Festive 4 Course Set Menu was wonderful. Compliments to the chef. Snow crab melts in your mouth, Peking duck was premium quality, sauce to the steak was magical, rice was special. Ambiance was perfect. Service great (thank you Siddhesh). Drinks enjoyable. Few minutes walk from Liverpool Street station. I had a fantastic evening
Very elegant restaurant located on the second floor of the Pan Pacific Hotel. Service was very good and attentive. For starters I ordered the tiger king prawns. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavour. For mains ordered the prawn and squid noodles. This was also very tasty and the seafood tasted fresh. Finally for dessert I ordered the apple crumble which was my favourite course. 100% recommend coming to this restaurant which is often overlooked by tourists.
I had dinner with my brother and I would highly recommend this place.
They have a wide range of very tasty Asian dishes.
From starters to mains with succulent deserts and banging cocktails; it's definitely the place to go for a foodie!
Great service and friendly staff on top of it all!
Cocktails are really amazing!!!

Dining at Straits Kitchen in London was an absolute delight! First and foremost, the soft-shell crab was a real treat, tantalisingly fresh with a hint of sweetness. The prawns were impeccably cooked, succulent and tender to the bite. The lobster laksa was a triumph, with its rich coconut broth paired brilliantly with the fresh lobster meat, each spoonful oozing with Southeast Asian flavours.
But the pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the Hainanese chicken rice. The chicken was perfectly tender, and the rice was aromatic without being overly greasy, truly evoking fond memories of meals in Singapore. The appetiser platter showcased a fantastic array of treats, each one moreish in its own right.
To round off the evening, the apple dessert was the perfect endnote, sweet without being cloying.
All in all, Straits Kitchen offers a veritable gastronomic journey to Singapore. Heartily recommended to anyone with a penchant for Southeast Asian cuisine!
Atmosphere and service were impeccable- ambience is great and so is the decor. Great views of outside and the city. For food we got the platter which was lovely, very tasteful. We also got poppadom chips which needed a sauce and the mandou bread which was nice and sweet. For mains we got the lobster laksa which was lovely but difficult to eat- the broth was really lovely as were the fish cakes. We also got the lamb with rice which was good but needed a bit more and the quantity for £40 isnt great. We also got a mocktail which was great and they have a fantastic selection to choose from. We had a discount so our overall bill was £75 but I wouldn’t say it’s worth £140.
Such a fantastic lunch at Straits Kitchen!
The food and service was excellent. In addition as my wife and I were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary, they pulled out all the stops and made us feel incredibly welcome.
Straits Kitchen at Pan Pacific was just the perfect ending to the weekend. The Sunday Roast Bottomless Brunch was just amazing and I would definitely come back. The FoH and staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was impeccable and delicious.
My lovely and sweet friend picked this place and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
A true hidden gem.
Back in Oct and menu has changed. Still good value for business lunch tho I like. Heart portion like previously.
Nice setting, I felt like being back in Singapore because of the decor and vibe. Extensive alcohol list but tad pricey and disappointed there's no Tiger beer, though there's a Lion lager. Service is top notch, really attentive, friendly and treated like a regular when it's my first visit. The lunch set is a good deal and we only ordered two-course set and we're so full. I'd recommend this place for business or friendly lunches. The ribs, pork belly, crispy duck rolls are perfectly cooked. The Hainan chicken rice is fragrant, and the soup too, the chicken is not Singapore hawker standard (which is paler in colour with smooth gelatic skin, and served on a bed of cucumbers with sesame oil sauce) but more like home cooked kampong chicken. The ketupat has the taste but not the texture, unfortunately.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Straits Kitchen Sunday Roast, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a relax and inviting ambiance, and the service provided by the staff was exceptional. I was particularly impressed with the friendly and attentive nature of the staff members, who were attentive, to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
One of the highlights of my visit was the roast section. The selection of roasted meats was outstanding, and the Hainanese Chicken was soft and tender. I couldn't help but indulge in extra servings. If you're a fan of perfectly cooked meats, the roast section at Straits Kitchen is definitely worth exploring.
However, I must admit that I was slightly disappointed with the desserts offered at Straits Kitchen. While they had a decent variety, the overall taste and quality fell short of my expectations. The desserts lacked the finesse and creativity compare to my previous experience, and they failed to leave a lasting impression. I believe there is room for improvement in this aspect of the dining experience.
Another aspect that didn't quite meet my expectations was the laksa broth. As a fan of this iconic Singaporean dish, I was assuming its consistency and authentic taste at Straits Kitchen. However, I found the laksa broth to be below par. It lacked the depth of flavour and way too much sugar. It felt rather plain and didn't deliver the burst of flavours I was hoping for.
Despite these minor setbacks, the overall experience at Straits Kitchen was still enjoyable, thanks to the excellent service and the standout roast section. The friendly staff members truly elevated the dining experience, and their attentiveness was much appreciated.
I would recommend Straits Kitchen reviews it menu and don’t let the good reputation ruin for a minor mistakes.

The best Sunday Roast in town, love the hainanese chicken and roast pork. Always leave some room for the amazing sweets
Excellent Singaporean restaurants in the heart of London. Great food, atmospheric settings and very friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended!
My second time coming to SK. FoH was extremely lovely and friendly. I got a check in call as I was running late, which was really nice. Our waiter was also lovely and topped up our prosecco. The food was lovely too. The Laksa was my fave today. Definitely a spot for special days. Thank you.
Quality food located in a convenient location.
