Review The Bombay Grill - Markham

Christian Bseliss
By far, best Indian kitchen in Markham. A lot of food varieties, super fresh. Butter chicken was so creamy and full of flavor.. chicken was cooked to perfection. Naan was smelling so good and crispy! The Staff are very humble, nice, accommodating and helpful. My go-to indian restaurant in Markham!

One of the best Indian cuisine restaurants we've been to in the GTA. Staff are very welcoming and always smiling, quick service food was served hot in a short time. Their chicken biryani has a strange nice taste (chicken marinated with red sauce). Butter chicken is the BEST in town. Must try.

😕😕😕Supported this local dive even after multiple screw ups with orders. On the 3rd mess up, we called and the gentleman taking the order was rude condescending and hung up after we explained our concern and his response was ‘you are the only one who ever complained’ ...then sos ‘oh youanbbrinng all the food back tonight. umm really? I saod I’d bring it in the morning as we had guests and small kids to feed at 8:30pm! Is he nuts? No one companies? Check out the reviews buddy! Why we still supported this s*it hole is beyond me. Ruin it for the rest of the industry. 🤦🏽‍♀️ He wanted a picture of the chiliies in the chicken kebab when we asked doe NO CHILLIES and mild food for our guests... here it is. The species aren’t cooked properly as seen here and the we’ve shared the chillies as requested in only one bite of the kebab. I could go on but what’s the point. mishandled, unprofessional, gross experience overall. Lesson learned.

We ordered 3 items for pick up from this restaurant 30 minutes ago. When my husband came home with the food, one of the containers wasn't closed properly so opened in a bag and spoiled other things as well.

I ordered butter chicken for take out and was not aware of their portions! I placed the butter chicken next to a can of pop to show you the size you would receive for 13.99 plus tax. I have paid a little less and received way better and more curry from other places. I would not recommend this place at all.

Review is done based on Dal Makhani, Naan and Garlic Naan. Dal makhani was below average. Naan, I would have preferred if it was cut in pieces. Based in Dal Makhani, I would not recommend this place. If anybody knows a bette place to have Dal Makhani in GTA please let me know.

Loved the Aloo parata, chicken Tikka not so much. Samosa don't disappoint me at all, always. They are delicious.

Really excellent food. got takeaway from here last week for the first time and will definitely order from here again in the future. I notice that the most common negative review points here are about mistakes with orders or about food being too spicey or oily. I can only speak to my limited experience, but we had a large order and everything was exact. Our food was not too oily compared to other indian restaurants we've been to in Markham, and the only dishes that were very spicey were the ones we asked to be that way.

The place is nice and has good music . The staff is very polite . We ordered veg momos , Somosa and baigan ka bharta . They all were pretty good in taste . It’s a must try place .

I came to know garlic bread is their speciality, do try it
I ordered off the menu. I had the butter chicken and beef biryani. They tasted great, fresh and I was very happy with the portion size. Will definitely go back.

This is the best place to go for lunch. It is so cheap! The butter chicken, curry, and everything is to die for. On top of the amazing food the service is above average. The chef sometimes will even personally bring you fresh warm naan bread. Always a great place to go!

I didn't know about this place. We were suppose to go somewhere else for dinner but since that was closed we thought of trying this place. The place wasn't pleasing from outside because it was dark and not that great.

We ordered for starters Chicken Tikka and Sheesh Kabab Lamb, my favourite was the Lamb Kabab, it had nice flavour and taste to it, if I come to this place again then it would be for the lamb kabab. We also had Alu Paratha and I have to say they were good but way tooooo spicy for me, well that didn't stop me from not having those paratha, later I had 2 glasses of milk.

For Main dish we had Rangjosh chicken, Butter chicken and Chicken Biryani. The quantity was decent enough for four people. Biryani wasn't that great, adding the rangjosh made me enjoy the biryani.

Overall it wasn't a bad place.

Decor: 2.0
Food: 3.5
Service: 4.5

The Bombay Grill - Markham. Madras chicken curry and naan is my favourite though I have only tried two others and they were the butter chicken and madras lamb curry which were also really good. Sauces are thick and tasty not thin and runny like other places. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to curry lovers.

Amazing vegeterian dishes. I am huge fan of their food, most of the time we have two veg dishes from the following:
palak (spinach) paneer, vegetable jalfrezi, okra, mutter (peas) paneer, and some daal (lentils).
I recommend these food items for anyone looking for a healthy nutritious meal.
Prices are very good IMO, veg is 10.99 at most and comes with bread (naan); plus we usually order two dishes for two people but always have enough left over for another meal for both of us. This will work for you if you are not a big big eater.

After all, the meal was quite satisfying and surprisingly it was better than expected. We actually want to try Tandoori dishes from the charcoal clay oven since

My mom discovered this place on the Internet, and decided to take us as she loves curry and wanted to try a new place. Located in a nondescript plaza, the Bombay Grill has quickly become one of my family’s favourite places to eat, and we often bring people here when they come to visit.

The Bombay Grill

Location: 5694 Highway 7, Unit 1A
Sherwood Plaza
Markham, ON
L3P 1B4
Hours: Closed Mondays
Phone: (905)-554-6666
Price: $$
Atmosphere: Dark and spacious
Service: Generally friendly and attentive

They also have other locations in Milton, Ajax, Hamilton, and Burlington, but I have only gone to the Markham one. While they offer lunch buffet, but I would highly recommend ordering off the menu, as the dishes are freshly prepared and are more flavourful in comparison to the buffet option.

My appetizer of choice is the vegetable pakora; deep fried to perfection, they come piping hot and the tamarind sauce that accompanies it is sweet and ties it all together.

I have actually tried all the paneer dishes (mutter, palak, karahi, and makhani) and liked them all, but the one we order the most often has to be the paneer makhani. The sauce tastes very similar to the butter chicken sauce, but lighter and a touch sweeter.

Paneer makhani, mutter paneer, chicken korma and butter chicken on naan

Paneer makhani, mutter paneer, chicken korma and butter chicken on naan

We often order the vegetable biryani; while chock-full of flavours, this is a truly spicy dish, and I definitely need the accompanying yogurt to finish.

I’m usually entirely too full for dessert, but if you’re in the mood, the pistachio kulfi is a nice, light cap to the end of the meal. The one I had was a tad icy, and not as smooth as the typical ice cream or gelato.

They also offer a number of drinks; the mango beer is a must try! Definitely one of my favourite beers. The mango lassi is also good if you want something without alcohol.

To recap: our favourite entrees include the paneer makhani, aloo gobi, and of course, the butter chicken (my dad must have this every time). It is hard to go wrong with any of the dishes here; there hasn’t been one dish I haven’t enjoyed, but the above mentioned are definitely the ones we order time and time again. While I often see people coming here for take-out, I would suggest sitting down to enjoy the meal, as everything is freshly prepared and tastes best eaten right when it arrives.
