Review Denny's - London

I would recommend Denny’s to anyone who wants to go out and have an inexpensive meal. I had a free breakfast (Grand Slam) for my birthday. The food is cooked fresh and is delicious! Service was awesome as well. This Denny’s location lost a star because I saw dust near the windows and there was garbage by some of the tables.

Pros. Quick service Clean tables Food came quickly and was delicious. The servers were friendly and attentive. Cons. Some weird old Asian guy stared at me the whole meal. Not like a little glance, no no, it was like he was trying to win a staring contest. But that's not on Denny's. I love a Denny's, always have, probably always will.

We had a good breakfast experience at Dennys as a group. We were a group of 10 people. Melissa was our server and she was very kind. We’ll definitely come again.

Restaurant was one of the only places open after our drive to London. The good: The restaurant is clean, and the staff is attentive. The food was good, standard diner cuisine. I had eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. The pancakes were good, and the eggs and sausages were good. The bad: My brother in laws spoon was dirty/stained. My bacon was a tad overcooked. Overall... Good

Manager please contact me ASAP. Nov 2023 Waited 1 hour to get meal while husband finished his plate Not acceptable with overcooked rice that was paste and burger mysteriously on a gluten filled bun with slimy cucumbers. Was the kitchen staff is sleeping or did they not read the order? I did get sauce on the side. But not told I have to pay extra for saucy condiments for my burger. And I am charged 3.49 for 6 pieces of vegetables. Even Maddy (the waitress) said she would not pay for that. SEE veggie and cucumber pics. PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP Manager gave 50% but I still am pondering on my Star review. Update! Oct 2023 Great food as per usual!! Busy for a Saturday night so I would just love that they would leave extra napkins at the table for us not so clean eaters. When you ask for crispy bacon explain how crispy you like it. Eggs Benny were as expected. And we love the GF options available. Previous experience We had awesome service as soon as we were served. We just needed some more attention once meal was delivered. Like wrong bread came with burger, more refills and more napkins. This is not a deal breaker because the staff here are so friendly compared to other establishments! Plus free wifi and just off the hwy 401. And PLEASE NOTE: They have the Bacon lovers promo right now and I am a bacon lover who could not wait to try it! Bacon jam was worth the try on the side of my burger so it did not get lost in the sea of cheesiness. I you recommend this as an alternative dip for chicken fingers. You can count your money that I will be back for the maple bacon ice cream sunday! Mark my word, you will get pics with it for sure! We ordered shareable nacho the bacon burger and the cheeseburger and all were unbelievable.

We had breakfast at 10.30AM New Year's Day. It was just starting to get busy although we were seated right away. When we left an hour later there were at least 6 groups of patrons waiting. Our server - Melissa H - was great, very quick to take our order, and kept our coffee cups full! Although the place was really busy, two other servers (Debbie and I don't recall the name of the second lady) recognized us and stopped at the table to wish happy holidays and have a quick chat. That's why we enjoy Denny's!

Like always, the food is good. The staff are friendly, reliable and attentive. Jackie was so sweet and funny. And still not over chatty. It all made me happy to be here. Sorry about pic. It was so good I finished it all up.

Amy L. was absolutely outstanding her service was exceptional and he was very efficient and polite. Because of her service I will definitely be back.

Sonia was an excellent server. Polite, friendly and attentive. She was cheery and made sure everything was to my liking. The food was good. I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mixed veg. The mixed veg was basically just zucchini and one piece of broccoli, so not exactly what i would consider 'mixed'. Hence the one star off. Everything was cooked really well. The chicken wasn't dry like at some places. The strawberry smoothie was really good as well. I'll definitely be back.

The waitress Rebecca was very nice. We paid $41 for 2 plates of breakfast and 2 drinks at dinner time ( 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 toast and hash browns).. the price was definitely not worth what we received. The toast is drenched in butter so ask for the butter on the side of you don't like that. The place was clean and waitress was nice. Maybe breakfast is cheaper and more worth it in the morning. If I had to pick between the on route and this Denny's I would definitely come here for the cleanliness.

Nothing beats Denny's at a random time of day (or night). Perfect truck-stop but not-a-truck-stop atmosphere. My server Hailey is awesome!

The service was beyond excellent today as there were several people in our party as well as young children. The waitress took care of us all. The food was fantastic and everyone in our party received what they ordered. What a great breakfast out with friends thanks to this wonderful restaurant

Good food for 7am. Got the bacon burbon burger and onion rings and the All American slam. It was really good. Cindy was an amazing server. Super nice and funny and helpful. The photo is how good the food was. Nothing left :)

The Slam Burger. Great variety almost difficult to pick from the many options. Would recommend this simple burger on their menu.

Great service. Princepreet was an amazing, outstanding and outgoing sever. You should have more employees they emulate her. The cook and BOH staff did amazing with the preparation of our food. God blessed them all.

