Review Moxies - Mississauga

That Little Chef
Great place! Love their white chocolate brownies of course. Our Server Tiffany was very kind and helpful. Only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars was that when seated at our booth it was dirty and we asked to be moved. Cleanliness could’ve been better when it came to chairs and the floor but food, drinks and service were AWESOME.

What a great quiet corner for a business lunch on the patio!! The creative gin cocktail was enjoyable. I will say though, reason for non 5 stars sadly, the prices have gone up and the amount of protein has gone down. I understand, but it is still difficult to go frequently. Excellent flavours, excellent service.

Amazing food, amazing ambiance and a special shout-out to our server Jordan for the amazing service! We definitely will be back soon!

We recently went to Moxie’s with a group of 13 for a family birthday. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service. No long waits. No delays. Food came out hot and all together. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server, Tristan, was amazing. The manager Tevon, was around to help. They are doing a great job there!

Great spot for a lunch meeting. The dining area is comfortable and inviting. Food at moxies has been a favourite always and the services matches that. Check them out

Met a GF for dinner. Upon arriving, I sat at the bar while waiting for her. There was a young lady manager behind the bar, chatting with 2 regulars, and I was there for at least 10 minutes, she never acknowledged my presence... At all... There was no on else behind the bar... Then finally a bartender showed up and offered me a beverage. I ordered the mango chicken and told the server /bartender about an allergy to spinach, and she reassured me there weren't any in this dish (no mention of spinach in the description, but I always mention it, just in case). I receive my dish and wouldn't you know it, I spot something green in the ancient grains... SPINACH.... thankfully I was careful and saw it before eating any. The manager was very apologetic, totally owned the restaurant's mistake and brought me another chicken dish sans spinach. I took the rest home and as I start eating it the next day, there are 3 hair in it (definitely not mine as my hair is really long and red).... Needless to say, I lost my appetite and my taste for Moxies for a while. Disappointed as hubby and I had been going at that location on a regular basis. I still give it 3 stars as I believe the manager handled the issue with grace and was incredibly kind. I know these things can happen, but I think any staff serving food should know what is in every dish as this could have turned out very differently had I not paid attention. Just my 2 cents.

I've been here a couple of times over the past few months.....a few with my wife, and others on my own. The people here are amazing and very friendly, including the GM, Jon, who has made the effort everytime I've visited to come over and say hi. I usually sit at the bar, and have yet to meet a bartender who isn't exceptional at what he/she does. The food is really good.....especially the nachos with added beef (with BBQ sauce). Nachos are my "go-to" food to munch on when I can't decide, and this Moxies has the best nachos hands-down. Moxie's Argentia has definitely won me over as a regular customer.

The ambiance is very cozy and warm. The three course meal we had was delicious. The red wine is aged to perfection and it was half price when we were there. Our server was so pleasant and friendly. She was very attentive and efficient to all our needs. It was a perfect Valentine's dinner with my husband. I would recommend Moxie's to everyone who wants to have a perfect service, excellent food and reasonable price.

From the time you walk in the door and ordered your meal to paying after. All were very friendly and enthusiastic that you came into their restaurant. Fantastic meal steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Very happy to oblige my request at dessert time. Overall I have always loved this location of the 3 that are within my travels on the west side of the GTA. Keep it u😄

The food was simply delicious. Loved it. Service wS fast too. The waiter was very courteous, he frequently kept on on checking if we liked the food or whether we need anything and so on.

We were so impressed by the food and service! There were 9 of us - 4 adults and 5 kids server was polite and patient with the kids. We are definitely going back! The adults did the prefix menu; the steaks were cooked to perfection. Two things that are a must-try - Baked/Mashed potatoes and the White Chocolate Brownie

Went there with my husband, being a vegetarian, it's the worse place to go as their vegetarian option is very limited. My husband ordered the portobello mushroom burger and they didn't have it... I wouldn't go there unless they expand their vegetarian options... I guess they fail to understand that alot of people are now going vegetarian/vegan.

Very delicious food and excellent service. I thoroughly enjoyed my Birthday Lunch with my family on April 23/17 on the patio. Thanks for helping to make my day very Special.

