Review Can Tho - Longueuil

Anthony Boucher
Went there for my step-mom birthday, the vibe is nice and the food was alright. Cheap food for cheap price, it cost 50$ with tip for two people which is pretty legit. The yumyum soup was delicious with just the right amount of spices! The pad can tho wasn't my type of padthai, it was very sweet but with à little bit of soy sauce and schriracha, it was better! The service is alright too, I recommend this place for takeout during week days, it is still good at anytime too lol.

Good food. Good price. Staffs are a little "shy" but they work fast. We got our food pretty quickly. Decor is nice. The restaurant is clean. You will be full after you leave the restaurant. Portions are friendly. And the fried ice cream is amazing

To give a little context, I have eaten at at least six different Vietnamese restaurants serving the traditional meals: pho, grilled meats and the appetizers such as fresh spring rolls. At Can Tho you can basically say they dum down their food for the perhaps less knowledgeable of certain people of Longueuil. The lack of the usual table accessories such as: tray full of chopsticks, asian soup spoons, hoisin sauce, sriracha, chili garlic sauce and the other things you might usually find was showing how less authentic it felt. The food was fine, quickly served and warm. I enjoyed the presence of vegetables in their basic home soup and the general tao. I also appreciated having green tea and the fish sauce I asked for meaning they still had some staples you could expect. In summary, if you are you used to eating at few different places feeling more authentic usually found in Montreal, you might be disappointed but its still not bad to eat and the service is quick. PS the only picture I have is of the tempura shrimp which wasn't bad but it did not seem like the usual panko bread crumbs, felt more like the stuff you get with frozen chicken nuggets.

Pho is not bad, but has a different taste from what I have tried before. Bowl sixe- Medium, price 13$. You can bring your beverage/alcohol. Busy place. A bit noisy. Staff works fast without tip's demands. Cash or debit accepted only.

It was better some months ago. Quality is not the same as before. Something changed, the chicken with peanuts was very better compared to the current recipe.

Quick service, good food, a bit expensive for some plates but generally correctly priced. It's a "bring your own wine" so don't forget your bottles !

Great service. Had their soup meal. Delicious broth, quality meat. Thank you for the beverage while I waited for my take out order.

I went there because I was craving a soup. I got exactly what I was looking for. I can't think of anything I would have wanted different. Tasted fresh and authentic. The service is friendly and fast.
