Review Koozina Mediterranean Cuisine - Milton

Best food ever. Such good quantity. We (my company) always had a hard time finding the food which fit our requirements. Koozina was the perfect place where we didn't have go to other place to grab gluten free ,dairy free food or Halal food. Fit for all purpose and we all enjoyed. Thank you koozina and the team for handling our order perfectly and timely.

Had the Gyro dinner which was a huge portion and delicious. Amazing service and food. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Really recommending it and coming back to try other options.

I ordered from here using Skip. I’ve never actually been here so I can’t tell you how customer service is or cleanliness. I’m also going to admit that I’ve only ordered the chicken souvlaki wrap from here. It might be one of the best chicken souvlaki wraps I’ve ever had. It’s simple yet delicious. Pita, chicken, tzatziki, onion. 4 ingredients. Just writing about it has my mouth watering. Only downside is onion breath but if that’s the cost of admission, I love the show. EDIT: Came here again 4/6/22. I actually went into the store to see it. So today I ordered the chicken Greek salad, extra chicken. I'm trying a low-carb thing. Chicken was very flavorful, as I said before - the chef doesn't miss. Salad was very flavorful - will definitely be coming back for the chicken salad. So I can now say that meeting the chef - he was nice, nothing to complain about. The salad with extra chicken was $19.49. Not the cheapest salad but it was worth the money. Inside of the store looked very clean. I also noticed there was a sign that said "No Visa" - so do with that information what you must.

Visited first time and bought two falafel to give it a try. She made fresh after I ordered, tatse superb. Looks like a family owned business. Really liked it. Now I am their loyal customer.

Always saw this place but never bothered to try it. I am so over these nasty Shawarma chains... especially being Middle Eastern, I'm shocked at the choices we have in Milton. Thank God, I gave this place a chance...the spices are authentic and the food is clean and reasonably priced. Love it here!

Koozina has been our restaurant of choice since they opened. In addition we have done dozens of catering orders, each time the order is made perfectly with careful attention to details. Food quality is superb and most important service is above excellent.

I used to recommend this place to everyone who wanted to try shawarma. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has been going downhill over the years. I chalked it up to not seeing the same staff (maybe they are training new employees, growing pains, etc.) but now the quality of their service is also poor. I recently ordered two chicken shawarma on rice and they didn't even put any napkins or cutlery in the bag. I called them to rectify the issue and the lady who took my order said "you didn't ask for cutlery"... So now it's my (the customer's) fault that I don't have cutlery or napkins. Go to any restaurant that offers take out and they'll either ask or just provide utensils, it's standard practice. The food was bland, there was a glob of some kind of sauce (not sure exactly what since it was also flavourless) right in the middle. There was so much water in the food, I'm guessing they didn't drain the rice properly, the green peas were uncooked and hard. I cannot believe how bland and dry the chicken was, we had to throw it out and order food from elsewhere. Are they just reheating frozen food? What's going on? Where is the quality of food and service that I wrote about several years ago? I don't recommend this place and won't be ordering here from now on.

The food here was absolutely delicious!! Large portions and freshly made! They were really busy with a large order when we walked in, so we had to wait a bit, but it was so worth it! Also I have to apologize to the young man working cash cuz I thought we ordered 2 water bottles but only actually paid for 1… so sorry ! but he was awesome, and gave it to me anyways cuz he didn’t want to argue… :( sorry bud! Highly recommend!

The food here is brilliant. That's the only way to describe it. Even better, the staff are the best and the owner treats you like family, and that's something you can't replace. Koozina is *never* a bad bet for lunch or dinner, and they're always up to the task when it comes to catering. I can't recommend this shop enough!

We've been buying food here for about six years and finally had them cater an event for us. Every single person ages 1-83 at our party loved the food! No complaints at all. Even my picky three year old asked for leftovers today. Reasonably priced, excellent food, and the owner is so kind and easy to deal with. He even went out of his way to check in with us after the party was over. We'll definitely be back!

