Review The Bungalow Neighbourhood Hub - London

The Early Bird is a great restaurant in downtown London for Breakfast or brunch. I did not know what to expect, but place was great. Decor is fun (to say the least) and very casual and the atmosphere is fun and easy going. Can't say enough about the decor, your first visit here will be a lot of fun. Food is great!!! Some unique menu items that you will not find in most breakfast places and executed very well. I had the cuban sandwich which was excellent and so was the mushroom toast. Place is very popular and not very big, so you are asked to wait outside before your table is ready.. which is not ideal when its raining, but worth it. Service was good, food was delicious, prices are a bit on high side, but food is definitely worth it. Many more items on the menu that I will try on my next visit for sure.

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Had the croque madame special, it was delicious. The homemade duck bacon was a great addition to the mushroom toast. Turducken sandwich was decent. The music was a little loud but it fit the atmosphere. Having to wait outside was fine, but it would be nice for a bell or something to let them know you're there. Have gone a few times, enjoyed it each time.

The food was really good. Had their avocado Benny and chicken waffle. They both are nice. Chicken had a bit of oil on it but it was moist and delicious so extra oil can be forgiven for sure. I don’t like potatoes that much personally so I can’t comment on home fries. Other than that ambience was good. I shall come back for sure

A cool place to have breakfast in downtown London. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. It was busy but the tables turned over quickly.

The Early Bird Surprised me in the best way possible, by having amazing food! The pancakes were thick and fluffy, the bacon was thick and crispy. This was worth every penny! I got the stacker, and would highly recommend to anyone wanting some sweet and salty.

5 Stars across the board! Just relocated back to London and came across this gem! Incredible menus, breakfast to dinner, flavours to quantity you won't be disappointed. Pictured are the breakfast burrito and the "fat Elvis" French toast. Amazing!!

People talk about The Early Bird. It has over a thousand reviews and a decent rating…, but does it live up to all the hype? The pricing isn’t overly expensive. Their food is creative and unique; they put their own spin on classic dishes and even invented some! They serve a delicious eggs Benedict with avocado and tomato. And they serve a dish called the Fat Elvis that has peanut butter, French toast, bacon, and deep fried bananas. The atmosphere is fun, stylish and casual. The walls are decorated with pop culture references accompanied by fitting music. This restaurant is great. It should be high on your list because it offers tasty food and appealing ambience. One of the best in London!

Just great. Arrived in Canada a few days ago. Locals recommended this place so took the family here this morning for breakfast. A great sign when there is a Q outside before opening! We had a range of breakfasts for adults and kids and all was really well prepared and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Only snag was we only ordered one pancake between the lot of us and that was so good we’ll have to go back for more.

Love, love, love The Early Bird. There is so much to love about the early Bird. Located on Talbot Street just South of the The Covent Garden Market Bld. It is a great diner. First: Easy parking. Second: Great service. Third: Awesome food. Our server was plain awesome. They start serving lunch a bit early which worked out great for us. Coffee was great. Portions are huge and likely you will take some food home. Highly recommend.

One of my fav places to go in London. They are always playing classics on the TV, and the decor is cool. The food was delicious as always and good portion sizes. The staff members are always super friendly and informative. Would highly recommend.

Great spot and a must try. They have great breakfast and the gentleman at the bar serving us was fantastic. Definitely a cool atmosphere but you might want to call ahead to get on the list to avoid a decent wait time. The only thing that wasn’t perfect were the home fries could have been cooked a little longer as most of them were still a little hard on the inside. Not a big deal though. I’ve been here a few times and ordered out a few and will definitely be back!

Great breakfast place! The hostess at the door was super nice and accommodating, and our waitress Dylan (spelling?) was even better. The avacado toast and pancakes were delicious and the presentation was really fun. The food was so fresh and everything tasted yummy. The kids loved their classic breakfast. Good portion sizes. Overall great service and friendly staff, good eccentric decor, and excellent food quality. Will be coming here again!

This place is the place for breakfast in London. Friendly staff and great food! One of the best playlists I’ve ever come across at a breakfast stop ever. Well worth a visit!

I got a yummy brunch place for those who are in London, ON!! The Early Bird is located in downtown London and serve different types of brunch items like egg benny, waffles and sandwiches ✨ I think they are a bar spot at night 😶‍🌫️ Their interior design really surprised me, it was very retro-like (great for pics!) This time, I got…. 🍳 Ham and Chedder Egg benny 🍳 Who could resist to eat egg benny? Their egg bennies were perfectly cooked and with the ham and cheddar under it, it was the best combo! 🥰 I was in love with the sauce 🫣 the potato’s were not soft but very crispy and crunchy so if you like crunchiness then this is for you 🤓 🧇Chicken Waffle 🧇 If you like both sweet and savoury flavours in a dish, this is for you! The chicken on top of the waffle is deep fried and seasoned with maple syrup! (Could also be honey 🍯) Both dishes are very filling, I was full after the meal and was still full at night! 😆 I will definitely come back for more! Thank you for the yummy food and great hospitality! ✨💗

First heard of this place from a "You Gotta Eat Here" episode, and had The Burger. The food is mostly made in house, high quality and so, so delicious. Get something smoked (pulled pork was amazing) but really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The Reuben sandwich is one of my favorites Been back many times since!

Breakfast on steroids! Couldn’t finish it all. Had the Eggs Benedict and it was just the right amount, the Pancake Stacker was ridiculous, the Fat Elvis will add to your waistline. The flavors….can’t say any more. Give them a try. Only complaint, the bottomless coffee.…you can do better. First come first served….there was a line up when we went but it didn’t take too long.

Stopped in with some friends while visiting London. Really fun atmosphere with great music. The food was delicious - pumpkin baos were a delicious treat for the end. Really enjoyed. I had the Bird BLT which was incredible, and the rest of our crew had varying eggs Benny which they said was amazing. Cool twists on classic meals 💕Thank you very much!

Love the food there! Staff are friendly, service is great. My favorite brunch spot!

Very nice place in London, of the few restaurants that I think are worth going, with friends I went we ordered avocado toast among other dishes, warm costumer attention.
The Hungry Nomads
One of the finest burgers I've ever had!<br/>Set foot into this place for a get-together, and this place was PACKED on a weekday evening. It took us quite a while to find a table, but the waiters were patient enough to endure the rush. We ordered Fish Tacos, Custom Pizza, Sweet Potato Fires and the Mushroom Veggie Burger! Every item was good, but my picks are the Sweet potato fries and the Burger! <br/>The service was good and would return for sure.

food taste is quite okay but the ambiance is perfect, its clean and calm.<br/>service is perfectly fine. overall loved being there.will recommend others

Ate here several years ago under a different name. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Beer selection was great and the food was excellent. Will definitely return.

2018/08/01<br/>I was doing an assignment in London for a few days, and The Bungalow showed up on the Zomato app as a popular place, so I headed there for dinner one evening. This is one of those restaurants that violates the principle of location being so important. The Bungalow is in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, and there aren’t any other businesses for several blocks. The small parking lot was full, as was the main floor of the restaurant (unless I wanted to sit at the bar). Fortunately they have a second floor, which was not completely full. <br/><br/>While they do have a reasonably large menu, it appears that they are best known for their gourmet burgers. You can build your own burger, starting with one of the following patties: beef, lamb, turkey, wild boar, buffalo, tuna, salmon, portobello. Pick from one of ten cheeses, and six bun options. There are additional meat toppings also available. Or you can choose from one of their eleven signature burgers ($14.99-$15.99), which come with one side. There are 18 sides, six of which are no additional cost. <br/><br/>I picked the Nicky-John Burger, which was created by John on an episode of “You Gotta Eat Here”. A juicy lamb patty, with creamy, salty goat cheese and tzatziki, peppery arugula, onions and roasted red peppers, on a fresh sesame bun. Each bite was mouth-watering. <br/><br/>For my side I upgraded to the Onion Rings. There were at least six large rings, with lots of crispy batter and lots of sweet, soft onion. One of the better sets of rings that I have had in a while. <br/><br/>Service was pleasant and friendly.<br/> <br/><br/>Visited again 2018/11/18, this time with SWMBO. She had the Hawaiian Pizza (with Pulled Pork), which she liked very much. I had the Wild Boar Burger. It was a bit dry, but had lots of flavour.

I dined with my son we both agreed, Cassandra our waitress was friendly, helpful and prompt 5/5. The atmosphere pub,/restaurant we had different views son gave it a 4/5 (pub feel) I thought it needed some paint 3/5. The burgers where good 3.5/5 sides where disappointing fries n Caesar.

What makes the burgers awesome is the unlimited free toppings.<br/> You want jalapeño cilantro on your burger? Sure! Sliced chorizo? No problem! <br/>And their tater tots are fantastic. They're not like your average cafeteria taters, the hopped onion and aren't greasy at all and staff are so helpful.<br/>Had a wonderful burger night

My fiancé and I just moved to London and we love this spot. The build your own burger option is fun and delicious. Considering you get your choice of party, bun, cheese, one additional meat and unlimited toppings the price is incredibly reasonable. We’re going again tonight for what I’m sure will be another amazing meal!

I often like to try odd combinations and flavours, so I really like all their burgers options. I've been here twice now, and gotten a fairly interesting burger each time.<br/>I can't remember what I got the first time, but most recently it was: beef, on a pretzel bun, with gruyere cheese, jalapeno-cilantro aioli, roasted garlic, and fresh basil. Admittedly, that's a lot of very strong flavours so I couldn't taste the beef much, but that's my fault more than the restaurant.<br/>If you like unique burgers and you're tired of places like the works, definitely go here.
Saurabh Chowdhry
Food was really good! The grilled salmon was great, and the burger were also really well made. As for the sides, the sweet potato fries and the Caesar salad were great, but the potato fries were disappointing at best. Would come here again no doubt, wouldn't get the fries though.

