Review Wong's Palace Restaurant - Marystown

Ordered 3 chicken chow mein for the kids because they wanted noodles, They brought out some kind of cabbage dish with no noodles and a few tiny bits of chicken in it, no veggies. All they said was sorry they make it different here and I should have ordered something else. Wont ever be back.

If you are looking for great food, cleanliness, and exceptional Newfoundland service, this is the place to go. We were welcomed by Lisa who, in turn, was our server. The food was fresh and delicious and Lisa's outstanding Newfoundland hospitality was the icing on the cake. In our case, the Chocolate Eruption. :) We highly recommend.

Decided to try Wong's Palace on the reviews by others. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The food was cold. I guess if you like cold Chineese food it would be ok. I ordered a side of cherry sauce, it was so thick it had to be removed from the bowl with a knife and spread like butter. Couldn't get a glass of tap water, had to purchase an over priced bottle of water, one that sells for under $2.00 for 24 bottles at the grocery store.

I've ate at 28 Chinese restaurants in Newfoundland - Tai Hong (PAB), Angela's Shoreline (Burgeo), Hong Kong + Sun Luck (Stephenville), New Garden + Jiwen Garden + Tai An + The Dragon + New China + Lucky Star + Humberview Restaurant (Corner Brook), Ken & Wu's (Port au Choix), Far East (St. Anthony), Canton (Deer Lake), Samy's (Baie Verte), Bo Jo's (Springdale), Badger Diner (Badger), Tai Sun + Tai Wan (Grand Falls-Windsor), Oriental + Li's (Lewisporte), Golden (Twillingate), Kwang Tung (Fogo), Harbour View (Catalina), Lucky House (Salt Pond, Burin), Fong's (Carbonear), Hong Kong + Magic Wok (St. John's) - and Wong's Palace is the best of the ones I've had!

They were busy, but still a very reasonable wait time. Really tasty!

Not bad! They had no music on when we got there (which was odd - try eating in a silent room with the sounds of other people chewing...yikes!) and it was freezing cold in the dining room (the A/C unit was showing 19 degrees!). Food was good, but could've been a *little* more ample for the $14.50 price tag.
