Review Leela's Roti And Doubles - Mississauga

Great place for doubles. Got the goat doubles and it tasted great. The goat was soft and melt in the mouth! Also, their aloo pies are great. They're not enough for a full dinner meal, kinda like a snack. Will definitely try the rotis next time.

This was the first time we came to here to eat. It was a long time since I had Caribean food. We ordered the boneless goat roti and chicken roti. It was fresh and tasty. The wait wasn't too long and it wasn't too busy when we went at around 4:30pm on a Sunday. But we could tell it was getting busier as we were leaving. It's a small joint with a few booths to sit and eat. The roti was light and fresh. Custom service was good too. We could also tell that the customers who were there were regulars which speaks to the quality of the food. We will definitely go back!

Doubles - delicious perfect mixture of sweet and spicy! Pholourie - spongy dough, taste a lot of yeast, not flavourful, it's okay. Mango Chutney - not much flavour, taste watered down. Definetly worth getting doubles here!

Deceiving people on food apps thinking they're getting alot more for $7 of potato curry and $12 for jerk chicken. Yes the app says 8ounces but how are people supposed to know the size so they go by the price. 2 * because the chicken roti and whatever was there for $70 was actually half decent. Will consider coming again when you don't try scamming people. Also not very excited seeing my hot food in styrofoam containers...

I ordered a stew chicken. The Food was cold and 4 small pieces of chicken. Poor quality. The rice was over cooked and soggy, the red beans was just thrown on top and wasn't mixed in with the rice. I had not been there in sometime and now i know the reason why. Will not be going back.

The amount of meat to rice wasn't great. Understand that costs have gone up but there very few pieces of meat and an excess of rice especially when you are paying $16 plus tax. We also ordered a Roti and it was a bit too soggy for our liking.

Amazing doubles! The Supreme jerk chicken wrap is ok. It might be a while before I return.

First time trying Leela’s and I was pleasantly surprised at how similar Caribbean food is to South Asian food. I was told to order “doubles” which was lentil wrapped in roti (very much like a south Asian Puri”) the lentil was channa. I also tried their jerk chicken with rice and peas and while I asked them to make it spicy it wasn’t. They did however provide a spicy sauce with it which complimented the rice and jerk chicken very well. Overall I would say you must try it if you haven’t had Caribbean food. But for me I think this was the last time I’m visiting it at least this year. The food and taste wasn’t something that I would have wanted seconds of.

I visited this place for the first time on October 28 2017. Simply amazing food. Unashamedly my bill was more than $250. Fantastic service also.

The best roti and doubles in the GTA hands down. 💯

The female owner is absolutely ignorant and lacks basic customer service skills.. When you order food to go check your order. I was in the restaurant for an hour recently and 2 customer came back stating that the food was short. The female ( older woman-very ugly attitude) started to accuse them of lying. Also it was my first time buying food there and it the worst Trinidadian food I have eaten. Dirty environment.

Currently eating roti and chicken curry at home from here as a new place to try and probably the best I've had so far in Sauga. Fairly decent to my liking in comparison to the other West Indian eateries the curry is very poignant and the flavors are there in all the right ways have had twice already and would be my number one choice in the city.

Poor service. Cu stoner does not exists dont take orders on phone if people gave to wait in the same line as folks waiting to place order the daughter is so rude you not doing me a favor I am supporting a local business like many other people be thankful that people support you business don't tKe orders by phone if you cannot accommodate them great food poor service train staff zero for service 8 for food will have to drive to Brampton don't need to pay to be insulted .

Poor service. Leelas has great food but the service stinks, why take orders on the phone when you arrive for pickup you have to stand in line with people now placing orders. If it's too busy say sorry we are not taking order on the phone right now, but being greedy and taking orders that you cannot handle and have people call in 40 minutes ahead then have to stand in line for another 30 mins. please while taking orders ask did anyone called in their order get the name let them pay this way the line moves faster, take one order in the line and then one that's was called in, but the way you do things now ITS NOT WORKING PEOPLES TIME IS VALUABLE AND YOU'RE PROVIDING A SERVICE, get someone who is not RUDE to deal with the customers keep in mind no customers no business.

-----08 Feb, 2015-----

Customer service. What's the point of placing an order by phone and having to wait in the same line as people in line waiting to place their order, when you order by phone in a normal establishment you can go to the counter and pick up your order , not so at Leelas you have to wait in line with customers waiting to place and order the food at Leelas us great I will give them credit for that but customer service stinks the daughter thinks she is doing you a favor this is what happens when you support local businesses , They can between customers say is there a joe who place an order by phone and serve the person everyone's time is valuable this is not the first time this has happen either you gave two lines one die I house orders and a line for phone orders ir when you call in give you a number and call the numbers when you get greedy and take order and don't respect your customers that not good for business perhaps Leelas think they made too much money that customer service is not an issue I dont appreciate that the staff think they have to be rude or insulting no customer no business don't be greedy be respectful to your customers once again great food staff stinks

Drink. Today i bought a Peardrax at Leela's and it had no bubbles, and it tasted bad. I opened it there because I was eating there and brought it t their attention:
Reply: " thats not our fault..its the suppliers fault...if 50 ppl came and told us that...are we supposed to change it and lose?
Well these comments got me so upset...after buying there for 5 years and putting up with the nonsense that goes on there..I had enough.
The owner just does not know how to talk to people and to solve any problems..he is rude and obnoxious and he should carefully listen to his costumers. According to the daughter..this is a mama and papa run business...therefor they should appreciate customers more if mama and papa are to survive.

