One of my all time top 3 places to eat in London! Always have great service and the food is always delicious. My partner and I finished the Sausage Board, a glass of red sangria and a cold brew. Highly recommend!!

SWMBO joined me for a business trip to London ON. We went to the Morrisey House for dinner with a couple of my colleagues, around the corner from our hotel. The restaurant was full when we got there after 6:30, and we had to wait a few minutes for a table for four.
SWBMO chose the Jambalaya from the Entrees section of the menu ($16.25). Shrimp, chorizo sausage, and sautéed chicken were mixed in with a spicy rice and tomato sauce blend. Although you can request that they slice it up, SWBMO asked for mild, which was spicy enough. She said it was okay, but that she likes her own recipe better.
I picked the Hot Italian Eggplant Sandwich from the Lighter Dinner Fare section ($12.25). The eggplant was thinly sliced, lightly breaded and properly fried until soft all the way through. It was served on a focaccia bun with tomato sauce, spinach, sautéed mushrooms, smoked cheddar, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers. A bit messy, but good.
Service was friendly and polite.
We went to this restaurant at the recommendation of our hotel concierge. Lamb vindaloo was fantastic. Extensive list of local craft beers on tap. Large variety of wines by the glass. Great value and very good service. We went back again for dinner two nights later and again had a great experience.
We went for a late breakfast-early lunch. It was around 11am and wasn’t too busy. The service was very good. Friendly server! I had the Canadian Skillet - very filling! I didn’t need to eat again all day😀
We only popped in to get out of rain . We’re planning on staying for a drink but the food coming out smelled amazing and looked delicious so we stayed for dinner . We started with the two way shrimp - awesome . We had the white bean coconut curry and the cottage pie. Both were great , the cottage pie was sooo good. Piping hot ! Will definitely stop in if in the area again .
The food was excellent at the Morrissey House and definitely would come back again! Our waitress was wonderful and the food had wonderful flavour! Pretty big portions. Would recommend making a reservation since this places gets packed! And we came on a Tuesday!
As good as it gets in my opinion, I loved my visit to The Morrissey House at the end of January. Looking at it from the outside you might prejudge it as a bit of run down converted house, but I implore you to take the chance, walk up those steps and enter their doors.
It's very cute inside as you can definitely tell this was a home at one point as the entire restaurant/bar is divided into different rooms. Which on initial entry might throw you for a loop, but once you're seated it's actually kind of cozy. The bar is contained to one room for those bar flies who want to sit on stools, watch the game and shoot the breeze, while the dining rooms are in their own space, which when seated in them feel a lot like you're eating in someones dining room.
Likely my fave place in London. Not only does it have a causual, community pub kind of feel. Their craft beer choice is almost unmatched and the food is amazing!
Pub nights on Mondays, Wine Wednesdays and even weekend brunch - the hits just keep coming. Cannot suggest enough!
Second time here. First time reviewing.
Finding a place to park around here can be a bit of a challenge, but if you can get in the lot directly to the West, it will only set you back $4. A bargain by London standards.
The restaurant is set in a turn of the century house. Decor still has some of the original millwork and fireplaces. It can get a bit crampt, and loud (depending on the crowds) but overall is clean and pleasant.
The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and of good proportions. The Schnitzel is about the best I've had. 2 giant pieces, tender, and lightly battered (not oily). The ribs are fall off the bone. Although not the best ribs I have had, they are very good. Homemade side potato salad was excellent.
Then there is the beer. There are 18 beers on tap. 15 of them are Ontario Craft Beers, 2 are Ontario Craft Ciders, and the other being Guinness. Great variety that is constantly being changed. Decently priced too.
Overall this place has it all. Great food. Great Beer. Large proportions at a decent price. If you can't enjoy eating here, you cannot be pleased.

We come here all the time. Service is great even on a busy night. The meatloaf is the best Ive had. Food is well cooked, and presented nicely. Highly recommend!
Food is amazing (nachos, schnitzel and their desserts are amazing) and they have local craft brews on tap (no big breweries here!). Staff is super friendly . This is where I send people who are new to London. A great pub, run by great people.
We had a great brunch at The Morrissey House :)
The patio was busy but the smoked salmon eggs Benedict was worth it! We also ordered French Toast and a side of bacon to go that was packed up beautifully (and tasted delicious!)
I was happily surprised at the bill- A great price for such a good meal :) I can't wait to go back.
A pretty surprisingly good place for food. My expectation was low because i thought it's more of a bar. Food is good, service is very good, setting is lovely and homelike, portion is generous, and menu is very reasonably priced.