This Denny's at the en route location in London is open 24 hours. I was amazed to see that you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner at any time of day! They have burgers, sandwiches, salmon, steak, salads, and, of course, eggs and your usual breakfast items. We only waited 10 minutes for a table. Our waitress Sonia was very kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. It was decorated with just the right amount of Halloween decorations. I ordered salmon and rice with vegetables and it was delicious! I couldn't believe the price was only $18.99 plus tax. Salmon is usually very expensive. I would go here all the time if I lived in that area.

I was here with my cousin on July 28th on my way home to Toronto and I tried their tres leches and I'm glad I ordered that because it is yummy. However, it's quite big for one person. I ate most of it thoug but I couldn't finish because the plating is big plus you got bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. So if you are a big breakfast eater, go in here.

Best place to hangout, good food & ambiance. 24/7 open too. Perfect place to dine in. Skillets are the best and the desserts too. When I’m drunk and any place that I recall to go is Denny’s.

I had lunch today at Denny's in London. It's attached to a rest stop on Highbury Avenue S, just south of the 401.<br/><br/>I ordered Baked Lasagna. I love lasagna and this was just okay. The noodles were overcooked and there was too much sauce.<br/><br/>I felt like something sweet so ordered a Caramel Apple Pie Crisp. It was definitely sweet and did the trick.<br/><br/>Rabiah was my server. She was friendly and took good care of me.

I have had one bad experience here where the waiter took our order and brought us our bill before we even got our food! Was so rude I almost didn't go back however we have been back many times and it was awesome had very good service and there burgers are so good a bit pricey for food but no matter what you order it's very good! Would recommend for sure

Overpriced fast food garbage... Servers were excellent I gave it a few shots but nope we don't like it. You can tell there understaffed and overworked hats off to all you servers your doing great with what you got.

So far staff has been apt on ensuring that my experience has been pleasant including estimated wait times and current unavailable items on the menus. All staff is in uniform clean and proper. Food wait times are so far accurate. Food was served to others that came by after myself and my guest. Still waiting on our food. Slightly apologetic for the wait wait times are now overdue and slightly disappointing. 35 min wait for food. Food was slightly more then satisfactory but the service was more then satisfactory. Meal portions were larger then expected and cost was reasonable. Desert was very delightful and pleasantly cost.

Greasy, sticky surfaces. Service is OK. Food is terrible, portion is not good compare to its US stores. Denny's is not exactly the best food and this restaurant is way worse than average.

Went to Denny's mid afternoon, long after the brunch and lunch rush.  There were a few small tables and one large group.  The large groups food was coming out as we were seated and placed our drink orders.  The drinks came and we placed our order.  We decided to start with the #Pancake Puppies.  These came out in decent time and they were awesome.  These are my favourite thing at Denny's and were the main reason we decided to go, once you get them in your head all roads lead to Denny's.<br/>This is the point where Denny's started to disappoint.  My coffee and the G.F.'s pop were empty and there was no waitress to be found.  By this time the large group was putting their coats on and the rest of the place was almost empty.  In addition to this our meals were taking for ever.  We waited and waited and finally the food came out, thankfully this was also our opportunity to request refills on the drinks.<br/>As for the food:  Not all that great, it was warm at best and seemed like it had been sitting in the back for a bit until it was brought out.  I had the Lumberjack Slam.  It was okay and the G.F. had the Bacon Burger Slam.  It was also warm at best.  You can tell by the hue on the burgers sauce bellow that it had been sitting in the kitchen for a while (see attached photo).  There was also no more refills.  We sat around waiting for the bill and finally we got tired of waiting and just went up to the cashier to pay.  I over heard her and the other staff member talking about the last customers that complained about the food and service that day.  <br/>I have been to this Denny's in the past when it was slammed and received better service and better food.  It is an expensive place for breakfast comparably to other places in London, at these prices you expect more.  I may return for an order of pancake puppies because they are amazing but otherwise I will not be running back to Denny's anytime soon.

Ignored completely on my birthday; was not even busy. Worst Servers Ever.. March 19 1990 1pm<br/>Long story short, waited 20 minutes to even be seated; three servers, a manager and the lady at the till merely feet away from us, all avoided eye contact.we eventually walked out. I pointed it out to the woman at the till why we were leaving and she tried to pin it on us why didn't even get greeted. Never ever going to dennys again based on these women... it has never been great at this location but that was absolutely pathetic.

Great Hours.. The breakfast sucks, but I'll still be back there simply because it's open 24/7. The Nachos are great though.

Rip Off. This is the most expensive, pethetic breakfast I have ever had in my life, two breakfast $35 dollars. The breakfast came with 2 eggs a spoonful of hashbrowns and 1 peice of ham.<br/>If you have never been to Deny's do not go, this is a total rip off by Deny's and they should be ashamed for stealing peoples hard earned money

Wonderful!. We were seated promptly, server arrived within seconds to take our drink orders, food came quickly and was AWESOME and priced super cheap. They have a lot of different/unique food items and are open 24 hours so I will definitely be back!!

The server lost our order and was serving people befor us and took her 20mins to realize that the order had been lost. Then she said she would rush our order and keeper serving other pepole food that got there 30mins after us. Verry verry disappoint and we ended up walking out. We will ever go back again.

