto a wooden board (we really loved how amazing it all looked). We were also given three large pita breads to use for dipping, which was phenomenal, tasting as though it had just come-out of the oven. The dips were all delicious, with each of them boasting the perfect amount of flavour, and just divine for dipping, such a wonderful combination!

Another appetizer that we had decided on was the Falafel, which came with a total of six, each of them perfectly-shaped, with them all being crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. These were the best falafels that I had ever tasted; they also came to the table hot (temperature-wise), and tasted fresh, just the way I like them! I loved how the falafels had a small container of dipping sauce, which was perfect as they were tiny enough to dip. Such delicious falafels, very tasty, and absolutely yummy!

In terms of the East Tea Can Signature Chicken Skewer, we were blown-away at how it was presented to us; on a large metal stick, hanging-over a plate, which included the fries that we had ordered as our side. There were quite a few large pieces of chicken on each skewer, and the chicken had a nice spice to it, although we did find it to be a bit dry, but, adding the dips to them made them taste much better. The fries were also very nicely-done, all of them crispy and hot (temperature-wise). Also, they were quite large, and filled-us up quick!

The last item that we had ordered was a side-order of Saffron Rice, which came with pine nuts garnished on the top. We did find that this rice was also a tad dry however, the dips helped to make it taste better. I loved the addition of the pine nuts, it was a delectable combination, which gave the saffron an exquisite taste. Overall, the food far surpassed our expectations; it was quite delicious, fresh, and appetizing to look at, and taste! Although we did find the prices to be a tad high, it was worth the wonderful food that we had consumed!

ATMOSPHERE:
When we had first entered this restaurant, we noticed how large and spacious it was, with many pieces of décor on the walls, such as paintings, bicycles, and funky light-fixtures which made the place glow with delight. Although we weren’t able to read the posters on the walls, they were colourful and pleasing to the eye, making our stay enjoyable.

The tables were a large enough size, and the chairs were comfortable enough during our time. We also noticed that they had a large patio that was partially-covered, which did look tempting on a nice day. It wasn’t too crowded when we had gone however, about half of the restaurant was full, with little noise amongst all of the diners. We also loved the door upon entering the restaurant, such a funky colour and exquisite design!

SERVICE:
Upon entering, we were brought to a table near the front by a kind hostess, who then handed us our menus, and allowed us enough time to order. We then were approached by our server, who asked if we were ready to order. Both the hostess and server came over to ask how we were doing during our meal, making us feel comfortable and welcome. The hostess even played with my toddler son, which made him laugh, and made me smile to see. We loved how accommodating and kind all of the workers were at this restaurant!

COST:
1 Dip Platter ($12.00) + 6 Falafels ($5.00) + 1 East Tea Can Signature Chicken Skewer With Fries ($22.00) + 1 Saffron Rice ($3.25): $42.25 + Tax = $47.74

WOULD YOU RETURN?
Without a doubt! This restaurant definitely knows how to satisfy customers; from deliciously-made food, to an inviting atmosphere, along with friendly staff. Such a great place to dine for any occasion!

Very bad experience, We had a terrible experience, we don't recommend this anymore; the food was old ‘non-fresh’, with very poor taste..... DON’T try it even... the decoration is miss leading

Ambiance:
This restaurant stays true to its theme, unlike other similar establishments this restaurant has done well in terms of decor starting with the entrance big blue doors. There is art all over the wall.

Brunch:

Scrambled egg with ground beef: I thought it was very tasty though my egg was a little on overcooked side but it was still tasty.

Flafel: tasty as well

Hummus: have had better but the fresh bread it comes with is very good

Shakshuka: my least favourite. There were chunky pieces of tomatoes in it and just bland sauce. I have certainly had better Shakshuka.

They serve tea in small glass cups and a pot.
Nice place to go with family, food is good, but expensive, and I'm really disappointed from all arabic restaurants because there price are higher than the western cuisine.
Anyway, service there is good, place is clean.

I've been to East Tea Can few times and the experience is normally fantastic. It is one of the best middle eastern food in Mississauga. I specially enjoyed the Kabab. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The resturant is normally busy during the weekend hence I recommend going during weekdays to avoid the wait.

Food tastes great, staff are very friendly, and the interior has a middle eastern design perfectly achieved. I tried the beef shawarma which was very moist, the hummus dip platter with 4 different styles all tasted well, and a mixed grilled platter.
The dessert was tasty. I tried the moroccan tea.

Had a really good time at this restaurant ! The place has a really nice atmosphere, busy with families, the interior and the menu are very nicely put together from a design standpoint, except for the seats, i felt like they are higher than normal, which was exhausting for my legs and annoyingThe bread is exceptionally great! The appetizers and mukesh are 5/5 !
However, the main dishes are not as great as I was expecting, 3.5/5 tops, the tikka was dry and little burned.

Staff and kind, presentation is very good.

Overall, it is a great place, I want to love it and I want it to be the best, because they are doing something unique that Mississauga really needs
