Prawn spring rolls are amazing, Singapore noodles were delicious. All the dishes we ordered were very fresh and tasty, not greasy at all...will definitely be ordering takeout from this establishment again
They seem to always want the money from you instantly. They don't like to give change and almost like they demand a tip. One time a tip was demanded but we did not tip because they got our order wrong last time. The food is good, but the customer service needs work. du du du darn
I've been consistently enjoying this place over a few years now. This is one of my go to places to grab some good Chinese food. My absolute favourites are crab in black bean sauce and peking duck, but of course, those are on the expensive side. I also enjoy more casual dishes such as their Szechuan Styled Kung Pow Chicken, Ginger Beef, Mixed Chow Mein and Green Bean dish. The Kung Pow Chicken is cut up into perfect sizes and served in a perfect blend of ingredients. Though I do enjoy their Mixed Chow Mein, it doesn't boast a great flavour, and sometimes lacks a good ratio between meat and noodles. The Green Bean dish is definitely my favourite vegetable dish. It's great texture, flavour and spiciness just keeps me ordering this dish every time. Will continue to come here, hopefully for years to come.
Delicious Dim Sum. There was a good selection of items on the menu & the service was prompt & helpful. The Dim Sum flavours were fresh & the portions were generous & the prices were fair. I look forward to returning.
Nice place, it's not the best dim sum I think but it's pretty good, prices are reasonable and service is good too. Their congee is yummy and so as their spicy squid. They take credit, debit and cash, free wifi and parking and reserve a table in advance!
Authentic Chinese food and very clean place. Staff are friendly. Portions are big and prices are reasonable. Would definitely come back again.
You'd better make a reservation.. By far the best Chinese restaurant south of the Fraser: new, clean, and well-managed. The menu features fresh, local ingredients. The portions are generous and the prices are above average, but well worth it.
After you try their sweet and sour pork, you'll never want to settle for less. Other places try to hide their ingredients under a blanket of overly sweet - and invariably canned - sauce, but at EG you'll find all the smoky spare-rib flavours, with just the right hint of sweetness.
Beef and broccoli in black bean sauce is one of my favorites. It's a delight to taste fresh ingredients, instead of the frozen stuff that you find elsewhere, hidden by too-heavy sauces or way too much spices. EG's Szechwan dishes are a revelation, too: fresh, clean flavours with just the right amount of heat. And check out the Almond Breaded Chicken - real chicken wedges in a light batter that melts in your mouth.

A favorite!. Can't get enough of this place! Good value, good food, attentive service! Sometimes it is hard to find a place to park, and its crazy busy, but it is always worth the wait. Best service I have had anywhere in Langley! Why go anywhere else for Chinese food?
Awesome food, awesome staff!. We just love this restaurant!! The service is always fabulous, we've never waited to be seated or to be served. The food is always fresh and hot, not over sauced like many western chinese restaurants can be. It is definitely the favourite chinese place of our entire family!
Great food , gread serives. We recently moved to the area and I was worried about finding a decent chinese restaurant but this was a great find. Something for everyone on the menu and its all very good. I would recommend the black fish steak.
Delicious!!! Best Chinese food I've had in forever!!! Very authentic less "americanized" little more costly than a regular "americanized" place but worth every penny!' Specials were great price. Large plates of food :-)

UNDER NEW MAGAGEMENT. The old Empire Garden was a mainstay here in Langley. Great food, great service, management sociable and omnipresent. Alas, with new owners, this place is, at best, defunct.
Dim Sum (solo) revealed good cooking but a welcome so cold as to be almost hostile. Incompetent service (twice suffered incorrect orders) didn't help.
As a last ditch I ordered delivery. GREAT delivery guy (the staff here seem to be doing all they can) But the food was ghastly. Crispy tofu just wedges of tofu dumped in hot oil. Pork cooked. oh yes. cooked. inedible. Limp vegetables. Chow mein sans all but noodles. oh - ok, two mushrooms.
so do yourself a favour. Forget the old lamented Empire Garden and go elsewhere...

