Review Eight Cuisine International Buffet - London

Several friends & I celebrated Valentine's at 8 Cuisine. It was an excellent experience. The food not only was delicious but there was a wide variety from which to choose. The service was outstanding , over & above what was expected. We will certainly be going back.

Eight Cuisine lived up to its reputation and served up a truly delicious meal today. If you're in the mood go out and try it, its a huge buffet with food from all over the world and everything is brand new and spotless. Ramsey the general manager is tons of fun! And he'll make sure you're looked after....

I got to hand to them, the inside of the place is immaculate, definitely on the high end in the buffet sector. The food is amazing; the prime rib, the enormous beef ribs, the roast lamb, and the list goes on. I eat out all the time, and i must say for $24.99 , you get what you pay for,and you can tell that the quality of their produce and proteins is high. I don't know about the other so called "review" sounds like a lot of malicious words from a disgruntled employee LOL, any ways Hats off 8 Cuisine, keep it up!

This is the best buffet in London by far ! The food is generally very tasty, not generic, you have so many different TYPES ( not just asian ). The price represents the quality, the truth is you're going to spend this money anyways so why not have great food AND great selection. There's tons of seating and even private rooms if you need ( work functions etc.. )

If you're looking to go to a buffet restaurant in London, then this is definitely the place to go. The food here is quite delicious and there is something for everyone. It's decorated quite nicely, too. Hope this place sticks around.

The service was very good. Food was fresh and selections were excellent. We will highly recommend this place.

End foretold!. Place was bad located, food was reheated , most of time empty. And positive reviews only from family and friends. Now close only open as banquet hall.

Hours. Is this restaurant even open anymore? Went to go there and the place was lifeless....enjoyed it when we went and was our reason for returning but its never open when we go by!!

Are you kidding ?. It was obviously not fresh made today, yesterday and maybe not even from the day before. The beef at the hot table was cut wrong, letting all the juices out, so I didn't bother with it. the lamb, which was sitting in fat and had a bit of rosemary sprinkled on it. It was uninspiring. None of the food on the hot tables was hot, it was all dry and old. The desert table was a bunch of old cakes, and most was frozen. The problem is the the place it is miles too big and it is a terrible location. When they put out so much food and it doesn't sell they just keep reheating it and putting it out again. The Manager is some 1 who should not be bothering people while they are eating, when it first opened it looked like it might have a go at it, now no 1 goes there, they are closed 4 days a week I believe, and the friendly staff and manger they once had are gone. I think this was a bad choice, get out while you can and open a pizza slice joint.

Mother's Day Brunch. My family attended the Eight Cuisine restaurant for a Mother's Day brunch this past weekend. The staff were friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in the door, and they effortlessly attended to the needs of fifteen adults and five busy young children under the age of five. As a mother's day treat, all of the mothers in our party ate for free (and there were several!), and they brought over complimentary beverages as well. I was initially worried about the food selection and was concerned that, as a very conscientious eater, I wouldn't find anything appetizing. Boy was I wrong! There was a large selection of delicious foods to choose from, and I even had the option of turkey (as opposed to pork) bacon. I am usually not a very big fan of the service or selection at buffets and I was impressed with both at Eight Cuisine (which is what prompted me to write this review). Overall, a great experience that I would recommend to anyone!

Very impressed. I stumbled upon this place when the Mandarine was too full, me and my boyfriend really wanted a buffet so googled buffets in London and this place came up, and we are glad we found it! I have been there twice this week, and once was for mothers day. The staff are remarkably professional, they are so sweet and the owner even goes around to make sure everyone is okay. Even if the food was not amazing, they would get an A+ on service. The food however is amazing. There is something for everyone, people who like spicy, people who don't eat meat, people who have sensitive stomachs, people who cannot eat certain meats. There is so much variety, but having the variety does not impact the quality and taste. The kitchen must be working really hard to make that much food but to have it taste amazing. I hated being full because I just wanted to go back for more, and I probably will sometime this week.

