Review Asian Legend - Markham

All day bento is a good strategy however need to improve food quality.

Great place for dumplings and authentic Chinese food. The service is pretty good and the restaurant is really clean. Busy during lunch time on weekdays.

Food was tasty. Some very flavorful, some not so much. Soup was delicious.

The Asian legend reopened for the new Taiwanese Bento with specially price $6.99(it means it will be more expensive in future). I was here for that, but I am really disappointed. You can pick any three sides, but they only got three different sides. The worse thing is that they run out sides because they didn’t fully prepared for this reopening. You have no options for sides, the pork chop thickness is thin like a skin. As for Taiwanese Bento, Tai Ping Hsiang is way better than here. Go to Tai Ping Hsiang, forget about here. Advices: prepare more sides options and change your bento containers to three sides, not two sides only. Eggplant is not a main dish, it’s a side dish. Here is my bento with extra egg($1). They run out sides, so I got one side with this volume only. It is $6.99 with time limited special price.

Location seems too busy on a weekend. Came for a quick lunch and only ordered 3 dim sum items that shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes to make and had to wait 45 minutes for 2 items. We ended up cancelling the third item since it was taking too long but was still charged for it when the bill came. Told them about the issue and had to wait another 10 minutes for the updated bill. Ended up sitting there for over an hour just to leave still hungry when we should be in and out in half an hour. Food is good though.

Food and service were both great. Prices are fair but not the cheapest. Was going to give 5 stars but one dish took forever to come and we had to ask the waitress to speed it up. Overall I really enjoyed the meal here with my family.

The Legend Continues !!! I have been a patron of Asian Legend for many years now. I have eaten at every one of their locations over the years even the one that closed near Yonge and Empress in North York. One of the main reasons I keep coming back is consistency and great food. I have never in over 10 years had any issues with the food or with the service. On this night I assembled the food crew for some good 'ole Northern Chinese Cuisine the Metro Square location in Markham. it was a Saturday night and the place was starting to fill up when we arrived. the kids thought the place was a restaurant for 'Rich People' as every AsainnLegend location is elaborately decorated. we were seated by our most gracious server and the manager too as they went out of their way to make sure we were all satisfied and happy. We started off our feast with some of our all times favourites, Wonton Soup, Soup-Filled Dumplings, Shanghai Noodles with Pork and Shrimp, Pork Chops with honey garlic, sauce and an interesting vegetarian dish. This vegetarian dish was stir-fried mixed veggies inside and egg mixture. I don't recall the name but it was very good. We had a great meal and a great time. The food was great the service was great and we will be back again sometime in the future.

Service is quick, friendly. The bamboo roots weren't good as it should be. The soup was tasty, i like the sourer taste mixed.
