Unlike some of the other reviewers, I always find my food from here very tasty and a great value. I particularly love the combination plate options, and they usually feed me for two meals. They use the right amount of sauce, and the portions are very generous. Thanks, Golden City!

Good food for reasonable prices. The general tso's chicken is mouthwatering. I would eat it everyday for the rest of my life if they gave it to me for free. The fortune cookies are also the best in the world.

We go to eat here at least once a week for lunch . Sesame chicken and rice with a spring roll, all amazing. Best spring roll I've had in a long time. Chicken balls with rice and egg roll , again so so good. Clean oil , rice is always tasty.

We’ve been getting food on Christmas Eve for a number of years and a few times throughout the year. It’s always been fantastic. Always nice and hot and ready when we go to pick it up. Christmas Eve this year was busy but they still had it ready quickly and the food was amazing! Tender meats, perfectly cooked vegetables and noodles exactly the way they should be. Eat here! You won’t be disappointed!

Love the food here. I always get the C3 and the crab and cream cheese wonton. The C3 is the fried rice, chicken balls smothered in sweet and sour sauce, with chicken chop suey and one egg roll. The chicken balls are my favourite of all Chinese places, and the egg roll is solid. I’ve yet to have a chop suey I don’t like so I can’t give them too much credit for it being good because I think it’s hard to butcher. I highly recommend you get the cream cheese and crab wonton.. so good. Overall, this place never disappoints.

2023 01 14 recommended by a friend, I ordered Wong tong soup, I love that it was seasoned well, low salt, my Dr. thanks you. My wife loved the pork fried rice too, again, it was fresh and flavorful, not a lot of salt, we also ordered thai dop voy. it was fresh tasty and delicious.

I have never been disappointed in this restaurant. Mostly I get the take out, but sometimes I have eaten in the very small area for dining. The staff - usually Christine, is always friendly, & happy to serve you. This is mainly a take out restaurant, & is really not set up for dining in. The one time I had a small problem with a take out, it was rectified immediately. I have had many great dinners over the yrs. from this restaurant, & I continue to recommend it to friends. It is reasonable & delicious. Lunch specials are particularly a good deal!

If I could give a zero I would, to start I have never eaten here before so my family wanted to try something new, which I also told the person taking my order. I called and placed an order at 5:04 pm for delivery and was told that it would be delivered within 40 minutes. Ok so an hour later food as not showed up and we have somewhere we have to be as well an hour from the current time. So I call back to inquire about my order and I’m told they haven’t even left yet and it’s probably going to be about another 20 minuets or so! What! So I ask if I can get a discount and explain that I have to be somewhere and I’m told NO! So I told them to just cancel my order, they offered me nothing to try and make up for their mistake and lateness, really poor customer service I certainly will not ever try to eat here again!

I have tried Chinese food all over this city, and although this isn't as good tasting as Jays Garden, I would go on the record as saying this is the best deal in town (this title taken from Yiuan's Kitchen). Great proportions, less expensive then most places (about double the amount of food you would get at Congee Chan), and if you spend over $30 and pay with cash, they give you a choice of Wings, Wontons, or Crab and Cheese Wontons. <br/><br/>I ordered the dinner for 3. This is just for the wife and I, so we got 2 dinners and a lunch out of it (I'm 6'3", and I eat). The sweet and sour sauce is good (a little thin), chicken fried rice is average, egg rolls huge, general Tao chicken was VERY mild (some are so hot you can't enjoy it), crab wontons delicious and everything was hot. My only complaint is with the Chicken Balls. They are more like chicken pieces. There is too much batter to chicken ratio. Besides that, I was impressed with this place. I will be going back for sure.

The Golden City is more for take out. The food is very good and the cost is economical (compared to some Chinese restaurants). The lemon chicken looks like a full chicken breast is cooked for you and then sliced (not like the overly processed stuff you usually find)

The best!!!. Hands down the best chinese food in the city! We've been ordering from this hard working local family since they opened and it has been delicious every time! Always hot, fresh and fast I won't order from any other restaurant! Very highly recommended!

Absolutely disgusted. Placed an order for pick up, was told one hour which would make our order ready for 6:10pm. My husband went to pick it up and at 6:20pm it still wasn't ready...thirty or so other customers were waiting, some had been there since 3:30pm!!!!!!! The assistant was extremely rude and had taken other people's money for orders that weren't ready yet.One woman had paid for a $200 order and had been waiting hours! Granted, it's Christmas eve and one expects it to be busy but almost three hours for some customers???? Not to mention being totally lied to regarding the ordering time and then abused ......so glad my husband didn't pay yet. Steer clear if you want to eat this side of the new year!!!