I have been going to the Bungalow for years, finally brought the camera to take some pics and write a review.  I usually come when I am craving a burger or want to show someone new a great spot to grab a burger mind you I have had the club house sandwich in the past.  The Caesar salad is my go to side dish when I am not craving the onion rings which are 'bomb' as well.  They have a pretty good selection of draft beers as well.  I had a Forked River Weendigo Stout which was great and local.  <br/>The cool thing about the Bungalow is you can build your own burger and you don't have to pay extra for toppings (except for extra cheese or meat) which is not the case at some of the competition.  If the kitchen isn't to busy you can even order a fried egg to top your burger with for a little extra.  Creating your own burger can be a bit of a downfall sometimes depending on your bun/topping selection which may result in a sloppy burger but you can really only blame yourself as you are the one that created it.  The other great thing is they have a selection of burger/topping combinations if you don't feel like creating your own masterpiece.<br/>The Bungalow has a warm atmosphere, the service is usually really good.  Like other reviewers have indicated it can get a little hectic in there when its busy, its tight in there and I could see peoples frustrations with waiting at the bar for a table to open up.  The kitchen can also get a little backed up when its busy too but if you came for fast food you picked the wrong establishment, great food takes time.

Went to Bungalow today, it was one of my favourite burger places...unfortunately, not anymore.<br/>I asked for my burger to be well done and the waitress informed me that to have it well done the restaurant charges $1.50. I have never heard of any restaurant charging extra to have your meat cooked. I deducted $1.50 from what I would tip the waitress to counteract the rip off from the restaurant policy. This was not fair to the waitress because she did a good job but I also was not going to eat the cost of having my food cooked, no matter how little the charge.

My oldest son and mines fave date spot. He gets the fish.. Super greasy but he likes it and there's enough there for 2!!! I get a burger ... there's like a million options you can do!! All in a nice atmosphere great portion size great taste fair price for what you get. It just gets super busy need more staff

One of the best places in London to eat. Come on an empty stomach and you'll leave needing someone with a wheelbarrow to push you out! They have customizable burgers. You can choose One of 6-7 Buns, One of 6-7 Patties, (Wild Boar, Turkey, Chicken, Beef etc) and One of 6-7 Cheeses! They have about 40 toppings, and all toppings are free! Including Smoker Bacon and Spicy Chorizo! The service have always been great! They have other great menu items like the Fish and chips and interesting sides like Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potato Fries and Cheddar Habanero Soup! Definitely worth checking out!

This review is from about 6 months ago and I have been meaning to write it.....Food is underwhelming and the bartender service is terrible. We waited to have a seat in the restaurant and then settled for the bar after about a 20min wait. Problem is that the male younger bartender ignored us after being seated...Once we finally were able to order, our appetizers came out (lettuce wraps) and it was absolutely the WORST food I have ever been served. Limp, soggy Boston bib lettuce with chunks of dirt still on the leaf. Not one, but all leaves...the whole dirty lettuce bowl! After losing our appetite and pointing it out to our inattentive bar tender, we left. 2 pints, one disgusting app and a $42 bill. No apologies given (he said it grows in dirt and it comes that way) lol....but plenty of excuses and zero discount. Used to love going there but not anymore! Too many great places to spend money at that have parking as well. Will not be back.

Fabulous, worth the wait. Mmmm! What a variety of burgers. Full bar service while you wait. A fun place to enjoy a few cocktails and good fresh food.

When I was told this place makes great burgers I didn't fully understand until I actually ordered one myself. It's not really that hard to grill a patty, so what makes their burgers awesome are the unlimited free toppings. You want jalapeño cilantro aioli on your burger? Sure! Sliced chorizo? No problem! And their tater tots are fantastic. They're not like your average cafeteria taters, they've got chopped onion and aren't greasy at all (at least not excessively). $14 for a buffalo burger and fries is pretty good, although I wouldn't pay the extra .99 for the Rosemary fries (they weren't that special). Go here if you want an outstanding burger that isn't from the Works.

I read reviews on Zomato and decided to go visit Bungalow for the wild boar burger. And was I pleasantly surprised by the quality of the burger. <br/><br/>The best burger I've had since moving to Canada and the sides were also fresh and filling. <br/><br/>We also ordered calamari for apps and the portion was good enough for 6 of us to enjoy without bothering to order another one. <br/><br/>The ambiance of bungalow is amazing, they have parking and the service is quick. I would want to go there again and eat more stuff on the menu, try out the bar as well so that I can give it some more points.<br/>

Saw this on the show you gotta eat here.<br/><br/>My God this is the best burger I've had and I've eaten at a lot of the gastropubs and better burger places in Ontario.<br/><br/>This burger is worth the drive from Toronto and I make it a point of getting a Buffalo burger made my own way everytime I come through London. The main thing I love is that they have a lot of gourmet toppings, and you can add as many as you on want for one price. The atmosphere is great.<br/><br/>Go here if you are looking for a phenomenal burger.

From Old South but this is my favourite spot in the north end. Good food, good beer, good service. Small place where it is common to wait for a table, but quite often the wait is worth it. Can get pricey after you start ordering beers, but that goes for every place worth taking the time to review. Looking forward to my next visit.

An okay meal, but nothing more. QUICK REVIEW<br/> Food 5/10 - Edible but McDonalds burgers and fries taste MUCH better<br/> Service 6/10 - Polite, but slow and not taking proper care of customers<br/> Atmosphere 9/10 - I fell in love with the look of the place<br/> Price 3/10 - Overpriced for the quality and lack of seasoning<br/> Recommended? No<br/><br/>FULL REVIEW<br/><br/>We went here because several friends recommended the place to us. They said it was known for its burgers. The atmosphere and look, both inside and out, is very nice. I was excited when we drove up and then excited again when we stepped inside. The waitress was very polite. She smiled often and seemed friendly. There was a patio to eat on as well, though we decided to eat inside at one of the booths. There were many different types of meat to choose from for the burgers: beef, turkey, boar, buffalo, and more. We decided on a beef burger and a buffalo burger.<br/><br/>We ordered a poutine as our appetizer and waited what felt like an unnecessarily long time for it to come out. There was plenty of cheese and gravy, they certainly weren't stingy with those. Unfortunately, neither the cheese nor the fries had any flavor at all. I had hoped that the gravy would address that but it was also very bland and unremarkable. We'd gotten a much better poutine the day before from New York Fries in the mall, and it was several dollars less. I eventually gave up and set the poutine aside in disappointment.<br/><br/>We waited for our meals to come, that also felt like it took far to long. It seemed worthwhile when the food was sat down in front of us though. Visually the food looked amazing. We both got tator tots as our sides. They were crispy but had no flavor at all. They had clearly received the same amount of seasoning that the appetizer had, which is none. The burger was large, but it wasn't juicy and lacked any sort of flavor to it at all. The buffalo burger was also flavorless and dry. We had hoped to try a dessert that we'd seen someone else get, but after being disappointed by everything thus far we decided to cut our losses and leave.<br/><br/>It was our first time eating at this restaurant and I can honestly say I've enjoyed burgers and fries from McDonalds more than I enjoyed anything we had to eat at this restaurant. And while the waitress was polite, she rarely checked up on us and never did she offer to refill our drinks. Not that refills would have saved us from an awful (and expensive) dining experience. Very slow service and not many customers. In total we paid $50 and felt like we should have paid $20 tops. Certainly not what we expected from all the hype.<br/><br/>Stick to McDonalds, don't waste your money here.

Love it!. Our family enjoys Bungalow for celebrations- it is THAT special! The lettuce wraps are the best in the city - service has always been stellar and I am a former server!

Have been to this restaurant twice last time there appeared to be Saran Wrap in my burger very disappointing
Name
Dissapointing. The service was far too slow especially given that they were not busy, although the waitress was friendly and courteous. The kitchen is likely understaffed to save money and the expense of customer service.<br/>The big issue however was the fact that the burger ordered was NOT properly cooked, nearly raw in the middle....yikes!

Great burgers horrible service. <br/>Went there for a friends birthday with a group of 10. At large tables the servers receive an automatic gratuity of 18% and once we found that out we learned why our server was so useless. <br/>Waited almost an hour before even putting our order in then waited another hour to get the food. Many orders were messed up. <br/>The burgers were delicious once we finally got them. <br/><br/>If you can handle bad service, it is worth it but <br/><br/>NOT RECOMMENDED FOR LARGE GROUPS
Emily
Disappointed. Wild boar burger was terribly dry, flavourless and tiny. I heard such great things about their burgers and was extremely let down. Deep fried pickles and service were great though.
Stv_54
What a diisapointment. Was my first time and last itme .. waited 20 min and then the horror started , the burger was small the burger was dry like chalk the waiter did not care the manager did not care we got up we left and never to go back .;. its You Gotta NOt EAT here !!!
Hsrness
Very expensive disappointment. Went there with my daughter for lunch. Two dry burned burgers with bacon, that had to be removed as it was not just burned, black and unfit for consumption, tiny small greasy appetizer, glass of water and pop, all amounting to 60 dollars. NEVER AGAIN! Anyone that would listen so far has been given my review.

Kitchen's revenge. I once worked with a chef who liked to "teach people a lesson" if they had the nerve to complain about his food. Once a chicken breast was brought back into the kitchen, because it was undercooked. I saw it, it really was. But Chef took offense. "You don't think I cook chicken long enough? Fine." He went and unearthed the microwave, and nuked that thing for 8 full minutes, tossed it back on the original plate and sent it back out.<br/><br/>Once a steak done to medium was returned, because the diner had asked for rare. "I'll show you rare!" Chef said, and the steak he sent out again was icy cold in the middle. It probably could have used a couple more minutes on the grill before it even qualified for blue rare.<br/><br/>This chef has long since retired, but I've recently eaten at The Bungalow and have reason to believe that his apprentice is alive and well, and living in London.

