Review La Piazza - Manotick

Hazel Harding
We had our wedding dinner at La Piazza and were very happy with our experience. We had 25 guests and the chef did an amazing job of cooking every meal to the high standard that we have received in the past. The service was great and the private room was the perfect setting. Thank you to the La Piazza team!

An all round fantastic experience. Firstly, I really like the layout of the restaurant. It's warm and cosy and tastefully decorated. It's clean and obviously well maintained. The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times. Frank, the proprietor, is extremely accommodating and friendly. He seems to really enjoy engaging with his clientele and will go out if his way to ensure ylthat you're well taken care of. Mo (sp?) the chef is talented and takes pride in the food he creates. He is also very friendly and a great guy to chat with if you get the chance. He's a busy guy! The food was delicious. I had the rack if lamb and it was a real treat. The sides were delicious and also meticulously roared. I can happily recommend La Piazza and I'll definitely be going back. Thanks for a great evening everyone at La Piazza!

The was owner entertaining a few people at a table with apparently no clue as to what was going on in his restaurant. 3 tables occupied with long waits. Firstly advised that there was no pizza, no veal dishes and one beef dish was unavailable. We ordered a glass of wine and a Coors Light. The server indicated she did not know if they had any Coors Light so went to check. On return we were listed which beers were available. None of the menu listed domestic beers were available, just the imports. (No beer store in Manotick?) We each ordered the manicotti for dinner and the "Famous Fried Calamari" as an appetizer. The server returned after considerable time with a few pieces of Calamari on a plate and said that's all they had and therefor would be on the house, as well as with a plate of manicotti. I explained that we were there for dinner and that we had both ordered the manicotti. (Why did the server not ask if we wanted an alternate appetizer when she was told by the kitchen that there was no calamari?) So we wound up waiting for another manicotti to be prepared. No buns were offered or served. No offer of coffee, tea or dessert after eating. Just the bill brought. A surrealistic, bizarre dining experience. Restaurant web site not working today as I would have liked to email the owner before placing a public negative review.

Beautiful warm ambient place and not to mention the food is out of this world. I had the fillet mignon and it was one of the best steaks I had ever eaten. Our server was very pleasant and personable, as well as the rest of the staff. I will definitely be coming back here soon. I can barely wait for patio season! I recommend this place to everyone.

We came to this place on Canada Day, for the sole purpose that it would be much less crowded than a bar in downtown Ottawa. There were not many people there at all. It took nearly 15 minutes for a server to even give us a menu. It took almost another 20 minutes to get a pitcher of sangria. Our server was quite friendly and the sangria was tasty as well. The service was quite slow, considering how empty the place was. It was okay at best, it did not really impress me.

we have been dining occasionally at La Piazza in Manotick over the years and found it to be consistently inconsistent with its food quality. Several years ago they had very good cuisine. The owner was very proud and visited all the tables to ensure satisfaction. More recently, the food quality has ranged from mediocre to poor and the attention of the owner has diminished. Last evening was the straw that broke the camel's back. Due to covid 19 we opted for tge patio which is very nicely appointed. There were only two other tables occupied,( one of which was the owner) this was probably a warning sign. Service was poor, beer bottle brought to the table was warm and no glass was offered. We ordered calamari, mussels and risotto balls. The calamari dish was very small and was rubbery in texture. ( over cooked) the mussels consisted of 14 small mussels ($1.00 each) sitting in extremely salty water. There was much discussion at the table regarding this dish and after all 4 of us tried it, they were finished. When the server returned to remove the plates. We explained our thoughts. She went directly to the owner and chatted with him a bit. It took 25 more minutes for our main courses to arrive. This was apparently because " the thin crust pizza is made from scratch". My wife was presented with a dried over cooked brick of "lasagna" no garnish or sauce. I received an over cooked and dried chicken Parmesan with Fettucini. The fettuccine was properly cooked however had no taste. I asked for salt, which I had to get up and remind her of. Our guests had pizza that they found cold and dry. When the server brought the main courses she told us the manager said if we had not eaten the mussels he could have done something for us.. this was insulting as we were not looking for free food at all, we simply wanted to know that they cared. We will not return

We ordered a complete meal ( 3 different kinds of Risotto and 3 mains) for pickup. All dishes were EXCELLENT; risotto and seafood were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Very grateful to the restaurant owner for opening up in these difficult Covid times, and for the staff to serving us with a smile! Stay safe!

