Review Five Fortune Culture - London

One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've been to! I was a bit taken aback by the price at first but it was worth it. I recommend the mushroom dish and fish in copper pot!

The food are made fresh, therefore takes a while to cook, but the taste is excellent!

We looked forward to coming because this restaurant is strongly recommended by friends. We found the interior pleasant and the service courteous but the food does not live up to the price tag. The "cross-bridge rice noodle" uses a lot of substitute ingredients such as bell peppers, fish tofu, and yes, SPAM. I'd be okay with that if they charged 10, not 15 dollars. The portion is pretty large, but that doesn't do it for me. Additionally, the service staff should at least wear consistent matching attire to make the place look more professional. We spent almost $50 after tax and tip for a bowl of noodles , a fried rice, and a tofu appetizer with no drinks. Even with the gift escargot and yorgot it's too much. Edit: I appreciate the owner's response and I felt better about my purchase. My suggestion is that if you wish to be a upscale restaurant with original and high quality food then do not compromise on 1. utensils (the spoon I used had peeling chrome paint) 2. service staff training and attire, 3. menus (lots of scotch tape and permanent marker will not help) 4. ingredients, no SPAM. 5. Environment, remove clutter (kitchen supplies should not appear in the dining room). If you have a consistent upscale appearance, then you can charge $25 for a bowl of noodles and I will pay for it and treat it as a romantic night out. Appearance is reality. Right now, you are not compromising on your soup but you are compromising on plenty else.

This place offers great Chinese food and the owner was very friendly. Although the price is a bit expensive, some menu items have very large portions. The food is generally good but there are certain menu items that are awful and should be removed. For example, one dish was priced at $10 but it was just grilled Spam.

Definitely worth going! Authentic Chinese food! Im pretty picky on food, and the food here can get an A for my taste! Price is a bit steep, however it worths every penny given there are very limited options to choose from that offer delicious dishes.

You may see other reviews are not as good. As a pikcy and fussy Chinese southerner, I would say this is the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant you can find in London. If you wanna try out some 100% real exotic cuisines home, you cannot miss out. I appciate the chef and owner of this place that they stick to their province's (Yunnan) features, not a little modification. Most north American Chinese restaurants are catering to natives' preference like sweet, greasy and gravy-ish foods, which are based on Cantonese cuisines. Forget about congee and General Tsao chicken, there are a ton of more Chinese delicous to explore.

wonderful food! Price is a little bit expensive. The spicy food is really awesome, but order careful if you can't take 100%. I would recommend 25% to try first.

I like spicy flavors and the food here is very delicious. The service is not very consistent. And parking is also not very convenient in this area of downtown.

food is relally good, very spicy. Reminds me of my hometown. But the price is a little expensive. Considering the food, it is money well spent.
