Our party of 9 were impressed by the delicious and fresh dishes. Our waiter was excellent, explaining the dishes and giving us recommendations, which were top notch.
Went with some coworkers before lightning game and it was a perfect time. Great food and service. The waiter was engaging and on top of everything!

Pors:
1. veggie spring rolls were very good as was the Vietnamese coffee.
2. decor/ atmosphere - this is a sleek, clean, modern restaurant that is great for business meetings and date nights.
3. The kitchen was excellent at accommodating food allergies.
Middle ground:
1. clay pot pork - I don't know what to make of it. It had a smokey, sort of brick flavour which was interesting...it was a flavour that I never had, so I am on the fence as to whether I liked it. What I did not like was the fact there was not a lot of sauce. Had hot sauce not been offered, it would not have enjoyed this because it was too dry. The rice was cooked well and I enjoyed the accoutrements.
Cons:
1. the avocado rolls - were stuffed with a whole bunch of lettuce and the veins of the lettuce. I did not care for them at all.
I hope that people support this restaurant. This like many on Dundas are struggling because of the construction. The service was wonderful and the food options are authentic and unique. I enjoy diversity in the London food scene and it would be a shame to see a restaurant like this fall victim to unfortunate circumstances.
I was on a mad run around town after work and I had my mind set on finding some great pad thai and rolls with options thinning out by the hour. I managed to get under the wire and order a pad thai with some spring rolls and fresh rolls. I ate the whole thing and was very happy. It was my first time ordering food there for myself and I will definitely be going back.
Had dinner here for the first time tonight with my girlfriend. The restaurant is beautiful, sleek, and modern. I found myself admiring the flatware and plates because even they stood out.
Then the food, absolutely killer! The waitress understood our vegan diet and guide our choices. We started with avocado rice rolls. The mint in the rolls somehow brings all the other flavours together. So fresh! The peanut dipping sauce has layers of flavour, not just a peanut goo like some shops. Beautiful!
I had the pad viet and she had the stir fry veggies an tofu. The house made soy sauce for the pad viet was delicious. The veggies, noodles and tofu were all Cooked perfectly.
Our server was great. She had a bunch of tables and no one else to help her and knocked it out the park. We will definitely be back
My only complaint is that they have avocados that are ripe and delicious. Where can I buy some??!
Incredible food!. My partner and I love Quynh Nhi's pad thai and wanted a nicer Thai/Vietnamese place to go to in the downtown area. So so glad we ended up at Tamarine. The appetizer (Taste of Tamarine, I believe) was nearly perfect -- didn't love the pork skewers but was totally happy with everything else. We split the beef pad thai and beef pad viet, which is a special soy sauce-based noodle dish, as well as a signature dish of Tamarine. I really can't over-emphasize how happy we were with our meals, particularly the pad viet. I have lived in huge metropolitan cities (New York, Vancouver, etc) and this is some of the best Thai-Vietnamese food I've encountered.
Amazing food and atmosphere. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
I highly recommend trying the Saigon beer which was suggested by my server (who was excellent). It is a Vietnamese beer and apparently shipments are running low in Canada so try it while you can.
I had a ginger chick stir fry and it was flavoured perfectly. I had it about a month ago but it was so good I had to come back and write a review on it.
I highly recommend this place; I would go more often but it could get a bit pricey.
Great atmosphere, delicious good, over priced booze. The service was amazing, and the wings, sprung rolls and pad viet were perfect. The drinks were way over priced as I could barely detect any alcohol in my $11 double rum and coke ... Ill be eating there again but not drinking..

Very sleek restaurant located in the heart of downtown London. I ordered the fresh spring rolls and the Pad Thai for lunch. Both items were excellent! The spring rolls were fresh with crisp ingredients and good flavor. The Pad Thai had just enough heat for me. The lime that it comes with adds an extra element to the dish as well. Would definitely go here again the next time I am visiting!
This restaurant was awesome! The decor was modern and made for a great atmosphere. The waitress was really attentive and the food came out quickly. And the food was delicious! Definitely try the caramelized salmon, and the basil beef was really good too. There were lots of interesting cocktails- the Mekong martini was delicious!
The owner came over and talked to us a few times and was very welcoming. We would definitely go back!

Fresh and Beautiful. I've eaten at Tamarine close to 20 times in the last 6 months. I've tried many dishes on the menu. I highly recommend the Pepper Pork Clay Pot, the Hot Soup and the Chicken Curry. The atmosphere and servers, under the management of Long, is the best.