Good food, excellent atmosphere. This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The atmosphere is superb - especially the outdoor patio in summer. Even indoors, the decor is well appointed. The food ranges from good to excellent. I have never had a bad meal, but I would not consider it to be consistently great. I am guessing different chefs are on at different times. The service is friendly and competent. When Frankie is around, he offers his personal welcome and makes sure everything goes well.

Went here for lunch today. Don’t listen to the bad reviews. The food was quite good especially the pizza. The price point is good for what you get and the service was very good. This place is definitely worth the visit for the courtyard atmosphere.

If you want a better meal stay home & warm up a can of something!!!! Save your mmoney & go down the road for a really wonderful meal and service wiithout greasy owners leering @ you!! Best time ever. Went for dinner with my girlfriend and parents great food and atmosphere keep it up

Losing it's appeal?. Quite disappointed with last visit. The food was good, but we were seated in the back room, which echoes badly, with an extremely noisy family and couldn't hold our own conversation. Our server, albeit pleasant enough, was a smoker ... The stench of smoke from him was almost unbearable as he served our meal. The owner was on site with a drink in hand, and didn't bother once to check in. I expected more from him considering the money we spent. Hate to see this place go under. More attention to these details are not difficult.

Nice Experience at your Restaurant. My husband and I finally tried your restaurant yesterday for the first time after hearing the ads on the Jewel radio station for quite awhile. We live in Ottawa and made the nice drive to Manotick. We were impressed by everything. The restaurant and courtyard are really our style and the food was absolutely amazing. We went with the Italian food yesterday, but we will be making several more trips to the restaurant to try other items on your menu. Our server, Barry was very good. Keep up the great work at La Piazza!

Best regards,

Lynn and Dan Marchand

Great food and service. We arrived for the first time with a group of friends. We all ordered several appetizers and main courses and found the food excellent. Authentic Italian food with a great atmosphere and service. We can't wait to go back.

Awful, Terrible, Disgusting. If you like overpriced food from a jar, can or bag then this is the place for you. There is nothing fresh or authentic about this place. Even the menu had hair underneath the the ripped plastic cover. Shameful that they buy their food from a distributor, heat it up and charge insane prices.
Never will I go there again. The owner asked me why I didn't like my veal tortellini then turned his back on me when I told him.

Never again. Absolutely terrible food. We will never go back.

Overpriced wine - owner needs to tone it down. My wife and I have eaten here twice and both times the food was ok but for authentic Italian not great. Evertime we were there we had to listen to the overbearing owner go on and on about places he owns in italy ...etc etc... Very annoying. This guy is full of himself. Anyway we went in for a few appetizers and a glass of wine and the bill was close to $100.00. We had a little food and one glass of overpriced wine each. Not going back ever again.

Would go again.. We visited for the first time. Sorry, didn't get the gentlemans name that served us, but he knew what he was doing. We were happy with our meals and stayed for dessert and tea and were not hurried in any way. We will definately visit again if we are travelling in the area.

I'm shocked by people saying they don't like this place! Absolutely amazing food and price point is bang on for what you are getting... Great food great drinks and out of this world service! Erin was our server tonight and was joking, friendly, outgoing and very attentive. The live music (the Fake Mccoys) made the beautiful atmosphere even better. We will be coming back, and I will be bringing friends and family for sure! Please give this place a try, come in and enjoy the people, food, drinks, and atmosphere!

What the H** did I just eat.... Went to La Piazza with my wife and kid....food was horrible. Frozen veggies, canned sauce, store bough pasta, cheap sausages, etc.....a shame. An Italian owner serving this type of 'Italian' food should be kicked out of the Italian culture.

As an Italian myself - who appreciates good food....do not eat this third rate take on Italian staples

Big Disapointment. This was our second time here. The first time was pleasant other than the owner dropping every name he could think of as far as personalities, cars he owned and the money he had. This time was just plain terrible. The waitress quizzing me as to why I did not want an alcoholic drink. Our entree arriving with our meal, both late and extremely cold. The pasta was overpriced, only about 2 tablespoon of sauce and completely tassteless. Dumped our entry on the pasta to give it some flavor. Way overpriced cheap house wine, and when we had to ask for our check the waitress told us she was busy serving food and would get around to it. Not work giving it a third try.

