Review Bombay Bhel - Mississauga

Nice Indian Resturant. Food was really good snd mouth watering !! We love everything we ordered specially kingfisher pint 😉!! Their Dal Makhani , Naan’s was really good . Quantity of the food was decent according to the price. Chicken curry was good in taste as well . Overall it was a great choice to have Dinner on my Citizenship🙏🇨🇦. Service was really fast and to the point. They also followed all the safety measures. They have plenty of parking and its right next to service ontario (Hurontario & Eglinton) . Yes, its a must try and recommended!

Got the butter chicken and chicken biryani. Both were good. Butter chicken is on the tomato side, could use a bit more cream, but was still good. Biryani is darker and more flavorful at the bottom of the bowl, the naan on top absorbs some of the rice's flavor on the very top so keep that in mind. Just give it a good mix. The chicken quality is super high. Probably some of the highest quality chicken out there. Service is really good, like one of the best places for service I've been to. Very attentive. Decor is very, very nice. Definitely recommend.

Food was really good. We went for vegetable thali. Good amount and nice variety. Though not so friendly staff and we got a very strange reaction when we reached there and were waiting to be seated. The person was very rude even though 1 hour was left before closing. Later he got us seats though. The yummy food compensated that behavior, you can say. The masala chai was good too.

Came here a few time before covid. During covid I must say that I felt safe, they have great customer service, they kept everything clean, the food was served fairly fast and was great. Though BB is fairly expensive, I have to say their quality is equal, the butter chicken is rich and flavourful. The lamb korma was fantastic, the naans were fresh, the only exception was that the aloo paratha was a little undercooked, the flour was a little raw in the middle. But I was very satisfied with the taste. Tldr fast service, great customer service, tasty food.

Restaurant has a beautiful modern interior and very clean, we noticed how staff really cared about proper sanitation when cleaning for the next guests to be seated, definitely a hygienic environment. Staff is very welcoming and informative about the menu and attentive to your needs. The food is wonderfully delicious and rich in flavour. A-1! 👍👍👍

Unfortunately the value for money for this place has gone down. Price is only going up and quantity is going down - while quality/taste is lower than before ! Look at those tiny boxes for 16$ each - they are robbing clients. Stay away !

Fantastic Indian restaurant. The kebabs, dum biryani, and goat curry were all amazing. Authentic, well seasoned, and impeccably cooked.

Amazing experience! so glad we chose this restaurant to eat at. although we arrived a few minutes before closing, the staff was so kind and accommodating. within minutes of ordering we received our food which was absolutely delicious. i would recommend this restaurant to everyone. amazing environment, service and food. i’ll definitely be coming back.

the worst food ever. the chaat was all packed in seperate boxes. we were missing samosa in our order. the chana masala was not fresh. the dahi papdi chaaat was the worst. i will never recommend or go back to this place.

I have been to this place dozens of times. I give this place 5* because of the price to quality. It is very reasonably priced. I am of Indian origin but usually I don't go to Indian restaurants because I consider that not only their price to quality is wanting, I also find that they do not provide good service. However this place is an exception. I find Mandeep Singh very hospitable, genuine and sincere. I am also fond of being served by Surya and Raj. Some of their dishes I and my friends relish are chicken seekh kabab, lamb curry, tandoori jumbo prawn and dal makhni. We have tried many other dishes and most of them are quite good. In particular, their fish dishes are delicious. Worth a try for anyone who is looking for a bite of authentic Indian food.

I went there with friends since I have been to Erin mills a lot of times. It was a shear disappointment. The biryani came without raita, bhindi masala seemed like it's been pressure cooked separately and thrown in with rest of masala later. The prices seemed high and it's totally different in Erin Mills. Won't go again.

I met the owner of the place when i went there to done with my family, must say a very friendly man! The food is nearly an authentic Indian flavour but slightly twisted to meet the palate needs of Canadians. All said and done the food is good and I would go there again. The paintings put up here are quiet interesting as well, a nice Indian touch to the ambiance. Worth a try!

I liked the garlic naan it was perfect just like how I like it but the butter chicken was underwhelming. I feel like it didn't have enough of the tomato taste but I was glad it wasn't spicy. Reasonable prices. Great customer service!

Went in to celebrate cousins birthday we 8 people. Ordered chat papdi and bhel puri ( both were good ) .
Restaurant was empty but they took 45 mins to bring the food . Ordered malai kofta , chick peas and karahi paneer and chicken. Everyone liked the food but quantity was small compared to the price.