BEST Pad Thai in London!. Went for dinner with a group of six. Service was excellent and the food was even better. As the title says, they have the best Pad Thai in London. Our first experience was in the summer, but this will be a favourite spot before Knights games in the fall.

Peak Experience in London. London Ontario is blessed with a modest number of competent dining establishments, providing good food and service for a reasonable price. Few of these, however, rise to the level of offering a memorable experience. It is the very good fortune of Londoners, however, that Tamarine by Quynh Nhi arrived on the scene in early 2011. By offering traditional Vietnamese and Thai dishes, reimagined in a clean contemporary style, Londoners can enjoy an evening of subtle, refreshing, and occasionally bold flavours that will linger happily in their memory until their next visit (which can't come soon enough).
Located on the east end of Dundas Street, tamarine presents a cool oasis of South Asian calm with tastefully understated decor graced by elegant reminders of this family operations Vietnamese roots. My family was welcomed warmly and seated without delay by our charming hostess. Service throughout the evening was friendly, fast and frequently educational as suggestions were made on how to maximize the flavour experience of tamarine's varied offerings.
Our group comprised a mixture of vegetarians and omnivores, but none were left wanting for choices from tamarine's comprehensive, yet not overwhelming, menu. Appetizers were hot, varied and uniformly delicious. Entrees (largely pad thai-style variations for our group) were beautifully presented and graced by subtle notes of mint and cilantro. The chefs are more than happy to adapt the menu to vegetarian requirements and can tone the spices up or down as desired.
Our young hostess and host were attentive but not intrusive, and we were gently schooled in how best to apply sauces and combine components to enhance the flavour experience. Tamarine's wine list is not extensive, but prices were reasonable and the offerings complemented the South Asian cuisine. The desert list is similarly brief, but presents a good selection for every taste. My traditional sticky rice banana was a pure delight.
Tamarine has a winning formula - wonderful ethnic food and winning service - and one can only hope that this establishment is embraced by London's typically conservative dining crowd. For my part, I have a new preferred dining room in downtown London and plan to be back many, many more times.

Love it!!. I have been a regular at Tamarine's sister restaurant, Quyh nhi for around 10 years. It is a favourite of my whole family's. The staff is always friendly and do an excellent job, not to mention that the food is fabulous. When they told me they were opening a new downtown location, I was so excited!! Tamarine is a beautiful restaurant with a great ambiance. It is a great place for a date or dinner with friends. I have only been during dinner hours, and the service has always been amazing.
The food is the best Vietnamese cuisine you can find in London by far! As a vegetarian, it is one of my favourite places to go, because they have an extensive vegetarian selection. My personal favourites are the crispy fried spring rolls, the spicy pineapple tofu and the carmelized tofu. They have amazing non-veggie options as well, as many of my friends would agree. I am always bringing new people here to introduce them to the delicious food and friendly staff. I would absolutely recommend Tamarine for everyone from family's to friends to couples. Go try it and you will have no choice but to agree!!!!
Fabulous. I have been to Tamarine a few times now and every time I am left utterly impressed by the food and the service. I am highly critical of customer service and the service and servers at Tamarine are fantastic and always consistent which is difficult to find. The manager always comes by to see how the meal was. The food is unbelievable. The pad thai is simply the best I have ever had in the city and so are many other items on the menu. The fresh spring rolls, deep fried spring rolls and torpedo shrimp are all great appetizers. The pad thai, coconut chicken curry and crispy seafood noodles are all fantastic entree dishes. The deep fried banana with coconut ice cream is unreal. I cannot say enough about Tamarine and i have tried just about every restaurant in the city. The decor and atmosphere is also very modern and chic. Highly highly recommended.