For some great tasting food at a good price I would definitely recommend this place. The Falafel and Chicken Shwarma was amazing.

Take out service was good. Pleasant staff. Food although was mediocre at best. I wont get into detail as I didn't write this to be bashful. :-)

The food here is not bad, but I was disappointed by what they call "shawarma". It really is basically a chicken souvlaki dinner but with a garlic sauce (which is quite good) instead of tzaziki. As a native of Ottawa, I was hoping for some solid shawarma and was told I could find it here. Even though the food was overall quite tasty, the hunt for actual shawarma continues...

FOOD:
We had come here on a Thursday evening at around 6:45 pm. I had settled on the Chicken Shawarma On A Pita ($5.25), along with Greek Fries ($2.60), while my husband had settled on the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner ($11.75). My husband's dish arrived first, with it being quite large, complete with a heaping pile of rice, large pieces of chicken, a large helping of greek salad, and one large potato in the middle of the rice. All of his items were quite good, well-prepared, and tasty however, he mentioned that it was a bit too oily, especially the salad. However, the chicken was moist (which was a bonus as chicken usually comes out dry), and the rice was flavourful. His meal also came with
two slices of pita bread, which were used to eat alongside the main dish. We were a bit confused as to why his meal only included one potato though instead of two or three.

The Chicken Shawarma On A Pita was delicious however, it was just a bit dry in some parts. I liked how it was mostly well-stuffed, coming out hot (temperature-wise), which made it taste even better. The Greek Fries were definitely something different, based on a recommendation I had read on this site. When I had received them, I was quite surprised to see that they were covered in small pieces of feta cheese, with the cheese melting on the fries throughout the meal. I LOVED the fries, one the best I have ever tasted; very crispy, and skinny, which is how I love them. I would love to try their fries without the feta cheese next time around, they definitely hit the spot!

ATMOSPHERE:
The restaurant is situated in the plaza outside of the Milton Mall. It was quite small, with a few booths and chairs. The theme of the restaurant was a bit confusing as there was a photo of a street in England, with pop music playing in the background. Also, there was no décor symbolising that it was a Mediterranean restaurant (although they specialize in Mediterranean cuisine). It was a bit cold (temperature-wise) in the restaurant as well, and there was only one other table with guests while we were there.

SERVICE:
When we had walked-in, we went up to the counter and placed our order with the girl behind the counter. She was quite friendly, asking us questions about our order before placing them. Once we had placed our order, we then sat down, then waited about twelve minutes for our items to arrive. The girl then came over to check on us as we were eating, which we thought was superb service. It seemed as though the girl, along with a young man, were cooking the items, which had a lot of love put into it.

COST:
1 Chicken Souvlaki Dinner ($11.75) + 1 Chicken Shawarma On A Pita ($5.25) + Greek Fries ($2.60) = $22.15 (Taxes Included)

WOULD YOU RETURN?
We did find most of their items very delicious (especially the fries), and would like to return again to try some of their other items. We did notice that take-out was an option therefore, we may decide on that instead as we didn’t find the atmosphere very inviting.

Excellent chicken shawarma sandwiches. Also have tried the Greek fries. Amazing....always ask for extra garlic sauce with fries. Will be back for more....

You'll want to keep coming back! IT'S THAT GOOD! Everything made from scratch! House sauces & dips are amazing!. Koozina's marinated chicken which is slow roasted on a spit just about melts in your mouth! No, really! I think it is the juiciest, most tender chicken in all of Milton...just the perfect amount of Mediterranean seasoning. I've had the chicken shawarma in a pita where the warm, soft, thin wrap serves only to wrangle all the meat, crisp lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, and onions. The whole thing is drizzled with a bright yet savoury tahini sauce, which is a house speciality. You can even add a bit of homemade pepper sauce or tzaziki sauce for that extra kick.

If you want a healthy, top quality meal...this is the place. Everything is made from scratch and you can most definitely taste the difference!