although I received a (prompt) apology and offer of a free meal from the new management at Empire Garden, I chose to go back alone and anonymously, thinking that would be a fairer evaluation. WHAT A CHANGE!!!
I went for dim sum alone in the week (the greatest test: white, middle aged & female!) the service was great, the reception welcoming and the food excellent. I didn't dare order the tofu, but everything else (sauteed pea shoots, spareribs, pork pastries and SPECIAL MENTION golden fried eggplant) were superb!
Daring to test this with my old habits, I went back with my husband after the opera on the weekend. In spite of the fact that we came in the busiest time, we were served promptly and in friendly fashion. The food was good -- except for the tofu, which is just flat out a mistake. Wedges cut too thin yields leather. HOWEVER when I said we didn't want to take our leftover tofu, the server was quick to say -- a bit too dry? and removed them from our bill, though I protested that we had ordered them.
once again, I can (and will) unhesitatingly recommend Empire Garden as the best chinese food in Langley. And we will be back. But guys -- bring back the coated tofu with succulent tofu rectangles inside crispy outsides. Just saying.
New local favourite for dim sum.. There aren't many good dim sum places around unless you head over a bridge to Vancouver or Richmond. Thrilled to discover this gem though! The portion sizes for some menu items (like the wrapped sticky rice) are larger than other dim sum restaurants I've been to, which is a nice change. My mom and I ordered nine or ten dishes, not knowing about the portion, and our bill was less than $50. Damn good in my opinion, plus plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Definitely worth giving this place a try!
Decent Dim Sum. Usually I do not have high hope when I get dimsum outside of Vancouver or RIchmond. Here however, it's actually decent, at least for 5 out of 6 dishes I tried. I would especially recommend their deep fried items, they are quite tasty but does not get too oily unlike typical dim sum places.
The only con would be that they only have 3 server so when there are many people service tends to be minimal. Other than that it would be a decent place south of Fraser if you crave for some dim sum.
The best authentic chinese food on this side of the bridge!! Ifound the service pretty good, the quality of the food above average, have had family from out of town and had a ten course meal and it was excellent!!! Will be coming back
Will be back. Had a great meal at Empire Garden two months back, and waiting to get there again. Food is certainly more authentic than most of what you get around Surrey/Langley--after living in Taiwan for a decade or so, we appreciate the chance to enjoy real Chinese food. As such, no sweet and sour for us. Saw the Peking duck being prepared, and we'll be having that soon.
Good food. Good price... 20 dollar dinner for 2. Got the combos. Large portions. Service okay. If I crave some good Chinese food.... I'll go back here.
Good but Pricey. This restaraunt is good for a-la-carte and dim sum. I would NOT reccomend their pre-planned menus for booking groups. I did this for my birthday and was very dissappointed. The food came out at odd intervals and there was not NEARLY enough to feed the number of people they said it would. The billing/payment was also complicated as everyone was paying for themselves and they had a hard time figuring this out.
Friendly service, nice decor, comfy chairs and good food!!! Great to have an authentic dim sum / Chinese restaurant in walnut grove. More expensive than Richmond but think of all the gas you save :) definitely recommended.
Great Dim Sum. I've been here several times for dim sum and it's always been really good! I haven't found too many places in the valley that serve dim sum and this place is by far the best.
I'm not usually a fan of chinese food (too heavy/greasy/starchy) but this place was really good! The blackbean prawn and asparagus teppen was really great, great flavour, not too salty, or greasy at all! Paired with a couple small bowls of rice, it was a great meal for two; and we didn't feel weighed down afterwards like with usual chinese food :)

Dim Sum Sunday, stuffed eggplant wonderful, Gai Lan perfectly cooked. Great assortment , good choices, if your hungry and a big eater it can be pricy, but if u figure in gas and your time to get to China Town, it's worth it. Treat yourself! Staff friendly an inviting, lovely place.
Dim Sum FINALLY!. I was stoked to find this restaurant in Langley. Living in Surrey the past 16+ years, I had all but given up finding a restaurant where I could get Dim Sum (without travelling to Richmond or Vancouver). The Empire Garden was wonderful! They don't have the carts I remember from my childhood but everything was made fresh per order.
We had the Hai Gow, Shrimp Toast, Sticky rice and Rice flour shrimp rolls. Everything was fresh, hot & delicious...This restaurant is definitely on my list of monthly journeys... More Dim Sum in my future at the Empire Garden, but I think next up I will try their dinner menu....SOOOO yummy! Friendly staff, clean and easy to locate...

My choice for Chinese Food in Langley. Great service! Great food! Great dim sum! Yes, hard to find for the newbie, but well worth the effort. Can get very busy, but we found that we didn't have to wait long for a table.

Out of the way Jewel. Had a hard time finding Empire Garden but it was worth while when we did. Small parking lot but the restaurant is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside.
Empire has a nice variety of dim sum and all of the tiems we ordered were prepared wonderfully. I think next time we come, we shall dome for dinner and try the Peking Duck special.

We have been here so many times because the quality, freshness, and hospitality is amazing. But let’s talk about the food. Their dim sum is absolutely amazing. So flavourful and very good portions!!!
Solid dim sum. Service was okay, some servers could have been friendlier. Some dishes were better than others. The resto was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon. The sesame prawn toast is bomb and the reason I'd prob come back.

One of the best Dim Sums in Langley. It gets busy fast for brunch during weekends. Dim sum is pretty good compared to other restaurants in Langley. Egg tarts and spring rolls are good!
Flavorful Chinese food and a great place for dim sum. I had to take off 1 star for the service, but I would still go back.
