Review Akedo Showten - Langley

We enjoyed our experience here and the food was good. The seating is a bit tight inside but it’s separated with plastic partitions so that’s nice. The ramen was very good, definitely creamy and had a nice texture and taste. The only downside was that there were not a lot of options for Vegetarian ramen… For example, they had no tofu to add to the ramen. Also, they only had one type of soup base for the Vegetarian ramen; all the meat options had several soup base options. Other than that, we really enjoyed the ramen and will be back to have it again sometime.

They serve really awesome and authentic ramen. It's very similar to the one I've eaten at an authentic Japanese place at Ho Chi Minh city (I've never tried one in Japan though, but my Japan-fan friend was impressed that time). Please be aware that the space it quite small, so it probably won't fit a big company, and also you might need to wait for some table to become vacant. But it's worth it. Definitely recommend. Will come again for sure.

This is hands down the best ramen place I've been to in the lower mainland/Vancouver. I've been coming here every week for almost a year now and have never been disappointed. Everything on the menu is delicious.10/10

Edit: Changing to 5-stars because I got the Shoyu ramen for my second visit and it was so delicious and had depth of flavor that satisfied the cravings. Really good portion for the price too! I loved the garlic bits, chili pepper and sesame toppings on the side so you can enjoy different flavors in one bowl. Get yourself some pork Chashu too! The pan-fried gyoza were quite disappointing! Super tiny and deflated and too chewy to eat. They were out of shoyu ramen so I got Ajitama Miso. It was good but was lacking something maybe bc I’m more of a rich pork+fish broth kinda person instead of chicken that they have. The toppings being the same price is nice though. I should try the Shoyu next time.

My go-to ramen place! I’ve been coming here ever since the first week they opened up. The broth is so tasty and creamy, and the thin noodles are perfect. I’ve tried many ramen places in Vancouver, and I always come back to Akedo. I usually order the Original, black, add extra chashu and make it spicy. So delicious! The owners are super friendly too.

Came here yesterday for my first time. There was a line up to at 11am. Luckily my buddy was there from 11:15am. The doors open at 11:30am sharp. We make it in on the first wave of customers. Inside is very clean and tidy. There's a decent amount of tables for couples and groups of 4. Order a Japanese beer, first time for me. It's their 4 year anniversary and there's a special today and for the next 3 days I believe. Wagyu Beef and truffle Ramen noodle bowl. There's a choice of white, black and red broth. I go with the white broth. Order 2 appetizers pan fried gyozas and Aburi Pork Cha-Shu. The speed of the service was impressive considering the restaurant was full. My first bite of the wagyu beef with the truffles was better than I could have ever imagined. It was like butter and melted in my mouth. The noodles and broth were just as good, smooth and seasoned beautifully. Gyozas were alittle small but tasted delicious and the 2 dipping sauces were very tasteful. The pork was also on point. I will defintely be coming back again to try the regular menu as unfortunately the wagyu is only a anniversary special. I'm sure they will be as good as my first meal. Great restaurant and great service. 👍

Honestly the BEST vegetarian ramen (with vegetarian broth). It's so creamy and flavours are really developed. I went there twice in one day 🤭. I've only ordered takeout, and it's packaged very well. Portion size is perfect. & Staff is very friendly!

I would consider Akedo Showten to have some of the best Chicken (Chashu) Ramen in the Lower Mainland. It’s a nice change of pace from the Pork (Tonkotsu) ramen that every other restaurant offers. The broth was rich. The noodles were thin yet satisfying. The chicken was done just right. The flavoured soft boiled eggs (Ajitama) really hit the spot. My photo doesn’t do it justice as I took a few bites before snapping a picture. If you’re a ramen connoisseur, Akedo Showten is an absolute must. The Japanese family that runs this establishment makes the broth from scratch daily. They also have a second location in New West and a sister restaurant in Japan. I can’t wait to come back here!