Do not order from here. I've lived in London for a few years now and have tried many different Chinese restaurants. My boyfriend and I ordered golden city for delivery and it was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The gravy was so salty and gross and the chicken soo guy was super slimy. Usually wonton soup is an easy choice to get, but it didn't taste good at all. The worst thing we're the egg rolls. Overall, eww.

Bad Service. Service was bad told order would be ready in one hour and 10 minutes (phoned at 5pm, pick up 6:10). Showed up at time told, then told would be another 15minutes, not a big deal right? Wrong was not ready for another hour (7:10). Nothing for the wait. Got home and missing items out of the order. Horrible service.

Best Chinese food London,Ontario. Fast service, prices are great. Love the Singapore noodle, sesame chicken. Portions are good sizes. The staff are hardworking and polite.

Finding this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The prices were great for the amount of food you get, especially the lunch specials. But whatever you do, do NOT get the egg rolls! I appreciate the fact that they are homemade but they are not nearly as amazing as the rest of their food is.

Good portions, pleasantly surprised. Just driving by and decided to pop in for some take out. We got two combos. I had C15 and DH had C11, both with steamed rice. We did not like the "gravy" on the soo guy (too much like gravy instead of soo guy sauce). Other than that, we were pleased with the combos - food was fresh and hot, portions were generous and the egg roll and veggie spring roll were very good. Our combos came to $18. We liked the sounds of the other menu items. The service was very quick (about 10 minutes from when we ordered). We will try again if we are in that area.

Great. It's a nice place. You can see the chefs cook it and you can see it being packaged. After ordering it is finished fairly fast. The taste is great especially the textures of the fried items coated with sauces. The flavour is not hard which is awesome because most restaurants over-salt everything. I asked about their food and they said everything is made by themselves. They said other than the packaged packages of plum sauce and stuff, their sauces, rolls, chicken wings and everything else is made by themselves. <br/><br/>This place is very cheap. You get your money's worth, so I don't understand why people complain. The workers are very friendly. Delivery is slow but take out is fast.

Cheap and good quality!. We really like this place. Usually when we get a 'dinner for 2' at other restaurants it costs $25-$30. We have been getting two 'combonation platters' here for $17.75. Each easily has enough food for two meals. It doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth like food with MSG does either. <br/>Love all of the combonation platter options!

Avoid like the plague!. Ordered from here because it was getting a 90% rating from Urban Spoon. This is literally the worst Chinese I've had in London as it's obvious the cooks cut every corner possible.<br/>In no particular order...<br/>1) We ordered pork dumplings which were fine, however they use the same pork dumplings in their War Won Ton Soup rather then well, Won Tons.<br/>2) They use Spaghetti noodles for their Shanghai Noodle dishes.<br/>3) Their Ginger Beef resembled a Beef Vegetable dish only the main Veg was onion... and the dish was bland.<br/>4) There is a good chance they use the same sauce in every dish, which was bland with a tinge of sweet.<br/><br/>I've added pics of the Vegetable Shanghai Noodles, which I am pretty sure they used Ketchup & a pic of the Ginger Beef where you will notice the lack of Beef!

The goto place for chinese. Since giving the place a chance when it opened (living a 2 minute walk away), we have not chosen to order from anywhere else. From x-mas day to any other time, the food is always fresh and an amazing value.

Not the typical withered bean sprouts, dried out rice and mass produced chinese food! lots of great menu options, the "standards" and new dishes, everything tasted wonderful and was so fresh! We were so impressed by the food and prices, Golden City is our new "go to" Chinese Restaurant!

Stopped in here for lunch today and wow was I ever impressed! Although it's more of a take-out place than it is an actual restuarant, but that doesn't detract from the amazingly good tasting Chinese food! They have a lunch special which has alomost 20 options to choose from for just $5 and it comes with fried rice and your choice of an egg roll or a pop. I got the Kung pao chicken and it was amazing, Not too spicy but just the right flavour, and made to order fresh and hot right infront of you! The portions are also massive, I mean for the five bucks that you pay for the meal, it's more than well worth it, you'll be more than stuffed. Check it out they just opened not that long ago but it's amazingly good! I can't wait to go back and try out some more lunch specials!