Came all the way from Mexico and stayed at this area but there were not a lot of options for eating. But I gotta say they had the nicest servers and one of the best burgers I've had in a while.

We were there for a Mother's Day brunch....great food, great service and a beautiful plant for every Mom to take home!! Everybody had a wonderful time. Thanks Moxie's :)

I'm a regular here but is this place under new management? Waited 10 minutes in the bar to be greeted as we watched all 5 servers and the manager stare at us at the cash talking shit. Once "greeted" we were informed the table was reserved, even though there wasn't a sign.. Now we are having an amazing experience at the Keg across the street!
Fouad Charabati
We ordered tenderloin and was excellent , the linguine shrimps also. My kids loved the chicken bites

We had a fantastic waitress, Netanya. It was refreshing to have her ask us what we like and to make suggestions on various food items.

The fish taco is a joke!! I will call it, a coleslaw taco with a small, tiny piece of fish .....

Long flights, delays, and another hotel... boooo Moxies offered a great reprieve after a brutal day of travel. It’s lively and the food never disappoints only downside is I’d like to see a slightly better beer list on tap, but I’ll survive all the same.

Also not sure $5 for maybe 6 little shrimp is worth the up charge, but they were a good add all the same.

Food was okay but service was bad as they didn't have my reservation on the system which also resulted in no acknowledgment of the birthday person that I had in my group.

Came here for a work party. Although there was a bit of a wait and some confusion with paying .. the food was SERIOUSLY WORTHY OF EVERY SECOND OF ANY INCONVENIENCE. I’m not even exaggerating I haven’t eaten a meal so delicious in a very very long time and I know it wasn’t just because I was hungry because I actually ate something before arriving. It was just amazing and too good to be true. It was phenomenal. Special shout out to the chefs. The mushroom steak was out of this planet and so was the twice baked potato and the broccoli was good too. I wasn’t a fan of the white choc brownie only because I am not a fan of white choc in general but the ice cream and some of the bites with the hot fudge were alright. Not bad but not mind blown either. People hyped it up so much I was a little underwhelmed. The Cesar salad was ok too. But the main course I would eat again for the rest of my life I would buy a million times. The service was good too. I feel like this is the best moxies from everyone I’ve been to thus far and had a luxurious feel even the washrooms were super cool (if u go into the woman’s u will see what I’m talking about). Overall perfect food and that’s what really matters at the end of the day.

Any time my sister and I want to go out for dinner, we usually end up at Moxies. The prices aren't bad, especially since you get a good amount of food on your plate, and the staff is often times very friendly, the food doesn't take long to come out! The Chicken Wings are pretty good, especially when crispy, and the Mosaic Dip is by far my favourite starter on their menu! As far as mains go, the Chicken Enchiladas dish is really good! And for dessert, you really need to try their Salted Caramel Pecan Cheesecake! Though It sits in a pool of fruit sauce, so it gets soggy a little, but very good nonetheless!

In my opinion, Moxies is another restaurant chain that gets it right most of the time. Tonight was not an exception. Very good service, and very good food.

We began with a starter Caesar Salad, which was easy to share in the long, rectangular plate, SWMBO is especially fond of their Chicken Enchiladas. Perhaps not the most authentic, but nonetheless flavourful and satisfying. Tonight I went with the Lobster &Shrimp Linguini. A small tender lobster tail, along with plump and garlicky shrimp, atop a bed of pleasant pasta.

Patio is great. They even have live entertainment on Wednesday Nights! Recommend reservations especially at lunch time(can book them online)!

Wonderful Service!. I seldom take the opportunity to write a letter of commendation, however, in this instance I feel that it is necessary.

Last Wednesday, April 1, 2015 I took my daughter to Moxie's in Meadowvale for dinner. This was the second time we have been there. On our first visit, it was a particularly busy night and because the crowd was unanticipated, there were not enough staff on hand. That night Nikki Boyd was our server and she went out of her way to make our evening as pleasant as possible, considering the lag time. She remained charming, friendly, perfectly poised and unflustered despite the irritability of some other patrons as they waited for their meals. She consciously tried to make everyone’s dinner as memorable as possible, including ours. I appreciated that and tipped appropriately.

