I love the food and the staff is very friendly, especially Ameep.
I took several friends there on different occasions and they enjoyed the food as well.

Quaint little place in Port Credit. My husband and I decided to go out for date night and had been craving some good Indian food. We decided to check this place out after reading the reviews on Zomato. The food and the overall experience definitely lived up to our expectations. We were really hungry so decided to give the appetizers a miss and go straight for the main course. We ordered butter chicken okra and the beef kebabs. We had requested for thr food to be spicy and they definitely turned on the heat for us. The butter chicken is the best I've ever had in Canada. It reminded me of back home. The okra was delicious as well and my husband enjoyed the beef kebabs. The garlic Naan was buttery and soft. The only thing that was a disappointment was the mango shake but hey I didnt care about it. We were just ecstatic to find an Indian place that did serve authentic flavors and that was just 10 mins away from us. The service was great..the owner came in and checked in on us as well. I would definitely recommend this place to all those who crave good Indian food. Can't wait to go back again. a meal for two with three dishes and a drink was $72 including tip. Not a bad deal at all!!!

If you order Xtra hot, you actually get it extra hot!. I decided to try this nearby place out with my dad and girlfriend somehow wondering how we missed it all this time. We frequent curry houses in the UK quite often and so we are a little spoiled with their often much higher standards over there. As a test, me and my dad deliberately asked for extremely hot vindaloos just to see if the place would do it right. They blew our heads off! But some warning! Anyone unsure of super hot food should be very wary. I have an extremely high shreshold for hot food. Dont just do what I did unless you are very sure of yourself as you could end up spoiling your dinner. The curry was hotter than we would normally enjoy but we just needed to see if they if they had it in them. They passed! Our server brought out the cook and we had a nice chat with him at our table for a minute. We shared a vegetable sampler together. I like my pekoras etc, crunchier than they were but that is not a complaint. The apps all wend down well with the mint and tamarind sauces that accompanied them. My girlfriend ordered Navritan Korma, a vegetable dish we had all never heard of and she was thoroughly impressed. It is unfortunate that really good curry houses do not really exist in North America (rather, they are very hard to find) but this will definately remain a local favourite of mine and my family. We will all be back.
Staff Celebrations. We were looking for a great Indian restaurant and checked out Urbanspoon and found Indian Cuisine by the Lake. What a fabulous place! Great food and lovely owners who were gracious hosts. We would certainly come back again and highly recommend anyone interested in having good Indian food to try this place out.
Stopped there tonight after reading reviews. Had the dinner buffet served to me with fresh naan bread and it was wonderful. A great way to try several dishes at once and for cheap! $14 was well worth it! Would absolutely go back :)
Listen.... I've read a few negative reviews, but decided to try this spot despite a few complainers.
Let me tell you- this was the nicest surprise I have had eating out in a long, long time.
The place was clean, the staff was wonderful, the prices very reasonable, and the food was awesome.
We had a veggie platter to start, which had a nice variety. The spicing was not too strong, and the two sauces accompanying it were great.
Our 3 dishes were all varied- the Baingan Patiala, the Paneer Makhni, and the Madras Curry Lamb (spicey..!). All 3 were so flavourful, and the portions were perfect. The nann bread and rice dishes we added were also exactly what we needed (loved the peas pulao!).
Don't worry about the skeptics- sometimes things just go wrong.
If you like Indian food (or any food for that matter), I say you must consider trying Indian by the Lake. I couldn't be happier, and will definitely come back.
Oh man. Such a great dinner, really fabulous service. The whole family was a part of it and it was hands down the best Indian food I've had in years. Definitely going back.