Terrible--- over-priced and disappointing!. We went with a group of 12 ladies last week. There was nothing good about the evening other than the company. The service was the worst I can remember in a restaurant. The restaurant was not busy! We all ordered a drink off the menu and over half of us were told they were not available, all different orders, including wine by glass ( multiple tries to find one available), margarita, mojitos.
The server disappeared for over an hour after that, thank goodness we did not want a second! We had to search for her to take our dinner orders and when the food came it was marginal at best and some really not good. Over-priced and disappointing is the best 2 words to describe. Too bad, as they have a nice little patio spot but we will not be coming back.

I've been here 4 or 5 times the food is nothing special to not very good and extremely overpriced at least priced double what the food is worth. The service wasn't very good and this time the waiter smelled like BO. I'll never go back.

We visited this restaurant on a busy Friday night. They have a large but cozy courtyard/patio that was really inviting but unfortunately it was raining. We sat inside which was quite crowded and loud. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere did not resemble the hustle and bustle of a busy diner but rather had a more festive feel to it. It reminded me of some of the beach side restaurants I have been at while on vacation. Very relaxed. The food was good. I had the Penne with sausage (I forget the fancy name) and my husband had fettuccine with seafood (clams or oysters I think). We both really enjoyed our meals. The wine and desserts were great although overall it is a little pricey. I would definitely go back, but due to the price, it wouldn't be a place we go to regularly. $110 for two pasta entrees, two glasses of wine and one dessert each.

Not Good. After reading the mixed reviews on here my boyfriend and I decided check it out for ourselves - We had a terrible experience.
The food was average at best yet quite overpriced. It was very loud and the tables were so close to one another that the servers couldn't even get to their tables. I was constantly being hit on by who I assume was the owner. The wait staff constantly look flustered and confused.
It was just very chaotic and disorganized.

Not happy. Wondered why this restaurant is never busy. Guess I found out. Terribly overpriced and the food is sure nothing special. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken off the lunch menu. The chicken just tasted burnt and I honestly couldn't eat the salad. Very limp and old lettuce and just swimming in over vinegary dressing. Echh! Cheapest glass of wine is 11.00. Lunch for 2 was 80.00. Not even worth half that.

Sub-par quality and $$$$. We ate at La Piazza a year ago, and was disappointed with the meal at that time. We politely suggested a few things to the waiter - and just last week thought we would try again to see if we were any happier. Not in the least. My (small) glass of red wine arrived dripping in cold dishwasher water - I dried the glass off myself with my serviette. The veal parm arrived covered in melted cheese, barely cooked. It would have taken a few seconds under the broil to give it a little toasty, fully cooked appearance (and texture). The veal meat itself...well, I'm not sure if it was really a fresh piece of veal, thinly pounded...the texture just seemed a bit off. The vegetables on the side were simply wilted oily green beans and carrot, with one slice of a piece of roasted potato. It really was disappointing - my husband's dish looked better - although it was advertised as giant prawn linguini but the prawns were nowhere near being giant - they were small - but properly cooked and the sauce apparently was good. The plates were warm, the service was good and the warm buns served in advance were fine. The potential is there, these are small concerns, but being disappointed the second time is a bummer, and our bill at the end was far too high for what we got. There are other places to go.

