Review Angel's Diner - London

Great family diner, the food is a step above the usual diner fare We had pork schnitzel and meatloaf, seniors portion, which came with choice of 2 sides ,the vegetables were lovely. It came with soup and a small dessert both were very delicious. They also have many specials on the menu and Saturday is Greek night. We will be going back to sample more of the menu. The service was delightful!

Been to a lot of breakfast and brunch places, these guys are really great. Server was there in a flash, took our orders. Mocha was lovely, our food was incredible. We went to upgrade our fruit boat to smoothies, which I would recommend. Should be a regular dive.

Amazing food! We went for brunch and the pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon were made to perfection. I adored our waitress and wish I had her name to give her a compliment here! We got our food quickly which was so impressive with how busy they were. Food was great, both in quality and quality. Would recommend to anyone wanting an amazing pancake and great service.

We had a great family breakfast for my sons and my birthday! The eggs Benedict skillet was amazing and full of flavor.

Good Diner Food. The Baked Mac and Cheese was great, as was the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The kids enjoyed the kid's menu. Coffee was better than average. Friendly service. I was hoping for an all day breakfast option, but I enjoyed the Dinner menu enough I'll be back to try the breakfast menu.

We had a wonderful breakfast. The service was awesome, our waitress was very good 👍 Our seating wasn't the best by the door, loud and cold every time someone came or left. The food was priced well.

I had the montreal smoked meat clubhouse, fries and gravy delivered and it was still warm and was delicious. I go there frequently and whether breakfast or dinner, it is always delicious.

I was there for breakfast on the 27th. The waitress came and took my order eggs well done home fries bacon coffee rye toast water. The water came as did my one and only coffee. It came the eggs were fine the home fries were not well done. I was never told that coffee would be an extra charge as rye toast was also. I was never asked if I wanted a refill or top up for coffee. The bill came and the coffee was $2;09 FOR ONE CUP NO REFILL $.25 for rye toast not too bad but should have been informed . I for one will never go there again. This was my 4th time there and 3 of those times I was unsatisfied. I was there a while ago and ordered fish and chips which were the worse I have ever had. the batter was not cooked . Very gummy and chewy. Couldn't finish it. My table for breakfast was #34 time was 10:30 ish. NEVER AGAIN. Roland Lafond

We go to Angels often because we know it will always be a good meal & a heaping plate.
It doesn't matter if you go for the fresh homemade breakfasts which they offer vast options from omelettes to crepes & everything in between, or my son's birthday dinner @ 50% off because we have the VIP member card. SIGN UP!!!
My son usually gets the homemade chicken nuggets (AMAZING) & never finishes the plate, it's stacked so high & so delicious. The nuggets are battered in house fresh! The burgers are great, salads amazing. I've never had a bad meal.
It can be quite busy & it is a diner atmospheres, hence the name "Angels Diner". So for those who are complaining about the lack of ambience.... You went to a DINER! It can get kind of noisy.
I do agree with some of the others about the service. It's hit & miss & that's why only a 4.5/5. But, it is a diner & not a roadhouse or fine dinning, so I keep in mind. Also, busy diners are hard, gruelling work & not everyone can hack it.
This has no reflection on management. I've spoken with the owner & she seems fantastic & very hands on.

This was a pretty good outing. Took my 5-yr-old son for dinner. Online menu said kid's burger and fries but that was not on the "just changed" in house menu so he had to have hot dog instead. Pretty basic but huge bun so waste of bread. Fries were good until cold, then not so good (so eat them hot!). I had perogies to start and they were good (no fried onions for me though). Good size/amount too for an appetizer. For main I had the vegetarian wrap with house salad & house dressing. Wrap was surprisingly good! Would get again. The salad, not so much. One cherry tomato, one chunk of cucumber, tons of lettuce, few slivers of carrots on bottom. I know it was a side but still - give me some veggies!! I'd come back to try breakfast. I read some reviews and they said service was bad (don't know dates) but was quick here (Wednesday night @ 5 pm). Worth a go if in area and want quick, diner-like experience, not too expensive. And they have Stella on tap!!

Great breakfast, can't complain about that. If you're looking for tradition eats in the morning, this is the place to go! Or if you're more into fruit and yogurt- you can come here too! Price is right, food is always made to order and the coffee is great. The main hostess, or maybe she's the owner- never in uniform but always working the floor, is one of the least personable people I have met though. Just avoid her and you'll have a great time! Wait staff is spectacular!

