Review Apricot Tree Cafe - Mississauga

A A
We went for lunch in this restaurant and had Wiener Schnitzel, Quiche and Apricot Tree Sandwich. All were served with mixed green salad on the side. They were all big portions and tasted so good. The schnitzel was lightly battered, the pork moist and tender and had a mushroom sauce on the side. The pulled pork and quiche were flavourful. No wonder the place is packed the food was delicious. The place is clean and service was excellent.

Super cute and quaint brunch restaurant in Mississauga. They also have desserts that you can purchase from at the front. The ambiance is open and warm, and the service is good. The menu itself was fine but could benefit with some more options, but the food is good and reasonably priced. I got the salmon flatbread and salad, which was delicious and had good flavour. Been here twice before and both times were positive experiences!

Super service, terrific tasty dinner, wonderfully fresh arugula salad, and an attractively priced wine list - what a nice night! Let’s also add smart health protocols (proof of vaccine required, lots of HEPA filtration). A warm greeting at the door and Jane taking great care of our table made for a very enjoyable dinner and night out!

We had my cousin's baby shower at The Apricot Tree Cafe and they exceeded all of our expectations! Franz was very helpful answering all of my questions and responded quickly through email. The staff was so friendly and helpful on the day of our event. We were able to set up our decorations with ease and the place looked amazing! The food was delicious and our guest were raving about how amazing the food was as they ate. We will definitely be going back to eat there and for our future events. Thank you for making our event such a success!

Went here for the crepefest and had a few great crepes. The dessert crepes were definitely much better than the dinner crepes that we had. We were missing the atmosphere when they used to actually have trees inside as part of the decor. Everything was clean and the waiting service was very friendly. A bit more on the expensive side for crepes but great overall experience.

👍🏻 I will go back….. to try the apple pork crapes and Wiener Schnitzel . We started with the Warm Brie Tart and it was amazing. For the mains, we had the lobster crapes that were delicious and the short ribs that were ok. I saw the Wiener Schnitzel and it looked amazing and heard a lady say it was better than what she had in Germany. We did not have desert but it also looking delicious. Nice little place that could use a facelift inside. They are very covid conscious and require vax documents and spent big $$ on air purifiers. It was good!

An institution for fantastic food and service in Mississauga! Great food - from brunch to dinner, and incredible dessert options (highly recommend the Raspberry Dark Chocolate Tart). Always happy to introduce friends to this spot! And during the pandemic they have added many equipment for everyone's safety, like new HEPA filtration system throughout the restaurant.

Recently went for a birthday party with prix fixe menu. I got squash soup which was amazing, salmon with saffron rice - really good except the veggies were hard and I had crepe for dessert. The servers were patient taking care of our big crowd.

I forgot if I chose to write it like a story or divide my post into sections. Since my feedback is quite short for this restaurant, I will not separate all my comments. I was told by my friends that the washroom is downstairs but that it is hella scary. I’ve read enough horror stories to stay away from creepy washrooms so I opted to use the handicap one (on the same floor). Not sure if any of you have a comment about that. I recently read a scary story on Annie69 and have been acting like a scaredy cat. Anyhow, restaurant is located in a very nice plaza. I have one complaint, there is an exit that opens to an inner street. I thought there would be another opening right beside it as I couldn’t find a close enough parking spot, WRONG! Just don’t leave the parking spaces, do a U-Turn within the narrow spaces if you have to lols.

My friends noted that the cakes here are amazing. I’m sorry to disappoint you readers but they were meh. The chocolate one was creamy, but the rest were too sweet for my liking. On the other hand, I was SUPER impressed by their pasta. I ordered their daily pasta and the sauce was so good. Creamy, flavourful, not too overwhelming, and big portions. I’m so glad I ordered the pasta and would totally recommend you to do the same. At the end, I could not finish it. I love it, honestly it tastes better than most pasta I’ve had in downtown Toronto. That’s something that the restaurant can boast about

Maybe because I'm Asian and I don't like my sweets as sweet as most people. So the desserts here did not appeal to me. The flan was too rich, solid, and sweet for my liking. The layered cake: sponge was dry, white layer of cream was meh and the fruits was like a jam. I think I got latte, which was also pretty meh - I'd have to sadly say I prefer my starbucks one over theirs.
I had some friends who hyped this place up, but I cannot grasp what it was that they liked so much about this place (certainly not the food). Not worth what I had paid as the interior was rather old. Not the quaint rustic feel old, but the you can tell they need some polishing up and reno done old.

The Apicot Tree Cafe - I had been dying to try this place out over Reading Week with a close friend of mine but unfortunately never got the chance to. This time around, I not only got to try out their Crepe Fest menu, but also take some seriously foodgawker/Pinterest-worthy shots of their desserts!

This place is a complete gem! Hidden away in a small, but very cozy (and totally photoshoot-appropriate) plaza, The Apricot Tree Café is the ideal location for a satisfying meal with a couple close friends or indulging in delectable after-work desserts.

