Review Katana - Langley City

Very tasty! We went for our anniversary and had a great time! The chef was fun and I like how they separated the rice and veggies so there were different courses. It's expensive but that's to be expected. My only issue was the decor; it was very dated for such an expensive place, all the photos on the wall are cute, but not suited for this restaurant

Fun experience a definite must try once. You get a small salad, soup, then the fire show starts, huge serving of rice first then it gets cold by the time your meat comes, you then get two small shrimps and then veggies come .. wish everything came at once so you can eat like a stir fry.. quick service Quite pricey but it's fun vibe with a group...

Happy with the show, not so much with the food. The chef was very friendly an put on a great show. The food was mediocre at best. Not a dish I would pay 50$ anywhere else for sure.

Great food, but the portions can be inequitable sometimes. The chef's put on a great show. The restaurant has a nice feel to it. The staff are very friendly. Great place for a nice dinner with friends or family. I'm upset I never went here sooner. We will be back again.

The food was really good in flavor. The tricks the chef did at the beginning were fun. However, the portions were not distributed properly. The people at the other side of the table who were served first got more rice and vegetables and even extra scallops. Then by the time I was served (last) there was much less food. Especially the vegetables the difference was very obvious. Would be cool if the chef did some more show elements throughout. Mostly in the beginning there's fun stuff, then it's just frying the food. I've seen videos of other restaurants where there's more engagement throughout. Also, the opening hours on Google are wrong. I wanted to dine as soon as the restaurant opened as I had an extremely early start the next day so I booked for 4:30pm on Sunday. When I got there 4:25pm there were already people eating and the restaurant was half full, so I don't actually know when they opened but it definitely before 4:30pm We had the Hibachi steak, steak and scallops and the chicken.

Lived the experience. Price is high but expected for the service and steak house type of serving. Only challenge is that they tend to make you leave fast...

If I could give zero stars I would… came here for a birthday event and my boyfriend asked to split one meal, the server said okay and wrote it down then moved on to the rest of our friends. We had made sure to explain it to them as I had been to Katana’s before, we knew how overwhelming it was with our table of 12, and we didn’t want any mix ups. We were then slowly served each portion of our meal, and of course, we didn’t think anything of it as the chef brought portioned amounts of each food item based on what everyone ordered. I couldn’t eat it all of course, and it got me wondering why they were giving me so much food, as I was only supposed to get half of one meal. When it came to the end, we got our bill, and sure enough, we were charged for 2 meals. My boyfriend and I looked at each other in horror, as we weren’t prepared to pay $100 for 2 meals we didn’t ask for. I am a full-time student who has bills to pay and needs to watch what I purchase. After a long talk with the staff, we were forced to pay as they told us that we did in fact not tell them we were splitting a meal and that we asked for 2 steaks. But, I didn’t even talk while we were ordering, my boyfriend did the talking so how would they know if I wanted my own separate steak? There was nothing else we could do, they would just repeat themselves and wouldn’t listen to what we had to say. They insisted that we pay, and they began ignoring us. They were totally disrespectful. Very poor customer service.

Over priced for simple food. The service was slow for the amount of people in the restaurant. The server didn't clear our salad plates and soup bowls even though we piled them up for her. We all ordered the teppanyaki. I had the chicken. Our cook started off cooking the fried rice, only added one egg for 7 people. Once it was cooked he put it on our all plates. Then he started cooking the vegetables and meat. The vegetables were undercooked and in huge pieces. Hard to eat with chop sticks. The chicken was very bland. Overall this place was very disappointing, would not go back. This place could have lots of potential if they focused on the menu and lowered the price.

This is a hidden gem! Had roudy and drunk customers they dealt with very well and also gave all the other customers free dessert for the inconvenience. The food was great and the chefs are talented!!

Awesome. Went to Katana last night and it was the best japanese I've had in a long time! The beef was of the best quality. Expensive but worth it every now and again!

TEPPENYAKI IN LANGLEY?. I noticed a place next to my gym in langley called katana's and it looked interesting. Checked it out eventually and I had a very average experience. The food is average, the atmosphere is average, the chefs are average. Nothing special here. If you have never experienced teppenyaki before then this will appeal to you, but if you have then don't waste your money here. One thing I did find interesting was the huge bottle of complimentary listerine in the bathroom. Really?? For all of us men to share! I really enjoy swishing around mouthwash used buy a bunch of other men. That's a real bonus. Thanks Katana's. Not only for the average food, but most importantly the fresh breath!