Last Wednesday our server was Matthew, who carried out his duties remarkably well. I couldn’t help but notice though that Nikki was not serving. Instead, to our happy surprise, she came by and carried on a short, pleasant conversation with us recalling the events of our previous visit, which she remembered. When asked, she replied that she was now the Evening Supervisor. We both congratulated her on her new job, realizing immediately that it was a smart decision.

I was able to notice that Nikki carried out her new duties with the same warm professionalism that hallmarked her previous position. Her engaging personality, her solid work ethic and intuitive perception of what had to be done made everyone’s evening a success, from what I could see.

We would like to thank Moxie's for hiring such a dynamic employee. My Daughter and I now have a new favourite restaurant and will return frequently.

Dan Bowyer

Moxie's Elegance Friendliness and Efficiency. Such a great time with fantastic food and ultra amazing service. The whole team of people pulled together to make it a very wonderful dining experience in a very lovely atmosphere. The ambiance of the dining area, coupled with the friendliness of the staff were at the top of my enjoyment list

Great time on our 28th wedding anniversary. My wife and I were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and decided to go to Moxie’s on Argentia (Mississauga). I called ahead to let them know we were coming and were greeted on the phone by Kayla who, when we mentioned it was our anniversary became excited and ensured us that we would be well taken care of.

When we arrived, we were met by the manager Neal and a host. I mentioned that we were talking with Kayla and said that we were the couple that were celebrating the anniversary. They immediately recognized us and were equally excited. We were quickly whisked away to our private booth where we were to enjoy the rest of our evening. So far so good.

We met our server Nikki. She was warm and friendly and when we mentioned it was our anniversary, she instantly became a part of our celebration and throughout the evening, made it an unforgettable experience.

While the food was great and we really enjoyed the atmosphere, we have to say the service was outstanding and is the reason that Moxie’s Argentia will be a regular stop for my wife and I from now on.

Thank you so much to Neal, Nikki, Kayla and the rest of the staff that made our evening a memorable one.

Mike & Tammy

Service Was Good, Food Was Disappointing. We came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted immediately by the hostess. She asked us which section we preferred, and we mentioned that we would prefer the dining room. We sat down at a booth and were given menus. Our server, Kelsey, then came over and asked us if we wanted any drinks. She was very friendly and seemed quite energetic when serving us. We both settled on the Strawberry Daiquiri as a drink. The drinks arrived after about five minutes of us ordering them. They were not too delicious, and actually, too small. Most of the drink consisted of the ice at the top as opposed to the strawberry mixture; we weren't too impressed with these drinks. Afterwards, we ordered the Calamari as an appetizer. It came within about five minutes of us ordering it. The dish was very small, and the calamari were cut up into small pieces, they were not large or succulent. The sauces that had come with the calamari were delicious however, there weren't enough calamari pieces to enjoy them. After about fifteen minutes, our main dishes arrived. I had ordered the Chicken Madeira Rigatoni, while my friend settled on a Sirloin Steak. My dish was not too hot, and there were hardly any pieces of chicken or mushroom, most of it was just pasta. Also, there were too large pieces of garlic bread that were not hot and tasted stale. The dish was small for $17. My friend's dish was actually quite good but again, it was too small. The portion sizes are much too small, let alone expensive. We then settled on dessert, deciding on the White Chocolate Brownie. We had to wait about ten minutes for our dessert to arrive. This was actually the only large portioned item that we received during this lunch. There was a large scoop of ice cream, a big brownie, and a lot of whip cream; this dish was quite delicious. In total, we spent almost $100 for a meal that I could have made for $30. I wasn't too impressed with the food quality, I thought we were overcharged for food that should have been half the price. The service was great, but nothing to rave about. I don't know why I continue coming back to Moxie's, I've been disappointed one too many times.

And God Created Moxie's. Wonderful atmoshphere and pleasant staff. There is an excellent variety of choices on the menu and all seem to be prepared with quality in mind. I can't express strongly enough how amazing some of their meat dishes are, especially the fishes.
Love the women although last visit everyone was wearing pants (winter maybe??) too bad
Great place for business dinners.