Great food, small restaurant. Pizzas are great... Restaurant is small and gets a bit crowded but worth it.

Very enjoyable, great service....burgers were amazing. Salads amazing. Party of 7 for a birthday and very happy with everything.

Great restaurant and pub. We are such dopes, how did we miss this restaurant for the 5 years it was open. The food was terrific, it was a beautiful day to sit on their patio. Bonus, they have free parking! Great selection of beers and wines at a good price. The service was terrific, both the hostess and server were personable and efficient. The menu was great with a very good selection to suite every taste with some unique selections such as buffalo and different lamb choices. The Black & Blue Burger was a great choice as was the Grilled Chicken, the guac had a nice little kick. Also included, a side, and the sweet & sour coleslaw was very good. It is small inside so I think in the colder weather you probably have to get there early to get seated, but we will see when we return in the winter, and return we must!!
Foodie
AMAZING!. Been here three times and twice had the same waitress - who was PHENOMINAL! (also a palm reader) Never had such great service anywhere!<br/>Food was fantastic!!! Beer was great too! <br/>Great neighborhood in London!!<br/>I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Leo
Not impressed. I came here one quiet, weekday evening and ordered the fish and chips. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the dish, just something quick to eat but the fish was completely soggy and disgusting. the fries were so incredibly salty that I couldn't even finish half of it.
Rosierd
Disappointed. Went for lunch and had the boar burger with fries. The burger was over cooked and grey. It was flavourless!! Service was not great, sat there for a good 15 mins before our waitress acknowledged that we were there. I Will not go back to this restaurant.
Mahoney_mike77
Greatest beer selection in the city and the food is awesome too!
Jason
Great service but horrible food! I had the fish and chips and my wife had a burger. The fish was soaked in grease and my wife's burger was lacking flavour. The waitress said she would talk with the manager about the food. She came back and offered a free desert but we declined. We thought they might give us a discount but they refused. Needless to say we won't be going back.

Worst Dining Experience. I have never been more disappointed with a dining experience. The server was nice but the manager is awful and made for the worst experience. Too bad because it is a nice atmosphere! As a side note, not much menu selection unless you want a burger and no body answers the phone on several occasions I have called. A lesson in guest services and customer satisfaction would do this place well.
Andrea L
I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with a side order of a ceaser salad.<br/>Normally, the bungalow has excellent food but on this occasion no.<br/>The sandwich was almost half red onion and close to a tablespoon of pepper. I only was able to eat a bite or two before throwing it out. And as for a salad, there was no dressing on it. Literally none.<br/>Worst meal I've had in a long time.
Jessica DeWitt
Boar Burger, Decent. I liked the atmosphere and the service was good, although I was there at 3pm when there were few others in the restaurant. I had the wild boar burger and onion rings. It was a bit dry and not as good as the description makes it sound, but I still enjoyed it.

Amazing build your own burgers!. Too many toppings to name!

Question. Hey everyone I have a final coming up for school and was wondering if anyone could give me some prices on Bungalows menu? Roughly how much for appetizers, entrée and dessert?<br/><br/>Your help is much appreciated!
Steve_halley
Things are Looking Up!. Today was my first visit to the Bungalow for a meal in 6 months. My last visit I waited over an hour for my meal. Today from ordering to food on the table was 14 minutes! The burger was as great as I remember. I enjoy the ambiance, I find the staff friendly and the food is usually quite good. The only issue I have ever had is how long you need to wait for food. While I live a 2 minute walk away it is quicker to drive downtown or Masonville order a meal and drive home. Hopefully the quick service today is the start of something. I will give this another chance.

Not what it used to be. We use to love the Bungalow...we live a few streets over and love having a bar/restaurant in the neighborhood. That being said, slowly over the last year, the prices have shot up, the service has gotten bad and the food is just a greasy mess. The other reviewer is right too....you will smell like a grease pit when you leave this place. It always smells fishy and again, the other reviewer is right, you smell bad enough to be embarrassed. I don't know what is going on with this place but they need to pull up their socks. It's sad because coming from the restaurant industry, you can see the tell tale signs of a place that is headed towards a disaster. They got really popular and then forgot all about what made them popular in the first place. Do yourself a favor and spend your money at one of the many other amazing restaurants in this city:)

Contact. This is not a review of the meals etc., we have not been able to get anyone on the phone and there isn't an answering machine nor is there a site to email. Attempted to make a reservation, but not being able to contact anyone, we went elsewhere. This has happened a couple of times...not happy experience.

Terrible. I went to the Bungalow last Friday evening, Jan 31st, 2014. What a terrible experience. The restaurant was filled with a cloud of greasy smoke. They put my girlfriend and I at a table upstairs, which had the atmosphere of a fast food restaurant. Our table was filthy dirty with bbq sauce stuck to it and had clearly not been cleaned in between customers. Our waitress was horrible. We each ordered a glass of wine and she brought one only and took her 10 minutes to bring the second one. When our food arrived, we did not have utensils or a napkin. We asked for the utensils so we could begin eating our food and she said she'd be right back. We then saw her handing out take out boxes to the other tables beside us, while our food sat getting cold. I could go on and on. I had the pad thai chicken salad, which was nothing more than a bowl of romaine lettuce and a few strips of chicken. It had no flavour and cost me $30.00 for the salad and one glass of wine. We were horrified by the smell on our clothes and coats when we got outside from the fog of grease in the restaurant. My coat has been air-drying outside for 2 days. It was embarrassing to meet friends afterwards at a nightclub smelling like a grease pit. I will never return and there are too many wonderful restaurants in London to waste your time at this one.
Dave
I recently ate a the bungalow and was deeply disappointed. Here is what my experience consisted of.<br/>Slow service- it was not overly busy at 7pm on a friday night. <br/>My order was a hamburger and fries with a few beverages. The burger was incredibly salty to the point that i returned my meal. Fries were below average. Serving potato ends and piecesdo is not what a customer wants to eat. <br/>I awaited a manager to visit the table to check on dissatisfied customers. No visit. Just the waitress with the bill and sorry that i was not happy with the food i ordered. Usually a manger will follow up on a complaint- not so. There is always time to follow up. Maybe this restaurant feels they don't have to and there base is solid. But then again a restaurant that treats each plate and customer with care does not need to worry about ccomplaints.
YUM-E
You Don't 'HAVE' to Eat Here But..... The reviews for this place is mixed so I was dying to see how bad/good it was. We arrived to a packed parking lot. The neighbours must hate this place as all the side streets are used for the overparking.<br/>Anyhow, inside was just as jammed as the parking lot. The tables are a little too close for comfort and with all those people in a small area IT GETS REALLY LOUD.<br/>Atmosphere aside the food was okay. Nothing WOW amazing but good. The turkey burger was juicy and super flavourful. The side salad was ho-hum. The boar burger was excellent and the fish and chips very good. The onion rings were WAY too greasy and seemed to be old.<br/>Staff was nice and the food was served up in good time.<br/>Do you have to eat here? Nope. Nothing special. And a tad over priced for just good food.
Geoff Andrew
I have nothing bad to say about the food, which is always delicious and amazing. The service is always just terrible though, I don't blame them too much. When you have so many people ordering custom burgers you can't expect a speedy order. I have been ordering takeout lately from the bungalow and am always impressed!
Cgalley
Overrated. Very poor service - not the server, she was pleasant and friendly but clearly had way too many tables. We were there an hour before we got our appetisers - luckily we had lots to talk about. The food was not good enough: I had a burger which was just OK and onion rings that were inedible, doughy and cold. Any fast-food place makes better. My daughter had a portobello burger and inedible cold fries. Husband had fish (good) and chips (cold and inedible). We had fried pickles (very good) and spring rolls (very bad) for appetisers. For a good burger and fries, reasonably fast and friendly service, go to The Works instead.

Bungalow and Gluten Free Don't Mix. Too bad they can't offer a small variety of gluten free items...even having the option for GF pizza crust<br/>We have stopped going to the Bungalow and so have a number of our friends who have chosen to be GF or are forced to for medical reasons.<br/>Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult for The Bungalow to make something available but each time I call and ask...the same response..."no and we don't intend to."

Okay Enough. Went for lunch with gf. Had wild boar and buffalo burgers, onion rings as one side and the habanero potato cheddar soup as the other. Soup was very good, even on a hot day. People at work go on and on about this place so I had to try at least once. It was okay, but definitely not as good as they all made it seem. I find it hard to believe that they have all of these "meats" in stock, let alone fresh....haha. But whatever, food was good, get to build your own burger but waiter was not helpful in assisting what would be good on a particular burger. Onion rings are heavily battered and not so good. Few tables outside, nice area. Probably over-hyped before I went but worth a go at least once.

Disappointing. We visited The Bungalow tonight with high expectations after reviewing the menu online. We arrived shortly after 6 and it was nearly full but we managed to get a table. The service was very good, no complaints about that. We ordered 2 cokes, the wild boar and buffalo burgers with rosemary fries and deep fried pickles. The drinks were flat, which we returned and received 2 more, equally as flat. The waitress did what she could but we gave up and drank water. After waiting about 30 mins we started noticing that no one had any food, even people who had been there before us. We were just about to leave when our food finally came after about 45 mins. Both burgers were extremely dry and bland. The only good thing about them was the toppings. Fries were overdone, deep fried pickles were the best part of the meal. We will definitely not be returning.