Amazing food and service that will keep you coming back!. First off I am pretty new to Vietnamese food and a friend put me on to Quynh Nhi and I fell in love with the cuisine. The only issue is that it was not closeby but fortunate for me they opened a swanky sister restaurant Tamarine a 5 minute walk from work so I am in heaven. I have tried many other Vietnamese restauarants and most pale in comparison.
If you go a must have is the Canh Chua soup, it is for certain the best soup I have tasted in the world. Every mouthful spawns a different flavour on your palate and it has nice sweetness balanced with some beautiful Thai peppers for heat. Everytime I eat here I have the soup, and I really can't see that tradition changing. Their Pad Thai is certainly the best in the city and I have tried Pad Thai in eight or more places. It has an excellent balance of heat and sweet and is not fishy. Chicken is the standard but the beef is also excellent!
I have tried many other dishes there and I have not had anything that I didn't like and I am pretty picky. I eat out a lot and really know good food.
Along with the fantastic food the service is exceptional. Long, the manager, is always smiling and takes great care of the customer. Lily, the regular waitress, is one of the best I have come across in my varied and numerous restaurant experience. The staff care and you can tell they love what they do. Lastly hats off to the Nhi and the kitchen staff as the food is always consistent and hot.
If you want to impress your friends go there, the decor is very upscale and cool....they certainly spent some serious coin on renovations and the food will have them talking! If you are veteran of Thai/Vietnamese food or new to the cuisine you will love it!
Nice lunchtime experience. I have eaten here a few times and I'm always pleased with the service and food. The Pad Thai is great and you can ask for it to be regular or spicey which is nice. The complex flavours of other Tamarine meals make lunchtime dining an experience.
Obsessed with Tarmine and Quynh Nhi. I have to limit the number of times a month that I eat at this restaurant!! My friends and I have been regulars of Quynh Nhi for at least 8 years and when they opened this posh new restaurant downtown we were delighted! I have never had better Pad Thai or spring rolls! I love the sample platter appetizer and the interesting twists they have put on different dishes. The specialty martini's are tasty too. The manager is wonderful to talk to and definitely cares about his patrons. The atmosphere and decor is excellent as well. Every time we have friends or family visit from out of town we take them to either Tamarine or Quynh Nhi.

Lovely Place to Dine.... Went to Tamarine for the first time this evening in celebration of my brother's birthday. It was his suggestion based on his enjoyment of the cuisine from their sister restaurant Quynh Nhi.
As well as the standard Vietnamese fare, this restaurant features lesser known, more celebratory and traditional Vietnamese dishes.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, and wonderfully friendly and enthusiastic staff.
Highly recommend Tamarine.

Fresh look fresh food. What a perfect surprise.. a beautiful restaurant with great tasting food. The atmosphere is stylish, savvy, and sexy. The prices are decent too! We ate clay pot black pepper pork (highly recommend), seafood with vegetables, and fried calamari (fresh and tasty) as well as crispy spring rolls. The service was great and the new little twists on the menu were creative, fun and exciting! Perfect place for a date, meeting or a classy drink at their glowing bar. I honestly can say that this place is one of the best restaurants I have been to in London. Who ever designed this place was on the money.. we will definitely be returning soon!
Yummy Pad Thai. I recall trying Quynh Nhi many years ago and for some reason, I did not like it. But I did want to give Tamarine a try. So glad that I did! I had the Pad Thai - it was delicious, nice and spicy! The price was little more than I would normally pay for Pad Thai but it was well worth it. The owner came by the table and thanked us for coming in. It's a place I will try again.
A chic urban oasis. Brand new to the Downtown but not new to London, Tamarine by Quynh Nhi is the sister restaurant to the popular Quynh Nhi on Wharncliffe Rd. It's the same great food, and the same warm and friendly family-run business in a more upscale setting in the heart of London's dining and entertainment district and just steps away from the John Labatt Centre. Signature spring rolls and fresh rolls, tasty pad thai and many Vietnamese specialty dishes await.
We went here for our anniversary and it was such an amazing experience. The waitress was friendly and helpful, went above and beyond to recommend menu items and she even offered to take a picture of my boyfriend and I. Service 5/5
The food itself is beyond what other Viet/Thai restaurants in London are capable of, it is a bit pricy in comparison but you can really taste the difference and more. Cannot recommend the Basil Beef and Tea Leaf Beef enough, both such amazing flavourful dishes. The mango shrimp salad and Pad Thai I had were really good too, and certainly better than anything else in London, but the beef dishes won the night. Food 5/5.
It's a bit out of the way and hard to get to with the construction, and definitely pricier, but worth the trek through construction.
My bf and I came here for dinner. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. I had the lemongrass beef which was surprisingly spicy. My bf had the pad viet.im giving this a 4/5 because I don't think there was actually much meat in either of our dishes especially for the price charged. Lunch is probably a better deal... We will definitely be back though
Visited this restaurant before going to Budweiser Gardens to watch a show. The server was so friendly and helpful. We had let him know ahead of time that we had to catch a show and our time is limited. He made sure we were taken care of and still enjoyed the delicious dishes. We were more than satisfied. Great ambience, pretty classy place and yet very affordable. If you want to go on a date night or just a night out with friends and families, I would definitely recommend this place. Did I mentioned the food were great?! Well they are!!!

