Review Gabriel's Restaurant - Mississauga

My friend and I ate dinner here on a Friday night. Lights were dimmed so it created a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Restaurant clientele was 50+ with a sprinkle of younger people. Food was delicious! Perfectly cooked, seasoned well and good portions. We started with the Fried Calamari and our mains were Involtini Supreme and Shrimp Paella. We enjoyed the tiramisu and a sundae afterwards. However, the tiramisu seemed to be frozen :\ Dessert was the right amount of sweet and very satisfying. I recommend this restaurant for great service and great food. See you soon again!

Absolutely LOVE Gabriel's. I've been coming here for years and everytime it's better and better. The food is flavorful, beautiful and delicious! The customer service is always accommodating and genuine, and they also have great vegetarian and vegan options 🍝

1st time we went. Delicious food. My 90 year old Mum ate more than 1/2 her Chicken Souvlaki including all the meat. My wife also had it and said it was excellent. My Dad had the Shrimp with Linguine and loved it. He said we have to come back. I had the Paella and while it was Delicious I was surprises that there was liquid on/under the rice, which I expected to be crispy pan fried. Still I will have again. Staff were friendly and attentive. Excellent place.

We just recently had our baby's baptism party at Gabriel's, this is a family run business, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The venue was very nice and the food was delicious. I would strongly recommend to eat and have parties here. The lamb shanks were amazing. Overall amazing experience.

Tried this place on a whim as I’m not usually in the area and the menu looked good. Im so happy I did because I’m still thinking about the food days later. I loved everything. I was impressed with the portion sizes! Honestly the cook is so talented. Their wine selection is great too. The highlight for me though is how warm and welcoming the owner is. I really appreciate the fact that we stayed past closing and she didn’t hurry us out the door at all. She gave us such a positive and pleasant experience that I will definitely be going back. Ps please try the dessert, the brownie is made in house and it’s to die for. I also need to mention that the gravy that comes with the beef skewer appetizer is phenomenal.

Absolutely delicious!!!! Mussels in white wine cream reduction were 20/10 and the grilled calamari was so tender and soft. Absolute perfection. I also had the portobello mushroom dish and it was sooo good especially the sauce. Definitely will come back. This place is a gem!!

The food was amazing! Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly! The service were great and on top of everything! Definitely will go back there again soon!

Flat out amazing food and service. Throw in billard tables and you have an evening. Do not be fooled by the pool tables. First class and chefs dishes are impeccable.

Best place in Mississauga, play some pool while you wait for Dinner, or sit in the restaurant area for a nice intimate meal. Staff have been the same for close to 20 years that I've been coming here. Wish I lived closer, don't get to visit enough.... But always try to catch a good meal as I drive by. Much recommended try the Penne a la vodka!

Fantastic food and a fun atmosphere. Off the beaten path but well worth the search. The chef is amazing in the way he combines the flavors to make your taste buds stand up and take notice. Better food, better price than the glitzy restaraunts down the steeet.

What can I say, everything was awesome!!! Taste, presentation, creativity, textures, and the combination flavors all five star plus ***** Great ambiance, pints and a game of pool Or date night in the very elegant dinning room. A must try no doubt. Might I add the front of house team also exceeded my expectation. Accommodating and very knowledgeable, and a great wine list just to add to the arsenal. Certainly an experience worth re visiting. Thanks again to the Chef, and team!

Excellent food and service as always. Saturday’s visit was in a group of 20 which can be a challenge but food arrived in a timely manner. Seafood and pastas the best!

We have our annual client appreciation event at Gabriel's and they never fail to impress. The atmosphere and staff are great, the food is always warm and delicious. We keep coming back for a reason.

First time visiting Gabriel's, they accommodated a group of over 20 of us on short notice! The staff was very friendly....atmosphere was pleasing, food was awesome! I will definitely be returning!

Went for dinner last night and it was awesome. Great service and the food was outstanding. I recommend the mushroom/shrimp crostini.