I've been here on several occasions. I've given it several chances thinking each time it would be different. Sadly the service and food remain sub-par. We were told a dish could not be modified to exclude one item causing a serious medication interaction, and service has taken ages; the most we've gotten by way of courtesy is a mere hello. No smiles, no frills. The food is about mostly as expected and nothing extraordinary. Considering the wide range of Indian dining options in Mississauga, I won't be wasting any more of my money here.

Went there yesterday again for the 3rd time this month. After hectic shopping reached back to mississauga only around 9.30 pm and they managed to accomodate us with 10 minute notice over a phone call though they were quite busy. Again Fabulous food. We being veggies(including my sister visiting us for holidays), we had sev puri, dahi puri and Paneer tikka as starters. Kids had a feast on paneer tikka . Main course (paneer makhanwala and daal fry) were also equally good. Recommend any day and its much better than some of the overhyped indian restaurents of Brampton.

Went here recently, quite a busy place. Had to wait around 20 minutes for our turn on a Sunday night. We ordered chaat papdi, malai kofta ,daal makhani, and raita. It was nice, like any average Indian food at a restaurant. Service was a little slow but they were busy so I dont have complaints. The manager was nice, he came and spoke to us and also gave free ice cream to the kids! Nice ambience. Do visit!

I have been to this place more than 5 times now. I love the menu and the food. Service is upto the mark and so is ambiance. I have tried ala carte and also their thalis. I lived the quantity of thali, enough for a person. Just a suggestion that they can may be have indian salad instead, that goes with Indian food. Overall very well satisfied to visit again. And again.

Good food but the service is very bad....we changed our tables...and the person servicing ordered us to carry our water glasses to the other table...is this Hospitality??

Amazingly Passionate Food. I and my wife went in for a causal dinner, but hadn't figured we'd be eating such amazing food. The dishes we ordered were " paneer tikka (which comes with Naan!!!) cheese butter masala You could literally feel the passion put into our dishes from a unique dynamic duo "Husband and Wife". Simply remarkable a must eat place!!!! Pls enjoy!!!

Great value for the price. Highly recommend the mixed platter dish. The servers weren't the most helpful, but the quality of the food and quick turn around time made up for it.

I went towards the end of lunch service when I knew the restaurant was bound to be less busy. I liked the atmosphere and the food - ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken, lamb karahi and malai kofta. Food was decent, I've had better

Rude staff and mixing of chicken in vegetarian dish. I ordered Kadhai Paneer and, 1 naan, and veg biryani for take away but i found CHICKEN PIECES in paneer dish and when i informed those guys they were like so rude and casual about this and were telling that customers like you should not go to such places where they serve meat too rather go which is pure vegetarian restaurant(is this the only option left for vegetarians?)
they were not at all apologetic, and misbehaved too. very sad and feeling very disappointed

Amazing Food!. We had come here on a Sunday evening at around 6:00 pm for dinner. When we walked-in, we were immediately greeted by a gentleman at the front. He asked us how many would be dining; we replied with three. We were seated at the back of the restaurant which had a booth on one side, and chairs on the other side. We were given menus immediately after having been seated.

We browsed the menu, which was a beautifully decorated menu, complete with a whole range of items, from non-vegetarian to vegetarian. After browsing the menu for quite some time, we finally settled on the Butter Chicken With Rice for myself, and the Lamb Curry With Naan for my husband. We also ordered our beverages, which was water.

Once we had chosen our options, the server came back within about three minutes with our waters. Our friend had settled on the Dahi Poori to start therefore, it had arrived at the same time as our beverages had arrived. I had never tried the Dahi Poori before therefore, I was pleasantly impressed with how delicious it tasted!

The yogurt and tamarind sauce was fresh, meshing perfectly well with the crispy shells and chickpeas. I could have eaten all of it however, I knew that my main dish would arrive soon so, I only tasted a little bit. I usually settle on the Papri Chaat when I dine at Bombay Bhel however, the Dahi Poori is definitely an option to consider for the next time.

Once I had finished trying the Dahi Poori, the Butter Chicken With Rice, along with my husband’s Lamb Curry With Naan, had arrived. It only took about ten minutes in total for both of our main dishes to arrive once we had ordered them, which we thought was exceptional service.

When I tried the Butter Chicken, I was in HEAVEN! I really don’t know how they make the cream sauce taste so good but trust me, it was HIGHLY addictive! I liked it so much that I ended up using the naan to wipe up the remaining sauce that was on the side of the bowl. The chicken inside of the cream was so moist and tender, it melted in my mouth!

The rice came in a small bowl, which I used to place on my dish, then pour the sauce over. With the rice and cream together, along with the chicken pieces on top, it made the perfect dish! The naan was well-baked, tasting hot out of the oven, and soft, just the way it should be. I tried my husband’s Lamb Curry, with that tasting just as divine as my dish!