Good Date spot. Have been here four times now. The first time was a magical fall evening last year in late Septmeber where it was still very warm. We enjoyed a late night glass of wine and antipasto platter on the patio. The band, which played mostly covers of a latin flavor, was energetic and talented. This winter went again and sat indoors in the private area and it was a lovely meal. That time my partner enjoyed the parmigiana and I had the stuffed chicken masala, both very good. The wine recommendations suited as well. Have been back twice this season on the patio again late in the evening and have enjoyed the band (more classic rock-Santana style) and our meals again. Service overall discrete but attentive, only lacking a little on one occasion where we were in the same section as a table of 12, so understandable. We will go again once we save up : )
Ottawa Diner
Not as described and $$$$$. The Black Dog was full so we took a chance. The menu describes some very nice dishes, unfortunately what arrives on the plate does not match the description on the menu. The antipasto for example which referenced a selection of artisan cheeses arrives with 3 slices of provolone and no other cheese. The shrimp dish describes jumbo shrimp, and at $38 I was expecting a nice serving, arrives with a few shrimp pieces. We spoke to the manager about our dissapointment and she reduced the bill by 20%, which was a gesture but missed the point. You can't describe a menu item one way and present it another. It just is not acceptable. The waitress however was very nice and we happily left her a generous tip as the kitchen problems are not her fault. One bright spot is the hot sauce store in the adjacent building. He was opened late on Friday, had a great selection, and was very friendly and knowledgable.

Romantic Night Out. My wife and I had went all out and used their limosine pick-up service and had a wonderful time here. We sat in their courtyard which had a European feel to it. Under the trees and along a nice walkway in the heartof Manotick.
My wife had the linguini which tasted like my friends' Italian mother used to make from scratch and I had the veal which meltrd in yur mouth, it was so tender. The staff was also very courtious and knowledgable. We had a wonderful evenibg. I highly reccommend going here.

Amazing Italian. I'm always surprised at how the exterior of this AMAZING restaurant stays so unassuming looking. The food here is hands down some of the best Italian in the city, in a quaint, quiet environment. I initially went last Fall and again recently for Valentine's Day and both experiences were phenomenal. The wait staff is professional, classy, fun, friendly, and helpful, and the food is truly exceptional. The wine list is extensive, and the servers are always great with recommendations.

Great place for a group. Very noicy but fun.

Good, but not great. My husband and I were dining at the restaurant next door to La Piazza (Burgers on Main) and decided to try Italian for dinner one night. We made a reservation late on a Saturday night (8:30 pm - late for dinner, I suppose). It wasn't too busy but there was a loud group of women near us. It's not the restaurant's fault they were so loud, but it definitely killed the mood a bit.

We had bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar right away. I was disappointed they only brought out one roll each, but they refilled the basket quickly. I had a salad and my husband had soup. I was a little disappointed that the "Italian" dressing was just oil and vinegar -- call it what it is! I was expecting a fantastic concoction since it was the highlight of the salad menu. My husband ordered the veal tortellini which he really liked. I had ordered the penne arrabiata. Here's where it gets a bit hairy... the arrbiata is paired with another penne dish on the menu. In the description, it mentions what's in them (peppers, etc) and includes Italian sausage in the list. At the end of the description it says "rose or arrabiatta sauce". Pretty much anyone who would read that description would assume that the only difference between the two dishes was the sauce. Apparently the penne arrabiatta doesn't come with sausage, despite the fact that it's in the description. I inquired and they added sausage to it (which was really appreciated), but I was disappointed that their menu was misleading.

Tiramisu was alright for dessert. It was good, but I guess I had higher expectations from a "family run" Italian place. I liked it, but it was way pricier than it should've been. I think if I'm craving Italian, I'll stick to Porto a Casa in Barrhaven if I don't feel like leaving the area.

Great Italian food. This is clearly the place to be in Manotick on a Saturday evening. A group of friends and I decided to try it out for a change, all of us were very impressed with the entire evening. The food was fantastic, service was great and we had a couple of exceptional bottles of wine that I'd never come across beforehand. Our girlfriends were equally impressed with their meals, mine had the grilled salmon with a pasta side instead of the vegetables, she raved about it all night. The deserts are equally delicious, good selection and reasonable prices.

Wont return. Terrible. can only handle so much....the owner hitting on my date the whole time...this place cant last! sorry thought someone in a 3 piece suit would have more respect

This place really doesn't know what it wants to be. If it wants to be the "Italian Fine Dining" establishment it promotes itself to be, it has some serious renovations to do, some re-training of its waitstaff to complete and some work to do in the kitchen. We had pleasant but bar-like service dining in a dated 1980s vinyl-lined booth with cheap art randomly placed on every square inch of the wall, trim pulling away from a drafty window and good but definitely not fine food. If it wants to be a local spot for decent pizza and pasta, it had only to change its advertising and prices. However, as it stands now, it is a confused, overpriced restaurant promoting itself as much more than it is.