WORST period CUSTOMER SERVICE period EVER period!!!. I went to this awful place with 9 other women -- middle aged and older. One of our ladies was very old and could not take the stairs so we were forced to eat at two tables in the lower dining room. Initially we were fine with this until the heat began to sink in. It was a hot & humid day outside but inside this restaurant, it was a sauna. Our clothes stuck to us and sweat poured from our skin. The waitresses plied us with water which was great but it didn't stop the discomfort. The reason for this is that there is no partition between the dining room and the kitchen so the heat just flows in. Our food arrived and my salad was bland. I tried the "famous" mac & cheese and my mother could have made something with more flavour. Their website does not allow emails so I took it to Facebook to voice my opinion. By the next day, the posting had disappeared. So I messaged them privately....twice. A month passed and I still heard nothing. I decided to follow up one last time and call them because their Facebook wall was disabled from accepting any comments or postings; leaving patrons no choice but to call. I spoke with a very delightful male Manager who was sympathetic and kind. Then I received a call back from the owner....aka the worst human being alive. From the start of our conversation, she was rude and I'm not even sure why she bothered to call me back because she just launched into defending her poor behaviour (removing and ignoring my comments). She went on to called my complaints ridiculous, refused to apologize for ignoring my comments and deleting them from Facebook which apparently the "staff thought were ridiculous" as well. She defended EVERYTHING about her venue; including the fact that it was not barrier-free (so leave grandma or anyone in a wheelchair at home). She actually compared her parking lot to a that in a mall - asking me how I managed to park there - when I referred to the confusion many drivers (not just in my party) found with parking at the very beginning. I suggested IN/OUT signs but apparently that was the "ridiculous" part. I was shocked and disgusted with this awful woman's lack of any kind of customer service and utterly unprofessional behaviour. I continuously asked her if this was seriously how she wanted to deal with things and she continued on with her immature behaviour; telling me that she paid taxes (which had nothing to do with our conversation) and asked where I worked in the hopes of making me look like a fool. I explained that I used to work for years for The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise as Senior Tour Dining Agent so I know how things work in a PROPERLY run restaurant. This is the OWNER of the establishment! Now I understand why they don't care about their staff's well-being either when I asked the waitress that night how she could work in such heat and she shrugged and said there was nothing she could do about it. The owner of this venue should be ashamed of herself and has no business interacting with people EVER! Needless to say, no one in my party will ever set foot in this place again and I will spread the word in every way that I can of my experience with this vile person and disgusting restaurant. The Bungalow should be called The Cesspool. Seriously, people save your money for some place that actually gives a damn about their customers and their experiences. A disgrace to the food service industry.

Amazing meal !!!!! Me and.... Amazing meal !!!!!<br/><br/>Me and my boyfriend went here for a date night and we were very impressed !!!<br/><br/>Best burgers and beat Mac and cheese !

I don't understand how people continue to hype this place up or why people continue to go there. I mean the physical look of the restaurant is very nice and very inviting but the food and service just is not up to par. It seems you have to be a regular to get some friendly service. The first time I went the food was very dry, it was the Indian pizza and the crust was very dry. I had a grilled sandwich the next time, the lettuce was wilted and tomatoes green. Overall very poor quality, stale breads and old vegetables. Poor reviews from neighbours and friends. Eat at your own risk!!!!

Awesome. This place is in such a quiet location and yet you are downtown. It has a great little patio out front. I had a burger and salad which was amazing. <br/>I love this place - I would definitely go back.
Rob
Great Place after work. Two or three times a week, I stop in a the bungalow after work. The bar has a great selection of draft beers that they are always switching up. Innis and Gunn is my favorite right now. As well as they have neat selection of whiskies. I always get the pulled pork sandwich and fired pickles. It is amazing, I once asked what type of barbecue sauce they used, turns out they make their own, and it is awesome. The pickles are always crispy and the dip they serve with them has got a great kick! I will always recommend this place to anybody.
Kyle
Always Fantastic. My wife and I have been coming here for sometime now, and no matter how meny times we go it never losses it's thrill. They have the best burgers in the city hands down. I mean how meny places can you find 6-7 different types of burgers (turkey, beef, buffalo ect)? And if you not in the mood for a burger you can have pretty much anything else you fell like, steaks, flatbreads, sandwiches pastas. There is literally something for any craving. Not too long ago a show on the food network featured this restaurant and ever since then this place has been busy! But it is always worth the wait.
Tammy
Horrible Experience. Me and my boyfriend decided to try at 9pm. it wasn't that busy but it took 5 mins for the hostess to realize we were standing there waiting. we sat down cute little spot. ordered burger and pulled porked. The pop came right away the food took 25 mins. the pulled pork was good my boyfriend says. My burger was burnt black on the bottom. waited for new one more than 20 mins i got hungry and left. never again am i going there. i understand if it was really busy and the cooks had to take longer but there were barely anyone there.
Annmarie
Bunga-LOW... You DO NOT gotta eat here!. I have been to this restaurant a couple times and was satisfied until today. Me and a couple friends were raving about the food here and decided to take a couple newbies to the restaurant with us. It took the waitress (skinny, brown hair, brown eyes) 10 minutes to bring us a water and a coke, whatever, it was busy so thats understandable. But after she took our order it took another 40 minutes for a small caesar to arrive at the table. A small caesar!!? When we asked if our food would be ready soon, she nodded. It took another 20 minutes to come. I understand it might have been busy or it takes longer to make food for a table of 5 but she failed to communicate anything to our table. If she would have acknowledged the delay or taken the time to talk to us I would have been happy with the experience this evening. After all, the food was delicious. Even though she missed a couple of the burger toppings on our friends. But the service here is horrendous! I don't think the newbies will be coming back anytime soon. She could have lied to us and told us someone called in sick, there was a big table that had food put in before us, or even she forgot to put it in. Any explanation would have been helpful. I heard her complaining about how our table didn't tip as we were leaving. You have to give good service in order to get a tip. For the future, being personable and engaging the customers will increase the amount of tips you get.

A restaurant done right.. Honestly so refreshing to see a restaurant that offers fantastic quality food at reasonable prices, and DOESN'T cut corners / nickel and dime you. <br/><br/>DO NOT LET THE SCATTERED NEGATIVE REVIEWS DETER YOU. People like to complain. Give the Bungalow a try, you won't leave disappointed.
Chris
Very Impressed!. I visited The Bungalow about a month ago to catch up with an old friend of mine. Our waitress was both friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of trying their homemade beans along with their beer battered fish and chips. Both items were well made and extremely filling. The atmosphere is also rather inviting and an ideal spot to spend time with friends and family. I will be returning within the near future and cannot wait to try some new items from their well put together menu.

Best burgers, great hangout. A long time regular, and regulars treated well here. Changes have made it better. Best burgers in the city, by far. Great selection of draft beer. Great place to mingle and catch your fav. sports team on their huge TV screens.<br/>Recommended.
Doug
A good night out. Overall good experience for our group. great atmosphere and service was exeptional (we had a great waitress). i expected more from the food which was just ok. For drinks and a quick bite to eat this is a great little spot to drop into.

Great food and beer, awful service. Went with a big group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We had reservations, and were seated upstairs (notice a theme here?) <br/><br/>The food was great, lots of options, prepared well, and deliciously fresh. The beer was cold and bountiful. The meal? It took three hours. The first half of that was just waiting for our food. I will definitely be going back, but not with more than 4 people at the most. The bison burger was outstanding.
Lora
We went to the Bungalow tonight for a friends birthday. There were 8 of us and they wouldn't take a reservation. We were eventually seated upstairs. Service was super slow this visit. 1.5 hrs to get our main course. My husbands burger was overcooked, cold and missing toppings. I ordered the fish & chips: the fries were cold and the fish batter was so hard it could have been deemed a weapon! They re-made my food which came back hot, but the fish was still not that great. I give it a 5.5/10. Stick with ordering a burger and avoid the fish. One of our friends had the scallop burger and really enjoyed it. Wine & beer is always tasty :) We've eaten here many times before, but they really missed the mark this time. Cheers.
Nancy Haley
We were still pulling out of the parking lot when we all agreed never going to waste time or money going back. Service terrible-waitress very unorganized, appetizers showed up when meal done. Drinks slow to show up. Food was cold and tasteless. Fried pickles were basically fried cucumbers. Will never recommend it and will never go back.

Not returning. So disappointed... the Beer of the month on the site right now is 'Lake of Bays – Spark House Red Ale', when we arrive to the restaurant and try to order it we are told not only do they not have Lake of Bays, but the beer of the month is Molson Export.. Really?? So we order (right from the menu) the Boston Lager, nope they don't have it. Then we try Innes & Gunn, nope not in stock. In a last attempt we asked for the Grapefruit Radler.. and again a big nope. The Bungalow advertise this big selection but don't have any of it in stock... & that all in just trying to order drinks... aside from that the food is only mediocre at best. the escargot was dry the pizza plain and the burgers fairly tasteless. Sad to say we wont be returning.
Paul
Try it!. Just went to this place last week. Great menu! They have an excellent selection of burgers which makes the trip worth it right there. Loved the vibe, and the selection of beers on tap was very nice too, which makes a world of a difference for me. Service was friendly and accommodating as well. The only problem was that it took a long time to get our food, but that wasn't a huge issue for me because the vibe is great, and makes a good place to hang with friends.
Marg
Great Place!! Ignore negative reviews!. I have been to the bungalow many, many times and love it every time! I was in this week and was recommended the Pulled Pork by our server, great choice! The place was packed and we knew our server (Ann) was busy, but she did a great just finding time to chat and make us feel welcome. We will continue to go back and enjoy this great place!
Joshua Robin Westbrook
Our party of seven were refused a reservation and then it was over an hour's wait for a table. We were seated upstairs which was dimly lit and lacking in ambience. The soda was watery. The food was decent but unexceptional. Our party of seven ordered seven different meals (salads, burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips) and no one seemed overwhelmed by the food quality. Prices were okay but added up quickly when you add a side dish. Overall unexceptional.

Amazing everything! Homey atmosphere, nice staff, delicious food and some really great beer choices!! Boyfriend and I are regulars!

Brought my elderly mother out for Sunday dinner tonight. Decided to try Bungalow for the first time, we sat in the cozy little back corner. Was this place ever packed, but yet all the waitresses were running like clock work! That has to tell you something! I ordered the fish and chips, and my mother had a turkey burger with sweet potato fries. Both were absolutely delicious. Our server was also behind the bar, and although we didn't have drinks, they must have a good selection of beer because she was pouring drinks non-stop! I think I've found my new favorite restaurant. The staff is lovely and the food is amazing. We will be returning for sure.

