Review Tucker's Marketplace Restaurant - Mississauga

Our server is Jessica and she is friendly, funny and attentive. The food is good for its price, but not enough variation. The dessert gets pretty sad looking when customers don't cut cake properly. The salad is fresh but again not enough variation as both sides of the table is almost the same. The soup is good and so is the mussels. The make your own pasta/rice station is good idea, but the chef seems to be too occupy by preping other stuff at the same time so the outcome wasn't that good. Overall good service, alright food and clean place. If looking for good price for buffet worth coming, but if looking for variation and quality i would pay more and go to other places.

I was not expecting great food and that is exactly what I got. Most dishes are below average with a few above average dishes mixed in to make you think your entire meal was good. Soup and carvery are good and the pizza is good too. The dessert ranges from below average to down right awful. The fruit is fresh and the Miami bars and plain loaf cake are pretty good. The server was excellent and cleared the plates quickly and kept our drinks full. It was just plain OK at best.

The food is delicious and there’s a variety that doesn’t let anyone leaving this place complaining they didn’t eat a lot. From vegies fo pasta and a variety of meat and desserts, there’s something to please every taste. The atmosphere is amazing. An awesome place for a family, friends or company’s gathering.

Seriously the best buffet I've ever had. Worth the drive from anywhere. Marketplace style. Huge selection. Friendly service and delicious food. Will definitely be going back.

The quality of the crepe and omelette station seems to be heading a bit downhill. Otherwise the new pork belly addition was great! Service wasn't as friendly or attentive(just from our waitress) the general manager on duty was great as she addressed my concerns about the omelette and was much more friendly. The new guy folds the omelette with the cheese on the plate vs folding it on the pan to let the cheese melt(see picture and yes that is the omelette I was served). Also keeps hand flipping the omelette full of raw egg causing a huge mess on his station. Someone should probably show him how to make one instead of letting him find out how.

Stopped in for my *FREE BIRTHDAY MEAL* The atmosphere is great, the establishment is Clean, and big. The food is fresh, but could be hotter. The staff are AMAZING, Rita was also very lovely.

I fell on love with this place from my first visit (1997)..truly all you can eat more than worth it for the price. With a large variety to select from and on your birthday it's an extra special treat (FREE).

This is an fair Canadian buffet. There were stations for soup, salads meat, hot plates, pasta, pizza and dessert. I think most of the food was not bad.

We attended Tuckers for our anniversary on a Monday night for supper. Our waitress, Shenelle, was amazing. We asked about the favourites of other clients and she said what were the most eaten foods on the buffet. She recommended the ribs, as well as the roast beef. Our drinks were served fast and refilled often. Our plates were taken promptly upon finishing. The food was hot and fresh. The people carving the roast beef and ham, another favourite with us, were very generous. The dessert bar was very good and plentiful. Our only complaint was that we felt it was overpriced for a basic buffet. Since we live 2 hrs away it is not likely we will return on purpose.

** HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT**

We went here easter sunday to meet our family for brunch. I was late arriving and my husband was going to be even later joining us as he had to drop his children off at their home. I managed to get two plates of food in before my husband arrived. When he did finally join us he ordered a beer and went to get a plate of food. By the time he sat back down and his beer arrived our bill was already on the table and he was informed he had 10 minutes to eat as the server took away my cutlery. At no point did anybody inform us that there was a time limit on our seating and if so we shouldve been informed as he ordered his beer because then we wouldnt have shelled out $25 for 1 PLATE OF FOOD! The manager and server were checking their watches while pointing to our table. Im sorry I understand that the place was busy and most of our party was departing but we wouldve gladly moved to a smaller table had we been offered one. Instead we were made to feel uncomfortable as he shovelled in that one plate of food. Our bill was $68 and all we got was 3 measly little plates of food and pressure to leave. My husband approached a manager and she was fairly rude stating thats just the way it is and there were other reservations waiting. Im sorry but as a manager at a restaurant myself I know you never treat guests as a disposable asset. Needless to say I called the next day to speak to whom I assume is the general manager. She told me there is a policy that you can only stay for 1hr 45min. WHY IS THAT NOT STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE? WHY DID THE SERVER NEGLECT TO INFORM US OF THIS RIDICULOUS POLICY WHEN MY HUSBAND ARRIVED LATE?? My husband was in the building for 20mins tops. The manager took my name and # and said she would follow up after a bit of investigating as to what had happened so as to remedy the situation. Im STILL WAITING FOR HER TO CALL ME BACK. What a JOKE! Save your money go to Mandarin if you want all you can eat without hidden policies. We'll never go back seeing how management at this restaurant treats guests as though theyre worthless. What a waste of money and a lovely family brunch RUINED.

@
For those of you who happen to visit Tucker's Marketplace (formerly Mother Tuckers) around the second last week of May, you'll know that this place happens to fill up with otakus and cosplayers. Being both a foodie and a cosplayer (surprise, surprise) Tucker's sees my business at least twice a year, both of which are in roughly a 72 hour span.

