Review Piatto Bistro - Mississauga

A fantastic lunch coupled with impeccable service made our day. We ordered an arugula salad with pear and stilton cheese; sauteed veal liver topped with a sherry sauce, accompanied with potatoes and steamed vegetables; a veal cannelloni; and profiteroles with ice cream and a hot chocolate sauce, complete with an espresso. The menu is lean which is often an early sign of a good restaurant. Everything was well-priced. Service was outstanding and we were taken care of from the moment we arrived to when we departed. Thank you to the staff for a great experience, delicious suggestions, perfect wine pairing, and a smile throughout. Italian class all the way!

I LOVE YOU PIATTO! Outstanding service even during a rush on one of the busiest days for restaurants. Simple yet rustic and absolutely fantastic quality food. Seasoned well, hot, served quickly and with care. Oh Madon' 🤌 (You guys hiring? 😃)

Food was simple, but amazing! They pay attention to details that matter, like a little bit of butter on the pasta. Service was great as well.

An exquisite dining experience after 2 years of CoVid hibernation. So good to return to culinary excellence. Such a treat !!

There are multiple reasons for one star. First is that the food plating was too simple. It's a fine done restaurant and I expect some nice plating but they just put the food in the white plate and bring it to you . Secondly near the entrance there was a menu written on the black board and it was kept in such a way that no one will look at it ( kept on the floor) on top of it , the server didn't bother to inform us that there is separate Menu available so we missed trying that. Overall very disappointing experience and I would never go there again. It was my birthday and I was expecting some nice experience here.

The friendliest service I have ever had in my life. No other place even comes close. From the moment we entered to when we left, the staff were incredibly sweet. They really pay attention and take care of each and every table. The interaction was almost like a family environment. The food was delicious, especially the baked goar cheese, and the tiramisu. Would highly recommend.

Hot and fresh but doesn't capture a flavour beyond a basic good meal. The calamari was fried instead of grilled and wasn't done correctly.

Located in a cosy neighbourhood closer to Dundas and Mississauga Road. Hands down the best fine dining Italian restaurant in sauga. Risotto and Lobster Fettuccine were incredible. Service steals the deal.

Went to Piatto for lunch. Good place. I had the calamari and veal Marsala. Both were very good and service was good. I wasn't blown away with the food but to be fair I am not a big Italian food fan.

Why I gave a rating of 3.0 to what could have been a 4.5 or 5. Service could raise 3 star food to a 5. But in this case the food was a 4.5 or possibly a 5 - but brought down to a 3.0 due to low end service. The staff tried their hardest to deliver a 5 star service but they just didn't have that natural delivery, it was muddled, fumbled and showed they were trying too hard but didn't seem to know how to deliver. It got worse toward the end of the meal when a much younger waiter took over. Our deserts were delivered, but had to remind that our lattes had been left sitting at the bar. I had to clear my plates a couple of times myself and the place was not that busy. 4-5 male serving staff stood at the bar chatting in front of customers seemingly unaware. - The Chef does know what he is doing! We ordered 4-5 apps all were perfect, creative and delicious, the Cesar salad was ordinary for a high end Italian restaurant. The main courses Devine, pan seared sea bass I haven't tasted like this since I dined on the Adriatic Sea. Veal medallions were to die for and the medium rare Bison was perfect and not game tasting at all. Disappointed with the cream brûlée, again ordinary. So the food just fell short of perfect at 4.5 and the service a 2.0 for this level of restaurant, my score averages to about 3.0. Cost short of $400 for 4, included a $50 bottle of wine, taxes and tip of $60. 4 mains, 5 apps, 1 desert & a single ice wine, vodka Cesar.

My pasta was a bit overcooked but very flavourful. Service was excellent, the staff know their menu and want to make their patrons happy. Cozy environment. My dessert wasn't very good.

Went this evening for the first time ever, and must say I was impressed. Had their Chicken Frangelica with pink peppercorn sauce and cream (minus the almonds!) and it was simply scrumptious!! My friend ordered their mushroom risotto and seemed to enjoy that as well. Overall, loved the food, their friendly staff and good service. Appropriate for special occasions as it is a bit pricey.

No paella. We went to the restaurant to try the paella, but unfortunately no paella on the menu. Good service.

An evening to remember. I was looking for places to take my boyfirend out to dinner. We were celebrating our third month of being together and wanted to go somewhere special. The calamari fritti is something I would personally recommend, it is cooked to perfection and the Pasta takes the meal to a whole different level.

The service and ambience made the evening unforgettable.

What A Great Place!. We have driven by Piatto many times and decided to finally give it a try. We arrived on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was starting to fill up. We asked if we could still sit down to have a meal despite not having any reservations. The host was kind enough to seat us in a nice room at the side with a great view. The restaurant itself is very elegant, lots of light, decorative pieces, and great table decor! We were served by a server named Michele. He was very nice, friendly, and funny! We instantly felt comfortable with his light humour and friendly smile. We ordered the Calamari Fritti to start. They were probably the best calamari I have ever had! Crunchy yet tasty! The sauce that it came with was great, although I would have loved more since it tasted so good! We then ordered our main meals, which was the gnocchi. The gnocchi were amazing! Especially the one with the white cream sauce, it tasted creamy and fresh. I loved it! The gnocchi were nice and soft, with great texture, just the way gnocchi should be. We then ordered the Baked Goat Cheese Salad. The goat cheese was baked with a hot tomato, along with a salad and raspberry dressing on the side. The goat cheese was amazing, especially since it was hot, it melted in my mouth. Last but not least, the Tiramisu. To be honest, the Tiramisu was OK, it wasn't the best I have ever had, it didn't have as much liquor or espresso as I would have hoped. Overall, the meal was excellent, the service was great (thank you Michele!) and the atmosphere was superb. Will definitely be back to this place!

Don't be intimidated!. As a lifelong resident of Mississauga, I have NEVER been to Piatto...'til yesterday. Always driving past it, I guess I just dismissed it as a place for "stuffy, old, White people". Yes, I suppose I was the only visible minority in there tonight, but it was anything but stuffy! ;)

We were greeted at the door, my chair was pulled out, and welcomed by a friendly waiter. All good signs and quite contrary to what I expected.

There was a board with specials listed, but we decided to forgo and order off the menu. (Waiter was also nice enough to explain some specials.) We shared the baked goat cheese (app), my partner got the gnocchi, I had the paella, and we ended with a chocolate espresso paté.

The goat cheese was delicious with a raspberry sauce. My paella was piping hot, very tasty, and didn't appear to lack in seafood such as shrimps, calamari, sausage, etc. YUMMM.

Overall, I regret that I didn't try Piatto earlier! It was a classy, fine dining experience without the noses in the air.

Fantastic food! Osso bucco with rice with mushrooms was great. Very hands-on manager and great service as well. Will be back soon!!

Delicious gourmet food @ reasonable prices. Lovely atmosphere & outstanding service.

Good but.... Very good food - they have great veal in particular. The wait staff are also very good - many have been there for years. However two issues: 1) they need to change up the menu more often - even the specials are on too long and (2) the decor - it's very outdated - it needs a make over.
However the food is good.

Fantastic Service. Great food, reasonably priced for the quality of food you're receiving, knowledgeable waiters. I will go back again.