Went to this place for dinner before the Lightning basketball game and were very pleased overall.
Wife had the fish and seasoned fries and I had the pork rib lets with a light but tasty honey garlic seasoning. Both meals came with a generous serving of Cole slaw.
The fish was lightly breaded with a home made beer batter and both it and the home made fries were served pretty hot.
I had 3 large portions of ribs and the meat literally dropped off the bones. The honey garlic sauce was light enough not to be overwhelming but enough to be noticed. Other signature meals are meatloaf, pork schnitzel and steak. Also well known for beer selections.
Very friendly efficient staff made diners feel welcome and checked back several times during our meal.
Restaurant was smartly decorated and is located on the large main floor of a house.
A great place that we will return in the future.
Only challenge here is finding parking nearby but a short walk to this place is worth it. One of London's finest.
November 2017.
Revisited for brunch and found it outstanding. Only offered Saturday and Sunday.
Had the chorizo skillet and partner had the eggs Benedict and added coffee. There were so many other unique choices that we have to go back to try them out. Hot food, good service, reasonable cost, and ample servings. What's not to like? Top 10 London restaurant.
This is where I send people who are new to London. A great pub, run by great people. Food is amazing (nachos, schnitzel and their desserts are amazing) and they have local craft brews on tap (no big breweries here!). Staff is super friendly, great atmosphere to hang with friends. My favourite night is trivia night on Mondays. Starts at 7pm, but be sure to get there by 6:20-6:30 to get a table. Teams take trivia seriously, so be prepared for battle. We never win, but it's always fun!
Came here after a finance exam (which was horrible) and it was the perfect pick me up. I got the curried chicken salad wrap, which was extremely filling and very generous in portion. Though I'm not a fan of mayo, the mayo here was quite low key, which I loved. The curry, however, was mostly on the sweet side - though I loved the almond bits within. The carrot ginger soup was absolutely delicious... very creamy and the slight spice was an amazing kick.
My friends loved their meals too, and we had a great time together.
What I like about the Morrissey House is that it's great for casual hangouts with people who have different tastes in food. There's something on the menu for everyone, and even the pickiest eater will find something on the dessert menu that they like (I think the Twix pie is a winner!). Fish & chips, meatloaf, teriyaki salmon are all A+, however the cottage pie is a little salty, their jambalaya doesn't taste creole at all (even asking them to make it hot as hell spicy doesn't save it) and their fries taste like Costco fries (crispy but bready, you know?). BUT, they have good desserts and that makes everything better. I recommend the Twix pie!! It's not really chocolaty but it does taste exactly like a Twix bar. The double chocolate brownie is a warm, gooey deliciousness and the cherry pie is tart but flaky. Overall I would eat here again but only for a group social of some sort.
Like a lot of people have said, the fish is great. The batter is salty and light and just right. House salad also very nice. The fries are not hand-cut and are covered in pepper -- in fact, the kitchen staff has a very heavy hand with the pepper shaker. It's a bit much. Decent craft beer selection. The modest outdoor patio is ok -- you can smoke if that's your thing -- and you get a colourful, noisy view of Dundas street which is...good and not so good. Overall it's a decent pub for this part of the world but not particularly special -- except for the really good fish and chips! Just...not the chips so much.
Lamb Shank. Usually this comes with a side veg, but I switched it for a salad, so it is not shown here. Highly recommend this meal! It was awesome!
A very elegant experience. With class and style with room for a home-like vibe, this place provided me a safe setting to try a variety of unique beers and then finding my brain on the floor. Besides great beer, the food is comforting and yummy. Great experience, if I remember correctly. Staff was awesome too.
Great pub food. Fries are amazing. Had the fish n chips and pork schnitzel 2 HUUUGE pieces of schnitzel. The homemade tartar sauce was so good ! I'll definitly be back
Great Pub Food!. Party of three, we made reservations and were seated quickly (Saturday night ~8pm). We'd checked the menu prior to going, but what stumped us early on was what to drink with dinner! Decided on mixed drinks for two and wine for one.
Dinner was prompt and consisted of a savory cottage pie (similar to a shepherd's pie but with less mashed potatoes) topped with parsnip chips (very tasty, and I tend to dislike parsnips as a rule) and a house salad which was crisp but a tad too much dressing (mine was a swimming a little).
The other main was the pork schnitzel which was described as a 'meat pancake' and while thin, there were two and they covered most of the plate. A side of mashed and some nice green beans finished the plate.