I have visited twice and won't be back. Food is overpriced and average, at best. Service was terrible

Great Neighborhood Place.. Went to this place Friday night while visiting with relatives in the area. Asked waiter for recommendations and his #1 was lasagna. He said "couldn't go wrong". He was right!! Was delicious. Service was OUTSTANDING. The menu is great, all the dishes looked delicious, sampled some of my relatives choices and they were fantastic.

Has a bit of a neighborhood feel to it. Just loved it!!

Delicious!. As usual, everything was terrific! We didn't have an appetizer tonight. The main courses were wonderful. Two of us had the Chicken Parm, one with veggies, the other with pasta. Sooooo good and so fresh. One of us had mussels (very fresh) and the other a traditional canneloni. Great wine selection! Always very satisfied at Frank's place!

Great meal. We went to this quaint little restaurant in Manotick for dinner last week for my mothers 90th birthday. I have to say that the service was phonemonal, the food was delicious and everyone had a rip roaring good time. I chose the chikden with mushroom sauce, everything was wonderful. Delicious mushrooms and delicately seasoned sauce, perfect. All the guests really enjoyed their food and can't wait to go back.

Everything was perfect. I couldnt have asked for a more perfect anniversary dinner than the meal i had at la Piazza. My hubby planned everything perfectly, from the ride in the limousine to the exceptional service that we received once we arrived at the restaurant. Our pasta was perfectly cooked, the steak was delicious and the lobster tails simply divine. We enjoyed a delicious bottle of red, recommended by our waitress, it was a perfect pairing.

Very Good and Not so Good. Our group of six diners selected mainly from the daily specials for our September evening meal. The quail was excellent - tasty sauce, superb vegetables, and nicely presented. Two diners had the fusilli "special" in tomato sauce. It was very disappointing and was comparable to an entry level Chef Boyardee dish. Such a bland offering for an Italian Restaurant is unforgiveable. The strip loin steak was cooked as requested but it was too tough to be served in a mid-tier restaurant. Good draft beer and wine selections were supported by attentive service. I would suggest dining at La Piazza only if you want to take a chance on a possible good meal or wish to enjoy the outdoor ambiance during the milder months.

Love this place. I have no idea what the last reviewer is talking about... I couldn't replicate any of the dishes at this fantastic place and I'm a great cook. We've been here on many Occasions and have never been dissatisfied with the food, service or entertainment.
We always expect that on a weekend its going to be busy and that the wait time might be a little longer for food, but we always are welcomed, get wonderful service and the food is fantastic
The prices are very reasonable for the portion size and the qualityof food. Never a miss...always a hit.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice..... Have a drink, sit back and take in the ambiance. Give it 15 minutes. If your gut feel tells you something is strangely out of place then give some credit to evolutionary instincts and leave. Your credit card will thank you.

If I was to write a review for a young student's dish, maybe of 12 years old, I would stay positive. I would encourage the student to keep exploring the world of food, to follow their passion and to never let others persuade them from inner talents.

If I was to write the same review for an adult, an adult working in a restaurant, at a restaurant which charges $28 for an entree, I would encourage myself to be honest, to explore the truth and attempt to persuade others with the conclusions of my experience.

The food is uninspiring. I struggled to find something, anything, that a home cook could not easily put together. Match this with prices that are well above the median of Little Italy and I cannot find a single reason to ever return. However, I can list a few more not to return.

The service team seemed flustered and confused. The owner continually wandered the patio, drink in hand, with a constant impatience that verged on neurotic. The live music, which could of been a nice touch, over powered the patio. The food was a Tuesday homemade spaghetti dinner at best.

I'm sorry, the free Limoncello was fresh back when people used the expression fresh.