Went there for a simple dessert with the fiance and ordered some crepes. The crepe was served cold and we asked why it would be stone cold. The waitress said they were made the same day but in the morning. This was at 8pm in the evening. We dont understand why a simple crepe could not have been made on the spot! Who serves DAY OLD CREPES to their customers?! I asked whether a fresh order could be made and the waitress said that it was not possible as all crepes are made a day in advance or in the morning. At this point we opted to have it placed in the microwave. This was a complete disgrace. The crepe was hard and stale - I never thought that was even possible to be quite honest! It had a paper taste to it. As per a prior review the latte was bitter and a huge disappointed - we should have opted for Starbucks next door for our coffees/lattes.

Perhaps slightly picky, however they did not even have Nutella. They served a mousse with their crepes. I would suggest going elsewhere.

Great Service. Had a delightful lunch there today and my friend who is recovering from a cracked vertebrae in her neck was walked out to my car by a wonderful employee as it hailed and rained and he was so helpful. All of us will go back for the food and service!! Thank you.

The decor could use an upgrade. It looks nice on the outside but is pretty dingy when you get inside.

The service is pretty great. Our server made sure everything was alright and came back to ask for our honest opinions, which was very refreshing than the norm.

We ordered the Toblerone Cake & the Chocolate Raspberry Strudel - both were delicious and quite light. They didn't leave us with perpetual regret or in a sugar coma, which is awesome.

Read most recent reviews, don't pay attention to ratings. I was really hoping I would like this place... To my disappointment... The latte was gross... And the tiramisu crepe was such a waste of money... This is all really subjective information and really just my opinion... But from the ratings I as expecting something so much more than what I got. all I got was a slopping messy crepe and it was covered in way too much whip cream. 2 sloppy lady fingers that were placed ontop of the crepe... My recommendation... Don't go here... You'll be much happier grabbing desert at demetries or some place else

This restaurant was a disappointment from the moment I walked in. I was not seated, rather told to sit anywhere by a server. Which is completely fine, but then they ignored me for a good 15 minutes until I got up and asked for a menu. Then they didn't have all of their menu items available. Finally, the waiter spilled water all over me, my phone which was on the table, and even my purse which was on the floor. Luckily my phone was not completely destroyed, but I did have to eat my meal very damp. I was most disappointed that the manager did not offer me any sort of discount or gesture of good customer service for the mishap. Overall, TERRIBLE customer service at this establishment. I must say, the food was good though. Don't waste your money on the bruschetta, but the french onion soup is fantastic. Also the crepes are wonderful. Regardless, you may want to steer clear of this place if you expect good customer service when you spend money at a dining establishment.

I ate in for dessert tonight (at 7:30 pm). I really wanted to like this place, but sadly, the pastries and crêpes did not live up to the hype. I should also mention that the highly recommended, signature "apricot crêpe" dessert has been removed from the menu - which I was very disappointed to hear. The crêpes are average at best, and the famous pastries (apparently baked by a legitimate Austrian pastry chef) tasted very stale and dull by the time it reached my table. I couldn't finish a single slice; it was disappointing. The restaurant itself was very cute, and I service was great. I would still like to return to this restaurant to try the savory menu. (:

The decor desperately needs an update. Service was very slow. On a positive note, the quiche was fantastic. A good sized piece, excellent crust and delicious filling. The salad was also delicious although the portion was too small.

Preposterous Staff. After witnessing the manager fire a poor young lady, saying that she was late for her five o'clock shift when the time i overheard this argument was maybe 4:56, I will never eat here again. I was almost as confused as she must have been. I feel sorry for anyone who works for this place.

Disappointing. I was excited to come here for dessert because I've read and heard so many good things. It was SO disappointing. The place looks really outdated and the desserts were O-KAY at best! Not coming back..

Bad & Slow service. My husband decided to take us to this restaurant for dinner because of the great reviews but were very disappointed. We ordered soup and a chicken pasta that took 45 minutes. It seemed that the order only expedited when I told them that I would like to cancel the order after waiting for almost an hour. The waitress then told me that the order is almost ready and suggested if I wanted to take it to go. There was either a bad communication between the waitress and the kitchen or very inexperienced waitress..either way, I would never go back to this restaurant again. And I would not recommend anyone with young children to go to this place either because of the long wait they would experience!

Just OK.. We decided to come to this place after reading the reviews for it on here. When we walked in, it was very crowded and we weren't sure where to stand in order to be served. We walked further into the restaurant and noticed the cash counter and decided to stand there as there were others there as well. We waited about five minutes until we got a table. We were seated at a small table in the corner near the cash counter. The decor of the place was casual and inviting, it was great for a casual lunch. We were given menus and ordered our meals. The server came after about ten minutes to take our order. I ordered the weiner schnitzel and my boyfriend ordered the chicken crepe dish. We waited about twelve minutes for our meals to arrive. When the weiner schnitzel arrived, it arrived on a huge plate. The salad (which I upgraded to a caesar salad) was large however, it didn't have enough dressing; I wasn't too happy about that. The schnitzel was really big which was great however, there wasn't enough mushroom dressing. Also, there weren't too many potatoes as desired. The chicken crepe was pretty good but a little bit watery. Our meal came out to over $30.00 which we thought was a bit pricey considering we just ordered basic lunch meals. There may be a chance that we may return, but possibly at a different time and order different meals.