Just your average Italian restaurant. Have been to better ones in sauga. Portions are generous but the taste won't blow your mind. On the bright side, the service was amazing.

I don't know how any one can have anything negative to say about Gabriels. It is hard to find genuine servers, great cuisine, a fun set up and a great ambiance all in the same place, and a respect Gabriels for achieving this. It is the perfect place to take your family, friends and partners. The servings are huge and may I add extremely tasty. If the prices are okay for a student who works part time, I think they should be fine for any other person out there. If you want to try something you don't usually get, I recommend the gnocchi as well as the mushroom ravioli, those are my favourite pasta dishes. If you want something light I recommend the spinach salad or the goat cheese raspberry, they make eating salads enjoyable. I love this place and the only thing that makes it better are the pool tables they have up front. This restaurant has it all and I recommend it to everyone.

Waited forever. Like some of the other reviews we had issues with the wait time. Service was good, and our waitress was very nice, but it took over an hour from when we ordered our food to when it arrived, and when it came it wasn't incredibly good. The ambiance was ruined by a large, obnoxious group sitting along one side of the dining area. Overall it was not an enjoyable experience.

This is by far the best restaurant in missississauga<br/><br/>there food is amazing especially for my wife and i because we cant eat meat and there seafood selection is so good.<br/><br/>my wife and i met the owner who looks very young and is so nice especially to our young daughter<br/><br/>we would highly recommend this place to everyone because you can even play billiards (pool) before or after you eat<br/><br/>this place gets two thumbs up<br/><br/>and for everyone else who didnt have a good experiance here you could of easily talked to the owner and im pretty sure she would of resolved what ever issue you had<br/><br/>i cant wait to go back here its just so far for us because we live in markham that it takes long to get there and i t is expensive so we have to plan it out properly.<br/><br/>but when ever there is quality food it usually means it'll be expensive <br/><br/>i love this place keep up the good work this is the guy who came with his wife and daughter and we had thought your were a student :)<br/><br/>we will see you all soon

Nothing To Rave About. We came here as we had a coupon for $8.00 off a lunch entrée. When we walked in, we weren't greeted by anyone as there was no one standing in the front of the restaurant. We walked towards the back of the restaurant where the tables were. We saw a server cleaning a table; we then asked if we could sit down. She told us we could sit anywhere that we like (the restaurant was practically empty, with only two tables filled). We then waited for our server to come and provide us with menus, which happened a few minutes after we sat down. We chose our meals and waited another few minutes for our server to arrive. We settled on the Veal Sandwich With Fries and the Rustico Sandwich With Fries. The server had asked if I wanted a Mushroom Sauce with my fries, which I agreed to. I wasn't sure why my mother wasn't asked however, she ended up tasting some of my fries anyways.<br/><br/>We waited about five minutes for our server to bring us our beverages. Then, another five minutes for our server to ASK us if we wanted bread (we thought it was common courtesy to provide bread regardless). We were a bit annoyed with the long waiting periods, considering there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, we thought the service would be much faster. We received our meals after about twenty minutes (for a sandwich, we thought it would be much faster). The Veal Sandwich was too soggy as there was too much sauce which caused the bread to become soggy. As well, the fries were not warm enough, they were mediocre however, they could have been hotter. The sandwich had too much bread and not enough meat. We then had to wait a bit to find our server to get the bill. In total, our two sandwiches came out to $21 (this included the $8 coupon). We found this to be quite pricey considering the service was slow, and the sandwich was not as good as we had hoped. I will admit, this place has a great ambience to it, with pool tables, TVs, and a great view. However, the food is overpriced and non-tasty, and the service is slow. I may try coming here for dinner however, that may be a long shot.