Great, as always. I visited the Bungalow last Friday. The place was totally packed, but my food still arrived quickly and was absolutely amazing. My server was very friendly and knowledgeable — and made a great recommendation when she encouraged me to give the lamb burger a shot.<br/>I've been there a handful of times now and I'm more impressed with each and every visit. Great job.

I had lunch here for the first time recently. I loved it. <br/><br/>The atmosphere is awesome. It feels like a true neighbourhood pub/restaurant. <br/><br/>The menu was very good. Lots of choices. I had a burger, as recommended, and it was excellent. I wouldn't change anything about it, which is rare for me. I'm kind of picky. <br/><br/>They also have a great beer menu. There were several that I didn't recognize at all, but also some old reliable beers. <br/><br/>The best part of my visit was our server. I can't recall her name...sorry. She was the best server I've had in a long time. I asked for her thoughts on the food and beer and she stepped right up. She was very knowledgeable. Her recommendations were bang on. <br/><br/>Overall, this place was really great. Definitely worth a try.

Never again. Myself and 5 girlfriends decided to try the bungalow for lunch - sad to say but never again! Myself and a girlfriend split the deep fried pickles - which came out at the same time as our meal - which was about 45 minutes after we ordered. Kind of defeats the point of ordering an app - we couldn't even eat them because of the loads of grease, the breading was mush and just slipped off the pickles. Our waitress was very inattentive - we would ask for drink refills and she was gone before we could finish asking. Couldn't taste the onions in the onion rings - even after draining the grease from them. One girlfriend's order was wrong, and by the time she got her meal she had to pay the bill to go meet a client she was running late for. We all left feeling ill - GREASE seemed to be the key ingrediant in every dish and none of us finished our meals. Major lack of parking. Complete disappointment. :( We will not be returning
Moir
Really disappointed.. Visited Feb. 21/13 with 3 others. Deep fried pickles were large lumps of greasy over-cooked dough. The pickle was sliced paper-thin and undetectible to the taste. Turkey burger was so so but was way overloaded with the cranberries. Hamburgers were cooked to black but the buns were just above icebox temp. The fries were shoestrings that were cooked to dark brown and were loaded with small fragments of burnt potatoes ( I think ). Fish and chips-fish tasted good but discarded most of the batter that was cooked to dark brown.<br/> Suggestions. 1. Clean up the entrance. 2. Change the oil in the friers. 3. Instruct cooks. 4. Have qualified shift mgr. monitoring what is coming out of the kitchen, and moreso what is going back on the plates.<br/> Sorry, but we won't be returning!!
Spooky
Loved!!. Went to the Bungalow last aug for dinner for 3. We sat on the patio as it was a nice warm evening. Our waitress was kinda crabby but she was very efficent at her job. the three of us all built our own burgers and each got different sides to try. The salad was salad. The fries were super yummy, hot and fresh and we also got deep fried pickles and they were really good. i also got a banana milkshake it was tasty.. overall the burgers were all yummy and cooked properly. fresh ingredients and the pricing was the best out of the three joints

Greasy and Overcooked. We have been to the Bungalow several times and have had good experiences. Tonight unfortunately was not one of those times. We were seated in the back by the bar, to be waited on by the bartender, that should have been our first indication as to the sluggish service we were about to receive. After being given a "generous" 20 minutes to look over the menu, we decided on deep fried pickles to start, followed by two build your own burgers with fries. Sadly our pickles were drenched in oil and very very thin, while the batter was wayy too thick, very disappointing and not how we remembered them from our previous visits. Our burgers arrived half an hour later. Both our burgers lacked seasoning, something that cannot be masked by half a dozen "gourmet" toppings. My fries were also burnt ( my wife's fries were perfect, clearly they need to work on their consistency), but the kitchen along with our server seemed to think that was acceptable. I made my server aware of the problem only to receive the deer in the headlights look and the feeling that i was inconveniencing her. Poor service and poor food that we will not be returning for. Oh and i should mention that a man who appeared to be the owner was hovering around by the bar but felt no need to intervene or apologize for the sub par food and service.
James Alan
Excellent food, service & decor. Turkey burger was tasty & nicely spiced, serving staff made us feel at home and well-appointed interior. Went in out of curiosity and discovered an enjoyable Saturday afternoon dining experience.
Andie
Unimpressed!. Went there for lunch, the waitress was very nice but thats about it, the deep fried pickles, were drenched in grease, the mains took so long and the food was just sub par, the fish and chips were completely overcooked, the edges were charred on all the sandwiches, you could just tell their was no care or concern taken with the food preparation at all. Will not be going back.
Christine S
Lamb burger. Love the place!! Best lamb burger ever and fantastic choice of toppings. The onion rings are always a treat. Can't comment on appetizers or desserts because the burger is so filling!
Richard R Edginton
Great Place. First time trying the Bungalow, Loved it, Great service, Good food, had to wait thirty minutes for a table but was worth the wait. You can always tell how good the food is by how full the parking lot is. Enjoy
Bixel88
Disappointed. I really love the food at Bungalow, but it seems that about 3 of 4 times you go, you or someone you are with has an order screwed up. My friends and I like going to the "build your own" burgers. Problem is, they take a while to get, and it seems that more often than not, you get it and its wrong. Two times ago, a few people had undercooked burgers. This past time of 6 people, I dont think a single person had to correct burger toppings and/or sidedish. <br/><br/>Overall, the food quality is good. I just get tired of going and having stuff wrong. The times you ask to have it corrected, it then takes 20 minutes to get your food back and you have one person, or a couple of the group sitting with no food.

So cute! Had chicken wings .... So cute!<br/>Had chicken wings as an app and the pulled pork sandwich with rosemary fries for an entree. The pulled pork was great, saucy, sweet and smokey! Great slaw on top! <br/>Our waitress was sweet and apologetic about the loooooooong wait. It was worth it though!<br/>The only complaints? The parking (or rather, lack thereof!) and the strange glassware... Ordered a gin and 7 in a tall glass, got a gin and soda (no big deal, I'll drink to that!) but the glass was so tall and slender, it had the volume of a rocks glass and the straw didn't reach to the bottom!<br/>All in all, if return. Great food and fun vibe.
Charity
Nice place.. I been here a few times. Nice environment and staff and the food is pretty good too. I definitely will return when I'm back in the area :)
Kim
Overall Good...will return!. The service was great, even though it was a Saturday night and they were swamped. My husband said that it was the best burger ever as did my son. I had the fish and chips and it was so so...not a lot of fish...a lot of batter. Will return again but will try something other than the fish!
Lindsay_bm
Wonderful experience. We took our kids there to celebrate our son's 11th birthday, our waitress Renee, was nothing short of wonderful. She helped us pull of a surprise for the birthday boy and was super sweet to our youngest child as well. The food was delicious, although the deep fried pickles weren't the best. The restaurant was fairly busy as it was a Thursday night but our service was still great and we will certainly return. Thanks for a great experience Bungalow!
Marie
AMAZING!!! I have zero complaints about this wonderful cozy restaurant. You feel welcome right away from the great host that helps you as soon as you walk in, to the great bartender who makes an amazing cocktail and helps make you feel at home, to the wait staff who are always helpful with narrowing down all the great food choices. I have been to the Bungalow many times and have never been disappointed. Best burgers in town by far! Keep up the good work :)

Disappointment is the first word that comes to my head about The Bungalow Neighbourhood Hub. I hate leaving bad reviews, but our group faced major disappointment on a Friday night at 7pm. There was a wait for a table, which I understand would happen on a Friday, but it was so packed, there was nowhere to stand, except outside in winter time. We got seated after about 25-30 mins then took another 10 minute to have our waiter take our drink order. It was good after we got our drinks and ordered our appetizers and food, but it took the kitchen about 45 minutes to get our appetizers out to us. It was only soup, garlic bread and chicken wings. This should take 15 minutes max. Then another 30 minutes after that we got our actual food. Sadly after that, the waiter didn't even come over to check on our table and we had to tell him we wanted the bill. Very disappointed in the service and speed. The waiter in a small restaurant such as this should be by the table a lot more often than he was.
Alyssa H
Amazing! My boyfriend and I stopped in for a late dinner. Our waitress was fantastic, super attentive but never annoying (a huge pet peeve of mine). She knew what she was talking about in regards to the menu. Food was so delicious!!! So so good. We had build our own burgers with caeser salad on the side, with a extra side of sweet potato fries. My only complaint would be the restaurant is too dimly lit, it's pretty dark. We will definitely be back again!!!!!!
Dadisalwayshungry
Worth the wait!. Arrived at the Bungalow this afternoon around 12.30pm. The place was packed with lunch time diners. This would be our first time dinning here.<br/><br/>We we're given at 20 minute waiting window to be seated and we took this option, and were seated with-in 15 minutes. Once seated we waited about 5 minutes before the host came to the table to ask if we had been seen by a waitress? I told him "not yet". Our host took the beverage order. Our beverages arrived and our waitress as well. it took awhile for the food to arrive to the table, but, I knew the place was very busy and those who were seated before us were getting there meal with in 10-15 minutes. The restaurant is small and cosy and if it is busy, you need to understand it's going to take a bit longer for your order to arrive.<br/><br/>Once the food arrived it was delicious, hot and tasty, with good size portions as well. Our daughter had the make your own burger, which she said " that was the best burger I have tasted!"...my wife had " Rueben sandwich with onion rings" and I had, "beer battered fish n chips" We were all very satisfied with our lunch order and very full!!!.<br/><br/>I will return to The Bungalow again for lunch and will make an effort to try dinner sometime soon. I'm not from London On, so, this was a great surprise finding this little gem of a restaurant in a residential area!.<br/><br/>Staff are friendly and efficient, decor is nice and the place is clean and tidy!.

