Review Fox And Fiddle - Langley City

Food is good, and decently priced. Lots of parking, always friendly staff. When we went, kitchen was incredibly slow. Past visits have been no problem.

10% discount bait and switch tactics, $25 for a kids meal We have two children, 6 and 7 years old. Slow service trying to get a kids’ menu. (It wasn’t given automatically at the beginning… just adults’ menus for everyone.) So anyway, finally got the kids’ menu. Kids’ meals are $9, but no hamburger on the kids’ menu. Our 6-year really wanted a plain burger with just ketchup. The waitress said that would be fine. Came out to costing adult burger prices. Furthermore, the kids’ meal was supposed to include a drink. Our boy asked for chocolate milk. Charged us $3.50. Only when the bill comes do they tell us that kids’ meal drinks are only pop… milk is $3.50. Asked for tomato on the burger… came in at $1.50 extra. All told, the kids’ burger ended up costing $25. Also, as guests of the adjoining hotel, we were told we’d get 10% off our meal. Yet, when they calculated it on the bill, the discount was only given on each basic meal before any add-ons or upgrades. And not on any drinks, etc. We brought our concerns up to the management and basically, they said that the restaurant has to make money somehow and they can’t be giving things away for free. They aren’t transparent with all the added costs and the fact that the discount promised won’t be applied to the final bill. I’m very embarrassed for this restaurant. What a shame. The restaurant itself is very nice and the food is more than adequate, but for the way they treat customers, I just wouldn’t come here out of principle. Sad.

What a disaster, first the waitress dumped a glass of OJ all over my wife, the service was bad, then the food came the bacon looked and tasted like plastic, the Benedict eggs where hard like they been sitting for a while and what pest me off the most was that they wanted $75 for the meals, that wasn't worth $30. I felt like I was assaulted because the manager offered me a 10% discount that doesn't even pay for the dry cleaning of my wife, I ended up paying $69 dollars. This place it's not worth stopping. Better food and cheaper all over Langley except at the fox and fiddle, not fun at all. The manager sure had excuses for the experience. So be advised bad service, bad food and a manager that thinks that we are all idiots. the experience that my daughter 9 years old, my wife, my colleague and I experienced in this place I will not recommend this place even to my worst enemies.

Really strange experience - server had a bad attitude. Food was ok but was taken away by upset server. We complained that the 3 small tortillas served with the fajitas followed by an additional order of 2 more small tortillas (for a charge) did not make sense for the portion of chicken etc served. I am not a complainer (see my previous posts) but just a bad situation there. The bartender did a good job of diffusing the situation but it was far from necessary that it happened at all. Stay away - there are so many restaurants in the area - no need to go to this restaurant.

Young lady that waited on us was excellent and so friendly.....BUT the prices for food are crazy high. Would go back for a beer during happy hr but will skip on the food.

The food was excellent, beer was not that cold, service was not that attentive. It was warm inside, so just be aware that they don't have air conditioning. Went there to watch UFC with friends, UFC feed kept cutting out, I am not sure if that is even under their control, but friends watching at home told me they didn't have problems. It is a decent place, but we might be watching UFC elsewhere.

Just recently went to this establishment, the service was decent. However, many errors were made I ordered wings that were cold and the wrong flavour was given. However after explaining the situation to the server, they still charged us for two pounds of wings.

Ordered a cider, and it was warm. The food was alright, nothing special. And I believe this morning I have food poisoning now, had the buffalo chicken and calamari. The service wasn’t great either, we sat around waiting for the waitress to come by for the bill then got fed up and walked to the front to pay.