Once we had finished our meals, we were ready for the bill. The server came by with the bill within about three minutes of us having had asked her. Our bill came out to $32.15, which we thought was an exceptional price considering that we had received two full meals which were both exceptionally appetizing.

We also enjoyed the atmosphere as the booth was soft with pillows, while the restaurant boasted décor of Indian heritage, with beautiful statues and pictures lining the walls. The light fixtures were also divine as they looked to be antiques. We enjoyed the service as various servers would walk around and pour water in our glasses once they had noticed that our glasses were low. This was all done without us even asking for it to be done.

All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend that you all give this place a try. I have been to one other location of Bombay Bhel, and was also highly impressed with the food, atmosphere, and service there as well. You will definitely not be disappointed, and you will surely leave with an excellent taste in your mouth!

Best butter chucken. Had the butter chicken with garlic naan for lunch. There was enough for me to pack for dinner! It was hands down the best butter chicken I have ever had! Food was so flavourful and fresh! Ambiance was beautiful. Will definitely be going back with friends and family!

Vegetarians avoid Bombay Bhel. We ordered vegetarian thali as our options were limited. The thali didnt have option to choose a bread. the Nans were very thick. The smell & taste of all the side dishes were below ordinary. The price of thali was high compared to other Indian Veg thali prices. Only the ambiance is good.

Very disapointing!. Here we go, i dont order food to much but when i do i want indian food because i love it.
the price is ok, but i can honestly say that i didnt like the taste at all.
I am so disapointed you guys have no idea.
tandori chicken dont taste the way is supposed to it is water down flavor...
The rice, well we had 2 kinds
byrione veggie and lam byrione the amount is enough it really is, but i personaly didnt like
the taste at all.
I am not trying to be a pain because i am not, really.
There is a place called bombay to go, trust me the food in there is way, WAY BETTER than this
yes the pain in the ass part is the waiting time but the food in there is totally worth it.

i am very sad to say this, but i will never order from this place again.

Sadly dissapointing. Been frequenting this place for years now...over the last 5 visits it has consistently been disappointing so no more. They served me tandoori chicken and it was so spicy- I returned it and they brought me the same chicken (except it was washed). Food is inconsistent- place is dirty, but the staff is nice. This place is awful and I won't be returning!

Worst Food With Good Ambience. 1. I had panipuri...and it was the worst that I had in my lifetime. Puri's were so thick ...that ripped the skin in my mouth. Pani was dark brown and very thick like sause...and tastes yuck. Price was 6$, with 6 panipuri's...and no onions...

2. Restaurant name says" Bombay Bhel".....please don't try Bhel puri here....
Its worst.

3. Had Tandoori Chicken....it hardly smelled like tandoor...with no flavor at all....

4. Pricey restaurant......only good thing about it...is...its clean...and the atmosphere is good.

Average , quantity of the food isn't as much , but on the whole average restaurant

Good. It's the best indian place that is close to me. I love the non-veg thai. It's a bit of everything, esp good for people new to indian food.

The first impression i.e the look was good. We ordered papri chaat which was good. We also ordered $14 Chicken Biryani. I had no idea why the price was that much? And it tasted like rice & chicken curry has just been mixed, well it was not worth it. Don't try the biryani it's not good at all.

Great!. This is a great Indian restaurant! The service was great and very quick. The food was amazing! We will definitely go back.

Excellent food and ambience. Visiting Toronto. The food was excellent, nice ambience and staff was courteous

Too salty. Probably the worst butter chicken I've ever tasted. Was too salty, tasted more like salted butter. Service was great, atmosphere was great. The garlic naan was really good. Prices were normal. Just got traumatized by that butter chicken. Oh yes, lamb vindaloo was awesome.

Bombay bhel was the worst restaurant I've been to for a long time! We ordered appetizers and they were good but they never came back to take our entree orders. We waited a half an hour until my brother asked one of the servers to take our orders. They told us we had to wait another 10 mins. By this time we were frustrated wanted to go to another place so we asked for our bill and left. I would never reccomed this place. Do not go here, there are better places!

