Review Fuki Sushi Bar - Laval

We went there to try out a closer to Laval sushi experience and we were not disappointed! The sushi was super fresh and the tempura was super crispy and fresh off the oil (if you can say that). We also went closer to opening time (~5) so that might have contributed to the freshness, but its one of the better and freshest all you can eat sushi I have had. However, there menu is limited as they focus on sushi, rolls and some tempura. Even sashimi is limited to mackerel and salmon, but its very good. I would definitely recommend trying it out. Service was super quick and good too.

It's only around 28$ per person for an AYCE sushi. It's pretty hard to find a place that offers such a wide variety of sushi for such a reasonable price, especially for a weekend. Although the seafood seemed rather fresh, I feel like the sushi were mostly just rice. There was so much rice that it was overwhelming a bit of the rest of the ingredients. Also, the soya sauce was a bit too sweet for my personal taste and the wasabi was completely dried up. Those were a bit disappointing for me. The most uncomfortable thing for me was probably how cramped it was inside. Even though it is a small restaurant, it was packed and the tables were so close to each other, I couldn't even move my chair the whole night. Even the waiters had trouble refilling water. The service was pretty friendly and polite though so it wasn't too bad of an experience overall. The food is also served fairly quickly so that was also great.

Its ok. I tried a few things but prefer the nigiris mainly ( torched salmon is good!). I have to say, their version of "pizza sushi" is just wrong... First of all it is kinda awkward to eat but just really it simply shouldn't be called pizza sushi (it's like if I called a plate of ground meat with bread on the side a "hamburger" or whatever, basically they don't fry the rice base so it fails #1 step in pizza sushi, nonetheless it taste ok). Anyways if you eat lots of sushi them yeah sure this place is great, better than other all you can eat, but in general I think I'd rather spend the same amount of cash on higher quality sushi as I only typically eat 15-20 pieces max per meal.

The food is good but there are a few negative aspects. You can only pay cash or by interac. It is hard to reach them by phone for reservation. We arrived at 4 pm and ordered pretty fast. We started getting food around 4:45 pm. The staff is nice but the service is slow. The sashimi are super thin. Also, the options are limited. You can pay a little more in other restaurants, but get a lot more options.

Food is great...huge portions! Staff is great....made my husband n I very comfortable n adjusted 2 speaking English as my husband n I do not. Location n space is small but I foresee expanding in the very near future. A MUST VISIT when ur in Montreal!

Very good food. Vegetables fresh in the sushi, rice perfectly cooked.

I came to Fuki 4 years ago and loved it. I went this month and I really did not enjoy it. The menu is smaller than it used to be, lack of variety, rolls they had in the past with salmon or shrimp were swapped for white fish, the quality didn’t feel the same, we felt instantly bloated, and considering we barely ate, the price was not worth it. It’s too bad- since this place was really great before.