Terrible service..... boyfriend ordered the steak sandwich, she asked how he would like it cooked, he said medium rare.....it came out medium well...barely ate any of it...... never came to quality check either......let her know about it when she finally showed up .....0and she mumbled something about the kitchen....couldn’t understand what she said tho ....she returned with the bill.... the steak sandwich was still on it with not even discount.....and I noticed she had rung the steak sandwich in as medium...so she messed up and we didn’t even get reimbursed for it ..... the tiny little kilts the servers wear must be to distract from the lame service....

first off we were seated right away but what's the point in being seated if you're not going to be served for 15 minutes?! then we finally got served and it was below average service there was little to no one in the pub and it took and hour for our food to come. the waitress didn't check on us or refill our drinks. the food was not good and over priced for such a small portion. NO TIP! will not be returning ever. y'all need to fire management

Been going here for years but ever since the main cook left a few months ago and a new cook took over the food has been terrible! Food is inconsistent often cold and lacks flavour, sauces, and they even removed simple garnish. The waitresses are awesome though but it obvious it's a lot quieter then the place was before the kitchen changed.

I came to the Fox & Fiddle on St Patrick's day with a small number of friends. As expected, the place was packed, and we were told it would be a 45 minute wait at least. We chanced it, and to our luck (of the Irish?) we got in after only 10 minutes. The interior is pretty average, with an attempt to create the British pub mood by adding Guinness memorabilia everywhere and dark wood panelling along the bottom half of the walls, however to me I felt like I was just in a Milestones or a dolled-up White Spot. However, at this point I'm being quite picky. We were sat on the patio and praise the good Lord for those patio heaters, or we would have been frozen. We first ordered a round of Guinness (naturally) and it took a solid 15 minutes for them to come. That being said, this place was solid packed all night so I can't really judge the speed of service on one of their busiest nights of the year. The Guinness was great and poured correctly (something that's rare these days). After another half an hour, the food came and to say the least, it was average. The nachos were a couple of waffle fries caked in cheese, green onions, and peppers, but the cheese to fry ratio was way off, we basically were eating a mound of melted cheese. And normally I wouldn't care, but for $13, give me something I'll want to order again. To be brutally honest, with all of the pubs in Langley with their character, great brews and delicious food, I wouldn't return to the Fox & Fiddle. It's just too average to compete with the charm of the rest.

Ordered some take-out and was told it be 15 minutes. A half hour later, nothing. The place wasn't busy so no excuse. The kitchen was just extremely slow or the bartender (with whom you have to place an order for take out with) was very inattentive. Either way, I left and won't be back.

The food is always consistently good. Best pub fries in town, order with a side of their house gravy. The order of fries are on the large size, (larger cuts of potato).
Bartender John, demonstrated exemplary service.

New owners does NOT mean better service or better quality. We used to go all the time but the new owners let the quality of the food and the service go. The nachos are way over priced for burnt chips and barely any toppings and how about the staff stops chatting by the bar and take some drink orders

Best service! New Beers. We went to fox Tuesday night. We went for some beers and apps. My server was helpful.....suggested great dishes I would have otherwise not noticed. Told us if the specials.....never had a moose head but it was awesome! Will definitely be back! And thanks to my server (bill said SEETA im pretty sure that was her name) you were awesome...I will definitely have the Irish nachos again

Fox Rocks. Well the food is usually pretty good, I have eaten here probably 20 times. Best appy is the Buffallo Chicken, meals are priced as you'd expect for the establishment. Fish and Chips are not bad for a non-ocean restaurant and the beef dip is good. Fries are also pretty reasonable and both my kids like the kids menu.

Manager has been there for a long time and is very good should there be a problem.

Service has its ups and downs, when its busy the service is horrible.

*** They charge cover for special events like UFC etc, and dont allow kids in during these times.

BOILED steak anyone. Our family lives local and went in for dinner..
Ordered steak sandwiches which were on as a SPECIAL.
They arrived luke warm and after a few cuts we found our Med rare steaks were in fact well done.
My wife got to return hers and I had started to eat mine!! They would do nothing for mine. The second for my wife was RAW not rare RAW and the server wanted to argue with us.
The steaks had grill marks on them and NO juice at all 100% boiled in a bag.
These were the most repulsive steaks we have ever had.

STAY away.Well if you like boil in a bag steak and severs that like to argue. Then enjoy.
Have told our local neighbors as well.
