Review Malibu Restaurant - London

One of my favourite breakfast places in London! Food is solid. Love their French toast and hashbrowns. One of the few places that cook hashbrowns on the grill. Food is always solid. Fantastic service, but I will say, not quick. Don’t expect to be in and out. But servers are always kind. Definitely a lifetime customer.

The Malibu’s food and service is always excellent. Great value for your money too. We recently went to celebrate a family member’s birthday. Cindy, the waitress, was so kind, attentive, and went over and above to make it special for everyone. We will be back soon for sure.

I go every Wednesday with my neighbour and its always amazing.. Jenn and Teri are always welcoming with a smile, and our coffee is waiting at the table. Food is quick and delicious, with a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend going here 5 star for sure

The meal with my family was top notch. First rate. Been a while since I have been there when my husband and I were dating. And my cousin still visits there from Winnipeg, with fond memories of his Dad at the Malibu. Great meal tonight!

This place is a typical, almost American-style Diner. And that is my FAVOURITE kind of place! Great menu, great food and fast service. I can see why this place has been around so long. I hadn't been in 20 years (not due to any reason that is the restaurant's doing) and it was as good as I remembered it. If you like "loveably local" home-style diner dishes with lots of variety, then you should definitely give the Malibu a shot.

Southwest Chicken Wrap and Sweet Potato Fries. Delicious!! My friend had the Panzarotti so I put that as my recommendation. Even though I reccomend what I had.

I used to come to Malibu all the time when I lived in London, I moved away and finally had a chance to come for breakfast again. Food was just as delicious as ever and the service was incredible. Cindy was a rock star, she literally read my lips from across the room as I asked my fiancé ‘I wonder if there’s hot sauce’ and brought some over! She kept us laughing the entire time :) I love Malibu!

We had the best waitress ever. She was pleasant and very accommodating. I would recommend this restaurant as a 5 star. Pricing was good, serving were large. I had to bring some home. Keep up the good work you all rock.

Always a great experience here. The food is incredible, the staff are friendly (they even remember you from previous visits) and the food is on your table in the blink of an eye. Diners like this are a staple to breakfast culture and set the bar for how mich better this style of restaurant is v.s modern ones where you leave hungry. I've been going here for years and will continue to for all of time.

Service was really slow, mind you it was very busy, but when you own a business perhaps you need to hire more staff! After all this restaurant is huge! The waitress passed our and the people beside us 7x! Anyone of those passes could have brought coffee...foods 👍🏻 so will go again.

Once at the Malibu is not enough. You will need many times to taste the full potential of a great Menu with excellent and tasty options. Coffee here is the very best in town! The people who serve you are extraordinary human beings. Truly professional and committed people who love what they do!

Went to lunch with my elderly in-laws, And they insisted on malibus. Lasagna was exquisite. The chicken fingers are real chicken My daughter loves them. I had the peameal eggs Benedict And it was exceptional

Kelsey was so pleasant and attentive. Made our delicious lunch more enjoyable.
Will definitely ask for her next time. The restaurant is so clean and the food is prepared with a freshness you don't get every where. You can visit without having to shout to the person next to you. More and more restaurants are not concerned about the atmosphere, just getting you in and out.

Had planned to go to Denny’s for my Fathers’ Day brunch. Found out it would be nearly 2 hours before we would be eating. I wanted brunch, not dinner. So we hopped in the van and headed to east London to an old favourite. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Delicious food, great prices, wonderful service. My kids said to tip well, which we did - then I wondered why we were paying for them on Fathers’ Day????

I have only been here for breakfast. Both times the special was $1 off the 2 egg breakfast. Choice of ham, sausage or bacon. Toast and home fries and even included the coffee at $6.99. And the coffee is good too. The server each time was friendly and ready to pour more coffee when we were ready. Our granddaughter thought she asked for sausage with her breakfast but when it came it had ham. We did think she said ham but the server went and got her 2 sausages anyway. Very good service.