Horrible experience. We arrived at 7pm for our reservation. We were served our first drink promptly but after that...downhill. We had to ask for menus, water and bread. The server finally took our order around 725pm and we didn't get our food until 840pm!!!! Absolutely unacceptable. No offer of a discount. We were offered free dessert but clearly the server did not listen when we had already explained that we were now very late for a friends wedding reception. The server did not get a very good tip from me. Clearly not enough competet staff and the kitchen needs new management. The food was average. I would never return there. I also sent an email to the restaurant and have to receive a reply. I guess Frank the owner doesn't care.
Carole
Memorable. Having read the reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. If only to sit on their beautiful patio for the evening. We were really surprised at the excellent level of service and the great quality of food. We were welcomed warmly, seated promptly and the waiter got right into explaining the specials and reccommended some wonderful appetizers.
We shared the calamari and an antipasto platter, both were delicious. For main courses I had the Lasagna, always a favourite and my husband had the pasta with spicy sausage. The portion sizes were great, we left feeling well fed, and after sharing a beautiful bottle of red, we were completely satisfied that this is a great restaurant and worth visiting again.

Horrific!. We have eaten at La Piazza twice for lunch and enjoyed the ambiance but experienced problems each time. We keep going back because we want to like it. We returned last evening for dinner with two guests. The evening was horrible! Despite having made a reservation on the patio we stood waiting for 10 minutes while they tried to figure out where to seat us. Our guests were 87 and 73 years of age... We were finally invited to have a seat at the bar inside by a hospitable younger host but the bar stools were too high for our elderly guests so we sat down to wait at a table. At our insistance, we were given complimentary glasses of wine. After another 15 minutes, our table on the patio was "ready" - except it was lacking side dishes, napkins and cutlery. There was a live band playing on the outoor stage. They were quite good but the volume was much too high for "dinner music", drowning out conversation. Our waiter brought cutlery, napkins and side dishes and took our appetizer order and entree orders together. The bruschetta we ordered took over 25 minutes and only came after I went inside to ask about it. It was not even properly prepared, in that it consisted of a plate with 7 small pieces of bread, and a small bowl with only 4 slices of cheese and the chopped tomato - DIY. Our entrees took another hour but tasted very good. The waiter said he would be right back with the parmesan and pepper. After a several minute wait, my partner asked the passing waiter and he continued on without acknowledging her request. I had to ask another staff member who did respond promptly. Throughout the evening, the owner (Frank?) wandered about, drink in hand, mixing with the patrons as he is should do, however as the evening wore on, he seemed drunk and began yelping loudly and clapping to the music - quite a distraction for his guests. The restaurant seemed understaffed and he should have been managing and helping them rather than treating it like his own private party. My partner and our guests couldn't handle the annoyance any longer and left as soon as they had finished their entrees. I signaled for the cheque and the waiter brought it and watched over my shoulder as I entered the tip %. He had the audacity to question me on it! The final straw was when three of the other patrons, friends of the owner, we're having a cigarette on the sidewalk and harassed my partner by ogling her and trying to get her attention as she left. All in all, the worst evening I have ever experienced.

Disappointed. Having read the large number of reviews and talking to friends, we looked forward to our first visit to La Piazza. I don't generally write negative reviews as I prefer to stay silent and just not visit anymore. However, this times felt it was needed largely due to the hopes that we had found a new place to visit regularly being so out of whack with the service we received.b

First off, let's cover the good things. The ambiance is nice. We were in the back room and the various knick-knacks, paintings, tv with pictures, and view of the courtyard were quite impressive.

The calamari is as good as the menu claims - quite possibly the best we've had and we eat it everywhere.

We started things off a little rough - with a glass of ice water being broken on my wife. She toughed it out through dinner though she had been soaked through. Thought this was an easy mistake it was handled very poorly.

The mistakes just piled up - my wife very specifically asked for her salad dressing on the side and it arrived drenched in dressing. For some reason, though we ordered a normal portion of pasta for my daughter (olive oil and Parmesan) we ended up with child portion. We mentioned this to the waitress and she apologized. We needed another since it was tiny. They charged for two kids meals, which was more expensive than the original menu item. Another small issue - my son's menu was apparently old as it offered various sauces at no additional charge - but we were charged. None of these items really was crippling by itself - but in aggregate it was quite frustrating.

The speed of service was incredibly slow. I watched my beer sit at the bar for over 5 minutes both times.

There is a really good set of information about the Haitian coffee that they use. I hadnt planned on having an espresso but after reading its was intrigued. It arrived after I had paid for it. It wasnt anywhere near fresh and was cold.