I remember the first time stepping into Tuckers back in 2014; I was so happy to grab some filling food at a decent price. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. With a pasta station, carving station, two buffet tables of assorted hot food, a soup station, salad bar and dessert station, Tucker's felt like a wonderland for the weary and hungry convention go-er. And a wonderland it was, with great service, quick drinks and good food.

Fast forward to 2016. The service is still great, the drinks still come quick, and the food is well... the same. Still good, but walking in I lack the twinkle in my eyes like I once did looking at those buffet tables. A part of me loves Tucker's, but at the same time, wanting for them to at least update the recipes or throw something at me completely catching me off guard. Everytime I enter the establishment, it happens to be the same old reoccuring menu up for grabs. Consisting of "hand-carved roast beef & a changing selection of roast leg of lamb, pork turkey and ham" alongside "a changing selection of grilled fish, chicken and meat", though sounding like a lot of variety, the variety stays the same after multiple visits. Even though Tucker's offers so much more, I've never had the pleasure of tasting those other dishes. But I wont knock points for this being the case, due to the fact of the days I visit. It so happens that I always visit Tucker's on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday night, after walking around the convention centre and various hotels associated with Anime North.

Moving on, Tucker's also gives out free meals on birthdays (with I/D). They also have a VIP service called the "Tucker's Loyalty Club", in which frequent guests who enroll in TLC are rewarded for their continuing patronage. Services include: "TLC Dining Rewards." Every dollar of food and beverage purchases earns 1 TLC Point toward TLC Dining Rewards at Tucker’s, a “Many Happy Returns” Bonus Reward. Earn a $10 TLC Dining Reward when you use your new TLC Card twice within 30 days of enrollment, Members Only Events and Promotional Offers, Advance notice of Seasonal Programs and Priority Reservations. Sounds cool, I'm just not in the area frequent enough to care.

In conclusion, Tucker's is a great pig out spot, definitely one of my favourites in the area, if not the only one. Service over the years has been great and I hope I don't see that change. But I sincerely hope that the menu gets an update. After all, a static menu is one of the reasons why restaurants shut down.

It's getting to the point where we only come here on a birthday to get a free meal. The food CAN be okay, but it can also be bland and flavorless. If you're getting a deal, it may be worth rolling the dice. Otherwise, there are so many other choices in the area.

I've never been to this place even before when it was called Mother Tucker's. I was pleasantly surprised with the wide variety of food that's available. If you've never been, it's a buffet style restaurant. I've been to a few buffet style restaurant and this place is the best I've ever visited. All the dishes are seasoned good. Didn't need to add salt or pepper on anything. I heard several people saying that they were stuffed. One lady asked for a carry out. Wanting someone to carry her out. The waiter had a good chuckle.

Nice place for large groups. Price was good , Quality was good, Service was OK, (only OK)
Took far too long to get our bill. (went for a break) 7PM?
Fine Diner
Good food and service but same old same old offerings.. As a businessperson who has occasion to stay at the airport hotels I have visited Tucker's over the past three years. The food was great the first time, good the next time and just okay the third time. Service is excellent but the menu has not changed in at least 3 years. Preparation and variety is presented well but offerings predictable. A good restaurant but not one serious diners would want to go to more than once a year if looking for any variety.

Would not return. Heard good things about Tuckers - decided to go on Sunday, August 3, 2014 for dinner. While the food stations were clean the lady serving my table was horrible. We never received the speciality drink that was ordered when we arrived.. .she kept coming to the table asking if we were done while the fork was still in my hand Food was not hot all - meat was cold certainly not at all worth $24.00 for dinner. The variety was sparse - even the dessert was lacking. Mandarin is 100% more better for variety. I don't have money to waste so I will not be returning.

Nothing Special.. I had called here to make reservations for my boyfriend's birthday because you get a free meal if it is your birthday (with proof of ID of course). We came in and we were seated at a booth near the buffet stations. We were greeted by our server and were told to help ourselves. There is quite a lot of food to choose from however, the food is mostly cold and doesn't taste very fresh. In all honesty, the best part was the dessert as it was replenished the most often. Even the meat dishes that were carved by the workers weren't even hot, and they were on a hot plate! We weren't too impressed with the items that were offered. When I had called to make the reservations, I told them that I would like singing and a piece of cake from the staff for my boyfriend's birthday. When we asked for the bill, our waitress came to bring it to us and said 'we only do singing if you ask for it'. I had specifically asked for it therefore, wasn't too impressed with their disorganization skills. Just for myself, it cost $30, wow, definitely not worth it considering the quality of food that was present. Would certainly not come back here again that's for sure!