They Are Angel's. I would like to Thank the wonderful staff and owner for being so kind while having Breast Cancer, and chemo treatments and radiation for 2 whole years. I would go in after a Chemo treatment while I was so hungry, and the only thing that taste good was breaky. Well every time I tried to force feed myself with mouth sores these ladies where so kind to talk to me and give me such inspiration and to Top it Off I never got charged for my Breakfast. See people there truly are Angel's in this World great name for your Restaurant:) Not only that your staff and enviorment is right on the Ball and spotless. Thanks for taking care of Me all you Anglel's at Agel's and NOW I am 3 years cancer FREE!!! I truly am thankful and People go EAT and DINE at Angel's off of Belmont and Wharncliffe Rd. Cheers!!! Friday dec 19.2014. My husband and I visit your restaurant at least 2 times a month. We really enjoy your breakfast, the service has always been top notch. Today we were there for a late breakfast, food was great as always, but it was the worst service we have ever received. Being a restaurant manager myself, I was very disappointed. The server, Lorraine did not make a quality check or offer more coffee till we were done. There was approx. 3 tables in at that time and I seen 1 other server. Our server was behind the counter all the time. I really hope she noticed by the tip we left that I was not happy, my husband does not say a thing. I am very critical when it comes to the service I get. Next time we will go early in the morning, then we will get the excellent service we normally get.

Had lunch here today and had issues with both dishes. First was steak fajita wrap with hot peppers: there was no spice or hotness at all and the juice from the wrap ran out down my friends arm and splaterred with every single bite. Second dish was the rueben sandwich. Apparently they serve what is called a 'deli cut'. This means that you get a full piece if bread on bottom and a long skinny piece on top. My question to the server was how am I supposed to hold this thing?? Her reply was "ya I know, everyone complains about it". Well duh!!!! Anyways ate half and left. Won't be returning especially after paying $27.50 for 2 lunch items and waters.
Fine Diner
Service very disorganized. Have visited several times and find the meal pretty good but the service deteriorating. Our meal took over 30 minutes to prepare and when it was served most of it was cold. When we pointed it out to one waitress- not ours- she commented that it didn't look cold as she could see steam rising from one of our plates. Our waitress arrived and insisted both our meals be replaced by fresh hot meals and they did come back hot.

This is popular place and the food generally good but service has to be addressed as it is in need of refreshing. No one at the door to greet you when you arrive and leave. Many staff just standing around and not checking tables. Our meal, normally 30 minutes took over an hour. Will not go back. Lack of quality service is the death knell for any diner in a competitive market. Hope management wakes up to this as I have heard many others complain.

Food is good.....Service is a joke.. We have visited twice now. The food is good, no question of that.
Service the first time, waitress dropped a glass of water on my foot, never did clean it up, someones order came to our table, (not ours), repeatedly clarified who got what bill and still gave us the wrong bill. Put our dessert charges on our friends bill, and then it was still mixed up at check out time.
Second visit, Our Server couldn't remember to bring silverware to the table with anything she brought. Turkey had several bones in the serving. Offered that dinner at half price, screw up with the bills again..We asked for our bill and never did get it, finally went up to pay and waited 10 minutes while they figured it out. I can't wait to go back for a 3rd visit, just to see what they will do next time.

Impressive. Will be returning for sure! a very clean and friendly environment with such presentable staff. a pleasant breakfast experience to say the least. The portions are unbelievable and such reasonable prices, even the presentation on the plates is impressive! My wife ordered the sunrise sensation,my son and his friend the temptation and myself a skillet. With such a welcoming atmosphere, amazing food&service and great prices, this place is like no other.

No Service. Waited 17 mins was not acknowledged that we were even there. Behind the counter four waitresses chatting,
laughing ignoring customers. Two tables only with customers. We got up and left and were followed to the door
saying "please stay", we couldn't wait any longer as one of our party was a diabetic and had to eat quickly.
We asked to have the owner call us as she knows us well and we have never received a call.
We don't plan on returning........Unfortunately Ted and Jean

Now charges for coffees for Breakfasts. Angels use to include coffee with most of their breakfast meals, including the Classic and Sunrise Sensation. Now with their new menu, they still serve the same breakfasts but charge now for coffee. ($1.99)

That's what made them a bit unique, but now they are just like any other diner.

Good breakfast place.. My wife and I had breakfast there today and everything was perfect. Wife had eggs Benedict and I had a bacon and cheese omelet. Both were very good. Wifes came with a large size fruit bowl, all fresh with good variety. Mine was huge and had tasty homefries on the side. Apparently you can get either fried or grilled potatoes - get the grilled version, they're much better.
Quick, happy and polite staff.
I'd go again.

Great family restaurant!. Good food, huge portions and friendly staff. Only problem is the waiting. The prices are very fair as well.

Curly joe. I may have to learn how to complain,I feel so alone not having anything too negative to say.
I frequently use this restaurant alone or with my kids and their families and we are always very satisfied with the food, service and price.Occasionally service may be a bit slower than anticipated but taking everything in to account it is one heck of a lot better than the fast food joints springing up all over the city,I know what choice I would make every time.

I had the steak and eggs there for breakfast, amazing portion great food, only thing is they don't cook steak well both my girlfriend and I had steak and eggs medium rare and it was more like medium to well done. I have had steak and eggs there two times same situation with the steak but otherwise love the place and the food!