Great First Impression!. Had an awesome Mother's day lunch today. The atmosphere was great, the decor was very welcoming and chic. I always check the bathrooms, and they were clean, great lighting, and well stocked. The variety of the menu is outstanding, it was nice to see everyone eating what they want ( Canadian, Middle Eastern, Thai, Sushi, even breakfast!) The staff were a little slow on drinks but they did apologize, and were very professional. Some of the food was lukewarm, but we did come near the end of lunch service, and they weren't terribly busy so it is understandable. My Mom loved that they cooked the Roast Beef the way she likes it, they were not afraid to accommodate! (My cousin is allergic to nuts, it is nice to have a peanut free buffet too!) Overall, the cost, savings to seniors and the surprise "Mothers eat free" made this a splendid way to spend Mother's day with family!

Great first time.. Tried Eight tonight for the first time and we had an enjoyable experience. Wait staff and manager were wonderful, food was hot and delish, the decor is very modern. Also a nice surprise, Mothers eat FREE all weekend, and Fathers will be free all weekend for Fathers day. We will def return :)

A Real Review By A Real Chef. Ok, I am not always a fan of buffets but my boyfriend is so I thought I would give Eight Cuisine International
Buffet a try. I am going to try to keep this civil and just give an honest critique so here goes. I will start with the positive and say that this restaurant is really clean and the decor is not to bad. That said the food was less than mediocre. It was obviously not fresh made today, yesterday and maybe not even from the day before. The beef at the hot table was cut wrong, letting all the juices out, so I didn't bother with it. No one was manning the station so I took the choicest meat I saw, the lamb, which was sitting in fat and had a bit of rosemary sprinkled on it. It was uninspiring. None of the food on the hot tables was hot, it was all dry and old. The desert table was a bunch of soggy old cakes. The baklawa was made from cake flower and didn't even resemble what it was supposed to be. The main problem is the facility is miles too big and it is a terrible location. When they put out so much food and it doesn't sell they just keep reheating it and putting it out again. A bit of advice to the owner, get out while you still have some money left. Find a much smaller restaurant to rent in a better location and try serving one culture of food that you do really well.

April 17, 2014. We'll I was impressed. Firstly I didn't know what to expect knowing the area and the history of the building. the owners have done an excellent job reviving the building. Tastefully decorated, extremely clean. I wasn't expecting a buffet, being as I have not been there before and was thoroughly surprised at the choices and freshness of the food. All of my choices were excellent and the lamb was succulent. Our wait staff were all attentive and courteous. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Eight Fingers Up for this place, a touch of home !. I went there (Eight Cuisine) on April 17, 2014 for the first time and the inside of the restaurant is open and well decorated. This place is different than others. Who cares about its location on Gore Road East of Highbury its really nice, come to EOA !
The portions on the buffet are smaller therefore they have to cook it and plate it while it's fresh and hot. They don't have mammoth piles of food that just sites there. You can taste the difference.
Its a mix of Indian , Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern and of course really nice beef for the Canadian folk. The Ice Cream is from the London Creamery so you knows its great. The soups were really 'yummy' as well the different types of rice are great.
Eight Cuisine reminds me of a bit of home cooked meals that Mama used to make. We all know how good homemade food is.
Mistynme
Awesome food!. We just had supper there, it was terrific! There were a lot of choices and the food was so freshly made. This place is great to let you try out new foods without committing to an entire meal. The place was spotless too and the staff were attentive and quick. We all came out of the restaurant, very well fed! :-) We will definitely be back!

Wow, says so much about this new restaurant. Our first impression, good to see a revival of an old building, keeping some of the features and improving on them. We experienced hospitality from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We were uncertain as to what to expect. The price was good the service great, and the food fantastic. Highly, recommend this restaurant. I loved the décor, and just the general feeling. We tried foods that we had not tried before, loved their Kebabs, and amazing seafood sauce for shrimp, yummm. So much selection, my only complaint was that I could not try everything, loved the fact that everything was presented beautifully and had an amazing fresh flavour and it was hot. ;When asked server was educated to what the ingredients were and how they are usually eaten or served. Discovered some middle eastern fare and loved it. Secret to really enjoying it, is take the time to look at all the hot and cold tables and think about what you want to try. We arrived before the buffet was set up for the evening, so we had coffee and enjoyed getting to know the restaurant, our server was great, the manager was very positive and with helpful suggestions.
Lots of seating, room to move your chairs without bumping into other tables, and with the acoustics you could have a large group beside a small table and you can over hear conversations, makes it nice.
I was impressed by how clean the floors and all of the equipment was it really was spic and span. The bathrooms were very clean. Please try you will not be disappointed. Love love love love it....