I don't think we will go back, which is a disappointment as we like to visit the restaurants in Manotick and as I mentioned we had hoped to find a new place. The food was good and someways great but the service was abysmal. I have had much more minor issues at least warrant a short visit from a manager. I don't expect freebies or compensation but some interest on the part of the owner or manager is expected when things go sideways.

If you like great Italian food. Go to La Piazza. I don't like to go out for Italian food unless it from La Piazza. It fresh Italian food at its best. It's a taste of Italy.
Mike
La Piazza Courtyard & Lounge. Save your money... food is okay not alot of flavour Calamare was dripping with grease.. over priced... crowded everyone is on top of each other. My wife went to the washroom and burnt her hand and other than the waitress saying sorry no other person seemed concerned. If there was a fire at this restaurant you would have trouble getting out as the exterior door open to the interior so if everyone was trying to get out the door would jam and .........will not go back.

Fantastic Dining Experience. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately at a nice table by the windows.

The food was delicious, the pasta was homemade and the ingredients were fresh! We shared the caprese salad as a starter, this was sublime! We then both had pasta, I highly recommend the manicotti. This was up to the standards of REAL Italian food!

The price was excellent especially considering the quality.

Service was friendly, I would highly recommend it!!!!

Dining excellence. Beautiful food.... Excellent traditional Italian dining establishment where they focus on the olfactory senses to guide you through your meal. Wonderful dining experience.

Great food, great service. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and food that we received at this restaurant. We went with no real expectations, yes, we had heard that it was great but you can only really trust yourself when it comes to what you like to eat.
Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to a nice quiet table. We received menus right away and warm, fresh, bread was served to us very quickly - delicious I might add.
I chose the caprese salad to start, the flavors blended beautifully and the dish was presented very well. My husband had the smelts, these were a new thing for him but he thouroughly enjoyed them, a little spicy with the chilli flakes but it really added to the flavor and crunch.
For my main course I had the Rack of Lamb which was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and might have very well been the best I've had, lamb is a hard dish to get right but this restaurant did it right.
My hubby had the Steak Gorgonzola, the tangy sauce was a lovely combination with the steak.
Overall we hade a wonderful meal and a wonderful evening - I would certainly return.

Horrible. I was at La Piazza on New Years Eve. Treated horribly by the drunken owner, Frank. And was told I could not sit atthe bar and drink with a few of my friends unless we all paid $50 cash. He then told us all to get out because we wouldn't pay. Two of the girls sitting with us actually worked there and quit on the spot. Most of his staff dislike the owner because he is drunken and rude. I will never return to this restaurant and have never been treated so horribly in my life. The food is good but overpriced, and no point of going when you have to deal with a rude drunken fool.

Great Food. My wife and I took guests from out of town to La Piazza for dinner on Saturday night got there around 630pm got seated on their amazing patio right away. They even had a band playing on the outdoor stage. the food was amazing and the service was great. the whole atmosphere was perfect.
we stayed the whole night ended up only leaving around midnight sat on the patio the whole time having drinks after our dinner. The owner even came by and bought us another bottle of wine and sat and talked to us for a bit very nice man. We will be going back again for sure!!!

No Good. I have been to La Piazza Courtyard & Lounge twice and would never go back, the first time : the wait time was too long, the waiter had no idea what he was doing, it was something you see in the movies and say this could never happen here but it did! There menu shows a chef and he doesn't even work there anymore, I asked for pizza menu
only to wait 1/2 for the order: the waiter said they have no Pizza Douge!
We deceided to give it one more try , as I heard the Pizza
where so good, This time the service was worse, long wait times , I asked the waitress what where some of her fav
foods and she said I won't eat cheese, pasta(crazy) she poured the wine ,like it was a soda pop, right to the top! Everyones meals came( which took about 50 mins) and still
no Pizza , another 10 Pizza and I was served a Pizza not fit for a dog, she ask me How was the Pizza and I told her, she said nothing.
So , The manger doesn't care about his clients and this place will go down hill!
If you are looking for poor service, I mean poor service, poor food
long wait times , than this is the place for yu.This place is crap! If they offer me a free meal , I wouldn't go.