Disappointed. They served one burger that tasted mouldy and the other had the wrong patty on it, embarrassing! I won't go there again neither I would recommend them to anybody! Beer and Fish&Chips were ok, but not too hard to make...

Horrible service. I called this restaurant to make a reservation for our dinner party. I was told by the woman who answered the phone that they only accept reservations for parties of 8 people or more... which I was conveniently told when I stated that I wanted to make a reservation for 7 people.<br/><br/>A couple of days later I was told that another friend would be joining us. I called the restaurant to make a reservation for 8 people. I was told at that time that they charge 18% for reservations! This is simply ludicrous!<br/><br/>They should simply say that they don't accept reservations as opposed to using these insane tactics to discourage reservations.<br/><br/>Needless to say, I was not impressed, our dinner party chose to eat elsewhere, and I have not recommended this restaurant to anyone!
Keyo
Nice "homey" place. Great burgers, good service, nice ambience. Little pricey for a burger, but it's Quality food and ingredients.
Kristi
I loved the food! The service was amazing. I would definitely recommend it to friends and go again myself!
Michael
Excellent. This place is excellent- I love it. I have always disliked hamburgers but ended up having my 21st birthday dinner here because I enjoy the food so much.
The Little Red Spoon
Good menu, good beer. Really nice place, great menu and beer selection. Vegetarian, so I got the portobello burger and pickle chips. I loved those things haha (: It was really chill and our waitress was nice, I would definitely go back and recommend it.

London Urbanspooners overrating as usual. Would I come back to Bungalow's? Probably but that's only to give them a fighting chance since they will cook your burger to medium (unfortunately they won't go lower) and have a plethora of gourmet ingredients.<br/><br/>I customized my own burger. I got brioche, roasted garlic, brie, wild boar, arugula, and mayo. Why did I get roasted garlic and mayo? That's because they don't have aioli (only versions of it), which leads me to my first issue. The problem is that people assume that aioli is simply mayo. It essentially is but aioli is made with garlic and olive oil (sometimes all olive oil and sometimes only a portion). [Note: I have kept the aioli and mayo comparison brief. Do a google search to learn more.] A chef should know the difference. To name something aioli to sound fancy is absurd. <br/><br/>Second issue is the bun. I have made brioche, and I have also had incredible brioche. This was not brioche. Brioche is supposed to be rich, soft, and light. This brioche bun was the opposite. It was dry, dense and crumbly. I cried a little inside since brioche is dear to my heart. A bad bun actually ruins a burger, and my burger was ruined. <br/><br/>The onion rings weren't bad and the actual patty was decent (a little overworked, though). The Works is far better than this place. <br/><br/>I'm not sure what people are thinking by rating this place so high. I tried some food from other people but it wasn't that great. I will give this place another chance and will stick to a more classic burger to see if they can execute it properly. My biggest issue is this: if you're going to serve gourmet then execution needs to be on point. <br/><br/>Okay burger joint, probably worth a try but I'm not in a hurry to try it again.
Tom
Went to it on the recommendation by friends. Staffs took our party to take any table, but after 5 minutes no one grab us the menu, so we took it ourselves. Another 10 mins gone by no one asked us for any drinks. Our party left after 15 minutes of non-existent.
Pablo Prowse
Quaint authentic pub with high end food, friendly staff and yummy beers!. Perfect neighbourhood pub, not fair to complain about lack of parking or size of pub as this little place would be less attractive if it were bigger. Small and quaint with a emphasis on quality food, service and beverages. Southwest spring rolls and pizzas are excellent, portabella burger and fries are my favourite, wings could be improved. Unfortunately when you just get use to a particular draft beer it disappears, wish they could keep the Steigl Radler(Grapefruit beer) in stock as my wife loves it! Other than that it is a must to experience. Very friendly wait staff. Overall very impressed!<br/><br/>Cheers,

What can I say about Bungalow, there really are no words!!! Best everything of all time! My husband and I went last Saturday night.... Let me tell you that our experience was phenomenal. The bartender (pretty girl, long dark hair) had mojitos on special, needless to say they were delicious. In addition to that, ribs were on special. They were fall off the bone perfection. We frequent the Bungalow quite often, but have never had such an amazing experience like Saturday night. This place just keeps getting better and better! Keep up the amazing work.

Best Burger Of ALL Time!!. Now I've eaten a LOT of burgers in my time, but nothing prepared me for the awesomeness of The Bungalow burger that I deeply enjoyed a few days ago. Trust me when I say you can't go wrong at this place - high quality meat, an unbelievably deep selection of toppings, and outstanding value. The taste of this whopper once carefully crafted was astonishing. Add to that some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had, and an amazing waitress (Cassandra) who helped us every step of the way, and you've got yourself the best burger that I've ever had in the city of London. In fact, this might be the best burger I've ever had - period! Do yourself a favour and visit this place as soon as possible.
Bo
My husband and I went for the first one tonight as we heard great reviews-boy was that wrong! Ordered the fish ad chips, the fish was over cooked and burnt, the fries tasted like two day old rubber with salt. My husband ordered the 12 oz burger and the bun was dry and the party was even drier! Never again will we eat there! The only good thing was the water!
Cutie705
Great food!. I have been to The Bungalow numerous times, the food is good. I always get the hamburgers where you can add as many toppings from the 15 plus toppings without any extra charge. The mac and cheese is my favourite side, it's not like the boxed KD, it has a generous amount of cheese. The only downfall of this restaurant is that it is not very big, so supper time 5-7 is usually busy with up to an hour wait. I recommend going before those times, 3pm is usually the best time.

First Time Tonite. My wife and I decided to drop in on this place and check it out. If you're not there before 5:30pm,for dinner, you might have trouble getting seated-especially on a Friday or Saturday nite. The place gets incredibly crowded and noisy. It's a bit of a "neighborhood" pub w/ Western-hangout flavor. No fine dining here!<br/> Menu is interesting, but both our burgers were dry and overcooked.Surprised not to be asked how we liked 'em cooked?! Calamari good and very generous portions. Not overly expensive...50.00/for app,two burgers and two beers.<br/> As Randy Jackson would say......" just awl right for me"!! Nothing special.

Great First Experience at the Bungalow. I cannot believe I live a block away from the Bungalow and have never tried it! Definitely a hidden gem in the heart of old North. I have tried to go before but we took our car (yeah I know, from only a block away, haha I think it was winter or something, but stupid) and couldn't get a spot in the parking lot, so this time we walked over. When we came in (around 9pm) it was packed, by that I mean every seat was taken, not people standing around in front of the bar. We were lucky that a table was just clearing out and we got seated in about 2-3 minutes. We were sat in an acove of two tables to the left of the bar, probably the furthest table from the front door. We were served almost immediately, I wish I could remember the name of our server but she was busting her ass the entire night, this girl worked hard and always seemed to be in good spirits, so big props to her because that job isn't easy. I ordered the buffalo burger with a Caesar side salad and my girlfriend got the ultimate grilled cheese with a Caesar side salad. That grilled cheese was phenomenal (yeah I had a bite, hahaha) and I had never had a buffalo burger before and let me tell you, I'm a fan! The food was out fast (maybe a 10-15 minute wait?) as well. The prices are great too, I believe the most expensive entree is a $22 Ribeye, which is a pretty fair price as far as the steaks I've had go.<br/><br/>Hmm not much else I can say other than a really good experience and I'm kicking myself for not trying the Bungalow earlier. Definitely my new favorite burger joint, next time I'm going to have to try the fries!

Best Calamari in town!. My husband and i have been to many restaurants in this city, and have to say The Bungalow has the best calamari in town. <br/><br/>The menu has homey favourites with a twist. The food is well prepared and the servers are always polite and efficient. The hostess is a bit of a ditz, but that's our only complaint.

Friendly server, Great food. Went to the Bungalow on a Friday night. We were a group of ten and went after 8 pm. The place was packed but the hostess had a table set for us in the upstairs dining room. We had a great server who greeted us with a smile and was able maintain her good humour even with the rambunctiousness of a loud, crazy group. We ordered plenty of appetizers for the table to share and did not regret it. The mushroom and brie dip is amazing. And who doesn't like deep fried pickles? Around our table there were various burger combinations that everyone raved about - including the wild boar burger. When they say build your own burger, they mean it. Their "grilled cheese sandwich" is nothing like your mother's grilled cheese sandwich. You have to try this to believe it. Overall our Bungalow experience was an enjoyable night thanks to a pleasant server and great food. We'll definitely return.

Love the Place. Guido you're amazing, the food is great and the service was very very good. Friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Kudos to the cook.

Good food and service. We ate at the bar and had good food and good service We will return and hope to sit at a table

Ya, it was ok. Sweet potato fries were in a million little pieces, soggy and cold. The burger was good butan the place is noisy.

Not as good as before. This was once my favourite place to bring family and friends for dinner. The food, the service, the wine selection and the atmosphere were all top notch. I don't know what has been happening there as of late. The food is greasy...When I got my pan seared pickerel it was literally swimming in grease. I didn't send it back which was my own fault as I am sure they would have given me a new one. Everyone else in my party were also dissatisfied in their meals. <br/><br/>This is the final straw as this is about the fourth time in a row I have been there and been disappointed. I guess I kept going back hoping it would go back to being as good as it was for the first two years it was open.<br/><br/>As for the complaints about service, I have only had wonderful service here. That's the only good thing left about the place.