Been visiting this chain for ten years. But I prefer airport and Square 1 locations more. remembered why a couple of weeks ago. Women here not as delicious. No short skirts at all. What happened? Lost its edge probably. Go to other locations. Food still very good and healthy.
Kon
Delicious food served by beautiful elegant ladies. This is my fave Moxie's coz we defiantely get goood food, drinks, kind service and the most beautiful elegant women ever. The waitresses here are so sure about their bodies I am in love. I have come to this location maybe ten times in last years. Recently I visited another Moxie's and wasn't as good so this location is the best. Shrimp seafood pasta and red wine it is usually but the hamburger is niiiice. Gets busy so show early

Good Food, but a little pricy.. Nice ambiance, friendly staff. My wife and I have been to Moxies a few times and we will return again. Very good restaurant.
Sanka
The food and beer was great. It is pricy so it is definitely not fast food, but good food.

Stay clear of this location. Have to say I've enjoyed Moxie's in the past. I've been to Square One and Etobicoke and the food & service has been great so we thought we'd try the Argentia one. Big Mistake!!! We went there for dinner (table of 6) and the food was mediocre and the service was awful.

One of our party had a dirty dish and when we told our server, she looked at it and said, "It looks clean enough to me". The portion size for the curry fish was a little scant so we made a comment to which our server just laughed. The appetizers were ok. The entrees were tasteless and boring. The chocolate trio was delish.

Other reviewers are right - it's become an upscale Hooters.
Kirsten
Nice dinner. Stopped in for dinner. Good experience. The atmosphere resembles The Keg and the menu is similar to Milestone's. All special requests were well handled and the food was of good quality. I would return if I were in the area again.
Nikki
Hmmm. I wonder if the girls are forced to wear skimpy outfits? doesn't really fit the image, but decent food
Anna
After coming home from long road trip, my boyfriend and I went out at about 10pm to grab a quick bite. We sat in the bar and it wasn't very busy. Our server Arlene took a long time to do absolutely everything. She was hardly at our table so a lot of the time another server would be helping us. Arlene did not appear to be busy and was just moving at an extremely slow pace. It took us an hour and a half to receive two waters, an appetizer and two mains. She didn't clear anything from our table until the very end, not even our menus! We were not pleased with the service, which is a shame considering the food was pretty good.
Nev
Pedestrian food served by Hooter girls. Is it really necessary to have the wait staff where skirts so short that you can almost see their butt cheeks? I guess if I went to Hooters, I'd expect that but this isn't Hooters. The service is almost cold but it's efficient (we're a table of girls and our waitress didn't flirt with us like the other table of guys). The food was really lacking. The portions were big but they were bland or they were overly salted. I'm not a fan. I had the arctic char. The fish was boring and the mash potato was bordering on watery. There are much better chain options than Moxie's.