First off, service was ok. It was busy so we waited 30 minutes for our food. Food tasted bland. We ordered the ultimate omelette and the cheesy sampler. Wouldn't hurt to throw on some spices and give the food some flavour.

Never Again!!!. Sorry if this turns into a rant...however...never have I experienced such poor service, poor food with outrageous prices. <br/>1. Coffee - $2.49 a cup - comprable to one of the cheaper brans of shellac<br/>2. Soup - $8.00 a bowl - looked nice but not what one would call hot<br/>3. Chicken Fried Steak - OMG - what the hell was the white stuff on the top??????????????????? They listed it as gravy - but as a preschool teacher I have made this numerous times but I call it paste!!!<br/>4. Waitress - After she had lightly tossed our meal on the table, she spent most of her time chatting up male customer behind us<br/>5. Cashier - While waiting to pay our bill, the manager ordered the cashier to seat other people although there were several other people in line to pay<br/><br/>The only thing that I did like about Dennys was the door leading to the parking lot.

This Dennys is going through a LOT of growing pains with it being a new restaurant and it's inherent rules and regs. The food wasn't the greatest the first visit, better the second ... This isn't amazing or healthy food, it is cheap and filling. Will it improve in time? Probably ... But they need "better" training for their employees. Not worth the drive from the west end ... I will stick with ANGELS !

Ugggh. Denny's, the hallmark of generic food and North American gluttony. Having worked there, I can tell you their claim of "fresh ingredients" means something called "liquid egg", which comes in a big bag and gets dumped into a canister.<br/><br/>Their "famous hashbrowns" come in white milk cartons reminiscent of an army surplus store, dehydrated at first with instructions to just add water. Sausage is pre-crumbled in bags. <br/><br/>Notoriously understaffed, the service scale works on a ratio of squeezing the last bit of sanity out of every employee in order to avoid paying for the actual labor they need to meet their impossible standards.<br/><br/>And the funny thing? I'm being objective! If you're keen on paying for overpriced, average food prepared from a bag, in order to resemble a Mom and Pop diner experience, Denny's is your place! <br/><br/>If you want to experience an actual Mom and Pop Diner breakfast experience, there are lots of genuine places.<br/><br/>Don't say I didn't warn you!

Words can't describe. Worst breakfast restaurant in the city, hands down. I really dislike saying something like that, but my terrible experience and disgusting food has led me to this. Nothing but really greasy food...all around. Portions were o.k. if you could swallow it all. Sausage was beyond gross...I don't even know what it was to be honest with you. Many other people around us complaining about wait times and quality of food. Nevertheless, it was busy as all hell, line up out the door for a very long time. People just love their greasy spoon I guess. I for one will drive the extra 10 minutes and go to a diner somewhere in the East end...they know how to make it work and always worth the wait!!

On the fence. I've been here twice - the first time I went the food was good, service was slow but they were only open for a couple of days so it was understandable. The waitress was still apologetic and did her best.<br/>The second time we went, the service was meidocre, the food was very dry. <br/>The location is horrible if you live in North London, and the prices are just way too much for me to go back again.

It's OK. I was so happy to see that we finally had a Denny's in London. When I went though I found that the portions are smaller than the portions in the U.S and the other Ontario locations. I called head office about this and had to leave a message. They never called back. When I brought it to the managers attention he offered to bring more food. I told him that that would not solve my concern. The next time I went I found the portions to still be small. Nothing changed. I also find that the customer service is lacking. You can wait quite awhile to be seated even though you are the only one in line and there are only a few patrons in the restaruant. After you get seated the service is still very slow. i can't believe the difference in this Denny's compared to the oter Ontario and US locations.

Two visits. I've been twice for late night breakfast food. The service is pretty terrible, our first server actually told us working night shift was like being on mushrooms again, and admitted to forgetting a part of my order but told me "it's okay you didn't want it anyways!" before walking away, and definitely spit when she talked. But other than that, the breakfast was good and I got a lot of food for 9.99 so I was happy. <br/><br/>Just keep in mind you're at a truck stop and the servers likely dropped out of high school and you will be fine.

3rd Strike, and they are out!. We went for lunch, not long after they opened, the service was bad, super slow, the food was cold. I thought, well maybe since it just opened, it'll get better.....2nd visit wasn't any better service wise.., but the hamburger was good! So yesterday, we decided to try it again...the worst of all! I had to send my food back, the chicken was like they just took it from the cooler, my fries wern't much better, the person with me ate his meal while waiting for his toast...toast?? how long does it take to cook toast?? His ham was awful, he couldn't eat it.<br/>The manager did come to see us, telling us that it was very busy, and he was sorry...the place was half empty (no really it was) So in the end, we got our food for free, used up more than a hour and a half of my life that I'll never get back...and neither will I.<br/>What a disappointment!!

Terrible.. Worst service I have ever seen, food took an hour to arrive at our table, portions were so small that I left hungry, and not to mention it is ridiculously overpriced! $11.99 for breakfast? no thanks, I will avoid like the plague.
