used to come here quite often, and well pho in langley is actually quite good, so even though this one is on the lighter side, but it's definitely a decent pho that you can find in langley, i might say one of the better ones in reality, their meat cut is decent, rice noodle was firm, and the spring roll was definitely good :D
I've been to Mai's multiple times and everytime the service and the food was amazing!
My first visit was during the lunch hour and despite of having a full house, our server was friendly, attentive and even made recommendations on what to try and my last visit was two weeks ago, with my family of 5 during a busy supper time, service was a bit slower but still good! Food came out hot and fresh. I was disappointed how empty the salad rolls were considering they cost $10 plus for two pieces. I saw that they had two? three? big prawns in them but for the price, I'd say try their Saigon spring rolls instead. They are not your typical spring rolls made with wonton wrappers but with rice wraps. They were crunchy outside and filled with copious amount of pork and mushroom filling. And their pho and specialty noodles were also composed of fresh ingredients and full of flavours.
If you need a little break from a dinge, cheaply decorated pho places and indulge a warm, friendly atmosphere, you have to give Mai's a try!
I live in the Guildford area and this is the only Pho place I'll go to. The staff are friendly and the food is good. The salad rolls are a must - the peanut sauce is delicious! My two main go-to entrees are either the vermicelli (lemongrass chicken or the spring roll) or the veggie pho. Both are delicious and never disappoint. Load up on the chili oil and enjoy!
Surprisingly good pho considering it's Langley. Good atmosphere and good food. Pho is usually pretty good, I'd say consistency needs a but of improvement but not bad at all. Broth has a good flavour along with some decent quality beef. Only thing I can really complain about is the noodle to soup ratio. When I order a large, I feel like I am getting a small portion of noodles. Note that this isn't all the time but occasionally. Another great menu item I've had is the chicken wings of Naam. These chicken wings are fried quite delectably and come with a tasty sauce that make the wings just amazing. Overall a great pho experience in a city you wouldn't expect good pho.
Really good fresh food. The green papaya salad was divine.
Wow! My new favourite for Vietnamese food on mainland! Nice and friendly service with great decor! Really great bun dishes. Best Vietnamese restaurant yet so far in the Langley neighborhood
Papaya salad had the right amount of prawns and peanuts. Steamed rolls with pork was loaded with ground pork and BBQ pork was delicious. I
Mai oh Mai!. I dream about the spring rolls from Mai's! I need to have them regularly!
The broth for the soup dishes are so flavorful! But my go to dish is the #20-B: Add a spring roll, and it never dissapoints! Service is always friendly and the prices are fair.
Great Pho!. I go to Mai's all the time for pho! Their broth is so delicious and flavorful. I find that pho broth can be very one dimensional sometimes, but not here. They have delicious spring rolls and salad rolls as well. I've also tried some of their other dishes like the chicken curry and everything I've had has been great.
FANTASTIC VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT. I've been here a few times with my friends and little sister and each time was phenomenal. My favorite is vermicelli with boneless BBQ pork. I've been to the other Vietnamese restaurants in Langley but Mai's has the best vermicelli by farrr. You get a huge portion with a nice presentation as well. My little sister is a big fan of the Phnom Penh noodles (dry) which comes with a small bowl of soup on the side.
The bathroom amuses me. The faucet is fun to play with, and the bathroom is very clean!! Staff is very friendly and provide good service. I can see why this restaurant is voted Best of the Best Vietnamese restaurant in Langley for a few years now. I definitely recommend this place.
Delicious and healthy. I have been here a few times and each time was pleasantly surprised with the food and the price. I have had the pho, the curried chicken , the spring rolls and the prawns. My companions had the beef and greens, and another beef dish but i have to believe that everything on the menu is done beautifully with delectable side sauces and your total bill make you happy as well ;). The restaurant is very clean and very attractive as well, which is a welcome change from many other traditional Vietnamese restaurants. Service is friendly and helpful. The hours are relatively early, but well worth the effort.
This place is wonderful! The pho broth is lovely and the roll combo appy is a meal in it's self! For $20 you have a complete traditional meal, great, I'm a frequent visitor!
Pho in Langley. Not a bad place to go for Pho (seeing that it is out in the burbs). A little more $ than what we are used to paying though. The curried chicken and rice was tasty - it could have been a little spicier but that is my preference. My wife didn't like her pho - she thought the broth was a little bland and I tend to agree. The kids enjoyed their spring rolls and pho. Still, I'd give it a thumbs up.
Very good!!! The waitress is so hot eventhou I am a Female:-/ she is so kind!!!pretty expensive but looks like there is reason! Try to have lemon grass chicken rice!!so goood!! Pretty fancy eh!!!
Yum!. I had the Pnomh Penh noodle soup and it was phenomenal. The soup tasted great. It's more expensive then the usual Vietnamese places that I tend to go to but it was worth it as the dishes did not have any msg and used really fresh ingredients. The soup was nice and clear and really tasty.
Mai’s Vietnamese Restaurant is located in the Walnut Grove area of Langley. They serve all of your typical dishes you would find in a Vietnamese restaurant plus some dishes with other Asian influences. I came here with my Mom for lunch during the week and the place was packed. It’s a bit nicer and newer than your average Vietnamese restaurant, but it’s nothing fancy. I had the rare beef pho. This bowl was good and satisfying. To be honest, I have a hard time writing about pho, because I always end up ordering the same type and it usually tastes pretty similar. The meat was still pink when it came out, which makes me happy. I hate it when it has been sitting in the back for too long and then the meat is tough by the time it gets to your table. My Mom had the beef stir fry on egg noodles. This isn’t a typical Vietnamese dish, but it was actually pretty good. The noodles were nice and crispy and everything was coated in a light, beef flavoured sauce that wasn’t too thick and corn starchy.
Mai's isn't your typical Vietnamese restaurant, it comes off as a little more upscale than most I have been to. As I noted earlier, I am not an expert on Vietnamese; therefore, I tend to stick to what I know (BBQ Pork, Vermicelli & Spring Rolls or Pho). This time I chose the Vermicelli, BBQ Pork and Spring Rolls ($16). I must say that the pork was delicious and the spring rolls were also very good. I have had better spring rolls, but I wouldn't kick these ones out of bed for eating crackers. Seriously, they were pretty good. I cannot comment on the service or the overall dining experience since, I got my food to go. I will say though, that the food was made fast, the portions were large, it tasted fantastic and the price was reasonable.