I never thought I would be a fan of ordering spaghetti in a restaurant and I don’t normally care for meat sauce on it. But this is the best spaghetti I have ever had.
I always get the Chicken Parmigiana (comes with spaghetti). Very filling, and I usually take some home for later. I absolutely love it! ❤️

I have been going to the Malibu for almost 20 years now. They have an amazing breakfast and the pricing is very reasonable. I love there hash brown potatoes. The eggs benny is amazing there as well. The best thing about the Malibu is that it is consistent, every time I go its always the same, good. They have a great bottomless cup of coffee.
The service is fast and friendly and like others have mentioned be prepared for a wait for breakfast on the weekends.
The lunch and dinner menu is good as well. The club house sandwich is a good pick as is the fish & chips. They make their own coleslaw which comes as a side with most entrees. I do miss the Malibu cheese steak which has seemed to have disappeared from the menu.
They have a great selection of desserts too. I tried the carrot cake my last visit, amazing.

*UPDATE- Was at the Malibu for breakfast 04/30/16, the food and service was amazing as always. They have an updated breakfast menu. I tried the Malibu 2 x 4, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausages (I substituted for more bacon), home fries, toast and the choice of 2 pancakes or 2 pieces of french toast (I went with the french toast).

Not worth it!. Definitely not worth the busy breakfast hustle.. food was luke warm and not all that good.. service was okay but there's definitely better breakfast places in the area.. better than the Delmar by a bit only because their homefries are better but the Delmar has better dinners I think, more to choose from (however not very fresh..) Mary's Place is best so far out of those three. Amazing and friendly service and FRESH food! None of this frozen stuff! I think they're cheaper too! Malibu keeps raising their prices! Overall the average food and mediocre service isn't worth waiting especially with better places right down the street.. not worth it!

Malibou is tops. Love this restaurant. Food is always good, place is clean, and the staff courteous. I've been all over the world and eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world, and I'd much prefer a healthy, hearty meal to something fancy smancy...Yes, this is a "family" restaurant. To call it a "greasy spoon" (as some of the other writer's commented) is something I don't understand? Snobbery perhaps?
Spooky
It was ok. Ive been here plenty of times. It is just ok, nothing fancy just your basic diner. I usually get a clubhouse or chicken fingers from here and have never had a problem. Good place to sit and eat while waiting for an oil change up the street

Lunch specials are always good. $3.99 breakfast can't be beat. Good staff and food is made with real food.

The service sucked big time, we walked in and the waitress told us to seat our selves. After 5 mins no one came by so we grabbed our own menus, after another 5 mins stil no one came by to say hello or take a drink order. After another 4 mins we just walked out and still no one acknowledged us! This was at 10am on a Monday morning and they were NOT busy

Welcome to 1970. It's a standard greasy spoon menu that they have yet to master. If you want to feel depressed, the atmosphere and food will give it to you in spades. There are better choices.

Know what to expect.... I like to go out and eat breakfast once in a while. When I do, I prefer malibu. It's simple, plentiful, and cheap. I don't go here for good steak, because I won't get it. I don't come for the ambiance either....my dead grandma's house had more than this place does. It's simple....not very hard to figure out.

I'm afraid of what's going to happen when the older generation of people die off. Places like this will no longer exist. Our breakfast "go-to's" will be McPigs and A&W etc. etc. I'm not a fan of smashed peas, apple sauce on the side of everything, boiled turkey, no mayo on anything etc etc etc....but they have good breakfast...that should be enough to go and try it.

Go there on any day during the weekend, and see the line up to get in...might not be the best choice for lunch or dinner, but breakfast...I think it's one of the best in the city.

Enjoy these types of greasy spoons now...you'll never know when they'll be gone. Hopefully not anytime soon, but you never no.

What the Heck?. This place was pretty good a few years ago. Went in for a sandwich and fries yesterday. Got the fries ok, but the sandwich had only dried up cold meat and stale bread! NOTHING ELSE. The server looked at me and said "what, you wanted mayo or lettuce on that?" They got new management or what? Forget about it. NEVER GOING BACK.

Don't believe the hype... Not sure why everyone raves about this place, greasy breakfast that isnt so cheap, drab surroundings a dated menu. stay home for breakfast today..

Good breakfast. There's always a short wait on Saturday and Sunday mornings, however it's worth it.
The breakfast prices are good, and the taste is great
I've always found the service here to be good, nothing spectacular but it's still an enjoyable experience overall.
I would recommend!

Malibu Wonderland. Good, average, basic menu. Something for everyone and prices are fair. Staff appear somewhat awkward & out of place.