Every dish was just perfectly seasoned, not overpowering, just extremely delicate.
Cocktails are stunning.
Worth a shot!
I was here with my friends and it was such a great experience. The ambience is lovely, with a nice view of the street. The waiting staff were super friendly and helpful with the recommendations for cocktails. We had the kitchen platter, XO rice with scallops, Jacob’s ladder curry ribs, and the 5-hour slowly cooked ribs. I enjoyed the rice so much! It was really a good place to visit. However, we expected more with a platter that cost £26. Overall enjoyed the Singaporean menu and space. Would visit again!
Arrived from the US to Liverpool Street Station and was looking forward to finding something unique London. We found a gem... Straits Kitchen.
Once there the atmosphere and service was top notch. I especially like how the greeter offered us a spot near the bar until our table was ready. Also, when our table was ready, we didn't have to do anything. The bartender brought out drinks to us and he remembered what we ordered. I believe his name was Dominic.
The shareable food options were flavorful and portion sized just right. The duck rolls were my favorite. I imagined the brick prawns to be much larger than they were, but very tasty. Lastly, I think the prices were reasonable. Definitely will visit again during my next travels to London.
Second time visit - desserts are always highly recommended! Food wise not as authentic as real Singaporean/Masian but you’ll get a kick from most of the dishes. Greens were nicely done and goes well with the mains. (Only this time) service could be better and more professional - our conversation was interrupted by the lady many times, she kept pushing us for drinks a few times which we just couldn’t drink on the day, plus we would expected less unnecessary chats (sorry). Lastly we asked to get the chilli crab take away but didn’t get anything in the end. Dinning environment was nice and relaxing.
Had a reservation for a date night dinner. We brought our dog and he was welcomed with a dog bed and water bowl. Edimilson was our sever and he was very knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered the lobster cups for starter, it was a bit disappointing (lobster with mayo on a crunchy tart). I ordered the red lantern cocktail that was devine! The sea food noodles was ok. My husband got lobster laksa the coconut broth was lovely and it was not very spicy (2 chilli's on the menu). We got the chocolate mousse dessert and the apple crumble. The chocolate mousse was very small portion but lovely mix of flavors. The apple crumble was on a sort of jello, mouse. Service was superb and food came very quick!
This is a second-to-none experience of Singaporean-Malaysian cuisine in London.
As somebody who has travelled and eaten across the 'Straits' of Malaysia and Singapore and SE and E Asia - at the streetside hawker stands, the family restaurants, the market canteens, and the fine dining members clubs - the menu here at Straits Kitchen is not only authentic but the dishes are also exceptional examples of the way that this food is supposed to taste.
The flavours here are incredibly well balanced, the menu has been thought out carefully down to the cocktails and the desserts and teas - not only was I impressed with how each dish was flavoured but the presentation and portions were just what you want. It's fancy enough but doesn't detract from the star of the dish which is the flavour.
Forget over-rich oily or bold chinese takeaway or punch you in the face noodle soups from SE Asia - these dishes are multi-dimensional across the palate in the way they've been designed and each and every one has been prepared to provide exactly what that dish represents in the 'Straits' culture. The Char Kweoy Teow is smoky, salty and has that fragrant taste you only get from a street stall, the Dim Sum options are expertly hand-crafted, savoury and point to all the flavours they should. The portions are perfectly sized to let you taste as much as you need - even if you order a lot (based on two dining) 3 x starter small plates, 3 x large main plates + desserts and tea - you'll be left with that feeling of 'I'm really really full now but that was incredible'.
The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly but with the air of professionalism that one would expect of the Pan Pacific Hotel - this is international standard hospitality. Lionie and her team were incredibly thoughtful, offering a wonderful familiarity, conveying what every hotel brand should aspire to be - it's the best welcome now so that they can say 'welcome back' the next time. I mentioned it was my partners Birthday and before I knew it her whole team had signed a card wishing her a Happy Birthday from the Straits Kitchen team! We were certainly looked after during our dinner and I look forward to seeing them all again for the next occasion.
The setting is fancy (it's exactly what you'd expect it to be for a 5* hotel in the financial district) but it's not snooty - there's no dress code - probably because it's the hotel guest's in house restaurant, but make no bones about it - it's modern and stylish with the right amount of snug and welcoming at the same time. It's certainly suitable for evening business dinner or just a Saturay afternoon catch up with a friend. The prices are above what you'd expect for supposed comparables in this area but its hand-over-fist worth it for the food alone - its also far less cramped and noisy than The Ivy City, SushiSamba and Hakkasan nearby.
I'm going to recommend this not only to my friends and my colleagues but also to other Straits food aficionados - people who want a taste of their heritage, a hi-def reminder of 'home' - if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for everyone. This restaurant hits the mark better than the first time you had roti canai on at 2AM from a street hawker in downtown Penang.
As they would say in the straits;
'That restoran? Of course, can lah đź‘Ť'
We tried out Straits Kitchen’s Asian inspired Sunday roast at the pan pacific. This is a different take to the Sunday roast and is a buffet costing £50 per person with half a bottle of Prosecco. The buffet had a large selection of Asian roast meats and the must have are the crispy pork belly, roast duck and barbecue pork. The roast chicken and the hainanese chicken were very average at best. Their shrimp laksa was tasty and full of flavour and large amounts of shrimp. This was all accompanied by a selection of vegetables, rice and summer rolls. The dessert buffet was also a great way to finish the feast. A great option for a different kind of Sunday roast in London.