Service was prompt and attentive and the food was tasty. The atmosphere was typical pub-style, louder than a simple restaurant and the building itself had its own charm, as it was an old Victorian separated into smaller rooms with a bar area with tvs and seating areas for dining.
We enjoyed ourselves so much, we forgot to mention our 10% discount coupons we'd been given for the film festival we were visiting. The food was still worth it! Definitely coming back - now that its starting to get warm (x-ing fingers), I think we'll try the patio.
My favourite place to eat!. Since my girlfriend and I moved to the downtown area, Morrissey House has quickly become our favourite spot to go eat cheap. We're both students and can't afford much but Morrissey's prices are spot on. I love the fish and chips, every time I've ordered them they were perfect; and the fries, MY GOD THE FRIES! I'm not sure what they put in their fries to season them but they are amazing!
The staff is always super nice and cool. I love how the atmosphere is so chilled out and I always feel like the staff really enjoy their work. The atmosphere is definitely one of the main reasons (besides the food, of course) that we keep coming back. We always feel comfortable at Morrissey's, never rushed, never feel like the staff is trying to get us out the door or rush our dinner along, none of that. It feels like a home away from home that I can get some good food or some beers with the mates and watch the match. Can't wait for rugby season to start!!
Super nice. Beer selection was fantastic, pretty good service, nice outdoor patio, no loud students.
Best vodka bar lime in town. We got the spring rolls and liked them enough to order more. Would definitely go again.
Very Nice. This was a stop in on a recent trip to London and it ended up being a very nice surprise. The beer list is not extensive but the selection consisted of good beers. There is care taken in the food preparation and presentation. The atmosphere is funky and a patio for relaxing. A very nice surprise in London.
Beer selection is worth the visit.. Their food is definitely a big 'meh' for me, but their beer selection definitely makes the visit worth while.
Best fish and chips. Armed with a Strongbow along side of this plate of lightly battered halibot and mix of fries and sweet potato fries it was perfect craving satisfier. Great atmosphere...great staff.... Perfect lunch.
Everyone's Taste. You could be forgiven for walking past Morrissey House, a drab facade set back from the street, unaffected by a mural of Sir Winston Churchill on a side wall, but if you are looking for well-cooked food and a home-like atmosphere please stop by.
The menu has something for everyone's taste, from sandwiches and burgers, braised beef short ribs, lemon pepper pickerel, jambalaya, etc. It was my intention to try the fish and chips - I am unsure if this restaurant wishes to become famous for its fish and chips but, for me, this dish is second to none ... especially if accompanied with a good lager. Very grateful for Mark's helpful advice regarding the draft and micro-brew beers. The samples provided were a useful education ... and I chose the Mill Street Organic Lager.
Wonderful food and great service.. Grilled wings melted as they hit our mouths. Locally sourced sausage platter was tasty. At the table next to me someone had a pulled pork topped burger....will be having that the next time. Great selection of drinks and friendly attentive service.
More than just a pub!. Excellent breakfast! Had the stuffed French toast and it was wonderful. The breakfast sandwich is quite good as well.
I have also had the burger and chicken sandwich. Very good quality.
Check it out!
Great pub. Warm cozy atmosphere. Food is delicious and they have an extensive number of beers on tap.
Super Pub. Very good food (often made with local ingredients), great beer and cider. A really nice cozy pub atmosphere, and very helpful waitstaff.
My Favourite. The Morrissey House is my favourite London restaurant. They have the best fish and chips in London and all of their entrees are perfectly thought out, down to the coleslaw. Their food is never slapped together or ever from a package. Their atmosphere is very casual and comfortable and the waitstaff is always friendly and helpful. They also have a huge selection of local and imported beers. Everyone I have ever taken to this restaurant has loved it and I would highly recommend it!
Excellent Pub!!. The Morrissey house is an excellent pub in london. It's interior is warm and unique compared to most others in the area. The menu is affordable as well. The fish and chips may be the best in town. They also have a local ontario brewery beer on tap which changes everyday. Great for local breweries. Good food and good beer!
Nice warm pub with great food. Menu changes often and the only spot in London I can get grilled wings.
Cannot say enough good things about the service. The food was good, but the service was just amazing! I wish I got her name to mention here (dressed up for new years), but she really good at her job! 10/10 would come back because of her!
We stumbled on this gem by accident. Not only is the food great its reasonably priced. The staff is great, they were very accommodating and friendly. Although the one light over the bar looks a bit suspect, i told the ladies they better have their best Phantom of the Opera impression ready in case it falls ;)
Lots of local artists works on the walls throughout and a nice patio too!
