Indian Made For Lethbians. This is Indian food made for a city that might not be ready for a real Indian restaurant. My first impression — the decor — was that the restaurant was elegant but pushing the edge of tacky. The service lacked enthusiasm or any personal touch, but got the job done. The food followed the same theme: good, but not fantastic.
We found the samosas a little tame compared to the great flavours I know they are capable of. B.C.'s Fraser Valley has a rich Indian community and has some amazing samosas.
The curry dishes also seemed to be toned down to better suit unimaginative taste buds. Maybe they need to in order to please the average customer. I just wanted a little more from an Indian restaurant.

Best Indian Food I Have Ever Had - A MUST TRY!. I have visited this restaurants several times with my husband and in-laws and have left more than satisfied every time! The staff and restaurant owners are kind a humble and the food is delicious. A few of my favorites are the Panang, Korma and Butter chicken curry's as well as the Vegetable Pokara and the Garlic Naan Bread (the best!!).

Having been to this restaurant several times with my gf, we have to say we have not had one single dish we were not satisfied with. Portions are aplenty, as are the varieties. Flavors are exquisite. Service is always exceptional. Prices are slightly high, but very well worth every penny!
Excellent. Really great Indian food. The owners are lovely as well. We go here at least a couple of times per month. Never disappointed.
Deelishahs!. I didn't have high hopes when we entered to find a nearly empty restaurant, even with the plaques and newspaper clippings displayed on the wall suggesting I was standing in one of the best joints in Lethbridge. A server pointed us to a table (who needs words anyways?). Despite being so empty our service was a bit slow; our waitress appeared to be running a one woman show. By the time our orders arrived a few other tables had filled up, and by the looks and smell of our order, I understood why. I ordered my usual Indian go-to: Chana Masala (medium) and split the coconut rice with my friend. Deliciously spiced, fresh-tasting with the nice addition of slivered ginger on top...this may have been the best chana I've tried. I'd highly recommend this Baadshah; any wait is well worth it.
Yum!. My husband & I thought we'd have to drive to Calgary to get tasty Indian food but then we found Baadshah! We FINALLY have a nice place to take company who visit with delicious Indian food. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered! (allo tiki with channa, butter chicken, lamb curry (both medium), beef vindaloo (hot - this taste more sweet than spicy to me) pea's pilaf and multiple orders and scrumptious garlic nan)
Great Food. Amazing food, amazing service! I've been back here many times and time after time the food is still amazing, the servus is great and the people are great.

Wonderful!. I have been to both Baadshah and Taj's lunch buffet. In the end, Baadsha's food, service, and atmosphere won me over. The difference was that the naan bread came out fresh and crisp (as opposed to sitting in a hot plate), and the food was swiftly refilled. The food was exceptional, and the buffet items will sometimes change or vary depending on the day (which is nice). The cozy atmosphere and the exotic furniture added quite a nice touch. I was there with a number of vegetarian friends, and they had quite a bit to choose from (they absolutely loved it). My one criticism was that the lady (who apparently owns the place) always appears tired and indifferent; I don't think I've ever seen her smile. Otherwise, this place is my choice for East Indian food.

AMAZING. I have been a regular at this delectable restaurant in the past. Upon entering, one can catch a scent of the delicious, spicy and intricate aromas of authentic Indian food. The environment is decorated very beautifully in traditional Indian style. The chairs and some décor is right from India. For beverages to start I have enjoyed a mango lassi or freshly prepared chai. Appetizers are a must with tasty samosas or a heart-warming soup. There are so many options for the main entrée. Some of my favorites are Reshmi Chicken Tikka (served on a hot plate), Aloo Gobhi, classic Butter Chicken, or Coconut Shrimp, and of course one can order these to the level of spice desired. The different types of naan bread are amazing as well, and I found my favorites were onion or coriander kulcha. And for desert, I was often drawn to gulab jamun or a light helping of kheer.
The service at Baadshah is quite pleasant and they take pride in their high quality authentic Indian food.
The lunch buffet is a great idea to get a lot of variety for a lower cost.
All in all, I highly recommend this amazing restaurant in downtown Lethbridge. :)

Good food, slow service.. The food is generally quite good. My lady says the rice pudding we had when we once went for the lunch buffet was gross and runny though. The family is quite warm and soft spoken and as I said , the food is generally great, BUT they are very slow, and it also seems like the A/C is never turned on[ don't have it?] So it seems I am uncomfortable and sweaty about 5 minutes after sitting down, and then even more so after eating some spicy dish or two. Maybe this is why the service is at a snail's pace... too hot?
Great flavour and served piping hot. The spicy dishes were spicy and although we like hot spice we ordered medium hot and they were all exceptional. Service was nothing great nor poor. Patience helps but we received our orders promptly. If it was busy I'd expect a wait. They were not over staffed. It seemed everybody working was family.
6 years ago I moved from Vancouver to Medicine Hat and left behind a cultural mecca. I've been without a great Indian restaurant to satisfy my occasional craving for homemade naan and. Curries of all types. First walking in you know you're in an authentic restaurant. I went with the beef samosas for apps. For my main I went with coconut curry chicken, Shilah rice and garlic naan. I decided to go with mild heat and I'm glad I did because it didn't leave my mouth on fire and I was still able to taste the food. My dinner partner went with hot and he had beads coming down his forehead. Very reasonable as my bill came to $25.00 and was enough for 2. Definitely a go to place.
Awesome, can't say enough good things!! The nan bread is amazing, the butter chicken is spicy so get it mild. Seriously so good !
Yummy! Great vegetarian selection. I regularly visit Baadshah and get their lunch buffet for take out. As a vegetarian, there is always enough food for me to select from, usually there are 3 vegetarian dishes such as veggie korma or a lentil dish and always some kind of pakoras or deep fried potato. I usually grab some salad, and some dessert- usually a thin custard with some fresh fruit (and often they have gulab jamun and some indian sweets but i just find these TOO sweet for me!) Always lots of great sauces and always a fresh piece of naan to go with your mail.
For $10.50 its a great hunger-busting, veggie lunch, with leftovers often.
Absolutely delicious. Baadshah restaurant offers food that delights the palette with its large array of spices and flavors. I am a regular customer, and enjoy the cuisine every time I go. I find the staff are friendly, the menu is impressive with many choices, the food is magnificent and filling. It is a nice alternative to Western cuisine to taste the flavors of India and most of the items are healthy to eat as well. I have rarely had to wait more than a reasonable time for my food and I find the prices are reasonable too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends, family, and anyone else.
2nd Indian Resto in the bridge. I'm so happy Lethbridge has acquired a second Indian restaurant. This place is fairly well decorated & the food is good. One annoyance was they failed to update their takeout menus properly. We ordered our food off our takeout menu we had picked up from a previous visit....but when we came to pick it up all the food numbers were different from our current menu so what they had prepared for us was not what we had ordered. They had recently updated the menu and changed all the numbers without alerting any current customers of the change.That was quite the hassle.. but we did enjoy the food in the end.

This week we were wanting something a bit more exotic that the usual, so we went to Baadshah Royal East Indian Cuisine Restaurant. Located at 310 5th St. South Lethbridge, this is one of the only places to get some good Indian food in town. It's a fairly spacious establishment, with plenty of seating for everyone.