Slimy salad. Very disappointed with The Bungalow. We live within walking distance and were pleased when a local restaurant opened, however each time we visit we are more disappointed and after our last visit will not be returning. <br/>Earlier this week my fiancé and I arrived for an early dinner and a little celebration. From the moment we stepped in the door we were treated rudely by the male host/bartender perhaps owner. The place was not busy yet his attitude was brusque and he behaved as if we were an inconvenience. We ordered drinks and two appetizers to share. The calamari was dripping in grease and over seasoned with tons of garlic. The $10.99 Stilton and poached pear salad was riddled with slimly clumps of rotten lettuce which I removed to the side of the plate. No one came to see if everything was all right with our meal and we were left with empty drink glasses with no server attending us. We requested the bill and I pointed out my barely touched salad with the slime along the edge of the plate to the same fellow who had seated us. His response was to say he would alert kitchen and proceeded to put the bill on the table. No apology, no offer of another item and no offer to remove the salad from the bill. Not acceptable.<br/>To sum up: After more than half a dozen visits we have concluded that the food is consistently mediocre at best and overpriced, and the servers are rude and inattentive. Huge disappointment in a place just around corner, which we would like to frequent more often, but it is not to be.

Awesome. Great first time! Had 2 kids with the 6 of us. The server was VERY polite and helped as much as she could with the kids.<br/>The phone is great. Sweet potato fries--oh my!! Buffalo burger---nice work! Service was prompt and prices were fair.We will be back for sure. More then a few restaurants need to learn from this place!
Louise
The bungalow. The food here was very good. The service on the other hand was completely indifferent bordering on rude including the owner who was working on a very busy saturday afternoon. Just because a place is busy does not mean they cannot have pleasant servers - someone here doesn't care enough to make this happen!
Amy
Burgers!!. This place is awesome. Great environment and fantastic burgers. The sides are delicious...go with the mac and cheese. Cozy atmosphere and very clean. <br/>Only downside is everyone knows how good it is so it gets busy and parking is limited. Well worth the wait if it's packed.
Suemoore003
NOT CHILD FRIENDLY. Three strikes and you are out! I have enjoyed the convenience of the bungalow without children and it was ok. But the last three times I have been there with children, the servers were less than friendly and left us waiting while they waited on the tables around us. One time I waited 45 minutes to order while the table that arrived after me had already been served their food. Don't go there if you have a family. This is not the place for them.
Jon
One of thee best resturants in London. I was reading over the reviews and I totally disagree with the people who didn't like the bungalow!<br/>We eat at the bungalow at least 1-2 times a month. I think the prices are 100% fair and the food is out of this world. <br/>We normally come into the bungalow during the evening and have never had to wait longer then 15 minutes for a table.<br/> I normally have the boar burger with Mac n Cheese, or Cheddar soup, which rocks my world! I also love the pizza, which is made fresh and to order! A must have would be the Greek pizza! <br/>We try and come in on evenings that Erica or Katie are on staff as they are the best servers this side on Ontario! Both of them are very friendly, always happy and smiling and most importantly, EFFICIENT! I don't want to point any fingers to the servers that were less then semi-perfect.... But Emily could use a little cheering up....just saying. <br/> If you do go in for Lunch, don't expect to be in and out within 30 minutes, this is not fast food, and once you taste the food, you will realize that its worth waiting for!!!!!<br/>I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good service and food that taste home made! 100% hands down, my favorite restaurant in London! Keep up the good work!<br/> Can't wait to see some new items on the menu as I've pretty much tried everything.

Ate there twice recently for early (5:30) suppers and the food was good both times (fries were a bit over salted once, but that's forgivable). This is supposedly a local hangout, but there is something about the place that puts me off and doesn't make me feel like sticking around for another beer or dessert. Perhaps it was that we were there earlier in the evening and there was more of a family crowd around - the food was food enough to give it another try.

Excellent Burgers. The Bungalow caters to the university and collage community, as well as the general public, basically, anyone who enjoys an excellent burger! Their custom/unlimited toppings only add to the exceptional meats available and the buns and cheeses. Happy eating!

Great burger, had a great time... So it was friends birthday and we wanted burgers, chose between works and relish, first time there, read all the reviews. Our waitress was Stephanie was attentive and efficient, we sat outside. Drink orders taken, went with the nice Summer Ale they had on tap, we all got the build your own burger with various sides to share as well as the deep fried pickles.. I went with a variation on the black and blue and tried to do it off the build your own menu but ended up getting the blackened cajun patty instead, honestly what an awesome mess up, tasted all the other burgers and mine was the best lol... love it when that happens, plus no option for onion rings on your burger so it just worked out sweet.. everything was cooked perfect, homemade ceasar dressing, pickles were awesome and i heard the fries were good, they forgot the gravy so we were not charged.... was really busy inside so. dont forget your not the only diners here.. All and all a good evening, and around 65 bucks for 3 dinners a side and two pints, plus i think a milkshake so.. you cant beat that..<br/>going back really soon..

Took 30 Mins For Apps, Service Is Slow And Rude. Everything Goes Cold Pretty Fast Because Of The Cold Atmosphere... Everything Seemed Very Heavy And Greasy.

An Intriguing Place to Eat. Whenever I would go to the building that now houses the Bungalow, I was perpetually let down. North (the restaurant that preceeded Bungalow) was over-priced yet subpar, and unfortunately felt as though it was gleaming to a higher purpose than what the area suggests. <br/>The Bungalow is exactly what old north needs, it's a classic style pub that people can swing by for a casual drink or a full meal with family. It's not kitchy like other places, it's just how you want it: relaxed, friendly, a good reflection on the neighborhood. <br/>If you're going to the Bungalow, you need to have the burger. It's the one essential, with a list of (unlimited, key word) toppings wherein you can choose your own bun, cheese, and meat. The burgers were cooked well, and with an expansive list of sides it's really hard to go wrong. <br/>The bungalow is always packed, and with good reason, it's a great restaurant in the heart of old north. I will definately be going back, especially with the assortment of quality domestic and import beers on tap.
Paul
Totally Overrated. If this is the best Burger in London, I hate to see what the other places are like. I was in the mood for a good burger and found this site which rated "The Bungalow" number one in town. Obviously people related to the pub or people who've never had a good burger. I went in early afternoon, not too busy. Had one beer and a burger with no side (yes sides are xtra..lol) Cost me almost 18 dollars and took forever. Burger was okay, but not worth 11 dollars. This is a place for pretentious people who don't mind being taken to the cleaners.(or don't know any better)
RB
Burgers sure - but don't forget the mac & cheese!. As you'll have gathered from the other reviews, The Bungalow makes a pretty mean burger (when cooked to order and not over-done - I like my burgers medium rare). The boar burger tastes nothing like pork - give it a try. And the tuna burger is really tasty as well. Not afraid of a little bit of heat? Order the habanero soup as a side instead of the fries. Or try the smokey, cheesy decadence of the mac and cheese! Don't feel like meat? The pear and stilton salad is also a treat - dressed with an Asian style dressing with half a fresh pear, a generous helping of stilton and crunchy sweetened pecan halves - the potion is generous and won't leave you hungry. We're lucky enough to live in the neighborhood and don't have to worry about parking - a new patio being built this summer will be a welcome boost to the seating capacity.

Great Restaurant. Excellent food although some might be turned off by the large crowd and potentially long wait for a table during peak hours.<br/>Prices are reasonable, portions are large, and service was excellent (considering how busy it was).<br/><br/>I highly recommend this restaurant.
Lee Guo
Food was good but waitress was vet rude and unavailable believe name was Stephanie. Never experienced such blatant disrespect at a restaurant

Sooooo tasty. As a bartender at another London restaurant, I can honestly say it is so refreshing to have an awesome, cozy place to go on nights off with my friends that isn't right downtown where everyone else frequents. I love Bungalow because it's a little off the beaten path and the fresh ingredients, menu options and great selections of beer and wines. The pear, stilton salad is my favourite. The build your own burgers are dynamite as well.<br/><br/> As for all those people who whine and complain about the slow service, you have to remember what time you're dining and how busy the place is. If you're dining at peak hours (12-2, 5-9) you can understand why the food is coming out a little more slowly. It takes time to make sure everything is properly prepared for a full restaurant. If you don't like to wait, don't enter a busy restaurant at 7pm on a Friday night.<br/><br/> Bottom line: Bungalow has a great atmosphere, great food, pleasant service and is definitely worth checking out!!

The tuna ahi burger was unreal - Asian slaw and wasabi mayo with perfectly cooked, fresh tuna...plus sweet potato fries? Yes please.
Eiram
Amazing. There are no other words to describe how much we enjoy this restaurant; the build-your-own burgers are fantastic, as is everything on the menu. <br/>It can get a little crowded, but for the price of the food and the taste, it is well worth it.
Scott
Should be BungSLOW! I'm in the restaurant right now, and the service is horrible. Parking is non-existant, and it took 20 min to get drinks on the table. This place is full, but EVERYONE is waiting for food. I'm not optimistic we'll make it out by the end of lunch.

Best Turkey Burger EVER. Ate my first meal at The Bungalow this past Sunday and loved it! Great, friendly service. I ordered the turkey burger and shared 3 sides with others. Best turkey burger I've ever had! So delicious! The sides were pretty good, although they were cold because the kitchen was 'unorganized' and slow. Deep fried pickles, sweet potato fries and green beans. Green beans were the highlight. Overall, great experience, I'll definitely go back :) 8/10
Chris
Great service Great food. Title says it all, this place has the 'combo'. Get the burgers, spot on!

Won't be back. Went there last night for dinner. The place was very busy when we arrived and had to wait 15 minutes for a table, which isn't any problem. At 6.00 p.m. we got our table. Server looked at the two of us and said, I remember the two of you. Yes we have been going there since the day it opened. She took our orders, and then we waited, waited and waited. By 7.00 we still haven't received and y food. People all around us who had waited longer at the door, been seated, ordered were now receiving their food and with us still nothing. With that we asked, were is our food. Already before this we had asked her to check, oh it will be up in five minutes. Sent her back again to check, with this she proceeds to tell us that the kitchen had lost our order and there isn't any food for us. She said she would buy our dinner for us but she could not remember what we had ordered and could we please tell her again. With that we left.<br/><br/>We asked to speak to the manager twice. She would not come out from behind the bar. The bar area was so packed with people that you could not walk down the aisle if you tried. Is this up to fire code and could not see were it was posted. <br/><br/>As I said we will never be back. Nobody needs customer service like this.
Michelle
Build your own burger was great and the sweet potatoe fries were the best I've had. I will definitely go back to this place!