I love this pub’s vibe, food and staffs. The mood of this pub is so friendly and comfortable so going with friends, family and partner are surely nice! Staffs are so friendly and nice, I like them. In addition, food were so delicious and gorgeous, and really matched with drinks! I’d love to go there again!

The best darn wings I have ever had !
We ordered whiskey dry rub and Louisiana wings- they were the bomb. We also ordered Lomita burger which was amazing as well.
The interiors are cute and the service was pretty quick.
100% worth driving 2 hrs ! 😅
What a pleasant surprise:
-no chain
-unique+extraordinary ambience
-very friendly and attentive service
-tasty food. Have not had a Schnitzel in a long time: pork meat and breading delicious, the gravy can be a little improved, missing the kick (I would add more mushrooms and parsley, a few herbs)
-very good value, moderate prices
Looking forward to returning soon :)
Came here for dinner after Tennocon at the con center! Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. We sat outside listening to the live music which was wonderful. We got the tasting platter was good and the mussles were Incredible, definitely recommend. The schnitzel is also another solid recommendation
Waitress working the patio was nice, but there was a long wait to have our orders taken and then a very long wait for our check. No tableware given until asked either. She was nice, but service way she has room to improve

Very cozy with great food!
I had the Catfish and my wife had the fried chicken and we cleaned off both plates. The food was perfect and the portions were solid! (I was full despite being a hefty guy)
Was recommended by Digital Extremes' Tennocon traveller's guide and it did not disappoint! Thanks!
Food was great! Server was alright, not very attentive, although they do have great staff, I have been here about a dozen times and the food never disappoints. I almost want to just tip the kitchen! Last time I went it smelled pretty bad inside (like garbage) so I would keep an eye out for that!

Excellent food and attention. The staff is friendly, the food is sooo tasty and the desserts are to die for. They have an extensive selection of drinks (wines, cocktails, beers). I have tried their lunch and dinner menu, but have yet to try their breakfast menu.
Service and food were fantastic! The servers are rock stars!
Was there over the weekend to enjoy their delicious breakfast with family. Great atmosphere and safe environment as they’re going over and above to ensure the safety of their staff and guests. Will highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon.
Great patio, good beer selection, did wait pretty long for an order of nachos and the waitress did say sorry for the wait, so might have been a one of thing. Nachos were delicious huge chunks of chicken. Probably could do with some background music on the patio. Overall great experience
I came here for lunch specifically to check out the mussels and fries. Turns out that's on the dinner menu, not the lunch menu, but my server asked the kitchen if they would make it and they did. Right there, excellent service in both front and back of house. Thanks Morrisey House folks! As for the mussels and fries OMG they were perfect. Another review said they were too salty, but that's just not true. They come in a beautiful sweet curry sauce that's good enough to eat off the floor, and a generous side of addictively spiced fries that are worth the trip in their own right. I drove all the way from Welland to check this place out (road trip!) and it was worth the effort. I'll be back!
Stopped by because of the recommendations. Excellent flavor from the burger and the beer was superb. The staff were friendly. Definitely be back when I'm in the area.
I wanted to like this place more than I do, as I've heard good things and at first glance all appeared to be great. However, being a beer lover, I was happy to see a sizable beer list, but out of my top 3 picks from the beer list, none of the 3 were available! Also, the staff weren't very knowledgeable when it comes to beer.
Having said that, their beer list is notable as there's about 20 on tap and another 40 in cans and bottles.
Food was delicious 😋, absolutely I would go back again! 🍲😋👍👌 I visited again today and as usual food was amazing! Me and my boyfriend shared the shrimp appetizers, yum! I ordered for me this beef sandwich with sweet potatoes fries and we shared the dessert, which it was carrot cake with icecream... I own you the picture because we devoured it before we had the time to take it, lol!
Ended up eating here two different nights while in London. Food was amazing, and the service was excellent! Large selection and unique atmosphere as well. Would highly recommend!
Food was delicious, has a great menu with alot of variety. Service on the patio was okay, albeit slow to cash out at the end of dinner. Great spot to meet with friends.
My wife and I were just there and really enjoyed the home style food, fairly large portions (thankfully), excellent variety of adult drinks. The gentleman that seated us was very polite and offered to show us around when we mentioned we were considering this place for a small group dinner (8 of us). Our server was very friendly and helpful. The music was loud enough to listen to but not so loud that you have to speak up to have a conversation. Really very happy with our experience there. Already made our reservation for next time.