Is It Really Called 'Classic' Grill? If So, Why?. E: Moxie's is a national chain, but I believe the menu choices are the same, or very similar, at all locations.
They do have all the standard choices, you know pasta, hamburger and steak, and like the whole 'premium casual' roster of restaurants has expanded into a dabble of East Asian and South Asian as well.
On my last visit I ordered the fish taco, which unexpectedly was made with cod. It was tasty and filling, but unfortunately the amount of fish inside was as puny as music on Much Music. It was whole wheat, which was healthier, but there was almost as much salad inside the taco as there was on the side of it. I prefer the fish taco at Earl's or Cactus Club Cafe (a Western Canada chain) despite their not serving cod, which is my preferred fish among the list of usual fishes like haddock or halibut served, in these tacos. We started with calamari, which was exceedingly bland. We ended up ordering hot sauce just to give the batter (dough) that surrounded the calamari some taste. The lemon juice was not doing it.
On a previous visit I was happy with their seafood linguine. My lunch companion was also happy with the food. Previous visits have been positive as well. However, I would not recommend either the calamari or the fish taco.
The prices are above average for a casual restaurant, but it does not have to be expensive with choices like sandwiches and salads. Most diners would imbibe alcohol and that can shoot (shot?) up the price.
-
A: Atmosphere is everything at Moxie's. Most Ontario locations are beyond busy - I have been to a Regina location twice and it was quiet in comparison - and the Argentia address is hardly an exception.
The booths, tables, bar and lounge is packed and well-decorated. The ambiance is noisy and the hustle and bustle is mixed with music and sports on TV screens in the bar area. The wait staff moves fast amidst the dark furniture, fire places and between sections.
The lounge section is more for those drinking, eating quickly or those who dine alone and like to watch professional sports or chat with the women tending bar. The main dining area has comfortable booths and is larger, but might entail a longer wait given the longer seating times and the more relaxed atmosphere.
-
T: The restaurant is busy and parking normally unavailable adjacent to Moxie's. The plaza is big and a five-minute walk is expected. Never mind that we parked right in front of the restaurant!
A much longer time lag is at the entrance and past the large doors of Moxie's. A reservation is a necessity; otherwise a typical wait time of 30 minutes is usual. Moxie's is popular so expect to wait.
The food does not take an inordinate length of time to arrive however. The kitchen is either large or organized or both. The bill is also easy to obtain.
I have also found their time estimates to be accurate.
-
S: The waitresses at Moxie's are hired and dressed to type and clearly part of the formula. It must be working because, like Earls or Joeys, they do not have a seat to give away. It is worth remembering that there are plenty of women eating here. On occasions when my companions were female they 'ooohhed and ahhed' about the food. On one occasion when I ate here with a male companion he debated whether to come back with his friend, friends, wife or as a group with his wife.
The waitresses are probably phoney, but do put on a good showing regarding service and accommodating special requests.
The hostess and a designated waitress often serve free food or drinks at the door for those waiting.
I appreciate their willingness to accommodate personalizations or order change requests.
Moxie's is a relatively new name in Ontario having originated in Calgary. They are expanding further east and have blanketed the map in the Toronto area. Given this kind of popularity they will still grow - the slower Regina restaurant notwithstanding - and be seen more and more. They need to keep up their service level, but watch their price levels and not weaken their offerings by catering to the masses and rendering their food flavourless.

Amazing waitresses. I've been hitting this place since it opened a few years ago. The staff are courtious and friendly and the bartenders and waitresses are all HOT. Been a regular here for a while. Go to the bar area as it is much better, more action, hot girls including patrons and great ambience. Steer clear from the food.
Alan
The good and bad. Great tasting food, the food has good variety, wine mark up is acceptable and the ladies look sexy and very above average. Blondes in heels. Oh. The portion size has dwidled I feel and sometimes the girls chat with their manager/floor manager instead of me. Yes I am tad jealous but shouldnt they spend time with me instead talking among themselves?
Go for their steak and red wine.
T
Extremely unprofessional staff!. I had a friend visiting from out of town and I wanted to treat her to a nice dinner and drinks. We arrived around 8:15p and were told that the wait for two wasn't long. We were clearly forgotten since it wasn't till after 9 before we were seated. When I went to ask how much longer, we were seated quickly after but received no apology for the mistake or wait. When we received our food there was no cutlery on the table, we had to request it and it took several minutes for one of the ladies to bring it over to us but the whole time we can see her laughing and joking with one of the male workers.
Dominik
Very good food. Nice choice of items, food quality (steak, prawns) very good, service was very friendly and timely.

Good but downtown Mississauga is better. The food was good and it looks classy but honestly I would say the square One location has hotter girls all around. Same food and same price I think but better entertainment value over there. Over there it makes more sense to order drinks because the set-up is classier, girls prettier and atmosphere better at Square One. and who really hates black cute skirts which they wear there??? he he he
Main Street
Love it. We eat here often - love the food, and always have great service. I wish they had bigger tables for larger parties, but for intimate dinners with 4 people it's perfect. It's a great place to buy gift certificates for too.
Meat
Food was great. Views were decent. Decor is nice. Menu prices are slightly more than a comperable chain restaurant but worth it, didn't feel ripped off.
The Leadership
Disappointing. We headed down for a nice dinner, six of us, needing to eat a good meal and see a good sight. We were looking for good food, served with class, Cactus's good service and the usual modern decoration. But, it looked pretty bare. I guess people knew something we didnt. The food was fine (everyone had brugers) , the decor as not up to par fro the chain for the chain and the ladies, seriously I believe Vancouver ran out of the sexy ones. The whole group was expecting standard beauty and we didnt see any.