The Original Bombay Bhel. E: I have been eating at this original location located on the corner of Hurontario and Eglinton for nearly ten years and have not ever been disappointed.
Their food is consistent and delicious. The rice is basmati and light, yet as Indian food tends to be very filling. The vindaloo is spicy, but never overly, the masala is tangy and the karahi a premium among Indian dishes.
Their chicken, whether lollipop or tandoori, is filling and tasty as well. All curry dishes offer choice of rice or naan (baked Indian bread) as accompaniments.
A former friend discovered the thali tray, which is comprised of a choice of meat, yogurt, pudding, chicken and pickled vegetables, and even that is tasty, filling and impressive.
On one occasion a gentleman next to me was indulging in French Fries. Was he missing McDonalds? Did he confuse Bombay Bhel with Bombay Harvey's? Was he thumbing his nose at the creeping cultural invasion that is replacing his favourite staples like hamburger, fries and peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Whatever the case, I know for sure that Bombay Bhel serves French Fries as well.
I would not order the lassi yogurt drinks given their prices. A meal for two will be no more than $50 tip included.
-
A: The restaurant is mid-sized, but still could hold too few tables for the lunch or dinner crowd. It is packed with the corporate lunch crowd at noon and with a mixed Indian/Non-Indian population in the evening.
The restaurant is simple and designed with a nod to India. A waterfall is installed at the far wall.
The take-out area is cordoned off from the rest of the restaurant.
-
T: Parking can be harrowing in the plaza. I do not linger and drive all the way to the side.
Once inside it can require a wait before one is seated. One might require some patience at the door. It can be slow. getting a water re-fill or the bill is rarely snappy. The co-owner/manager has occasionally stepped into assist.
-
S: Like the other Bombay Bhels I have visited they are happy to accommodate modifications or to personalize the food. Be prepared to wave emphatically for service.
On one visit a year ago we found the owner at the table and asked him about the restaurant with the same name in Vancouver. The name and logo of the East Vancouver restaurant is the same and we wondered about their arrangement. He would only demure that the GTA chain has an "arrangement" with the Vancouver establishment - closed since however. He also added that the restaurant he really enjoys in Vancouver is the pan-Asian Banana Leaf.

My favourite Indian restaurant. Great place. Gorgeous interior. You can't go wrong with the thali - which is a bunch of little samples of different things. It usually feeds me into the next day, and everything is delicious!

I get dinner here fairly regularly and have tried most of the menu. I haven't come across a menu item that I disliked yet. The butter chicken and beef vindaloo are among my favorites, and the tandoori platter is a great choice for 3+ people. The quality is quite consistent. Occasionally the service is a little slow but they have never given me anything serious to complain about after dozens of visits.
JANI
Usually really tasty & smokey. Not sure how authentic but don't care too much as it just tastes good.

Lazy attempt at Indian food. Bombay Bhel is average or slightly below. I have had too many wonderful experiences in classy Indian restaurants throughout the GTA, Brampton, and Mississauga, and Bombay Bhel definitely does not make the list. The food is unimaginative with lazy shortcuts. For example, chicken biryani which is a slow cooked delicacy of meat, rice, spices and nuts (if authentic and made respectably), at Bombay Bhel is a mix of 10 minute pilaf and butter chicken parading as the real thing. The staff is slow, and disorganized probably because of poor management although you see the owner making his rounds, uncomfortably staring and hovering whilst you eat his mediocre preparations. Really, unpleasant, lazy Indian food.

It's a great place for take out. I really enjoyed the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. The butter chicken is really good too. Yummers.

Consistent. Food is good. The Burnhamthorpe location is incredibly clean and the staff is very friendly and fast. Though this isn't the best indian food place in the GTA, it's still worth going to.

Good place fir chat papri. Dishes are ok too. Small but good ambiance

Best indian food anywhere. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants, but I find bombay Bhel surpasses them all. Especially the Hwy 10/Eglinton location. The meat is of highest quality, the sauces are superb and the naan is to die for (garlic naan.... Delicious!). When you think you have tasted it all... They bring out the Paneer tikka and it melts in your mouth along with the Baingan Bhurta. Is there a better dish then the Baingan? I don't think so! Personally, my favorite food used to be Greek, Lebanese and the Thai. Key word is used to be. Then I experienced the explosion of flavor at Bombay Bhel and now Indian tops the list. Way to go Bombay Bhel, keep up the great work!

Definitely not going back in a hurry for this. Did not enjoy the Chicken Biryani at all. It was expensive and tasteless.
The tandoori platter was no better. Out of two types of chicken, beef and fish, only one of the chicken was good. The rest was all overcooked and dry.

For a takeout of two biryanis, a tandoori platter and 3 samoosas, it was not worth approx $62.00, There were many other buffet restaurants that would have provided a better choice for dinner. Is it because we got takeout????