Awesome. Always good food & dessert and very cheap prices.

LOVE THIS PLACE. While the menu isn't extensive, everything I've ever tried has been wonderful. They have some of the best desserts/pastries in Mississauga. Service is always good and prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend it.

Best homemade ice cream I've tasted in Mississauga. I visit Apricot Tree pretty often and the raspberry ice cream has been my must-order item ever since I tried the first time. I love the combination of sweet and sour flavors. It actually tasted more like sorbet than ice cream. Also, the chocolate and strawberry ice cream are amazing as well. Their flavors are very different from the ones you get in grocery stores, baskin robbins, dairy queen...etc. I can actually taste the homemadeness of them! Oh and the large portion hummas appetizer is also very delicious.

Great family-owned cozy hot spot!. Another one of my go-to places as they have great light-tasting dishes. I usually like ordering from their daily specials. Their desserts are also very tasty, my favourite being the apricot crepe with homemade apricot-ginger ice cream.

Amazing!!. Such a rare find in the city of Mississauga. The food here is delicious and I love their daily specials. The lamb shank is to die for, and so is the schnitzel. They also make one hell of a fish entre. Went on these recommendations and have been going back ever since...it's making me want to go right now!

Waiters are excellent and friendly. Love the rosemary bread. They also make amazing Caesars to drink. YUM!

Comfortable atmosphere, Light and tasty food. Came here for first time tonight. Had the bruschetta and caesar salad as starters. Bruschetta is ok, not bad. The caesar salad is light and refreshing, much better than the typical caesar salad with heavy dressing. I had the seafood pasta - again, tasty, but light, not drenched in the oil cream sauce like too many other restaurants. My friend had the arctic char with couscous - well seasoned. We shared the apple strudel for dessert, which was also well executed with a flaky crust. Next time will try other main courses as well as dessert crepes. Great little restaurant!

Dining Experience At It's Finest. I 1st been to their bistro, so i was very much looking forward to checking this place out. Surprised, the waiter had told me that it has been around for 18 yrs! I was amazed how successfully they've decorated & maintained plus the location is perfect. So warm & cute btw this was on Wed i was feeling adventrous, the flatbread was full of flavour w. a side salad it was not not too filing which is very important 2 me & i couldn't resist desert so the cake was heaven to top it off. Make sure u try the apple cranberry juice, not too sweet either

Consistently Good. We have been visiting the Apricot Tree for nearly 15 yrs now and can say that its quite consistent. The food is simply good and tasty.

The desserts have lost a bit of the quality over the years however they are still good. This is a quaint nice place for lunch or an informal dinner.

If you're looking for delicious non-grocery cake, this is the place to go to.

The dessert was good as well as the coffee but the server had quite a snobbish attitude. The sacher torte was good despite a couple of finger prints on the top part of the cake.

I've been going there for 10 years, and they have yet to disappoint me.

Well Done!. Apricot Tree Cafe is a bit of a rarity in Mississauga: an independently owned and operated neighbourhood cafe serving fresh, high-quality food. As good as the food is, my favourite part of the Apricot Tree is the ambiance and service. The room is warm and the patio looks across the street to the Grange.

The food is typical cafe fare: crepes, salads, pastas, sandwiches, and grilled chops with some Austrian dishes in the mix. The large selection of specials changes each day. My experience is that it`s better for lunch than dinner, particularly the delicious savoury crepes. Chicken tarragon is a must-order.

Where Apricot Tree really shines is in the desserts. The sweet crepes are as good as the savoury ones, and include their homemade ice creams. The Black Forrest crepe is my girlfriend`s favourite. Freshly-made strudels, cakes and pies are also available.

Good food+dessert!. One thing that I must comment on is the consistency of Apricot Tree. It always has good food+dessert which are made on site as opposed to being shipped from elsewhere.

The food is simple, delicious, and fresh consisting of salads, soups, sandwiches, along with mains like fish, meat, pasta.

And of course, after the food, you *must* indulge in dessert, ice cream/sorbet, cakes, strudels, pies, etc. All of these desserts are displayed in a showcase - as soon as you enter the café. GREAT (date) place for a coffee+dessert! The owner is a pastry chef from Austria who used to work at Marché.

Last, but not least, are the prices. They are very decent for what you get!

Definitely one of my go-to places.

Overall, Apricot Tree Cafe is a great place to go if you are looking for something new to try in Mississauga. It can get quite busy around lunch time on the weekends so make sure you plan ahead and make a reservation. There isn't a lot of seating in the restaurant either so when it gets busy, it gets crowded and waiting for a table can be a hassle because there is nowhere to stand and wait. If you aren't super hungry, try ordering a salad or splitting a meal with a friend because some of their dishes can be a bit heavy.

I’m always in a dire need to go back to Apricot Tree Cafe for their delicious desserts. Well, specifically their Creme Caramel – which NEVER disappoints.

I've been to Apricot Tree Café many times now. My parents also go often by themselves for dinner. I love how Apricot Tree Café is small and cozy - its cute decor and space is surrounded by greenery, white street lamps, wood window panes, and green roof shingles.