Eight Cuisine International Buffet: Review. My first time visiting Eight Cuisine was definitely a great one! The food, atmosphere and staff were all incredible! This will not be my last time visiting Eight Cuisine, I can tell you that!

Food: From my understanding, Eight Cuisine is an international buffet that offers eight types of cuisine, all at the same time, in one place. Upon arriving, it's clear that there is a lot of food available, I counted nine buffet tables, and the variety was absolutely unmatched. As a vegetarian, the selection at buffets can always be a little tricky, because of the overwhelming meat options, however, due to the size and variety of the food at Eight Cuisine, I was able to have many full plates of different foods while still remaining true to my diet, which was amazing. Regardless, I was also visiting with my omnivorous friends and they were also satisfied with each and every plate of food they had. Everything looked and smelt absolutely delicious, the variety of salads, cold food, hot food, sushi, a carving table and desserts were more than enough to satisfy any foodie!

Atmosphere: The location itself is absolutely huge! You would never feel overwhelmed or stuffy while visiting Eight Cuisine, due to all the space. The parking also mimics that, which is always something to look for! The space between the buffet tables allows many people to be around them at one time, and the spacing between the tables allows you to really have your own space and talk. I visited the restaurant with friends and never felt like we had to talk over crowds or over the table. The space was quiet and the music was tasteful, and at a tasteful volume, as well. The restaurant was also really squeaky clean, from the floors to the ceiling.

Staff: The staff were all so friendly and professional, I was welcomed into the restaurant with open arms and smiles. Throughout the meal, we were asked several times by different staff members if everything was okay and if we needed anything, which was lovely, because it really felt like the staff cared about us being there. The staff also all seems to work really well together and they really are all so passionate about their restaurant.

Overall, I would highly recommend anyone to visit Eight Cuisine. The caliber of food was excellent, the variety of food was incomparable, and the quality was delicious. The restaurant itself was beautifully kept, the staff, so welcoming and friendly. No complaints at all! I encourage anyone to visit, bring the family, friends and most importantly, your appetite!

My family and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff, the food variety, taste, and everything about the whole experience!
I'm quite surprised about the negative comments on here...

Complete waste of money! Arrived at 2:20 and were seated, only to be told AFTER our measly first plate of food that they were already closing (at 2:30). We were told to hurry up and get some hot food -- which was lukewarm and stale, barely any left to begin with. They should not have seated us 10 minutes before closing and their food was miserable at best.

I really like this place! The staff are very friendly. The food is like any other buffet I've been too, but good. The thing I thought was really good was their prime rib! Delicious!! I would come back again!

I travel a lot. Have been to all kinds of buffets, and I prefer buffets for the ability to sample many different foods. I too thought the price was a little high at first, but was ready to give it a shot. I am sooo glad I did. Of course they have the staples of your local Chinese buffets, but some people expect that. What blew me away was the staff, and their attention to detail. The options were numerous, and I thoroughly enjoyed the roast beef, fresh lamb and many international dishes I may not have otherwise tried. I am in London once a month, and now I know where I will be, also once a month. The night I was there, the dining area was not full. Nor was the dishes in the warmers. Just enough for people to eat, and not let it dry out. Always fresher foods. I would rather wait even for a dish to be refilled than to eat at some of the buffets that keep there full dishes drying out. A definite two thumbs up. Cannot wait to come back.

Delicious Buffet. Had a most delicious buffet dinner at Eight Cuisine this evening. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed all their options, of which there were many. It was so great tasting all the various ethnic cuisines. We'll be back for sure.