Won't Be Back. What a major disappointment. A group of us went for a family birthday celebration. First, they tried to seat us at separate tables. What? We have a reservation for a group -- were we wrong to assume that meant sitting together? They agreed to seat us together at several tables pushed together - unfortunately they were of varying heights so things would tip over if you weren't careful - but whatever. Some of our party ordered drinks, some water. About 20 minutes later the first drinks began to arrive. Finally, two glasses of water were brought -- guess it didn't occur to them that maybe everyone would like water?? Some of us did not have side plates but when asked, none were ever brought. Whatever. The senior in our group wanted water and finally flagged down the wasteress who complained, "I have a lot of people asking me for things." But wait -- isn't this a buffet? Don't we serve ourselves? So, basically, all you have to do is bring a pitcher of water and a few glasses.
The food was cold. Something that was described in the servery as a Yorkshire pudding could well have doubled as a shuttlecock. I decided to order a stir-fry because at least that had a chance of being warm. The person on that station flung more food on the floor than was actually getting in the pan. Back to the table finally and still no water. We continued on with nothing to drink. I finally got up and asked the front hostess where I could get my own pitcher of water -- I don't mind fetching and carrying. She said she'd get it for us. Great. But she didn't actually do it . Finally, I go to the kitchen and ask for a pitcher and a tap to fill it. I am told there are no clean pitchers and no clean glasses. I considered rolling up my sleeves and asking where's the sink? Eventually - now an hour and a half into our ordeal - I go looking for a manager. She grabs me by the arm and says in a soothing voice as though to a lost child, "Where are you sitting? Let's get you some water." She brings the water - now magically there's glasses?? She offers tea -- it arrives. One pot is hot - the other is not even tap warm. Too many things wrong. We won't be back.

Turn It Back To Mother Tuckers. Before it became Tucker's Marketplace it was Mother Tuckers . . . now that was a restaurant ! Every meal I had there was to die for. I 'always' ordered the Prime Rib dinner. Oh my goodness, you didn't need a knife to cut the prime rib, it was that tender. Heck my hubby and I would wait for over an hour for a table and my husband hates waiting with a passion. We would go to the bar and have a fantastic Bloody Caesar . . . or two, while we waited for a table. Half an hour . . . an hour? We didn't care. We knew what awaited us.

There are so many reasons why we loved Mother Tucker's that I could blog for hours extolling the virtues of this restaurant. Heck, we even had our wedding dinner there. We went to Mother Tucker's for special family dinners, birthday dinners, etc.

. . . then the powers that be decided for some reason unbeknown to me that Mother Tucker'ss should become Tucker's Marketplace. Perhaps they felt that they could save money by not offering quality cuts of meat and food or perhaps they didn't want the expense of paying the salary of a chef. I personally think that it was a financial reason; isn't it always?

My daughter and I decided to try out Tucker's Marketplace a number of years ago. Neither of us enjoyed the experience. There were different food stations, pasta at one, salads at another, etc. Nowhere could be found the incredible prime rib that I was still drooling for long after the demise of Mother Tuckers. The experience was somewhat novel, that's about the only good thing I can say about it. The food was bland and the experience, while somewhat novel was not the only restaurant to offer the food station concept. I have nothing against this type of restaurant, it's interesting.

To be fair, I should not have gone into Tucker's Marketplace with a view that it was actually Mother Tucker's with a different name. I should not have expected the same quality. I should have prepared myself to accept it for what it was ... simply another long line of eateries that exist solely to shove food down the throats of the masses, to heard them in and heard them out as fast as they can; no longer caring about preparing delicious food that has their patrons lining up to enjoy an incredible meal, a wonderful dining experience and fond memories of the experience.

Pig out spot. Went for lunch and they have a burger bar, It's a great idea to let us create our own burger or to make a crazy burger challenge. You know I went crazy and made my burger way to big but it was fun. Looking forward to next time.

Free on your Birthday!. Great hand made food, tons of selection, and free on your birthday (very expensive on regular days however). Best buffet this side of the border.

One of my favourite buffets. Desserts are not the best but not bad either. Food though is great!

Outstanding restaurant with way too many choices lol how am I ever supposed to stay on a diet? Stay away from the cesaer drinks - tastes like tomato juice but the Copper kettle "red" local brew is awesome

Mike really wanted to eat at Tucker's Marketplace on his birthday because he would get a free meal. They took his ID away for a while (to make a photocopy or write down his info???) and I wondered why. Maybe they mass fax it to all the Tucker's Marke

I went just this past Saturday looking for a good meal. I like buffet's but I'm never under the impression that I'll be wowed and at Tucker's Marketplace, I certainly wasn't. Maybe I did have higher expectations since they tout homemade fare. There is really not much to write about. The salad station is decent, they had some nice bread. The roast beef was meh. I liked the natcho station (can't really go wrong on that) and the chili was ok. Some of the chicken was cooked bone dry and the pizza sucked. If it was a few bucks less, maybe I'd think a bit better of it, but I do not feel it's worth the dinner price. My Server was nice and attentive.
