Review La Toscana - Milton

This is just great food and great service at it’s finest. I’m going to say it’s my absolute favourite restaurant! I can’t even find the words to truly describe what a hidden gem this place is. Let’s just say… “It’s a little taste of Heaven “….and Pasquale! Just Wow! He is exceptional. Oh! Please ask him to make you his Amaretto Sours! Off the chain! Hands down Best Amaretto Sours on the planet! Thank You La Toscano for always making me smile. 😊

Food was fantastic! Service was excellent. The lady serving us would go out of her way to make us feel welcomed & comfortable. Overall, friendly atmosphere and professional staff. Highly recommend.

We ordered the Linguine Pescatore, the 10 oz NY Sirloin in peppercorn sauce, Spaghetti Bolognese & Rack of Lamb in Thyme Demi Glaze crusted in dijon mustard bread with red wine rosemary. Both the steak and lamb were tender and cooked perfectly. The lamb was so tender that it was falling off the bone. The peppercorn sauce on the NY sirloin complemented the tenderness of the meat. Highly recommended and worth the trip to Milton if you are within the GTA.

Great atmosphere warm, cozy and intimate. They have a nice variety of specials and wine. Tasty oysters with chili infused vodka and the main dishes were cooked well. Portions could be a bit larger but I feel that way with most restaurants. Professional and helpful staff. I've been twice and will be returning.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about La Toscana. My partner and I just moved to Milton, ON and we have to say, La Toscana has become our second home. The atmosphere sweet and intimate, and everyone is so kind there, that it really feels like home. The food, I have to say, is cooked with such love and attention to detail. We've tried every appetizer on the menu and continue to find such excitement on our weekly dates here. Throughout our experiences there, we've narrowed down our favourite appetizers to their Mussels (with cream sauce), fresh oysters, beef carpaccio and their bruschetta. My partner also loved the Capresa salad but could've done with just a little less sweetness. Also, I should mention that, though their escargot appetizer is really special-- it is certainly an acquired dish for cheese and mushroom lovers. :) This place is so good, we've had it as takeout because it was raining. Trust me, La Toscana is a MUST visit. Say hi to the welcoming owner Pasquale and say Nina sent you! Love, IG: @APiggysLife

We decided to dine there for Valentines given all the great reviews and let me tell you it was an experience. Service - Great overall but our water and wine glass were both chipped as I had to send back both times. Atmosphere - Not the greatest as it was so dark we could hardly even read the menu. The worst part was how cold the restaurant was as 50% of the guests were either still wearing their scarves/jackets. When I decided to say something I was told there are two heaters as that should keep everybody warm. Food - Amazing as it tasted delicious. Unfortunately I ate so fast because I wanted to keep warm and leave as fast as we got there. For my first and overall experience dining there was not my favorite and if I can advise dine there in the summer not winter as you will freeze.

High quality seafood and a great selection of wines. Sitting at the bar will land you some friendly chat too . The semifreddo was very good and there were some parking spots at the back of the restaurant

Wonderful atmosphere. Fantastic service and truly delicious food. We had multiple kinds of oysters as well as the Halibut special and salmon from the menu. Dessert was lovely! We highly recommend this restaurant, especially for your special occasion.

Food and wine were delicious. Service was good and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Portions are on the small side and perhaps a tad over priced but overall good quality.

Food was ok. Overpriced for small portions. Service was average. Waitress hadn't tasted any of the food on the menu I asked about and made no attempt to find out about the items I was interested in. Had to ask to have my water glass filled THREE times. Won't be back. Risposta in Campbellville is much better food, service and quality.

Pasquale and his family make you feel at home as they serve you delicious comfort food from their kitchen. The combination of the ambiance with dishes that you can taste were made with love create a very memorable dining occasion. I recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!!

NOT in the least bit enjoyable. Went to this restaurant for the first time on a recommendation. BAD IDEA.

Atmosphere left lots to be desired, and it looks like the place has not been updated in a few decades.

Food was under par taste wise, cold, and took AGES (literally 2 hours from our arrival). Service was very very slow and we waited for a long time for just about everything...even water.

If you are planning to go for dinner, I suggest heading to Marquee for a great meal and excellent service.

La Toscana is by far, the finest restaurant in Milton and better than most in Toronto! My fiancée and I have been numerous times and the service is always OUTSTANDING and so is the food quality! Another reviewer mentioned Osso Bocco which is also in town and it doesn't even compare! If you want authentic Italian in an great environment, this is the place to go! All of their pasta dishes are superb and the lamb is top notch! Well are having our wedding g reception there next summer! I hope you try them out, the owners are there every night to ensure your experience is a good one! Enjoy
Russ and Alicia

Just okay. We have lived in Milton for 4 years now and are regulars of Osso Bucco. We love it there, but decided to try something new. From all of the reviews I was expecting La Toscana to blow my mind! Unfortunately, it did not.
To start, we ordered our appetizers and then waited for over an hour for them to be brought out. I ordered the grilled calamari and my husband the escargot. We were both not very pleased with them. The taste was okay, just not great.
For dinner, I had the Capelli with shrimp and scallops. It was prety good, although the sauce was quite watery and I would have enjoyed it more with parmesan cheese, but the waiter didn't come back around util after our meal was over. My husband had the surf and turf, which is a filet and shrimp. He enjoyed the texture and quality of the steak, but didn't like the "herb butter" that it came with. It wasn't exactly herb butter, but more of a gremolata. Not really up his alley.
All in all, the meal was okay. We were there for at least 3.5 - 4 hours on the patio. If the service had been a little quicker, it would have been a better experience. At least we got to try something new, but next time, I would stick to Osso Bucco.

Outstanding, food and service. We moved into Milton 2 yrs ago and like to dine out when we can, after trying many of the restaurants in Town and not being very impressed with any of them, a friend recommended this place, we finally made it to La Toscana. I truly must say that this place, buy far, has the best food and service in Milton.

Great!. A solid Italian restaurant downtown Milton. We have been on several occasions and never have we been disappointed. The ambiance is rustic Italy, clean and there are always fresh orchids. The oysters are fabulous and served with fresh grated horseradish (which other places neglect to provide). Salmon, fillet, pastas & specials are amazing. A really nice place with great staff, very friendly and attentive! We will return!

Great Food. I have relatives in Milton so I make my way there 3-4x a year and have had the opportunity to try La Toscana's on many ocassions and never has the service or food disappointed me (just the parking situation). The pasta selections are great as is the catch of the day (best swordfish I ever had was at La Toscana).

It's a small and cozy restaurant, but with a slight fancy appeal. The food was pretty good too, with weekly dinner specials. They appeared understaffed the night I went, so service was a bit slow, but that didn't ruin our night. Nice place to try.
