Review Basil Box - Mississauga

First time at basil box and honestly loved it. Food taste so good. I got a salad with Lemongrass chicken. The lady there was so sweet and took her time. And gave us samples. Would always go back.

Tried this place as it was listing gluten free online. Promised the girl at the counter I'd leave a review 😅 The food was great and didn't trigger my Celiac, went back the next day and tried something else which was also delicious. Will definitely go back if I'm in Toronto in the future.

Apr.8/2022- I won't return here. I won't recommend. First and last time I'll come here. $14 for a BAD experience. Threw out the entire box.

This was amazing. Fresh delicious mix no disappointment. They are inspired by the bustling streets of South Asia. You can mix and match ingredients, at @thebasilbox you are the chef. You pick you base, veggies, protein, sauce and topping. I ended wanting more... I am coming back for the flavour and experience. A great tasty combination. Brown rice, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds 😍🌶🔥

This is literally my fav place to eat💕 I’m working at SQ1 and I visit Basil Box almost everyday and never get bored of it. Their food is healthy yet delicious, highly recommended for who are looking for a healthier choice. My always go-to is their steaks and lemongrass chicken together with tamarind sauce and sweet chilli and you must try their Thai ice tea. Sooooo good😍 the best thai ice tea I’ve had so far. Try it you might like it😉❤️❤️❤️

Quite disappointed really, read through the mostly good reviews and ordered delivery of Lemongrass chicken and Chili lime shrimp and to my dismay the two dishes are mostly rice with very little in the way of chicken or shrimp.

Just recently I've visited basil box twice within the same week. Type of food Vietnamese + Thai cuisine, gluten free, comparable prices. The menu has a build a box, noodles, brown rice, veggies, meat, toppings + sauces. Only two sizes: small + regular. All fresh ingredients, tasted so good, decent food portions. one of the best healthy food options in the food court. Great alternative for people who are health enthusiast. I highly recommend this location.

This is the best place in all of square one for healthy, protein rich meals. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. The portions are incredible (you’ll be full with the standard size). Mix the meats to get the most satisfaction out of the experience (mix the noodle and brown rice to get an even better experience).

Tucked in the Square One mall, this joint constantly serves Excellent food . As could be seen from the reviews, they pretty much nail down the lemongrass chicken bowl. We ordered the chilli lime shrimp bowl one with jasmine rice and the other with cold noodles. There are several sauces to choose from and we preferred the Penang sauce with rice and tamarind with rice noodles version . Very impressed and I am certainly going back for more.

Nice thing about this place is that you can choose all the ingredients you want included in your meal. Food was fresh, portions good and staff was friendly and helpful.

Best lunch served in Mississauga! Guilt free eating and place to be for Thai food and vegan food lovers ! Choice of mains- choice of veggies- choice of protein - choice of sauce done for quick lunch !

Being able to customize your bowl is great and it's healthy plus it quite filling. Yesterday for my first visit I settled on the steak, brown rice, sweet potato, chili lime sauce, corn, and finished it with pickled carrots and peanuts. Recently I tried shrimp instead and it was just as good if not even better.

Basil Box is the newest addition to the food court at Square One Mall in Mississauga. They are an Asian fast-casual restaurant serving the exotic flavors of Thailand and Vietnam with a build-a-box concept. What I liked most about Basil Box was that they offer a healthier alternative to the array of fast-food options in the food court. Customers are able to customize their meal to their liking, and they also offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. I was invited to drop by Basil Box on their opening day to try their food for lunch, and I happily obliged as I was in the area for a meeting. I met Peter Chiu, the owner of Basil Box, that day as he was on hand getting consumer feedback. I also learned that Basil Box will be expanding, as they will be opening up a flagship full-service restaurant sometime by the end of the year. The upcoming flagship will be located in the Ryerson Learning Centre, which I am excited about as it's centrally located downtown.

Was introduced to Basil Box first at their Mississauga location. Fantastic experience and tasty healthy food. Was walking around downtown and noticed they had a big restaurant down here and had an amazing experience there as well.

Excellent! Such a great suprise in a food court! Would love to see more of these around! Customized my own box with a base of brown rice (rare to find in food court), 2 veggies, lemongrass chicken, tamarind sauce, and crushed peanuts. Great meal, very satisfying, and didn't leave me feeling gross after. Thai iced tea was recommended by the staff and it tasted awsome!

Such a gem found in the massive Square One food court! Healthy, fast and delicious. No deep fried fare found here! Great drinks too. Premium food compared to others in food court. Did not feel gross or bloated after eating here. Definitely will return!

Had it not been for my hour-and-a-half delay, I likely would have returned home for dinner. But as luck would have it, I found myself staring at a food court bursting with supper options. Basil Box was a restaurant/stall that particularly stood out to me, especially since I had glanced through numerous positive experiences with their completely customizeable meal option.

The theory is simple: a step-by-step process is used to guide the diner through the available base, topping, and sauce options.

They are able to choose their main base, 2 veggies, a protein (which determines the price), a sauce, and then topped it off with a topping. The instructions and available options are clearly displayed on the wall, so it was quite a helpful guide.

For my box, I chose short grain brown rice, lemongrass corn, roasted green beans, chili lime shrimp, sweet chili lime, and crushed peanuts. The portion that we got on opening day was comparably less than what people are getting today when they order from Basil Box. The reason for the change now was because Peter took the constructive criticisms from bloggers, and other customers on opening week into consideration, and increased the portion. I think it's great that he's dedicated to the product, and open to suggestions from customers.

The curry is definitely spicy enough. The Thai iced tea helps take the edge off.

I like how it's priced like any other restaurant but it's gmo free and eco friendly