I was disappointed with the pumpkin curry. i was craving pumpkin curry, was not good at all, my family did not even touch
it, all went into the trash. its a shame, as was the price. it was a total disappointment. however, the roti was good . the dhalpuri and paratha.

Great Customer Service and Great Food. A lot of people complain about the customer service at most West Indian shops, but I’ve recently had a great experience. After a long day at work, I dropped into Leela’s Roti shop in Mississauga to pick up some roti for dinner and an extra for lunch the next day. I paid, received my food and went home. When I got home, I realized that I was missing one of the rotis I had ordered. By the time I got home, the roti shop had already closed. I called Leela’s the next morning to let them know that I didn't receive one of my rotis and they knew exactly who I was. They apologized and said that it was accidentally left on the counter and didn't make it into my bag before I left. I honestly didn't expect them to remember, but they did and offered to replace the roti next time I’m in the shop... on them. I am truly impressed with the level of customer service at Leela’s and will continue to be a loyal customer. Plus, Leela's has the best roti in Mississauga!
Keep up the great job!

Sincerely,
Natasha N

Craved for Jerk. Wrong place to gamble on!. I've eaten from Alberts, Ackie tree, Jamaica House, Willies Jerk and pretty much around the GTA. This is by far the weirdest jerk chicken and rice and peas! First and last. Their doubles is alright. It doesn't even taste like jerk chicken - very salty. Shandra's is way better then Leela's because they were closed on Sunday so I gambled on this place...

Moi. Love this place for the Tuesday special!!!

Foods are good as expected.

Awesome place with friendly service. They gave us a free double just to try and it was delicious!

Awesome Roti and Doubles. My old man told me about this place and finally had a chance to check it out. Rotis were fresh and light. Filling was tasty and substantial in quantity. Tried the chicken - great chunks of white meat (which, if you've been to a few different roti shops, is a nice surprise). True test for me is always the doubles because they can often be greasy, overcooked and just crap. These doubles were steaming hot and freaking delicious.

If they can keep the quality up, this place is a keeper for sure. Going to get more tonight.

Phenomenal place for doubles and roti.

I absolutely love it. Taste as if I never left Trinidad . It's clean, good service, I'll be patronizing for a long time to come. Good work. (Nate)

Doubles are amazing here - arguably the best in the west end Didn't care much for the roti - it was ok kinda bland

Sloppy Roti. We ordered a couple different items including the goat roti. The roti was tasteless (literally lacked flavour) very watery, and the goat was tough, chewy and sparse. My lunch partner commented that this was definitely nothing special at all and was also quite disappointed in the food.

Prices seemed a slight bit high with $8.99 being the price for a goat roti. We have tasted many roti places in toronto and area and this place is in the lower half for quality and taste.

A good comparison in quality and price would be to visit Calabash near ErinMills and QEW. Then compare to this place and one should notice a night and day difference. Calabash being slightly cheaper and considerably better in quality, taste, and freshness. After all thats what counts when eating out.

Simply the best.. This family run restaurant is one of my personal favorites as the food is simply divine. Although this restaurant is fairly new to Mississauga (less than two years) it attracts some devoted customers.
You must try the doubles, as it ranks with the best I have ever had. Another choice favorite is the vege-platter, a choice of 4 vegetarian dishes with a choice of three different types of Roti.
This restaurant has popular specials on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for an amazing price of under $5.00 you can have a roti with either chicken or goat along with a drink on those days. This is another place that has consistent great tasting food and you must try it.

I ordered the jerk chicken with rice/peas. It was very flavourful and moist! Yumm! I've never had rice and peas so full of yummy spices and so moist. The chicken was well seasoned and marinated beautifully. The coleslaw could use some work, it was kinda mushy not much texture..kind of like baby food, however when I ate it with spicy jerk chicken and rice it tasted amazing! I definitely recommend the jerk chicken with rice to anyone who is going here. Overall, the place is clean and the staff are very friendly. Great atmosphere and very good music to set the Caribbean ambience.

Went to the restaurant on a Friday afternoon and it was very busy. You can tell this is a very popular restaurant as there was continuous flow of customers mostly ordering take out. We decided to dine in.

We ordered the doubles (meat and veggie) and some jerk chicken and roti. Food was very plentiful and spices were available on the side. The doubles were more oily and messy and weren't much different than the roti. The jerk chicken was filling but otherwise plain.

Still a good place in the west end to satisfy any hunger pangs and get a good bang for your buck.