The food was very tasty. The ambience was "okay" - very quiet for a Friday. I wouldn't consider this a "bustling" place for people watching / having a drink. Wine menu (by the glass) could be expanded. Was surprised to see so few traditional Vietnamese options but the menu was varied and also had excellent vegetarian options. Service was excellent.

A wonderful dinning experience! I highly recommend this place for Vietnamese cuisine. I had the Basil Beef which was outstanding! The dish had a lot of flavour and kick to it. It took me back to my back packing days in Vietnam. The service was wonderful and I enjoyed that our server took the time to recommend us dishes.
Exceptional food and staff! We last visited this location during 'Londonlicious' and were welcomed by an owner/manager, seated quickly and had a very friendly waitress. The food was amazing, and the only warning I'd have is to ask what wine is in stock. We ordered the only 'Shiraz' off the menu without ordering it by the winery name and a different Shiraz came because they were out of the menu's listed item. Not bad, but definitely a note! Otherwise a great meal.
I ordered the BBQ Vermicelli Delight. I think its description speaks for itself - seasoned BBQ pork, crispy spring roll and tiger shrimp skewer over vermicelli, cucumber, and sprouts; garnished with pickled carrot, mint and peanuts and served with chili-lime fish sauce. The combination of flavours provided for a light yet filling meal. I especially loved the spring roll and peanuts mixed in. I would definitely recommend this dish.
Will, for sure, go back. The food was perfect Really cohesive and not overstated in flavour. Good portions if you're a hungry guy like me. The rear section of the dining room is a little dark, not helping read the tiny menu font but our server helped me choo choo choose some gluten free items. Service started great and the food came out fast enough but they weren't quite ready for the rush that showed up.

If you are looking for an authentic Vietnamese experience with delicious food, lovely romantic atmosphere, fine and friendly owner/staff service in the downtown area, then this place should be on your list of regular haunts for you and your bow! I have never been disappointed EVER! I love everything about this place; only wish I could go more often.
Great atmosphere, great service, and great food! The waiter was constantly checking in on us, and the owner was making the rounds to ensure the satisfaction of all customers. The pineapple chicken and pho chicken soup was delicious! I would definitely go back!
Best restaurant I've been to in years. Since they closed the Only on King I've been looking for my new favorite restaurant. This weekend I found it at Tamarine. We went with a group of 5 people and everyone ordered an appetizer, entree and dessert. All the food was delicious, particularly the Avocado rolls, mango salad and mochaccino crisp. The service was also great! I'm already planning my next visit and recommending it to all my friends.

I have been to restaurants with good food... I have been to restaurants with good prices....and I have been to restaurants with great service. Tamarine is one of the few restaurants I have been to that embodies all of these three things. The servers are attentive, insightful, and discrete... they provided great suggestions and really made the experience memorable. Even as the restaurant became busier as the night went on, I never needed to ask for another drink refill. The owner of the restaurant is extremely hospitable and really takes the time to make you feel like a valued costumer. When it comes to the food we had the Tamarine Taste starter which gave us the opportunity to try multiple dishes that we had not while we waited for our entrees. Our main courses (Pad Viet & Pepper Pork Clay Pot) ,once again, surpassed our expectation...everything and I mean EVERYTHING we ate, was layered with flavour and cooked to perfection. I would, and plan to, drive to London again for this restaurant alone. 10 stars Tamarine.....you guys truly know how to make dining an experience. :)
Mango salad and long bean curry both delicious. Perfect portions. Not your typical curry - so much thought has gone into each ingredient. Huge vegetarian selection. The owner, Long, has a contagiously kind presence and so much passion for (and knowledge of) food. If you're lucky enough to go on a night when his wife's homemade French macarons are being offered - treat yourself! Everyone at my table of 5 raved about all of their food, and we each had a cocktail, app, main, and dessert. Impressive. This is my new go-to.
There is no parking lot or structure atrached to this restaurant but there is plenty of street parking and parking lots around the area.
There are a lot of tables here in this surprisingly large restaurant so bring your groups or yourself to this restaurant. If you can make a reservation that is always best but I was able to walk right in with a table of 2 on a Saturday and had no problems.
The food here was the best Vietnamese food I have tried yet in the city. The flavours were great, the meat was cooked to perfection and everything was very tasty. Couldn't recommend the food here more. Now it is a little more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants in the city but you get what you pay for and it is more upscale dining as well.
Overall best Vietnamese Restaurant London has to offer so don't hesitate to grab a meal here!!!