Reservations are a joke here!. 8 of us went to dinner Saturday evening. We had reserved 5 days in advance and arrived on time for our 7.30 booking. There was a large party in the big room at the front and we waited around for awhile and when nobody came to seat us we went to the bar and enquired about our reservation. Eventually a server came by and told us our reservation would be a few minutes late as they were waiting for a table to become available. After a further 45 minutes we were told they were setting up another table for us.At 8.30 we were shown to our table which had been dragged in from the patio along with the chairs. This is the end of January so of course,tables and chairs are freezing! At 9.30 our meals arrived. I have to say the food was excellent, unfortunately by this time nobody was in any mood to really enjoy it. We asked to speak to the manager,who is the owners wife,and when she eventually showed up she offered no apologies for the delay or the seating arrangements. Their attitude seems to be that it is a priviledge to dine here so just shut up! After another 20 minutes trying to sort out bills we finally left around 10.45.So if you have a hankering to spend a hundred and fifty bucks on dinner for two and don't mind freezing your backside off for 31/2 hours in a place run by a pair of surly snobs, I recommend you try Gabriels!

Terrible Service and Decided to Leave .... I was excited to try Gabriel's as it had been on my radar for a few months, and after seeing positive reviews for their food, I thought a hot June evening would be the perfect time to check them out.<br/><br/>What I wasn't expecting was to walk into a bar with billiards tables as my first visual - and without a sign saying we should wait or seat ourselves, we tried to walk in and someone said we needed to wait. A tall blonde woman escorted us to a table and when we asked for a bigger table, she said she had to ask the manager. There were already 2 sets of 2 people at different tables for 4. She asked the manager and we were escorted to another table at the very back, where there was a birthday party behind us in the bar area. There was also a hot pot light over our heads which made it uncomfortable.<br/><br/>I tried to ask the tall blonde a few questions and she said GIVE ME A MINUTE. She said that at least 3 times and I guess decided she didn't like us so passed us on to another server.<br/><br/>This older woman server was also sassy -- she rolled her eyes at us when we asked if the pot light could be rotated to another position. She also said that was the FIRST that she ever heard anyone say anything about their lighting.<br/><br/>We ordered some wine and when the older server (a woman in her 50s, maybe late 40s) brought our wine, we couldn't stand the noise or lighting and tried to move to another window table.<br/><br/>After a few other snarky remarks -- we were polite the entire time and asked to be moved (we didn't just take it upon ourselves) and decided to leave our wine and not bother ordering.<br/><br/>These women were so awful that we didn't trust either of them to give us any better service if we ordered a meal.<br/><br/>We went to our favourite place at Rosewood Bistro in Sherwood Forrest. The server said she worked at Gabriel's years ago and said that the chef is great, but the servers are indeed crappy (my word, not hers). We concur and will never go back.

Add to Favorites.... Took some friends there for a celebration and was unexpectantly surprised. With no reservations and with the restaurant full, we were placed at the bar and seated within 10 mins. All eight of us thought the food was excellent with great service. The staff was efficient and very pleasant.<br/>Not sure what tanrentz below is complaining about back in Aug 09. He/she must work at that Dimmi restaurant and feels threatened.<br/>I heard from another patron that the chef learned how to cook the seafood while he apprenticed in Florida. Definitely add this to your favorites!

What a perfect evening!. My husband and I decided to go to Gabriel's Ristorante Bar and Grill this past Saturday. I need everyone to know that the evening was perfect!!!!! I had the shrimp paella and it was delicious. My husband had the 14oz New York Strip that was cooked to perfection. This restaurant is 5 star and family run!!! Excellent Food. The food is excellent from their mussels to their steaks and seafood paella. My only negative is that the dining is small and it can become very hot when it is crowded.<br/><br/>When the dining room is crowded, you are basically elbow to elbow with the other patrons. But the food is excellent.

Gabriels better than the keg. Their mussels are excellent/gabriels ceasar salad<br/>YUM<br/>steak cooked perfectly/small versions of any<br/>of their pasta's PURE HEAVEN!<br/>small dining section/good ambiance<br/>they don't rush you out within the hour like other<br/>places.... This is my new Happy Place!

VERY Dissapointed. I work in the area & decided to try lunch here. The sevice was terrible & the portions were even worse. I will never go back to Gabriel's. VERY Disappointed.<br/>Dimmi Restaurant is just down the street. Don't waste your $ @ Gabriel's.