Average to good. Food well prepared, menu is somewhat uninspiring. Although the pizza & soup has been excellent on occasion. Older man behind bar always looks miserable (owner?). Worth a try but don't book a meeting or working lunch as it's very loud & little privacy.

Best Burgers EVER!. Came to The Bungalow on a very busy Friday night, We came in and were told it was about a 25 minute wait, we were seated in about 10-15 minutes tops. Once seated our drink orders were taken almost right away, the waitress gave us a couple minutes to look over the menu, and we both choose the build your own burger of course! The choices were pretty amazing, They have different meat choices including Wild Boar, Lamb, Buffalo, Turkey, Tuna, and the usual beef, also a portobello option for the vegetarians. Lots of different cheese choices, 3 different types of buns, and about 40 toppings to choose from including caramelized onions, smoked chorizo, double-smoked bacon, pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms, sliced dill pickle, roasted garlic, and the list goes on. <br/><br/>The food came out pretty fast after ordering which I was pretty surprised about, seeing as how busy it was that night. I chose to go with the buffalo burger this time and it was amazing, big portion and grilled to perfection, the unlimited toppings are a great add-on and I went with as much as I could, building an enormous burger. I went with a side of sweet potato fries this time which also tasted great and a really good compliment to the burger, but next time I really wanna try the homemade mac n cheese, and the deep fried pickles! Lots of different selection of local beers on tap and bottled as well, although the bar area is kinda small, so if you can find a seat on a friday/saturday night all power to you. <br/><br/>Small, intimate setting with great service and probably the best burgers in the city! Although the parking lot is absolutely tiny and the parking around on the street is a little iffy. The portions are great, and the prices are just right, definitely not overpriced whatsoever. I can't wait to return and build some more amazingly good burgers! Oh and the fish and chips looked amazing as well! I will be back, although I will call ahead if going on a Friday night again.

Food good but reaaly slow. After we specifically asked for no cheese on hot dog due to food allergy it came with cheese. Then had to wait for over 15 minutes for the right order. Feh.

Severely overrated. Burger was overdone. Service was slow.

Best in Town. Small, cute and lively restaurant. Excellent burgers and pizza! The sides are also great, deep fried pickles or mac and cheese are my recommendations!<br/>You will return again and again, I guarantee it!

Thumbs down. 10 of us had dinner there for a birthday celebration on Sunday night. Our reservation was for 6pm. We starting receiving our food at approx 7:10 thru 7:15pm?<br/>Hamburger was ice cold and red inside. It was sent back to cook. Fries were cold 3x and finally we just left them. Salads had very little dressing. The fish was sitting in a pool of grease. 5 meals out of 10 were OK. We received not 1 apology or explanation. Their service was slow and unorganized. And the most disturbing part was our bill had an automatic 18% gratuity added on. Very, very dissappointing.
Stephanie
The Bungalow. Great place! I eat at the Bungalow all the time and have been impressed everytime. The service is great, always very friendly and helpful. <br/>I bring family, friends and clients here, and recommend the Black and Blue burger with fries!<br/>You will not be dissapointed!

Poor Poor Management!!!. On Saturday I took my four adult daughters to lunch to celebrate one of my daughters' engagement. We had barely finished eating and our friendly waitress had just removed our plates when the manager came to our table and asked us to move to the bar because he had people at the door waiting to be seated. We had not been offered coffee or tea. We had not been offered dessert and we had not been given our bill. I was shocked to be virtually asked to leave the restaurant and told him we had not been given our bill - at that point we were not interested in spending any more in an establishment that clearly cared more about the people waiting than the ones who had already spent their money. However I would guess that the interest in these people is short lived too. The manager then went directly to our waitress and told her to get us our bill. In my experience when people are waiting to be seated they are offered seats in the bar, I have never known of anyone being asked to vacate their seats for people waiting. It will be a long time before we try this establishment again - hopefully the management will have changed by then and I can't imagine recommending it to my friends. I sincerely hope that this man was not one of the owners because the restaurant is doomed if that is the way they treat their customers.

We used to love this place. Up until last Saturday when my wife and I both found pieces of raw Macaroni in our food. My wife was two bites into her hot dog when she bit down on the first piece of raw pasta. We handed it to the waiter who instead of offering to make her a new one, asked her if she wanted a free drink. At this point she was willing to let it slide but when more pieces were found in the very next bite she sent it back and went hungry. <br/>Thankfully there was no macaroni in my burger but there was a piece of it sitting on my plate. Apparently someone had spilled macaroni all over the food that was waiting to go out and instead of making it over again they cleaned up the visible pieces and sent the meals out anyway.<br/>Unfortunately my wife refuses to go back there again. Most depressing because The Bungalow had become my favourite place in London to have a burger. :(
Mel
Love it. I love the bungalow! It is the MOST reasonably priced menu I have seen in a LONG time, and there's none of that frozen chain restaurant food either! I go there all the time, and there's no stopping in sight!

The Bungalow. My friends and I went to the Bungalow for the first time this weekend. We were all very impressed, and really enjoyed our dinner. The staff were all friendly and it felt like a really warm welcoming atmosphere. <br/>Five out of five stars!!

YES PLEASE!. Call me over excited but it's the small things that get to me. <br/><br/>Don't even open the menu, just tell the waitress you'll have the build your own burger and let the fun begin! Two words: Unlimited Toppings!<br/><br/>"Whats that sir, two cheeses, Canadian bacon, lettuce, caramelized onions and honey mustard, will there be anything else on that burger" Hooray!
Sarah
My Favourite Restaurant!!. I love this restaurant because it is really friendly, all the servers and bartenders are really nice, and all the people in the place seem to really be enjoying themselves. I find it easy to come to this restaurant often because everything is so tasty and when I look at the bill I can't even believe it! My whole family of four can eat for less than $50. Trust me you will NOT be disappointed with this place, the meals are huge and they are all homemade!

Great spot, always great food in a relaxed room.

Poor Management. My friend had a reservation for a birthday party, and 5 days before the party the owner called and said the manager that took the reservation didn't have authority to do that and they had to cancel. The Reason? They don't want to turn away foot traffic on a saturday night. This left my friend stranded with 30 invited guests and no options on such short notice. Another friend called to try to convince them to change their mind (he eats there weekly) and the owner was rude and non sympathetic. The few times that I have been there I was dissapointed with the slow service but the food was ok - but now knowing this, I will not return.

--Good food, abhorrent parking...--. ...unless it was just the time we went (6:30ish).<br/><br/>I had the calamari appetizer, and the ahi tuna burger. My friend had the black and blue burger.<br/><br/>The calamari was awesome: tender and hot, and the aioli was nice. The portion was nice and generous too. In fact, it's enough for two, so I would suggest only ordering it if you're with someone or if you're not going to eat much more. I also thought it needed a sprinkling of salt, so keep this in mind.<br/><br/>The ahi tuna burger was pretty good; I had it with fries. The wasabi aioli was just the right spiciness, and the Asian slaw added a nice touch of tartness. The only thing was the fish itself. It seemed somehow not fresh. I'm not a connoisseur, but the flesh on the inside was verging on grey, and was a bit unappetizing. As far as I know it should have been (dark) pinkish, and my friend commented that it looked like it had been in a freezer. Maybe it was just the lighting. In any case, it wasn't bad, but I didn't finish it.<br/><br/>My friend said that the black and blue burger was good. He didn't get the onion ring on it though, and the cheese hadn't even melted. He finished it up though, so he must have liked it. He also had it with fries.<br/><br/>All in all, I would recommend The Bungalow. This was our first visit and we wouldn't mind going back again. The prices were reasonable, and the food was well done. And one last thing--probably depending on the time, be prepared to either wait for a spot or find a meter nearby (there might be some further west on Cheapside). They literally have like only 10 or 12 parking spots.<br/><br/>If there were stars I would give it 4/5.
The Growling Belly
Nestled in the heart of London’s Old North, it is widely known for their scrumptious burgers and craft beers. What is unique about the Bungalow was that it was hidden in an actual renovated Bungalow. Parking was a pain in the butt with the only available parking space being the driveway and what looks to be the backyard of the converted bungalow. If you’re thinking of going, definitely go right or even before dinner time to snatch a good parking spot. The environment inside is warm and cozy and very much resembles a casual neighbourhood bar. The menu has a wide variety of items from salads to flatbreads but their true speciality lies in their Bungalow Burgers. After debating between the Ahi Tuna Burger and the Nicky-John Lamb Burger, I decided to go for the Nicky-John with a side of fried pickles. Apparently the Nicky-John burger was also created while filming “You Gotta Eat Here”, a T.V show featured on the Food Network”. As a former religious viewer of the Food Network, this feature

This local is not found anywhere that you would expect to find a pub. It is nestled quietly in among a neighbourhood full of residential houses. I just wish it were right next to my house! Too bad it’s located in London. Though, that just gives us an excuse to get the motorcycle out, at least for the summer! The restaurant I am talking about today is The Bungalow Neighbourhood Hub , another stop from You Gotta Eat Here! I haven’t seen the episode of YGEH that visited this restaurant, so I had to ask what menu item had been sampled on the show. It turned out that John Catucci had tried the same item that I had already decided I was going for – the Bungalow Hot Dog! This baby came topped with baked beans, bacon, cheddar, deep fried pickles and jalapeños. I ended up picking off the jalapeños. I like to get the essence of the flavour but I can’t handle eating actual pieces of any hot pepper. I’d love to say that this hot dog was everything I could have hoped for and more, but it didn’t qui