Excellent food! Great staff. Some friends and I were looking for a place to eat on Family day. Almost everything else was closed in Port Credit. Luckily Indian Cuisine by the lake was open and we were glad we went. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent as well and the ambiance was quaint but a bit casual. This is not your upscale dining experience but it is well done and clean on the inside. The open galley kitchen is a welcome change in an Indian restaurant.
The only thing I would suggest is being ready to wait a while for your food if you are not getting the buffet. The food is made from scratch and done with care so you will wait a bit for your food. Definitely worth the wait however so we really didn't mind. I know how hard it is to make good Indian food from fresh ingredients so we appreciated it. Will definitely go or order from here again!!!
Awesome Indian food...it's also the only indian restaurant in the area. Buffet takeout is pretty creative but if you have the time, order a full dish fresh.

It was good!. Dropped by on the weekend for lunch. The buffet was just being put out. They had a good selection of food, so much so that I really couldn't get a good amount of each on in one trip, so I had to go back for more.
Channa tasted a little firm (I was there early) but everything else was very flavourful.
They brought out fresh tandoori chicken and fresh naan bread directly to the table to ensure it stayed hot.
My only food critique was my mango lassi. It looked a little pale. There was a bigger mix of yogurt to mango therefore it was a little more bitter than I normally like (I'd prefer it a little sweeter)
The place was quiet. Saturday at lunch and there was only 1 other table in use.
I'd definitely repeat and I would recommend it to others. Service was friend and the food was good.
Price is a little higher than typical Indian buffets, but the quality of the food is much better than most.

Decent buffet, a la carte looks better tho'!. I've wanted to try out this restaurant for a while now and finally had the opportunity to! My friend & I decided on the buffet since we wanted to try a bit of everything and she's a vegetarian.
Buffet selection is not huge, but sufficient for $13/dinner. Each gravy had their own distinct flavours and spices. And at least 1 item was actually a bit spicy, so it's not too watered down. Fresh naan was brought to the table. Only complaint was that tandoori chicken was a dry, lacked taste, but that's sorta to be expected from a warming tray.
Server was very friendly, nice, and explained everything. Atmosphere was like the inside of a shwarma/Subway, although there is a table in the back which is more private and less take-out like. Seemed as though quite a few people did some takeout from this place.
Although I haven't been to Bukhara Grill recently, I'd say that the buffet is on-par with their lunch buffet. Other tables ordered a la carte and obviously, it looked fresher.
There aren't that many SOLID options in Port Credit, so I hope this one's here to stay! It's great to have an ethnic option in the area.
Awesome food. Spiciest Indian food I have found in Mississauga, such a treat! The outdoor patio is a nice touch.
Last Saturday evening, my husband and I thought we'd try Indian Cuisine by the Lake. We had no preconceptions and had not heard anything about the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and very
friendly service. Because we could not make up our mind, the buffet was recommended by the server. The food was varied, fresh and delicious. We loved everything we tried especially the Tandoori chicken and the butter chicken as well as the rice and the fresh naan that was brought to our table. It was the first time we had pekoras and when we went up a second time we filled our plates with these delicious and perfectly cooked , spiced balls.
We will definitely be returning. A great addition to Port Credit.
The Best Indian Food in the GTA. My husband and I have eaten in all sorts of Indian restaurants in the GTA and this one is the BEST, hands down. Prices are reasonable, portions are respectable. Their "Curry in a Hurry" is inspired. Nan is fluffy and tasty, samosas crisp and packed with goodness, sweets are mouth watering. The butter chicken is light and not the usual insipid fare you find elsewhere. The Tikka is delicious. I give them a 10 out of 10 without hesitation and hope they continue to prosper.
An excellent addition to Port Credit. We ate here on a sultry summer afternoon. The proprietor is very helpful and the food is absolutely amazing. At present they still await their liquor license so soft drinks are all that are available.
A buffet is available and a take out service. We dined a la carte and were served excellent food. We tried several dishes and they were all well spiced and fresh. We will return!
Service is homely rather than silver service and the decor is fresh and modern.

I'm not generally a fan of Indian food but I have to admit I loved the food at Indian by the Lake. I had the chicken tikka and my husband had their buffet. We were both very happy with our choices and will definitely be back.