Way over priced. I went with family to many buffet r restaurants all over the place from London Ontario all the way to Halifax some of them they were Ok most of them were AMAZING but only 2 were really really bad the 1st one is Kings buffet in London Ontario it's pure garbage not even worth parking your car there and the 2nd one is this one it's way over priced for the quality of the food and the service their Indian food is is mild where is supposed to be spicy HOT and no Indian rice !!!!!! . Their Italian food has no taste to it at all the only thing was ok is the stake .

I Spoke with the manager and asked how was my experience here and I told its really bad the Indian for is not even mild were it supposed to be hot or at least feel some spice to it . his answer was WHITE people can't eat spicy food Give me. Brake .

I went with my wife and 4 year old son we paid $87.00 for the food and it's not worth $20.00

That was few months back I don't mind to give it one more chance to see if there any changes were made .

But Kings buffet London I wouldn't recommend it for my worst enemy. I gave them 3 chances over 2 year period .every time it's worst even with the new renovation . Pure Garbage!!

Too bad.... The food is cold and tastes like it is badly cooked boxed food from M&M's. Staff is moderately friendly, but I hear bad things about the Manager. The staff is not treated with equality nor are they respected. If the customer is not of their culture/religion they do not pay as much attention to you, people from their religion get have more advantages at this restaurant. Having one entrance to the building is first of all a fire hazard as well as annoying. My wife states that the women's bathroom has a portable heater in it, she would've felt more comfortable going to that bathroom with her coat on. For the price that they are making their customers pay they need to be doing a much better job. I mean seriously, 65$ for a buffet for two of cold food is not necessary. I do not recommend.
Doubcee
Thumbs Down. Terrible. Food is cold and not worth the money or the calories. Dessert came from a box. Tables are small and have an odd layout. I wouldn't eat the food even if it was free.

Also, blocking off the Gore entrance to the parking lot is annoying. They should have two entrances open so that people can enter from both Gore and Hamilton.

I'm surprised they're still open.

International disaster!! Food was awful and cold. Frozen crap heated up. A very confused, hashed up weirdness of a buffet. If you want a buffet, for the money, Mandarin is your best bet.

AMAZING!. My family and I went to this restaurant for my birthday and I was so glad I chose it! The food is GREAT - so many selections and the staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful! Inside the decor is fresh and modern and the space is HUGE! Loved it all - can't wait to go back!
Thanks again!
Allison Fickling.

New years dinner and pricing and the only added item was approx 10 cold crab legs, felt like I was at a buffet at a 3 star resort in caribbean not worth the money

The food sucked. Nice looking restaurant and nice staff however the food was terrible. Big waste of money. Would never go again or recommend it.

Great Restaurant!!!. I am very surprised about the negative comments I have read....I actually really enjoyed my visit today. The staff and manager were really nice and welcoming. They always made sure everything was ok and that we enjoy our food and visit, which we did :) The food was actually great I must say. The atmosphere was just right for a nice family dinner. My father always takes his friends and co-workers there and he really enjoys it!
I really love this restaurant and I will be coming back for sure! Oh, and for those complaining about the price, I definitely think its fair. I mean come on! 13.99 for lunch and 24.99 for dinner with really good food, lots of variety, and very very nice staff and manager.... of course it's WORTH IT!

Right off the bat I was dissapointed I couldn't enjoy a beer or glass of wine with my roast beef dinner! Not everyone likes fountain pop with roast beef. Also, the food seemed store bought frozen. Definately not freshly made. I can pay a lot less at the grocery store, have a beer and stay home. The owner was annoying too. Flocking from table to table while people are eating.

I really enjoyed my experience for the first time.. The manager and staff were amazing, catered us with open arms... The food was delicious and a good variety which catered to what I look for in a restaurant... It was clean and more than enough to choose from... I will go back again and again... :)

EXCELLENT FOOD HERE. Friends and I went to Eight Cuisine on Feb 13. 2014. The food was delicious, warm and cold, spicy and enjoyable. We had a wonderful dinner. Delicious lamb and beef, lovely spicy shrimps, great dessert, wonderful service. Great dining area and staff. Have eaten lunch and dinner at Eight Cuisine with family; adults and children, and friends and each time the experience was great. Enjoyed the different spices and herbs used in the meats and fish, . Will continue to eat there and invite family and friends to eat at Eight Cuisine Restaurant as well. I recommend Eight Cuisine to everyone. ellenn M. .