Bad Food. I went to Angel's yesterday and was served by a very nice waitress. I ordered the soup of the day "Navy Bean" and a cheese and bacon sandwich. I asked the waitress what kind of cheese they used and she said cheddar. The soup came first. It was a browny-beige color with a lot of barley in it, NO BEANS. The sandwich came and there was a SPOT of cheese on one of the halves. I had intestinal pains intil the next day and a horrible taste in my mouth. I believe the soup was laden with MSG. I was also very thirsty. I don't know what has happened to this restaurant. The food used to be so good and fresh. The waitress was very sorry when I brought the aforementioned problems "no beans" and "no cheese" , to her attention. IDK what happened there in the last few months. I used to enjoy Angel's and the food was great. I think there is a new manager and new cook or cooks. Anyways, do not waste your time or money. Terrible food!!!

Ive been there more than once. Great food! Dinner is amazing cheap and huge portions! What I dont like is the floor manager and how shes always yelling att the staff. She came to my table and asked how everything was and I said good. She then asked why I didnt finish and before I could say I was full she stole my food from the table in a hostile way and threw it out then came back with a new one. When I said didnt want it I was full she made my meal free.. talk about over reacting. The worst part is my server got yelled at for nothing. And sounded like I ruined a bunch of peoples night..never going back until they replace that very rude floor manager.

Just OK. Friends had been recommending this so we gave it a try.

The turkey seemed to be cut from a turkey roll and not cooked very recently. The steak was much nicer and was properly cooked although it had bones in odd places which is unusual for a NY Strip. Not terribly tender but not very tough. Tasty and nicely seasoned. The baked potato was very nice with coarse salt on the outside. The soup, described as "home style" was the same, thick base as most restaurant cream soups (which is to say not creamy) but there were lots of freshly chopped components within.

There were items we were looking forward to trying which are no longer available.

Dessert was disappointing. The cheesecake was quite dry, The pecan pie had a thick layer of some type of syrup on the top.

Nice service, though.

No Reservations. I think it is terrible that you do not take reservations on the weekends. We have a very special occasion coming up this Sunday, May 26th and we have people coming from out of town - there will be 10 people. I can't believe we have to wait in line for enough people to leave so that a table for 10 can be set up. I think people who make a reservation and are not there at the time booked or before ... then their reservation should be cancelled. We are frequent customers of Angels and I think it is terrible that I have to ask guests to wait in line!

Breakfast. Service was good. The breakfast was ok, but the home fries were nothing special. I have had better and for that reason, I will probably not be returning..

Bang For Your Buck. I have visited Angel's for breakfast on countless occasions and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food or the friendly staff.

The portions are incredible for the amount of money you are spending.

Great food, great service. Our family visits Angels regularly. Staff are very friendly. Even when they are VERY busy the service is good. A number of our friends have bacome regulars due to our recommendations. Good value for the price. Always go back.

Good breakfast.. Went here recently with my parents who were visiting from out of town. We decided to have breakfast there. Breakfast was decent. Service was just fine. I'd go back again.

Prices Don't match the Food. Fairly high prices on average for average food. My Monte Cristo sandwich had one single thin slice of ham and the fries were not home made, they were frozen so I don't see what all the fuss is about and I certainly don't see what is so special to deserve such prices. Won't be back.
Louise
What a feast!. Excellent customer service!
100% home made!(no boxes or frozen here)
Had a chicken ceasar salad, with delicious home made dressing, real bacon bits, real croutons!
I will be back!

Angels is amazingly close to my home but I would drive across the city to eat there! The staff is amazing and friendly and take care of their customers as if they were family. Food is great and portions HUGE ... And their smoked meat is decadent! I'd heard that service is slower on weekends but have not found that to be true myself!

Bad food bad diner. My friends and I went to Angels for a breakfast. The service was horrible, we waited atleast 15min for our drinks and about 10minutes to even be acknowledged in the first place. It was not overwhelmingly busy, there was no need to be waiting for as long as we did.
Once we finally were able to order, the waitress brought 1 wrong dish, and the rest of the food was -yes diner food-I realize that, but it was awful! We were never offered a refill on any of our drinks.

Overall this was a horrible experience and we will not be returning again.

It is what it is.... A diner. Great Rubens, bug servings & reasonably priced. Decor & staff ok.

Terrible service ruins a meal. Ate at Angel's tonight after checking the reviews here and their website. I admit it was a Friday night, after 6pm but still I did not expect to be there for over 2 hours. First, it was not a diner as I had expected from looking at the website. The food was okay for the price, portions generous but nothing out of the ordinary. The service was terrible and the food took forever to get to us. Our waitress did the MIA routine - she never did come back during the meal to offer refills, only asked how our food was as soon as it was brought out (almost an hour since we ordered) and took 20 minutes to settle the bill. Definitely will not try again.