Never to visit again. We wanted to have nice dinner on a good occasion. We ordered for Chicken Vindaloo. Salt was about 300% high. Possible that cook salted mistakenly. When asked for replacement, it was brought back in a minute. Obvious that cooking not possible in one minute and gravy was just made up and brought back. When informed to Weighter, his justification is Vindaloo is typically tangerine. There is a sea of diff. in Salty and tangerine. Even cutleries were not given until asked for after serving food. It was chill on a rainy day. Ambience, food, Weighter are all not worthy of their pricey menu.
Firefly
We ordered butter chicken and mattar paneer. Didn't like either. Chat papdi was also below average. Definately not worth the $$. The ambience and service are good but the food is not tasty. There are many other better and cheaper restaurants around. Try Imdian Curry House in Brampton.
Angela
I love Bombay Bhel, whenever i go with someone I always split one order of butter chicken and get a side order or naan and rice to share because it is just the right amount for two to share. Also the samosas are great, a little expensive but worth the price to have one or two as an appitizer.
Brutus
Good Indian food. On the pricey side especially if you want simple sides.

DON'T GO IF YOU ARE VEGITARIAN. We went to Bombay Bhel in Mississauga on last Mothers Day. We ordered Kadai Panner but they gave us Chicken Paneer. When complained they quickly changed the dish but my family already had eat some. Management did not offer any apology saying it's routine of mixing up dishes in food industry!!! So avoid them if you are strictly vegetarian. Go to 100% veggie restaurants like BRAR or Village of India or Sarvana Bhavan. These people have no respect for Vegetarians.

Nice authentic indian food. Taste is good. I like the goat curry. Interiors are nice unlike lot of indian restaurants. Service could be better Overall a nice place to have an evening dinner.
Mrs. Chin
The butter chicken is ok. I've had better. But overall good quality.

Tatiana says that this is her absolute favourite butter chicken. I believe she says that because it is catered towards white people. The butter chicken is very buttery, very creamy, and the chicken pieces are huge! I do agree that it is very good!

Bombay Bhel is our nearby go to Indian restaurant. It might not be as nice as others, but it's not too expensive either.

We start with beef samosa ($1) which were packed with beef, potato and green peas with an added kick of spice. The sauce helps cool the spice down with its sweetness.
We tried something new as this is reshmi chicken tikka ($12.95) which is mildly spiced and marinated in cream. It is dry cooked, but unexpectedly moist inside. They did a really good job cooking this and/or the cream makes the chicken juicy. Either way the chicken was excellent and tasty with a bit of spice. I would definitely order this again and would seek it out at other restaurants.
This bhindi masal ($10.95) is fresh okra cooked with onions, tomatoes, potatoes and a special blend of spices. Another dish with spice, it's a wonder why Kitty likes Indian food so much.
The basamati rice was perfect and went well with our dishes. A quality meal with excellent flavour and cooking technique. I'm not

Nelson @ Hurontario & Eglinton: Having no food at home and big snowstorm outside is not a good combination. We decided to venture out to someplace close by and try to feel warm and we ended up at Bombay Bhel.

We had beef Samosas to start, light flaky pastry envelope stuffed with seasoned minced beef, potatoes and green peas ($1 each). These are different from ones I've had in the past because it was very oily and had a lot of meat. The pastry was a lot like a spring roll envelope. Or perhaps I am just used to vegetarian samosa, which probably taste better anyway.

We ordered two mains, a chicken korma ($14.50) cooked in a mild chashew nut cream sauce and a palak paneer cooked with curried spinach ($10.95). Turns out the paneer was really oily as well especially surprising for a vegetarian dish. The Korma was very good though and you could taste the nuttiness if know it is made of cashews.

I've had better Indian food, but this was a filling meal and hit the spot.

The food is quite a good match for the way Indian food is supposed to taste.

The ambience is very similar to an actual Indian restaurant in Mumbai, so it's an experience that's close to home for someone of Indian origin, like me.

We ordered the Chicken Tikka w/ Butter Naan. I would definitely recommend the duo - it can be a little dry but I sometimes prefer my food that way - the meat is tender and marinated to perfection.

Was in Mississauga the other day with a craving for Indian food, so stopped at Bombay Bhel when we spotted it. I lived in India for the previous six months, so I have a well established obsession with butter chicken and biryani, and hoped to find some decent quality stuff. The place was nice enough, though nothing to rave about as far as the interior goes. We ordered the bhel poori, chicken tikka, butter chicken, chicken biryani and lamb vindaloo. The food was mixed. The chicken tikka and bhel poori were halfway decent, and the vindaloo was very nice. The butter chicken was average at best - definitely a let down. The biryani wasn't bad - the chicken was not cooked well, but the rice was nice. If i was in the area, i'd consider giving it another shot - the vindaloo was great, so perhaps the lamb/mutton dishes are the way to go.