-----15 Nov, 2013-----

Enjoyed dinner and lunch at this place. Lovely decor, delicious food, great service, ample parking, easy access from NW london. Good variety of food, all delicious. Recommend Eight Cuisine Restaurant...

Birthday Celebrations. I was very impressed with the food. The selection was very good and everything was temperature appropriate. It was a pleasant environment with extremely attentive staff.

Bad food. To those who think these reviews are fake, this one is real and I am not a former employee. It was warm or cold food. Bland and over priced. The pizza is frozen not fresh, the desserts cheap store bought, Prime rib bland, tender but cold. Mashed potatoes are sour. The Indian food was excellent........However, for the ridiculous price they charge go to an Indian restaurant for half the price.
So if you had a good meal, good for you, but most people here have not had a good meal there. Therefore all the bad reviews.
GoHawks
No Pork? LOL! Well ok.... So you open up a buffet and describe it as international cuisine, in Canada, the West, North America, and there is no pork? LOL.
Well, ok, I can do without pork for a meal. But you really should have your menu posted on your entrance or point out the fact that certain foods are not served.
OK, lets move on. All entrances to the place, except for one were blocked which meant I had to drive around the building, onto a different road to get in. That right there was irritating.
I had the lunch buffet which was just over $15. There was quite a few choices of foods to choose from that I guess you could describe as "International" There was the typical American foods. Chinese. Indian, and Middle Eastern. It was nice to have the Indian and Middle Eastern choices. You can have better Indian and Middle Eastern food elsewhere, at restaurants dedicated to those dishes, but it was alright. I wish they had more choices of Middle Eastern and Indian dishes. The salad bar and desert bar was ok and comparable to King's Buffet. In addition the salad bar had some Middle Eastern items that I was happy to choose from. So, for a $15 dollar lunch, I would have to say it was alright here. I haven't had dinner here but for over $26 which is what the dinner buffet is, it would have to be much better than what was offered for lunch. I would expect some major seafood options like lobster, crab, lamb shanks, prime rib etc. otherwise I would pass this place by.

Amazing place, amazing food, amazing service! I will definitely come back, PS Eight Cuisine your wings rock my socks off!

I really enjoyed this first time experience! I went on Eid for lunch! And I was very impressed!!!! I am really hoping that it wasn't just amazing because it was Eid and it will always be that fresh and delicious. I plan to bring my parents there for their birthday!! Definitely recommend this place!

It's a big facility with variety of food and excellent service. Glad to see a new addition in London Ontario outside dining. Today on saturday 28th Sep. we had a dinner with my Friend's family. We really enjoyed the dinner, but there was something missing. We pakistani families like Basmati rice, we like KARAHI GOSHAT, NAAN etc. If the management introduce these items, I guarantee there will be more flow of Pakistani, indian families in the restaurant then it will be a real International Buffet.....
Bev
The selection is amazing and the staff is great. Very attentive and sweet. I am glad to see that london finally has a decent buffet. I have been out to other restaurants and for 1 appetizer and 2 entrees which one was chicken breast and the other was just a sandwich and fries we paid $65 before tip so to have a place where we get to pick and choose as much as we would like for the same price I cannot complain.
The food was endless and the carving station was amazing. I will definatley be back.

Sunday Buffet Dinner. Overall appearance was big and lots of staff, freshly painted dark grey inside. Food looked appealing at first glance walk about. However, neither myself or my partner could eat one thing on our plates, after sampling several items . Everything was either cold, had been sitting warming for hours, or not cooked correctly. Prime Rib so tough would not cut with knife, potatoes left aftertaste of vinegar or sour flavour. Food was maybe the worse we have ever eaten. Waiter was informed we did not eat and he still charged full pop at $70.00 for the two of us. Since they did not have a liquor licence yet, this only included the buffet and two soda drinks. Very expensive, lots of quantity, but very poor quality. No desire to return.
Jennifer
Excellent food, decent price. I'm a little disappointed to see all the harsh reviews here - I don't think they're particularly warranted. I quite enjoyed the food, and thought for a buffet it was pretty high quality, and reasonably priced. I went there for lunch on Tuesday, more or less right after they opened. Everything they had tasted great, and for the most part I have no complaints. It's by far and large the best buffet restaurant I have ever been to.

There are some comments on the food temperature, and I must say I noticed this with one of the dishes - the sauce for the butter chicken. It wasn't cold, though, and the flavour was fine. I'll cut them a little slack, seeing as they haven't been open long and are getting used to their equipment. Indeed, the owner and servers are very amenable and willing to listen to any suggestions and complaints you may have.

Overall, I liked this place quite a bit, and I'm definitely recommending it to family and friends. You really can't beat the selection - there really is something there for everyone. It's worth trying out, and I really hope this place doesn't close "in 6 weeks", to quote another reviewer here.
Shannon
Not good. Really. I wanted to like it. But the food was cold and rather plain. For $50 total for myself and a 4 year old I expected more. To claim they have over 200 items must be counting the bowl of raisins and crackers. Dessert was disappointing as well. Save your money.
Anita
Lunchbag letdown. On the buffet side of things, the hot food wasn't all that hot, and all of it was basically tasteless. There was a lot of new and interesting dishes that you don't find at your regular buffet, I was looking forward to them, but nothing seemed to hit the target in the way of taste. They all felt as though they were missing something. The cutting station was good though, and it was nice to have lamb as an option. The layout is very reminiscent of a high school cafeteria, along with being very cold feeling. The desert bar had zero for choices if you're allergic to gluten. The only option for you is ice cream. The service was very attentive and pleasant. I just wish it could have been better. I was hoping to really like it, but I didn't.

Not worth $30 for dinner with pop. Had dinner during holiday weekend ($26.99). Service was good (nothing bad or great). Fountain pop was $2.99 and the server asked if I wanted a refill instead of bringing out one when I had set my empty glass aside (I was nowhere near finishing dinner). As for the food, I hardly think it covered “eight cuisines”. Please note that two dishes do not make a “cuisine”. There was the carving station and “sushi” station at the back and four serving areas (one for dessert / ice cream, one for salad and cold seafood and two for hot food, which included various soups. There were some items that stood out – the prime rib was tender and tasty (though the au jus was cold), the vegetable sticky rice, Korean squid, cheese and rosemary breads and tiramisu were good. As for the rest, it was disappointing. The sushi rolls were tiny and looked unappetizing, there was no sushi (raw fish), the Chinese / Thai / Japanese food were not appealing and looked to be prepared from frozen, curries needed basmati rice or naan, seafood items were either fried, breaded or drowned in sauce, much of the food was not hot enough (temperature wise) and desserts were out of a box. Staff seemed to be turning over the food instead of bringing out fresh items. Was hoping that there would be something different about this place like having cook-to-order stations. Priced the same as Mandarin (weekend dinner) but its food quality is much lower than Mandarin. Definitely will not return for dinner but may give it another try during weekday lunch since it is priced at $13.99.
Dan
I went there on opening day which was a weekday. I asked what the price was, their reply, " competitive price". They didn't say how much until I asked them the second time. The price $24.99/ person. It was expensive considering it was a weekday night. I wouldn't mind the price if the food tasted good and also if they offer any signature dishes. I was not please with the hot food and salad items. They were offering snow crab but it was not good. Salad was below average with only a few selection. They were the worst Buffet restaurant. It was so bad I only had pieces to taste because I knew I would be disappointed. All five of us didn't enjoy.
-5 out if 10

Save your money.

Good food!!!. Went to the new one in London Ontario aug. 30th. Food was Excellent. service was excellent. Roast beef was awesome as was the soup. Salad dressing was inferior.. I'll definitely go back. It impressed me that they had roast beef on their buffet at lunch. 9/10
